The brewery has great beer, which compliments the delicious neopolitan type pizza dough.... maybe am wrong on the type of pizza. I don't make it and name it, I just eat it. Been coming here for a while now, I want to say years, but I don't remember the first time. I typically get a pepperoni, add shrooms and garlic. Or a Marg add pepperoni. Plus a side of shishitos which have to be the best in the dam worlds, 2nd best so far Zuma in Vegas. Try them out. Best Espresso Martini in the world. Nevertheless, I would check this spot out. I finally experienced Citizen Pizza at first Friday so I can't talk about parking or their usual location. All I can say is I had my heart set on burgers but walking past their long line and fresh pizza smell made me get their pizza for the night. We started off with their pineapple pizza, Don Ho? I didn't get that one but it was so delicious that someone else went back to get another one. We were a party of six and all starving so we devoured the first and second pizza pretty quickly. We had the option to get something else but when I say the pizza was that good, we went back to order a 3rd. This time we got what was called the mothership which had Brussels sprouts, pesto, avocado and more. It was all things green which made me understand why it was called the mothership, but it was just as good as the pineapple and jalapeño. When I tell you there were many different food options each with lines just as long, we waiting for this line 3 different times. I already have. Y heart set on visiting their Oakland location when I crave pizza. This spot is amazing, and their customer service was incredible for something that was so busy. read more

One of my go to pizza spots in the bay. They used to be by Fieldworks but now they're by Original Pattern Brewery. Original Pattern has great beer as well. The beer compliments the pizza so well. Delicious pop up pizza spot! Creative combinations fresh from the wood-fire. Decent amount of outdoor seating and connected to a brewery. The patio area is a pet friendly which my pup definitely considered a plus. Pies are a nice size for two folks (or leftovers) and prices are reasonable! Put it on your list! read more

Drove past Citizen Pizza in front of Original Pattern Brewing in Jack London Square and had to stop to finally try one of their thin crust pies. This is one of Original Pattern's regular "home" pop-up food vendors, and they are experts at what they do. Their space is located on the patio outside, and they have three pizza ovens for preparing all hot menu options. From an amazing crust with flavor and perfect pizza oven char to the unique topping combinations in every menu option, you can't go wrong. We were lucky to arrive before closing time on a slow Sunday afternoon, so got an order in for pizza and shishito peppers. We found seats, grabbed a few brews from Original Pattern, and then in no time our food was ready. Pizza crust had great structural integrity and held up to the toppings. I got the unusually named Devil's Doorbell, and it definitely rang the delicious bell for me! Roasted corn and pepperoni played well together, and the fresh basil and garlic amped up the flavor. A great combo of late-summer yumminess. Pie size is great for sharing with another, but if you're hungry you can easily leave happy and full finishing one by yourself with a delicious Original Pattern beer to wash it all down. We came to the brewery tonight just looking for a light appetizer, but as soon as we walked by this pizzeria the smell of fresh bread and pizza coming out of the oven completely stopped us in our tracks. We couldn't resist and ended up ordering not one but three different pizzas. Honestly, it turned out to be one of the best pizza experiences I've had in a very long time, maybe even my life. Everything about it was spot on. The crust was perfectly thin and crisp, the flavors were incredible, and you could tell it was made with real care. What stood out to me was all the little details: instead of prepackaged Parmesan packets, they grate it fresh right onto your pizza. The ranch was homemade (and I'm usually picky about ranch, but theirs was delicious), and every bite of the pizza was next-level good. I also want to give a huge shoutout to Jeronica and Jeremy, who were cooking the pizzas. They were both fantastic Cooks and super friendly, and most importantly, so sweet to our little poodle, Julia Roberts, which we really appreciated. They're not just great at what they do, they're warm, welcoming people who make the whole experience even better. The beer at the brewery was solid, but the pizza is the reason I'd come back again and again. Five stars, no question! I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

This spot is located just outside of a brewery. Each pie is made fresh out of the outdoor pizza ovens they use. The size of each pie is more of a personal size since each slice is basically paper thin. However, we split it between three people since we were going on a fun "pizza crawl" in the city that day lol. We got the mothership which included brussel sprouts, pesto, ricotta, sesame seeds, and red onion. The cheese was also very delicious but I really liked the uniqueness of toppings they offered and how fresh the ingredients taste! Workers are friendly and pizzas come out in less than 10-15 minutes. I'm super happy that Good to Eat graduated to their own space, but I wish they left one of their apprentices here. Went to Citizen Pizza as they setup shop right next to Calicraft. Beer and pizza - yeast siblings that were born to go together. We ordered an Outside Voice, Margherita, and a Last Bell. Took 20 or so minutes to get our food as they're made to order in limited oven space. The crust is quite nice - super thin and has some chew to it. However, due to the thickness, the pizzas don't go to far - 2 people could easily take one of these down. Flavors are great. The Outside Voice is super unique and tastes like a baked potato. Minor complaint - the crusts get quite a bit of char too them - more than most of our group liked. Looking forward to trying out some of their other interesting flavors next time. read more

Perfect crust! If you like think Neapolitan style pizzas this is the spot. I tried the knucklehead for the first time at califraft at Walnut Creek only to find that they were even closer to me by original pattern at jack london. Wonderful flavor and good crispy crust (ordered the sausage pie and added pepperoni). Location was Friday at Cali-Craft (WC, CA). Quick easy buzzer service for a quintessentially artisanal dish. Only drawback for me was cost because I could easily have eaten two of those pies, but you make me look good in that regard (an exuberant appetite, being indicative of vibrant health in certain cultures/times etc.), as opposed to me being a loaf and full as hell off two slices of crap pizza, but my musings are to nothing )...so I guess I can't complain. Also asking for an item to be 'lower cost' is like asking to defer the doomsday asteroid, and I suppose I would just be better off eating whatever pizza I can procure in the face of such things. What pushed CP to near the top of list, the fact they are co-located with Original Pattern Brewing. To be honest not the biggest OP fan (never like beer places that charge tax) but the ambience and vibe is cool and laid bag. The folks behind the bar are knowledgeable and good humored. But that's talk for the OP review. Let's talk pizza. The negative first. The price. Holy hell some of these pies are $22-25 for a medium size pizza. I e tried four of the pizzas on the menu from the traditional Margherita to the kitchen sink with Promesa and a few in between including the Outside Voice and Don Ho. First time having pineapple on my pie, just days before flying to Oona for vacation. Overall the pizzas are very good, even the vegan offering, Promisa. Coming from a vegan lifestyle in the past, this was an interesting offering and while it didn't look as good as some of the other pizzas, it tastes good. No longer a fan of the vegan meats or cheeses this is a solid offering for those who are. The pizzas are done in a pizza oven giving them a nicely charred crust that is hand tossed. The flavors for the more traditional pizzas are good. Not that I've ever put tater tots on a pie. But on the Outside Voice it worked with the caramelized onions and and chipotle cream. Overall if you want to enjoy some good pizza with good beer with good vibes, I do recommend CP for those pizzas when in and around Jack London. read more

Today was the second time I've tried out Citizen Pizza. Both times, I've tried out their pizza while visiting Fieldworks in Berkeley. On my first visit, I tried out the Don Ho -- pepperoni, pineapple, red sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, & pickled jalapeno. On today's visit, I tried out the Outside Voice -- tots, bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar, mozzarella, garlic purée, scallion, & chipotle crema. The flavor combinations here are creative and delicious. I wish I had a larger appetite or came with more friends so I could try out more of their pizzas. The sourdough crust has just the right amount of chew and the heat from the Ooni oven puffs up the dough nicely and provides just the right amount of char. If you see Citizen Pizza at your local brewery, I would definitely recommend trying out one of their pies. read more

The pizzas came out about 25 minutes after we placed our order, just as the chef (Jeffrey Amber) had predicted. We also got some mixed green salads @$10; they were fine but not especially worthy of a Yelp. We ordered some pizza here during "Oktoberfest" at the Original Pattern Brewery. A delicious thin crust Pizza Margherita was my favorite. It tasted authentic like I remembered from my childhood in Europe. And there were lots and lots of customers getting pizza despite two other food venues on site. Way to go!!! read more
