Had a craving for some "late night" (10 pm) pizza, so was lucky enough to get my delivery order in before they closed! Delivery fee through yelp was only $3.49 and I was quite surprised to see that their cheese pizza was reasonably priced at $14.99 The order got here in quick speed 23 minutes!! and I couldn't wait to break into the warm cheesy goodness. I was a little surprised to see that the pizza had no red sauce under the cheese but it was surprisingly good especially with the special green sauce they give. To be warned it has a good kick to it! Sliver hands down has one of the best thin sliced pizzas I have ever put in my mouth. Their menu is simple. Pizza of the day. Dench each bite with this signature sauce/salsa and call it a day. They have multiple locations in Berkeley that each sell a different pizza of the day so there is VARIETY. I have yet to try a flavor at Sliver I don't like. One pizza is enough to feed 3-4 people. If you get it to go pay for a tub of sauce vs they give free sauce when you sit in. Also super cute thing they do is give you 1-2 slivers of extra pizza on tops. Thoroughly enjoyed the vegan style pizza. Due to recent dietary constraints, I wanted to give this place a try and heard so many amazing things about their potato pizza. Sliver just moved locations! Don't worry, it's still as good as before, but with lots more space, chill seating areas, and a piano for some reason. Anyways, before Sliver, I never liked pizza that much - I don't really like the taste of red sauce, and I find most pizzas to be too sloppy. Sliver pizzas have no red sauce, use lots of vegetables, and are like, super tight, brah. All the toppings stick to the pizza really well, and the pizza isn't at all floppy or soggy. There are only two pizza options at Sliver - their daily pizza or a cheese pizza. I highly recommend their daily pizzas, since I don't think I've had a bad one yet. They're always vegetarian (or vegan if you request it), and they feature interesting ingredients like corn and potatoes. If there are certain toppings you don't like, check the menu on the website to plan ahead! Pizzas always come with an extra sliver or two, and most people like to top their slices with loads of the green sauce. Overall, Sliver is a super solid pizza place, albeit pretty similar to Cheeseboard and Arizmendi. Worth checking out even if you aren't a pizza person. read more

Cheap, fast, good! The green sauce is delicious. But everything tends to be quite greasy and messy. You gotta be careful that all the juices don't flow down your hand. They recently changed their sauce containers to be really tiny. It's a pain to pour sauce into the thing without spilling since the ladle is much larger than the container opening. They also changed the togo container for a couple slices to a small pizza box instead of aluminum foil and a bag. While it's nice it seems like overkill and unnecessarily wasteful. read more

I've been to every single Sliver in the Bay Area, and this Telegraph location is easily my favorite. I didn't understand why Sliver had moved to a new location, but I like it a lot better. I didn't go to Sliver a lot before because it always looked full and I didn't want to bother finding a seat when I want to eat a quick lunch by myself, but this new location has so much more room and seating. Sliver makes one main pizza a day, and in doing so, the food comes out super fast. Sometimes the toppings are hit or miss, but I really enjoyed the pizza I had most recently from them. They have a green pesto sauce I like. People often compare the sauce to Cheeseboard's which imo is a completely different sauce (garlic-y and spicy), which I like more, but both are good in their own way. Sliver is a great go-to place for college students, and even though it probably isn't healthy, looking at the vegetarian toppings makes me feel healthy. read more

You would think that this would be basically perfect, except that my slice of pizza was both rubbery and a little sweet, such that I briefly worried it was vegan. I had heard about this place when planning my visit to try Cheese Board Pizza - I noticed both places were very similar in offerings and a lot of the locals couldn't decide which one they liked best. I honestly love them both, but for slightly different reasons. PROS: -I found the line shorter here, perhaps because they don't break between the lunch and dinner hour rush. -This place is set up more pub/bar style, but seats are just as difficult to get as their competition Cheese Board Pizza. -They did get my order right the first time. -They do provide lids to the green sauce so you can take some to go with your pizza for free (unlike Cheese Board Pizza) -The crust is a little bit different from Cheese Board Pizza (only slightly), and I think the fact it is not as browned allows it to re-heat better. CONS: -The area is closer to the subway, a much busier street and not as picturesque. -The crust under the pizza wasn't as browned -The to go slices had a lot of cheese stuck to the foil by the time I got back to the hotel.. they wrapped their pizza much tighter not allowing it to cool properly. -They are a copycat of Cheese Board Pizza, not original, but they have done it very well! Overall I still give this place a 5 because the pizza and sauce was delicious - though it is clear this type of place isn't entirely original in the Berkley area. You get one type of pizza to choose from and really the decision is how much. Typically if you go to their website, you can see several days in advance on what they will be serving and work around it! Like their competition, they also offer a salad of the day though it doesn't seem they announce it ahead of time. The pizza of the day when we went had kale and sliced tomatoes, mozzarella and parmesan (no tomato sauce). The kale did not taste like kale, and if I didn't know better would think it was a pizza margherita. I do recommend going here when you are in the San Francisco area - in fact I recommend you go to both pizza places to compare and contrast or at least get two different types in one night! read more

The place was packed, so we had a member of our group secure a table outside while we waited in line. Sliver serves only one flavor of pizza per day. That's right... ONE flavor. You no likey? Well, that's just too bad! You get what you get and that's it boo! Luckily, all of their flavors are meatless for all of you herbivores out there. On this particular night, they were serving up mushroom and arugula. I waited in line for about 10 minutes and finally made it up to the counter. One slice of pizza was $3.25 each.. yikes. I guess in Berkeley land, that is reasonable... or maybe I'm just cheap :/. I decided to also try the new "Sliver Fresca" drink which consisted of raspberry, strawberry, and mint for $3.00. I paid and waited for my pizza to come out. While I waited, I scoped out the interior. They had a small full service bar area and about 3 large TV's in the dining area which was nice. The place was loud and packed with college students. I can only imagine what this place looks like on a Friday or Saturday night. I'm sure this is a prime hangout spot for students. I finally got my slices of pizza and the first thing I noticed was the mass amount of grease. This pizza was greasy AF! Excuse my language, but that is really the only way to put it. I had to dab away the grease with my napkin. The pizza was... meh. I really couldn't taste the mushroom and the arugula was literally thrown on the top like it has just been picked from a garden. I would have at least baked it into the cheese or something. Next up was the Fresca, which I wasn't feeling at all. Not really sure if it's just me, but the combo of flavors were not good together. It just didn't do it for me. Would I come again next time? Probably not. I've heard that their arch nemesis and the ORIGINAL one flavor pizza spot Cheeseboard is much better. It was worth a try. Love Sliver! This location doesn't have it easy, the person in the front is very sweet and is working really hard to keep it calm. He handles the front part by himself and one other person is making the pizzas. They definitely need to hire more people with the high volume of customers, because there will be a wait time, The disappointment was that the pizza was cold when received, assuming they were rushing through the process . So yummy! Somehow, I always find myself in Berkeley on Sundays. I pretty much only get Cheeseboard when I'm in the area, but they're not open on Sundays. And thus I tried Sliver. Everything is basically the same as Cheeseboard. Everything is vegetarian, and they have one pizza flavor that rotates every day. But the green sauce isn't as good. It doesn't have that spicy kick to it. Oh and there wasn't a 2 hour long wait for the pizza here. Which might put it above Cheeseboard? $20 for a whole pizza of the day. You can check out the flavors online, but I'm not even that picky. It's a good size to fill 3-4ppl, depending on how hangry you are. Located on telegraph so good luck finding parking. If it's Sunday, or you value your time, come to Sliver. Otherwise, Cheeseboard is the way to go! read more

The green sauce!!! Sliver's green sauce is the main reason I want to eat here all the time. (For reference, I have never tried Cheese Board) Sliver changes their pizza toppings daily, so check their website before going in if you're a picky eater! My favorite pizzas are the ones topped with corn and mushrooms. Their pizzas are more like cheesy bread (think of a flatter version of the cheese bread at Sweet Tomatoes). They have a thin crust with a generous amount of cheese + a sparse sprinkle of toppings. Their sauce is the reason I keep coming back--it's tangy with a bit of heat. It's the perfect complement to their cheesy pizza and would taste good on practically anything. For the price (a bit over $20 for a whole pizza or a few bucks for slice), I do wish that they'd be more generous with the toppings. Also, from a value perspective, not the most cost-efficient which is why I'm giving it 4-stars. read more

Sliver offers a great quality pizza for a seriously reasonable price, along with a nice environment to dine in if you choose to eat at the restaurant. The selection changes day by day, but basically every pizza I've had at Sliver has been delicious. Make sure to try the different sauces they have available, as they only add to the taste of the pizza. Sliver has a pretty good selection of drinks too, if that's your thing. One of the highlights of eating in at the restaurant is the live band. Every time I've been here when there's a band, I've really enjoyed the music and it's enhanced the eating experience. Gourmet- ish, fresh, fast, inexpensive... and the garlic sauce!!! Free! Do it! Kind of a chimichurri- ish green garlicky sauce, or a red habanero/ tomato sauce, to pour, dip or slather on your pizza.
