    Buffalo chicken and pepperoni slice
    Corina S.

Love Temescal, Neighbourhood had this pizza for the first time. There is a separate line to order slices and pizza on the spot or you could order online and pick up in a different door. They had a little bit of seating outside, but no indoor sitting. The employees were super nice and helpful very attentive to the tables to make sure they were clean ready for the next guest. I got a slice of the buffalo chicken and my husband got a slice of the pepperoni. These slices were huge and very tasty. When you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop by and grab a slice. A slice goes for about five dollars.

Accidentally found this place while walking around on Telegraph. Had a slice of Detroit style and it was very good. The sauce had a nice tang to it and the crust a great crunch. It's in a difficult area for parking and not many seats inside.

More of a take out spot as seating is maybe enough for 10 people total. That said the pizza was yummy!! I liked the stracciatella one a lot as well as the pesto. I would def go again. Service was friendly and they made the smaller pizzas pretty quick.

These guys are pizza wizards. This is the best cheese slice I think I've ever had. It's up there with some of the best slices in NY. Wow, I was kinda blown away when I had my first bite. My expectations were high due to my brother hyping it up and it exceeded them. It checks all the boxes... the dough was straight magic and the sauce and cheese was exotic and erotic. I can't wait to go back. Only thing I can ask for is halal meat if they can look into that.... Hats off guys!!!!

Pizza so crunchy, you can easily hear yourself chew. I will be coming back here again for sure because I love Detroit style, and they have some good flavors! Easy for on the go or if you wanna enjoy the sun casually on an outside table watching the passers by.

Brought my old New Yorker friends, historian couple w high standards for food. And Pizza Ponte passed the test. They had the cheese. Which Andrea said was the real test of the joint, and it passed, they thought it was good! The service was good! The kind young man offered Andrea spicy ranch, she made a face walking out the door, and I explained - she's a New Yorker, the feller sitting outside heard & chimed in, "You want pineapple w/ that?!?" jokingly as he's also from NY! Haha

Wow, why haven't I tried this until now!? This is a solid pizza place. I would highly recommend this spot! This pizza is nice and crisp. The toppings are minimal but perfect! It's cool that the place is open late. They got outdoor and indoor seating. They do pizza by the slice and they make sure it's nice and toasty for you. The people are friendly and chill too! You can tell they put in the work!

This place has an astonishingly legit array of NY-style slices. I somehow overlooked it for years, and boy do I regret it. The burrata slice! Even the straight cheese slice never fails to satisfy. Not much seating here so you may have to eat it on the run, but it is still worth it.

Pizza Ponte is a true hidden gem in the East Bay! This is a fast casual spot, you can sit outside or take to go. The service is fast and the staff is very friendly. I got the Sicilian-style pepperoni w/ ricotta cheese and a slice of the green goddess and they were phenomenal. The pizza was perfectly cooked, crispy but not hard. 10/10 will be making this a regular spot.

A hidden gem! Decided upon Pizza Ponte in the midst of a late night pizza craving, and it did not disappoint! I am a fan of NY style pizza as is, but I was blown away by the fluffy flavorful crust and mouth-watering presentation. I got a make-your-own pizza with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, and bell peppers, and topped with basil, stringy parmesan and tasty ranch dressing. Enjoyed this delicious mouthful on their cute outdoor seating area on a warm night. Great experience, and I am without a doubt making my way back to Pizza Ponte!

What a delightful surprise finding this quaint pizza shop in Temescal. We shared 3 slices: Buffalo chicken, green goddess, and square slice with everything. The crust was perfection and both the chicken and green pesto slices were delicious. The pizza also came with a nice smoky sauce in a bottle. I thought that was a nice touch.

    Classic Cheese Pizza, pepperoni pizza

This is our new favorite pizza spot in the east bay! Love that you can get different styles of pizza all at the same place. My favorites are the green goddess NY slice which has a delicious white sauce and lots of garlic. The pepperoni nonna is also delicious but super big and filling so great for sharing. The classic cheese was good but need some more flavor in my opinion (maybe some more sauce). I thought the d-town was too thick and bready so I'd stick to the classic slices and the nonna. If you're looking for a solid slice shop that has nice crispy crust, this is your place. Also get the spicy ranch, trust me.

What a great place for after 9PM quick bites as they have one of the best pizza by the slice in my opinion. There was a line but it move pretty quickly. I would take about 10 min for the hot from the oven slice to come out. Be sure you have another name if your name are already been used, it was funny when the waitress said pick a new name. It's just a hole in the wall fast food style, with some table outside and a small counter to eat inside. There is a fridge to grab dessert, salad and drink. Overall, I like both the Detroit style as well as the NY pie. The crust was crispy outside yet soft and airy inside. Saude was light, flavor full and the shaved parm was perfect addition. We had the buffalo chicken, pepperoni, green goddess and D town. All were equally good. We will try to order a made our own next time. The tiramisu was also excellent, creamy, not too sweet and perfect texture for the lady fingers. Needless to say we told our family and friends to come and try too.

Crust had some char and could use some more bubbling in the center. Not sure if the temperature or thermal mass of the oven is just a tad low. Sauce was also excellent. Cheese was genuine mozz but with sparse coverage and no browning. Lots of parm finely shredded. Only slices or a whole (large) pie. Only two varieties. Plain and pepperoni. Overall, again the best New Haven pizza I've had on the west coast. By New Haven standards, a solid B+. Price was a bit expensive. Judging by the line out the door, that was not impeding sales in any way although the parking lot and beards suggest a healthy dot com and rich AI hipster contingent. There's a microbrewery next door and many people were walking their pizza over to have brews and pizza. Four stars means I'd definitely go if hungry but not sure if I'd drive out of my way to go.

My second visit was closing weekend with a group of friends. I got to try two more flavors recommended by the server during my first visit - blackberry and longanisa. Both were very good in different ways. I think I preferred the blackberry slightly over longanisa. They had a lot of take out orders that day, and we got the last white dough (there were still Ube). Good thing we got what we got. Even though they were super busy, the service was still quick and pizza came out fast. I heard they opened up again in San Francisco but for take out only. Soppresata - an OG item on the menu and one of my favorites. Simple classic pizza with soppresata topped with scallions and honey. Savory, sweet. The honey is perfect on this pizza. Longanisa - Filipino inspired with longanisa, baked egg, and tomato. Savory and sweet. Heaviest of the three pizzas. Comes with a side of sweet vinegar to drizzle on top. All three of these pizzas easily are favorites for me. They're super large and best to share with 2-3 people. I don't know why the pies cost so much, but they are only a few blocks from our place, so I want to support the few restaurants that set up shop in West Oakland. However, I'm starting to sour on this place. I don't mind overpaying for pizza; that's just edible, but on a few occasions, I've been appalled by what these folks try to get away with. A couple of months ago, they gave us a pie that was so burnt I had to call to complain, and they replaced it with a less burnt pie. Perhaps they don't know that extremely burnt food is full of carcinogens. This week, we ordered our usual 18-inch pie. This pie was a Frankenstein pie; half of it tasted like it had been sitting under the lamp all day. A telltale sign is how stiff the cheese is; the old dough feels as if I'm chewing on rubber, and the slices are stiff and salty overall, though some slices taste a bit fresher and crunchier. I was disappointed. If you're going to overcharge for mediocre pizza, the least you could do is give people what they are paying for. If I wanted old, stale pizza, I would've asked for the slices that sit under the lamp all day. Moving forward, if we order from this place, I will walk over, place the order, and wait for it, so we don't get cheated again. This place is a reminder of why certain restaurants often fail. The food is overpriced, and they are inconsistent with their service, if not disrespectful, in how they sometimes treat and feed their customers. We're not pigs; we just like eating the sweet little pig.

The decor, the attitude, and the music all lean into it--they were blasting metal while I was there, which gives the place a fun, high-energy vibe that feels a little different from your typical pizza spot.
