They serve water in broken glasses

The pizza itself was incredible, we got the half and half option. We came around 5:30pm so it was about that "almost" busy time where patrons started rolling in around the same time we did. There's a brewery next door so it could be a little confusing depending on where you parked. There's 2 places to park, the ideal one up front is usually full so we went to the one right the corner adjacent to brewery. Table seating is pretty normal. Watch out for strands of hair on the wall if you sit next to it. Pizza sauces are extra but I think it's a generous serving. The sauces themselves are really good too. When they serve the pizza they don't cut it out to your plate, you gotta grab it yourself which can be a hassle since it's really hot and they don't get you the utensil to pick it up, you just drag it to your plate or that's what we did. -1 star for not providing the utensil needed to get the slices off. We asked and they directly said they can't give us one. +1 star pizza was amazing +1 star sauces amazing +1 star how filling the pizza was with quality ingredients. The parm shavings were amazing and fresh Now to the final -1 star and why we won't be coming back anytime soon. When provided cups for water, our cups were VISIBLY chipped around the rim where we put our lips. We returned the first cup and they exchanged it willingly. Sat down to realize they exchanged it with ANOTHER CHIPPED CUP located on the same area as our other cup. I used my fingers to feel the rim to double check it wasn't just me, it was definitely chipped and I can feel the chip pull on the skin of fingertips. I took the cup myself back to them and let them know they gave us another chipped cup. I was confused why the young lady sighed and said they'll help me in a moment. I stood there waiting and after a few more minutes I flagged down another person and they blew me off with another "someone will help you in a sec" response. I left the cup there and shared the water cup my husband had. I cant confidently recommend this place, thought the pizza is great, as somewhere to sit down and eat in if they can't provide bare minimum utensils for customers to enjoy their pizza OR quality inspect their glass cups to prevent injuries. It's not like the chips were on the bottom, they were on the RIM where your LIPS USE. Pizza great - to go order definitely Sit down dining - no way, I would not recommend them as a sit down option.

1/2 Pepperoni and 1/2 margarita pizza

Visited on a Saturday around 6pm with a friend, restaurant was busy but no wait to order. Seating was mostly taken so we did togo and ate next door at the brewery. Food: Margarita Pizza - good, crust has a nice chewy texture, with little charged spots, sauce is light and fresh with vibrant tomato flavor, mozzarella is mild and milky with a nice chew, Parmesan on the crust and fresh basil were great to finish off the pie Pepperoni pizza - great, pepperoni cups were nice and small with a good amount of spice and crisped up in the oven nicely, the other toppings were the same as the margarita, wished there was some hot honey on the side for drizzling or dipping the crust into Service was quick and efficient, order at the counter and wait for your pie, which took maybe 10 minutes before our pizza was ready. Loved that there were lots of togo plates available when you picked up the pizza and it was conveniently next to a brewery which had ample seating and outdoor patio space. Overall June's pizza lived up to the hype, really glad we could order our pizza 1/2 and 1/2 to try both styles of the day. A great no frills spot for good pizza, very simple menu, wished the crust was a little crisper in the center and there were a few more toppings options but definitely worth a visit.

Holy smokes June is cooking up some good ass pizza. And this is coming from a girl who prefers thick crust, Detroit style pizza. This pizza had so much flavor, without an overwhelming marinara taste. The parking lot is pretty small so parking can be a bit tough. The service was pretty fast, and if not there is a brewery right next door. Who doesn't love good pizza and a beer?! Try this place. You will not be disappointed.

Don't judge a book by its cover! Late night on a Friday and we were starving. Either many places closing down or required a reservation- Junes Pizza looked like the only option. I have been to West Oakland plenty of times, but usually not at night especially around 11pm. We ended up driving right past this location and had to loop around. From the outside it's a warehouse with no real visible sign. Pulled up into the parking lot where there were some other cars - only way I knew that we must be at the right spot. Right before you walk in there is a wooden sign for the place - but on the ground :) You walk in and it's bustling! There were people there and they have a decent size for seating. There are only two types of pizza...ever. I asked the staff if they change it up and the said no. Judgment started to creep in as I thought - how can the stay in business with only two pizza options that are almost identical....well the reason why is cause their pizza is DELICIOUS!!!! They have a normal margarita pizza and then margarita with pepperoni. Pizza came out quickly and was so thin and flavorful I was truly blown away. Yea would other pizza options be nice if course, but when the food is so flavorful I don't see why the need to fix something that is already perfect. 100% will come Back

First time to June's! Given the hype, we would be worried it would be super busy but we came an hour after opening on a weekday and grabbed a table right away. We wanted to have leftovers to eat through the week so we got 2 whole pizzas+ both rotating sauces. Pepperoni - mini pepperonis evenly spread out and not too salty or oily! Margarita - they put extra red sauce for this pizza and it was perfect with the amount of cheese on top + the giant basil leaves. Chipotle aioli was great for dipping the thin crust, but the caramelized onion sauce was AMAZING and sweet , perfect for adding on top of any pizza! Our favorite parts: the thin crust and basil! We also loved watching them slide the tickets on the mini zipline. Great experience overall and we will be back!!!

Jan 15 2026 4pm 4.0 stars A thirty minute drive for us. We arrived at 3:45 pm. "Oh good" says I. "The front door is open with a welcoming 'OPEN' sign taped on it". We walk in and promptly are told they aren't open till 4pm. We go back to the car to wait. 4pm -The restaurant is clean and the employees are smartly uniformed and seem eager to please. The long haired blond cashier fellow is a champ. Frendly and he is cleaning and polishing during down time while other down time employees are huddled around a coworker's cell phone. I hope the phoneys wash their hands. Jazz music is playing pumped in. This music was pleasant until the restaurant filled with customer's voices competing with each other and the jazz speakers for sound wave band width. You can have any flavor and size pizza you want today. This, as long as you want a large Pepperoni or Margherita pizza or a half and half large pizza. One flavor pizza was $35. Soda $5. All plus Tax for the privilege of dining in Oakland, California. We chose the Margherita as we didn't see the "$37.50 half and half" message scrawled on the bottom left of the overhanging hand written menu. Sadly it looked like they have one beer tap labeled "Beer". I have no clue what type it is. Never mind that. I passed. No diet cola here for those pre-diabetics. Sorry wifey. You serve yourself water, paper plates and napkins. These are found next to the water jugs. No ice. I'm pro Ice. The Men's restroom is spacious (a double staller) and clean. That cleanliness is a good sign. We are amazed at the number of employees standing around at opening hour. Maybe seven? I tell my sweetheart that June's must have a good product and the customers must flood in later in the evening to pay all those employee's wages. The pizza is served piping hot the way I like it. It sports a tasty wood fired oven crust. Slices fold in half and stand up proud. Very tasty dough. I can't stand the waste and eat my wife's discarded crusts. The huge pie size is an illusion as the crust dough is spread thin. You will be suprised how many slices you can down. It was very tasty, though when the last slices cool off they lost some of their charm and the tomato sauce began to taste a bit acidic. My wife didn't notice the acidity so maybe I just had a bad bite. A 45 minute drive home. We may go back. I see there is a brewery next door.

I love this place and I am coming back! Pizza is yummy and definitely try their sauce!! Cashier in the red cap is kind. Good vibes and good amount of people in and out of the restaurant!

Tried this place for the first time on a Saturday at 5pm. Line wasn't long yet, waited like 2 minutes. Parking was terrible though. I just got lucky and after circling the block a spot opened up in the lot. My friend and I shared a margherita pizza and had 2 slices left over. We also got the house white wine. We sat at the counter and loved watching the pizzas being made. We liked the old pizza parlor feel of the place. The pizza is divine. And I'm a pizza snob cause I grew up in NYC. The crust, the sauce, the cheese. All so good. Will definitely be back!

Doesn't get more hipster than this. Pizza cred from fine dining cutting of teeth. Warehouse-y space in a semi-gentrified area of West Oakland that nobody in their right mind would have entered 2005 and earlier. Now it is crawling with puffy jackets, tapered pants/sweats, designer eyewear and strollers. On a weekend early evening the place was pretty darn crowded. Order at a table with an employee behind a POS register. Pretty barebones, super legit tiled pizza ovens open to be viewed, pizza cooks in full busy action. There are few tables, which get taken quick, but many get it to-go, and many take it to the brewery next door, which we were one of those. ONLY 1 size, a thin crust large. ONLY 2 types of pizza, a cheese and a pepperoni. The meat version may change, not sure. But you can do a half n half of the 2 types. For having such tight offerings, people were still lining up for this. Half n Half Pizza ($35/4*) The Crust: They use a sourdough crust. I could taste it slightly, but not as overwhelming as sourdough bread. For some reason I tasted it more when it was fresh on my first few bites. After that not really. There is a super nice chew to this dough, bubbles big time in that oven. No significant crispness, so to me this was closer to a Neapolitan style versus NY style. They do char this thing pretty aggressively, not on the bottom but the outer edges. The outer crust has several pockets of black/burnt spots, which I don't care for. I know they are actually trying to achieve this, but I find myself ripping extra burnt crust off, so it is kinda wasteful to me. The Sauce: Very sparse distribution. Sure it is there but the tomato flavor is very mild. Again more Neapolitan style versus NY style where the sauce is more concentrated tomato flavor with big hits of oregano. I'm definitely more of NY slice type of dude, more satisfying to me. The Cheese: Not sure what the main cheese is but it is very light. It literally just melds into the sauce without any cheese pull. I'm totally fine with this as I'm not a fan of heavily cheesed pizzas. But in what you lose in creamy cheese sensation, they return it in almost comical amounts of freshly grated parm all on the outer crust of the pizza. When parm is shredded in a fine grater like this, the shreds are super fine and delicate. Does add a stealthy boom of umami in the bites but also very messy as the grated parm falls all over the place. The Toppings: The pepperoni were the super tiny version. Not as salty as conventional American pizzerias. I loved it. In the take-out box they also put super fresh whole basil clusters on the corners of the box. The basil is still on the stems, so you have to rip it yourself onto your slices. I love fresh basil on pizza, so I didn't mind doing the extra work. Never seen this approach before, gotta be that hipster edge. Glad I finally tried them. And since I am now a fan of the brewery next door, this can definitely be a nice combo going forward. Pizza and beer hipster style, not so mad at it.

June's Pizza is tucked away on a bit of an obscure street and housed in what looks like an old industrial warehouse, with the high ceilings, open space, and cool, minimalist vibe giving the place a bit of an unexpected charm and a unique vibe that I kind of dig. The menu keeps things simple, with just margherita or pepperoni as the staples, plus a rotating special that changes regularly, and I love that they offer an option for half-and-half pies, which is exactly what I went for. We grabbed ours to go but couldn't resist trying a slice fresh out of the oven, and it absolutely hit the spot. The undercarriage is thin but sturdy enough for that classic fold-and-bite moment, with a great chew and just the right scattering of char and blistered edges throughout and extending into the crust. The red sauce is bright and tangy, the pepperoni brings a savory kick (without being overly oily or salty) with a little spice, and the cheese is creamy and rich. Bonus points for the generous snowfall of shredded parmesan that gets rained down across the entire pie and the thoughtful touch of tucking the fresh basil off to the sides for takeout so it stays fresh and unwilted in transit. The staff were friendly and we had a fresh, piping-hot 18-inch pie in under 10 minutes. At that size and quality, the value is hard to beat as it easily feeds 4 people (or fewer with plenty of leftovers!). We went right when they opened around 4 p.m. so there was no line but I would absolutely wait to have this fresh as it's that good (and also since they don't take phone or online orders ha).

Delicious pizza! We were a group of 4 and decided to get half pepperoni and half marg. Slices were big, 8 slices were in the pie. We also tried the garlic sauce, that was delicious as well. We arrived 30 minutes after it opened, so we were able to find parking quickly. They do have a parking lot out front. Also, since we arrived early, seating was readily available for a group of 4 as well. It was a great spot to eat with friends.

Big pizza for $36!!! Loved the shredded cheese and basil on the side. Right next to a brewery so very convenient if you want a snack. Thin crust and not too saucey.

June's Pizza is delicious, and we've been there a few times now, usually late at night, so we've only had the Margherita pizza. They're especially known for their sourdough crust, and they've absolutely got it down. The crust has great flavor and texture and really sets their pizza apart. The space itself adds to the experience. It's a minimalist, industrial spot with an open kitchen. At night, the place takes on a moody vibe with lights and good music, making it a great late night hangout. I also love their story, they started as a pandemic pop-up and have since reopened as a brick-and-mortar restaurant, and the quality shows in everything they do. Great pizza, great atmosphere, service, and a spot I'll definitely be back to.

Soppresata - an OG item on the menu and one of my favorites. Simple classic pizza with soppresata topped with scallions and honey. Savory, sweet. The honey is perfect on this pizza. Longanisa - Filipino inspired with longanisa, baked egg, and tomato. Savory and sweet. Heaviest of the three pizzas. Comes with a side of sweet vinegar to drizzle on top. At least I got to go a couple times before they closed and was able to try all the unique flavors that I wanted to try. The first time I went was with my family. We got a whole Ube pizza. The taste was good, and love the uniqueness of it. Even the dough is purple! There weren't that many people there when we went, so the service was quick. My second visit was closing weekend with a group of friends. I got to try two more flavors recommended by the server during my first visit - blackberry and longanisa. Both were very good in different ways. I think I preferred the blackberry slightly over longanisa. They had a lot of take out orders that day, and we got the last white dough (there were still Ube). Good thing we got what we got. Even though they were super busy, the service was still quick and pizza came out fast. I heard they opened up again in San Francisco but for take out only. So glad they reopened because after having the amazing pizzas right before they closed on Oakland, my friends and I were sad that we didn't go sooner. Can't wait to try again in the future.

Their pizzas are already reliably delicious, but this deal is genuinely outstanding value since you get a large 18" pizza, your choice of a Caesar or dinner salad, and four very large sea salt chocolate chip cookies, all for $35. We grabbed two of these specials for a group of six and still had leftovers, so I'd say one combo easily feeds three people and could probably stretch to four as long as no one is absolutely starving. The pizzas themselves are ultra thin but still hold up structurally since you can lift and fold each slice without everything collapsing, which is exactly how I like to inhale my pizza. I personally wish the crust were just a touch more burnt and crackly on the edges, but even without that extra char, the flavor and bouncy chew of the dough were spot on. We ordered the Hot Italian and the Sausage & Roasted Garlic pies and absolutely loved both, especially the housemade sweet Italian sausage that appears on each, which is savory, slightly sweet, and super satisfying in every bite. Their house tomato sauce deserves its own shout out because it hits that ideal balance of sweetness and acidity and ties everything together perfectly. On the Sausage & Roasted Garlic it plays beautifully with the rich roasted garlic purée, and on the Hot Italian it stands up nicely to the Calabrian chilis and chili oil without getting lost. The sea salt chocolate chip cookies that come with the special are huge and packed with chocolate chips, and that little hit of salt really enhanced the flavors but the something about the texture was a bit off for me as it wasn't quite chewy or crumbly but rather something in between, which left me a little confused. Another big plus is that Violetta has a full bar so you can pair your meal with a beer, a glass of wine, or a cocktail to match whatever pie you are in the mood for. Between the quality of the ingredients, the thoughtfulness of the flavor combinations, and the generosity of the Restaurant Week deal, Pizzeria Violetta is an easy recommend and a spot I would happily return to with a group (or by myself with plenty of leftovers!).

I feel like I'm not being punished because I cannot eat wheat and the pizza is very, very, very good. I usually don't have the way more than five minutes once I get to the pizzeria. Because my pizza is ready. Contrast that to another place where I would go, have to go to the front and order my pizza, and then get in a very very very very very very very very, very, very very long line and ask for my pizza. I pity the person who doesn't read the directions telling them to do this and weights for up to an hour in a line and find out that they have the weight even longer for their pizza to be ready. This place is fast and efficient. The inside is fine. It is nice and clean and while there aren't a lot of people there, it seems well taken care of. I think the reason why there aren't so many people there because most of the pieces are taken to go. But that's just a guess. This is a spot with a very good pizza and it comes at a decent price. I'd recommend it to anyone.!

We were able to park across the street in a free parking lot since street parking is null in the area. There were only a few customers when we arrived at 1:30pm on a Saturday. The pizza of the day was a mushroom pie, without the mushroom since my husband dislikes it. The cheese was thick and the crust could've been cooked longer so that it would be crispier. Not sure if the pizza didn't taste as good since it was customized, but I would like to give it another try if I'm ever in the area again. The cost of a whole pizza is $25, which is on the steeper side given that there is no protein.

The decor, the attitude, and the music all lean into it--they were blasting metal while I was there, which gives the place a fun, high-energy vibe that feels a little different from your typical pizza spot. If you're into that scene, you'll probably love it. The setup is super casual. You order at the counter and can hang out while you wait. They've got a great beer selection, and there's even an arcade area where you can play some games while your food is being made. It feels like the kind of place where you could easily kick back with friends for a while. I went with the Mortian, their all-meat pizza, and it was absolutely packed with toppings--pepperoni, sausage, and bacon, all garnished with prosciutto. If you're a meat lover, this one delivers. Every slice was loaded and really flavorful. The crust deserves a shout-out too. It's not thin crust, but it's also not deep dish. It lands right in that perfect middle zone--crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Really satisfying and a great base for all those toppings. Even though I ordered it to go, the pizza held up great and was seriously delicious. I'd absolutely order their pizza again and look forward to trying more of the menu next time.

The elote pizza came with a slice of lime and we really loved the creativity and flavors. It took almost an hour for our 1 pizza to come out- that being said, it seemed like they had a lot of online orders and a lot of the folks who ordered in also had to wait a very long time. I'd recommend ordering to-go from here vs. waiting in person.

Sometimes, the pizzas are a little overcooked which causes the crust to be extra crispy and a little burnt. But it doesn't change the deliciousness of it. It doesn't matter what they put on the pizza of the day, I know it's going to be tasty. Arizmendi's pizza 100% makes me forget about meat on pizza. I have tried a couple of their baked goods, which have always been good as well. They also have soups of the day, which I surprisingly haven't tried. If you're ordering more than 1 pizza, I'd recommend calling ahead of time so that you don't have to wait a while. There's typically 2 cashiers, always a small line, but you'd be in and out under 30 minutes max. No music, just the sounds of pure hustle trying to get everyone served. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating so keep that in mind. Parking may be tricky as well as there are a lot of surrounding businesses.

Everyone has causes they care about, and many of us do our own advocacy in different ways, but not everyone wants to sign petitions while trying to cross the street or grab lunch. Today, one person became very insistent when I politely declined. He then accused me (and apparently others) of not wanting to engage because of his skin color, which was completely inappropriate and inaccurate. My decision had nothing to do with our skin .. I simply was not interested in signing anything or stopping to discuss a petition at that moment. It escalated to the point where two other women nearby also felt uncomfortable enough to respond. One said, "This is not the way to do it," and another said, "I don't even have money." It was unfortunate that his approach put people in that position. Just a heads up for anyone visiting: be prepared to be approached at the crosswalk, especially since the light can be long. On a positive note: the pizzeria itself was busy, but everyone inside was pleasant, I found a quiet corner to sit, the coffee was warm, and my $3 slice and $1.25 coffee hit the spot.
