This place is popular for a reason! The only offer one flavor each day but it was really good when we went. There is indoors and outdoor seating as well as standing tables. There was also nice live music went i went. Taste: Pizza really tasted fresh and the flavors blended well. Parking: This was street parking so it's tricky. I heard there is plaza parking near though

My brother and sister-in-law picked up a whole pizza from Cheese Board Pizza and generously shared it with us. I was excited to try it since I've never had it and had always heard about it from friends. Roasted Eggplant, mozzarella, house made tzatziki sauce, fried spiced chickpeas, mint, parsley (4/5). Flavorful, creamy, and the spiced chickpeas added a different flavor profile. The mint and parsley was so good on this pizza. The crust was thin and crispy but where the sauce was, it could be a little soggy. I would definitely eat this pizza again! Support your local business.

I usually see a long line so I avoided this place like the plague. They also only do vegetarian options only, which is the real reason why I avoided it lol. I was all wrong about this place. The line went by quick maybe no more than 10-15 minutes. They were crunching out pizza like clockwork. The pizza crust had this crispy texture and held up well when folding. The topping didn't slide right off either. I'd have to say this was a very well made pizza. I love how they added 2 slices on top of the whole pizza. I may have to come back again soon. Highly recommend getting their green sauce. I didn't find it spicy but it eventually snuck up on me. Nice little heat!

I've heard great things about the pizza here, but never got around to trying it until now. The long lines always intimidated me. But now that I tried it, it actually wasn't bad at all! The line moved very quickly, and I was probably out with my pizza within 10 minutes. There's also plenty of outdoor seating area to quickly eat. I have to admit, I'm a picky eater when it comes to veggies. But luckily, today's pizza was a simple cheese and basil. And it was probably the best cheese pizza I've ever had! It had a perfect thin crust, and every bite had some garlic flavor too. The only reason I probably won't be returning often is the lack of protein, but that's just my personal preference. I can see how awesome this place would be for vegetarians!

Simple concept and delicious outcome. Pizza of the day was delicious and with the infamous green sauce, it's perfect. We took ours to go along with a yummy rose soft serve .

Came back to grab some pizza while we're at Berkeley. Can't go wrong with Cheeseboard pizza. We also tried the buffalo milk soft serve for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The pumpkin and chocolate flavor was rich and smooth! I can't wait to try more of their soft serve when I'm back.

Wanted to try cheeseboard because I've heard so many good things about it, but we were a bit underwhelmed by the pizza we got. Maybe it was an off day or the pizza of the day wasn't the best, but I found it to just be pretty average pizza. The menu said artichoke and feta but there was barely any of either. Essentially just a cheese pizza. Crust was good but nothing special. Price was decent for what we got, so would want to try another flavor another day. They had live music which was nice and plenty of seating outside with red pepper flakes and extra cheese. Went on a Thursday during lunch so the line was not bad either. If you have an EBT card they give you four extra slices too!

Love the vegetarian pizzas and the seasonal vegetables and toppings at Cheese Board Pizza! Today's toppings included cremini mushrooms, caramelized onions, spinach, mozzarella, cheddar, and toasted pine nuts! It was a wonderful mix of toppings and flavors. If there are certain toppings you do not like, I recommend checking out the website for the daily special. I don't like potato on pizza, so I try to avoid days that have potato as toppings! They only use organic and local ingredients whenever possible. Sometimes I get parbake if I am eating at home, which are partially baked pizzas that you can heat up for 5~8 minutes at home and enjoy fresh! They also have sauces that complement the pizzas well. I ALWAYS get the famous green sauce which has cilantro, avocado, chili, pesto, and more. Now they have 2 sizes which are 8 ounce and 16 ounce. 16 ounce is too much sometimes so it's great they offer a smaller size now! Sadly the sauce bar disappeared post-COVID. DARN YOU COVID! I FINALLY TRIED THE SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM AND I WILL GET IT EVERY TIME I GET THE PIZZA NOW! They use buffalo milk which is super fatty and creamy, perfect for ice cream. They rotate their flavors and this visit they had Dark Chocolate flavor and Pumpkin Spice flavor. I wanted to try both so they were able to provide half and half of each flavor. The dark chocolate was decadent and tasty, but too strong in flavor overpowering the pumpkin spice. I really loved the pumpkin spice, perfect blend of pumpkin, spice, and creaminess. They have live music indoors so check out the musician schedule which is always a blast.

Delish pizza. Service was super fast... they already had pies baked. Ambiance: awesome due to jazz music. I def. wish I was retired. This would be a good life.

Cheeseboard Pizza has my heart. Everything about this place is chef's kiss. There's limited seating, especially on Saturdays, but the vibes are immaculate. They have live music, and the day I went it was mostly acoustic covers. There were happy children dancing around to the music, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their time there. Service was fast too, despite there being a good amount of people. Every day they have a different pizza, and that day it was potato, red onion, cilantro, and cotija cheese. You can purchase the green sauce on the side. It was sooooo yummy! Nice, crunchy crust and thin. If you can handle spicy, definitely get the green sauce! 100000/10.

Wow! 13 years since my last review here? I'm sure we've been here at least once or twice since then. Well, today I was out and about on Tuesday with the dog. It must have been a foraging day for me because I stopped here and also a bakery on Solano. As I was driving by, I saw that the line looked very tame, maybe 10 people at the most. I found a metered space at the curb in front of Andronico's. After paying for 30 minutes of parking, I walked back to Cheese Board and got into line. The line moved at a good pace and everyone who walked away with pizza, whether it be a slice, a half-pie or a whole pie, looked happy. I opted for the full pie to go plus a small container of Green Sauce. If you've never tried it, it's worth the $2.50 for the small container of liquid spice to drizzle over your slices. I ate one slice as soon as I got back to my car. Shared some with my wife when I got home and we had it cold over the next two days. There was a trio playing live music in the corner of the restaurant. A guitar, a standing bass and a vocalist. I fail to remember their name, but they had a very pleasant sound.

Love that lemony arugula on top!

Stunning every time! Drove up from Fremont on Thursday to stock up on cherry corn scones and then had to grab a hot, fresh slice on the way out. Nothing beats a Cheeseboard run.

I have been dreaming of going to this spot for years, and it was everything I'd hope for!! Cheeseboard serves up classic Berkeley style pizza (thinner crust, no/minimal sauce, available by the slice or by half/full pies), with one flavor every day. They're known for making their own bread and cheese, then using it for their pizzas. All slices are vegetarian!!! The special of the day was mushroom/onion (with loads of parsley), and we ordered a half pizza with their famous green sauce (cilantro / chile / other ingredients that make it so fresh and zesty). The crust was crisp/well oiled with a bite - foccacia and thin crust combined forces. The mushroom onion combo was divine - the pizza would have been slightly greasy if not for the green sauce saving the day. They also had soft serve (corn and Mexican hot chocolate, available as a swirl). So smooth, so perfectly flavored, I almost ate it all first. You order at the counter (only 15 minute wait Friday at 7:40 pm, 20 min before closing, and there's some seats indoors and many benches outdoors. There was some jazz music playing for a complete vibe to eat some takeout pizza. Had a great experience supporting a neighborhood favorite, can't wait to be back!

When will the buffalo ice cream be available again?

When the buffalo blacken the Great Plains as free running and plentiful as before the white man came. Hoka Hey!

Can you order a vegan pizza without vegan cheese?

The Cheese Board is so incredible. Phone them and ask. You want a vegan pizza with no vegan cheese, and I'm sure they will help you out if at all possible. Good Luck!

    Is there gluten free crust?

Yes, you can pre order gluten free crust or obtain there until they run out.

How large are the whole and half-size pizzas?

I don't know the size in inches but the half size pizzas are 4 slices and full size are 8 (but they add two bonus slices to the full size, making it 10). I would estimate the full size pizza to be somewhere between a Domino's medium and large pizza

I don't like red onions, can one request the pizza of the day without it?

    Do they offer gluten-free crust?

Yes they do - on the website (https://cheeseboardcollective.coop/pizza/#) is a link to the right on how you can order it.

Is it near North Berkeley BART?

Cheese Board is 1.1 miles from North Berkeley BART station. And it is 0.7 miles from the Downtown Berkeley BART station, which is a little closer.

    How big are the pizzas?

They only have one size for the pizza which is about 16" inches and has 8 slices. If you order a whole pizza, they give extra thin slices of pizza on top! You can also order by the slice and half pizzas.

How many pizzas does the Cheese Board make on an average Friday or Saturday night?

I would guess in the neighborhood of 1000+, seeing the line out the door and most people ordering 1 whole pie or more. If you are talking about types of pizza they only make in style per day. Check the web or the social sites to see what it is.
