We were in town and meeting family for breakfast so we decided to stop here. Reviews say it definitely gets busy Sundays and that was true. We put our name down on the waiting list in about 15 minutes later we were seated not too bad. Our waitress came over pretty quick. Brought some waters and coffee and left us some time to look over the menu. My husband and I opted for the ham steak and eggs, which came with hashbrowns toast, or whatever I chose hashbrowns over medium eggs and pancakes since my brother wasn't ready for more breakfast he opted for a tuna meal and side salad my other brother, some kind of skillet.. service got a little slower at this point and our food took a little bit longer, but there was a party next to us that was quite large so I'm assuming that's where the holdup was. On our food came out. It looked good. I really wanted those pancakes. I was a little bummed because when I went to Biden to them, they've been on the griddle a little too long, so the underside was more crispy than soft and light like a pancake should be, but I did like that. They were the sweet cream pancakes. Ham steak was good size cooked well hashbrowns were OK. My brother didn't care for his salad. It was talked with so many onions he couldn't even really eat it. I know everything was OK. I don't think I jumped back the chance to come again, but it was good size food portions, and we had good conversation. Parking was quite hard to find again. They did say it on their other reviews that it does get very busy so we did have to drive around for a little bit to find a space and walk over so be prepared for a wait.

I've been on a bit of a diner kick lately and decided to stop in to Sloans for an early breakfast. Typical diner vibes. It's cozy, dated yet welcoming. Located in the city of Indio, it's not hard to miss off of the busy highway 111 strip. We were seated right away and service was friendly and attentive. The staff seemed to share the responsibilities well as everyone was helping to keep glasses filled, tables cleared and our food came out reasonably quick despite the restaurant being busy. Prices are comparable to any chain diner type spot. The menu was large so there are plenty of options to pick from. They also had weekly specials and happy hour prices if you are looking for some deals. They have a full bar. I'd say the food was somewhere about a 3.5 out of 5. Run of the mill, okay breakfast options. The German pancakes were pretty good. Not the best in the desert but the spot we usually go is across town, so definitely was happy to find a good German pancake closer to home. Skip the eggs Benedict. While the concept of the Baja Benedict was good in theory, they couldn't execute the basics. The eggs were lukewarm and the English muffin was raw/almost no warmth to it. Wouldn't get again. Some missed here and that's just the way it goes. Keeping the service in mind and enjoying the overall comfortable atmosphere of the spot, bumping up to a 4/5 stars.

Came here for breakfast on Thanksgiving day. This was one of the few places open and had good reviews. Server helped us get a table immediately. Food came out fairly quickly. I got the breakfast burrito which comes with rice and beans. Kids got the Nutella & strawberry crepe and wife got the Santa Fe omelette. The portion sizes were generous. Everything tasted good and the service was friendly. Overall had a good experience.

I came here with a friend and enjoyed! The service is top notch and they keep the hot, fresh coffee flowing! I really enjoyed that perk since a lot of breakfast spots that serve coffee don't refill or offer coffee as consistently and frequently as Sloan's. They also scored high with their food. It was served hot and fresh and seemed to be made to order which was great! I ordered a skillet which had bacon, ham and sausage. The skillet was filling and delicious. Came this local little family breakfast spot along join some peaceful time in the desert. Just a heads up it does get busy on a Sunday morning as the usual for breakfast spots that are good. After about a 20 minute wait so we got our table we seated fast and our waitress was prompt to take our order and get us drinks to our table. Now onto the food. This is some good old American old-fashioned diner/restaurant quality food .. the omelettes were big and tasty, and there was a slight egg surcharge added to each one of these, which I guess is par for the course nowadays but I wish the restaurant would absorb some of these costs. The farmers omelette was a mix of all three meat, bacon, sausage, and ham. This thing was delicious and Phil and the hashbrowns were extra crispy which I love. My wife got the veggie omelette and she said that was pretty good also which came at Home style potatoes which were crispy crunchy and also delicious. The pancakes at this place were great too slightly yellow and color tasted like buttermilk, soft, fluffy and warm. Loved these things also. Great little breakfast spot reasonable pricing good service. What more can you ask for on a Sunday morning go give it a shot. It's worth it.

Was in town with friends and came here for breakfast and we all really enjoyed the food. It's definitely a locals diner/restaurant vibe and despite being packed at 11am, they seated us right away. The food service was a bit slow but they were attentive and the portions were large which we appreciated as the price was a little steep. I got the gravy and sausage eggs Benedict and loved it. It was more so a biscuit, sausage and gravy muffin with the egg on top but it was so good. The gravy and what seemed like homemade biscuits were delish. By far one of my fav breakfasts I've ever had. My friends tried the crepes, chilaquiles and scramble and all really liked it. I also got the smaller Bloody Mary which was pretty cheap and decent. It was a good experience and I'll def be back when I'm in town!

Lacking exemplary flavors. One exception was the German pancake - but enough butter will fix anything. Standard fool proof breakfast was had but not overly impressed. Better than your neighborhood IHOP. Average experience but served the purpose of getting fed. Friendly staff read more

I'll try to make this quick and painless. We came in Sunday night after the fair. The service was mediocre, but it was a diner so we didn't care. The tropical chicken salad caught my attention so I went for it. The chicken breast was raw, the pineapple was browning, it was supposed to have smoked cheese (this is what did me in). It totally wasn't, not even a hint of smoke. The strawberries and mangoes on the salad were ok. I wish my salad tasted better and the chicken was cooked because the salad dressing was delicious. The other people in my party were equally unimpressed. Maybe Sunday is a bad day. read more

Oh my gosh what a great breakfast experience we had this morning at Sloan's in Indio, when our eye popping food came to the table it was more food then one could eat, I had the three egg omelette and the two sides that were offered I selected French toast and hash browns, I have to say the French toast was the best I have ever eaten, the hash browns were cooked perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft in the center, my omelet was great as well the only down side was I couldn't finish it it was so big, I solved that problem easily though and got a To Go container and will be enjoying the rest of my meal for lunch. Service and food I give Five Stars! Prime Rib Monday night is awesome too! read more

DONT BOTHER COMING HERE IF YOU HAVE LEGITIMATE ILLNESS AND OWN A ADA TRAINED, LICENSED AND APPROVED ANIMAL. OWNER COMPLETELY RUDE AND OBLIVIOUS TO CALIFORNIAN LAW!!! Would give 0 stars if I could. The owner should be ashamed of himself and learn California law. Never have I felt so judged just for needing to bring my service animal whom to me makes my daily life possible out for what was meant to be a lovely brunch with my wife. Shame on you Mr Sloan. Your judging looks and rude comments are completely uncalled for and even break the law. https://www.ada.gov/archive/qasrvc.htm Read up on the law. I have an ADA certified and registered service animal register both in the USA and ADUK in England. I even carry a mediacal certificate. I sat waiting 30 minutes in the waiting room with my service animal and you didn't know he was there (because he is trained!!!) It wasn't until you seated us that you rudely questioned me outside of the realms required by law and then still didn't want to sit me and my wife. Some people may abuse the system but that doesn't give you the right to presume everyone does or anyone does for that matter. You caused great anxiety, stress and upset and completely ruined my day yet you couldn't give two hoots. You have no respect for your disabled customers. Truly apauling customer service especially from the owner of a business. Shame on you. I used to come here all the time during the week. But I assure you me and my family will never return again. You couldn't even swallow your pride and apologise for being so rude. Absolutely disgusting. read more

Food looks great in the photos so I went here specifically for the chicken fried steak breakfast. It was just alright. Low quality ingredients made with zero pride. The bloody Mary's were decent. Service in the bar area was terrible. The bar tender seemed more interested in her regular customers drama at the bar than making sure we had place settings, good food, and refills. Won't be going back, still in search of a quality regular breakfast spot around here. read more

Wow! What a hidden gem! What it lacks in ambiance (it's conveniently located right on a local freeway), it more than makes up for in quality (and quantity and variety) of food and excellent, friendly service. I had the ham and cheese omelet, which by itself could have served two). But no ... it was automatically accompanied by pancakes (to which I requested be added chocolate chips) and tomatoes. Of course, you could instead choose to have hash browns, a blueberry muffin, french fries, or cottage cheese as your two "sides." EVERYTHING was delicious (and consistently so, since I've been twice in 3 days!), delivered fast, by pleasant, knowledgeable servers. There's even a rotating server walking around replenishing everyone's coffee and water. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! read more

I was in the area so thought I'd try Sloan's after seeing the good reviews. What a big disappointment. Like most of the restaurant prices going higher after the pandemic I was still shocked at the prices ranging from $13 - $19 for breakfast. I ordered a Belgian Waffle $10. For that price I was expecting a batter poured waffle not the frozen out of the box waffle. It was not warm enough to melt the whipped scope of butter dropped on the top. The syrup was not maple but cheap artificial syrup. The staff persons were very nice and efficient but the food was horrible. Don't go! read more

Sloan's ambiance is trapped circa 1970s Las Vegas diner but don't let it fool you for service and food. I'm always greeted with a smile and the coffee is fresh and filled throughout your dining experience. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you must order the German pancake. It's big enough to share but treat yo self and eat the whole thing. They have shredded hash browns, not those "new potatoes", and if you need to carb more, their pancakes are delicious. Coconut syrup is offered as an option to your traditional maple. Diner breakfast at its finest in the desert. It's a go see for all my guests in the valley. read more

Leaving Fantasy Springs we decided to get some breakfast. I looked on yelp and found this place. It was further than I thought but it was worth it. The staff was very friendly and it seemed as if they get a lot of regulars. I ordered the senior breakfast (no I'm not old enough) and my server didn't complain. My hubby ordered an omelette which came with 2 sides. He got the hash browns and French toast. Yes, the French toast was a side! Needless to say we brought home leftovers. To start off me, my grandson, and my daughter saw a place called Sloan's. We HAD TO WAIT 20 minutes to even get seated. WE FINALLY GOT SEATED THEN HAD TO WAIT ANOTHER 10 MINUTES TO TELL THE WAITER OUR ORDER.The waiter wouldn't explain what the menus items consisted of, so we ordered as best we we could. We got our food, all of our bacon was burnt, the pancakes were bad, the hash browns were burnt, and so were the eggs. When we asked the waiter for straws the waiter threw them at us and said "here". We gave the waiter a dollar tip because of how disappointed we were. I will never be coming here again ....avoid this place.....and go to McDonald's which is right across the street. read more

My folks had been going there for a bit and I always trust them with good food recommendations again, they hadn't failed. I throughly enjoyed everything! I ordered the fish n chips (cause I'm a fat kid) and it was delicious. I also tried the cream of turkey soup, delicious! Not to mention the service, outstanding! Sloan's is a wonderful restaurant where LOCALS and visitors dine regularly. As a local I can say I have dined here regularly for more than 20 years. Sloan's is a fantastic family owned restaurant with staff that have worked there for decades and are cherished by the community. For visitors, please disregard any bad reviews as they are from disgruntled diners who are not from the CV. read more

Food is ok. Service was friendly & attentive. Overpriced, however. Good sized seating area with plenty of available seating on a Friday morning. Home fries were amazingly tasty as well as hash browns. I, myself, ordered the date nut pancakes and it just tasted like the dates were dried out and old. The nuts also tasted old and dusty. And pancakes are just pancakes; nothing to write home about- so I was a little bummed about having ordered this dish. I suppose I'd just order something different next time. read more

Really good breakfast place. We were in the area and wanted to give this place a try. They serve huge portions. I ordered hash brown and eggs with sausages and French toast. Their French toast was amazinggggg!!!! I definitely recommend that! Our waitress was nice and fast. I did ordered scrambled eggs but they gave me over easy (I am pregnant). Had to send that back but they were quick to whip up another one. Definitely should give this a try! read more

Growing up I use to come here at least twice a week with my family. It was amazing. Food was amazing customer service was off the charts. But this past couple years even before covid hit this place has gone downhill and it's sad. Customer service is absolutely horrible. I get it short staff, trouble getting ingredients whatever the case may be, but we're human and need to treat each other with respect. I call to place an order because it said online - online orders are not available. Fast forward to over 10 minutes I'm still on hold. Before putting me on hold the lady asked someone "are we taking orders? Are you sure? Are you sure?". my boyfriend and i were absolutely blown away by the speed at which this restaurant functions. we were worried when we saw the parking lot packed, seeing as it's the day after stagecoach we were sure there would be a long wait. but, we were seated immediately, greeted with some coffee, and our food was out in 10 minutes. and on top of that, the food was great! the gravy is definitely a must have. read more

I had an Arnold Palmer to drink maybe to be cliche but it really hit and paired well with my meal. I thought they might have some complementary bread or something, but no. Our server finally came back to take our order. I thought they might have some specials, but he didn't mention any and I was impatient at that point. I don't always leave 5 stars, but the food made up for what the service lacked. It was really worth the wait once we got our food. We started with the potstickers. They were prepared excellently. Sloan's is one of the only places in the valley we can take our three small children without it being a problem for the staff and customers, since children ARE welcomed there. I didn't expect much from this place which looked quite humble situated there on the corner of Hwy 111 and Clinton. I was impressed with the service, the quick delivery of our order and the fact that our PICKY children enjoyed and ate what was ordered. I have yet to be disappointed. I have been there about 13 or 15 times, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On my last visit, 2 weeks ago, my family, a party of five, ordered the Peach Cobbler to share. It was so bountiful and delicious!! Unfortunately, we could not finish it. That goes to show how abundant the portion was. You won't be disappointed, no matter what you order. Was a nice little "hidden" spot that I had never had the chance to try before while I've visited. Finally realized that it's literally in the middle of 111 while finishing some errands. Stopped by to have lunch and found the best surprise! Everything looks very well taken care of and their menu had a selection of American style cuisine that had something for absolutely everyone. Went to Sloane's last Friday, and once again, they did not disappoint. It's become one of my family's favorite breakfast spots because the food and service are consistently excellent. I ordered the avocado toast, which was fresh and delicious. My wife had the pancakes with bacon and eggs, and she absolutely loved them. I went to Sloan's for dinner today, and started with an appetizer the "Shrimp Jammers" They went perfect with my icy Modelo Especial. Then ordered the Rib Eye steak with asparagus and mashed potato's. All in all it was a disappointment, I have driven by this place so many times on the way to my library in Rancho Mirage and I had wanted to try it for years. But if you're serving lukewarm hashbrowns with your breakfast, and if your waitress does not come back and check on you one time to ask you how is everything going, that is not good. She literally didn't even come back to top up my coffee. The coffee was not great either. Another server did to up my coffee once and then when someone came to give us the check, they left the wrong one. It was for a different table. All in all the service was not good. Conclusion, if you look at some of the reviews here, many people have said that no one checked on them once their order was delivered to their table so obviously no one's reading these reviews because this is still happening. I mean seriously this is basic service 101. You drop off the food you give them a little bit of time and then you go back to make sure everything's OK. Maybe they know it's not OK so don't want to ask.
