I originally thought it was more of a casual cafe but once inside, it felt like a slightly elevated breakfast/brunch spot. The latte was super cute (loved the presentation in the blue mug) and tasted great. The chai was also really good. We hung out for out for some time before ordering enjoyed having the place basically to ourselves! At first, we weren't planning to order food but once the place started filling up and we saw what people were getting, we couldn't resist. Stopped in while our daughter was in the hospital. We stumbled into this place by chance . Wait staff is exceptional. We ordered small plates- pancakes and side of eggs. I got a chai with a shot of espresso which came out piping hot and immediately. I also got a breakfast croissant and added tomatoes. That came out quickly too. My croissant was soggy and floppy so as I picked it up to take a bite all the things came sliding out. Otherwise the bacon could have been thicker and crispier, egg was cooked well and seasoned well. Australian-influenced café that is a must-try! They miraculously have their own dedicated parking lot and ample street parking despite being located in the Heights, so parking is fairly easy. They have a really cute outdoor patio with white and blue umbrella ambiance for days with nice weather, and they all blues and whites inside with Gray Malin aerial photos of Australian beaches decorating the walls. The staff is all incredibly friendly and helpful. They recommended the Flat White and the Avocado Smash as traditional Australian favorites, so that's what I got! I added bacon and poached egg, which made it particularly scrumptious. The plate was creatively presented with some sort of avocado purée surrounding the main dish, and there was also a little something that added a slight kick to the flavor. I'm normally a cappuccino drinker, but the flat white was delicious! A less airy alternative to the cappuccino according to the waiter, and I'd agree. It was very well made. I ordered a side of heirloom carrots (because why don't more places do carrots?!) but had to take them home because I was too full from my meal. But also delicious! Came here for breakfast/brunch at 9am on a Saturday and had no issue with parking/being seated immediately. Overall, service was friendly when they came by, but we went long periods without anyone coming over when we would have wanted to order another drink (they eventually did, of course). Turns out you can also place orders via their website (scan QR specific to your table once seated), so that probably is the way to go...wish someone told us that sooner. Oh well! To kick off the caffeine fix, I ordered the flat white, which was beautifully prepared and presented. The coffee was smooth with no bitterness. Sugar is available upon request. For the meal, I ordered the BL Burrito - as some other Yelpers have noted, the burrito is hearty and filling, but it comes with a "small" side of potatoes (probably actually what a serving should be, but looks comical on the large plate). But never fear, the burrito has more delicious spuds inside. To wrap things up, I ended with an iced chai latte - not sure if there was any actual chai in the latte, but it was delicious nonetheless. I'm a sucker for new coffee spots and knew I had to check out Bluestone once I saw it pop up all over social media. We arrived at the tail end of the breakfast/lunch crowd on a weekday and was seated immediately. Shortly after the place thinned out almost completely. Customer service was great from start to finish. Our initial server was still learning the menu but she gave us some suggestions. The interior was very aesthetically pleasing as well. Being we were in a Australian based coffee shop, I went with the most Aussie thing I could find and went with the Aussie Iced Latte. It was definitely pic worthy but it did not pack the coffee punch I was looking for. That being said, it was a nice dessert like coffee that hit the spot on that hot summer day. For food, the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were calling my name and it came highly recommended. Not only were these plated beautifully, they also were very delicious. They were nice and pillowy soft with just enough slight crisp from the griddle. It was topped with ricotta and a lemon curd that was a perfect compliment to the pancake. I did not even use the syrup that came with the dish. I tried a bite of the Avocado Smash and that was one of the better avocado toasts I have had in awhile.
