Only tried the sauce but that was delish. Side salad is fine - nice to have some greens with lunch. The focaccia is also ok - i prefer a little more olive oil but understand that might be pricy. the cookies are fine, tho i'm curious about the cannelloni since they all got swooped up before i got to taste! the eggplant parmigiana was interesting. very thin slices stacked so it missed the velvety soft flesh and was too carby for me. would skip next time. still interested in the other pasta shapes so will be back. read more

I typically review yelp ahead of time but I tried this place on a whim. The service was great but the panini was not to my liking. Think of workplace food, it just did not do it for me. I would come back for the pastas, but definitely will avoid the panini's. I only got it because it seemed easier to eat as a to go option. Too dry and I had to go home and put it on the George Foreman grill and add condiments to make it bearable. read more

Offering fresh pastas and delicious sauces. The lunch special includes bread and salad, which will keep you plenty full. The ambiance is relaxed and friendly; you can find communal tables in the market or sit at the two tables designed for the restaurant. The lunch special runs Monday to Friday from 11am-4pm and it cost $15! Pro tip: The cannoli is delicious, but because the cream is piped before ordering, it can be a little soft on the bottom (not soggy), just not as crunchy. Second visit and decided on the weekday lunch special ($15) with choice of select pasta + sauce, a side salad, and focaccia bread. I also added an italian soda (cherry flavor) and pistachio canoli for dessert. I chose the paccheri pasta with bolognese (tried the putanesca sauce last time and also recommend that) this time. Everything in the combo was good, but somehow the focaccia bread (which doesn't come warmed or toasted) tasted a bit stale to me this time. The Italian soda was made on the spot with a mixture of Italian syrup in the flavor your order and some Italian sparkling water, with a lot of ice. The pistachio canoli I tried was also OK, not exceptional. The pasta and sauce however, were very good. Had a nice al dente feel and the meat sauce had a good balance in flavor and stuck to the pasta well. They also have additional desserts, pastries, cookies - as well as imported Italian pantry goods for sale. A great place to grab a panini or lunch special at the Prescott Market! Great selection of panini and pasta dishes with sauces. They also have Italian goods for sale on the shelves and a nice selection of cold Italian sodas in the cooler. I had the Porchetta Panini and a couple of cannolis, and they hit the spot. The counter service staff were nice and pleasant. The seating area is small, but you can branch out into the shared seating area next to it. I will definitely be coming back to try the Mortadella Panini next. read more

A wonderful addition to the Oakland area is Fatto A Mano.Bench seating & a few tables allow you to casually enjoy your meal. Since there was only 1 cook, it took a little while. Order: Bolognese Fusilli w/side salad & bread- the sauce had a mild taste w/nice ground beef pieces & the fusilli was a little doughy so next time I would choose spaghetti noodles. The salad was superb with light drizzle of balsamic dressing & cheese that added the saltiness. It was excellent from start to finish. We ordered the Panini Porchetta on ciabatta. First of all the bread was not ciabatta. It was more like a sourdough texture and was very dry. The pork belly was extremely chewy and very oily. Half way through eating, we found a very hard piece of mayo inside the sandwich (see photo). Everything about this sandwich was just not good and not an enjoyable experience. I love visiting Prescott Market. The vibe is so good, and I don't think I've ever seen a grumpy person there. It's a little pocket of West Oakland where everyone seems to be having a good day. I've been salivating over Fatto A Mano's fresh pasta display for months, so today I finally tried it. I went with the lunch special, which comes with a pasta of your choice of shape and sauce, a salad, and a couple of focaccia breadsticks. At a very reasonable price of $15. The salad was simple but fresh: spring mix, goat cheese, and balsamic. The focaccia wasn't particularly noteworthy on its own, but it turned out to be an excellent tool for scooping up every last bit of sauce, which is arguably its most important job. And then there was the pasta. I got the paccheri Bolognese and, boy, was it a stunner. Those silky loops of paccheri are the perfect match for a hearty Bolognese. Each bite had that toothsome pasta texture alongside the rich, savory sauce. It was a symphony of flavor and texture- if we're going to get dramatic about it. I could not get enough of that pasta. In fact, I was already mourning the loss of that particular bite when I remembered they sell their fresh pasta to go. So naturally, I purchased some. Problem solved. Kind staff, great prices, excellent fresh pasta, and a location where apparently nobody is allowed to have the grumps. I'll be a happy customer for a long time to come. read more

I love that Prescott Market continues to bring new eateries into the fold like Fatto A Mano, a new-ish Italian pasta spot. They also offer soup, salads, paninis, and a fun array of Italian desserts (and cookies). What's fun about their pasta choices is the fact that you can choose what type of pasta style/shape and sauce. They also have kiddo sizes too. We went with the gnocchi and butter/cheese as the sauce (kid's portion) which also comes with bread. It's restaurant week in Oakland until 3/22 and they have a brunch/lunch special ($15) for any bowl of pasta/sauce/side salad/homemade focaccia. Prescott has a few other eateries apart of restaurant week too! Love that they're in the mix. The kid's portion is still a healthy size (see pic). I'm excited to come back and bring some Italian cookies to my parents, while enjoying a nice bowl of comforting pasta. Bucatini with bolognese is calling my name ($22). Fatto A Mano is located in the corner next to Fast Times (the smash burger spot). They have some Italian market goods too which is a nice touch. I noticed they also do catering and sell gift cards. This is a lovely italian eatery at the Prescott Market, selling soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta, and tasty dishes like lasagna. Ordered dinner here this past Friday evening. Service was standard, and the wait time was reasonable, about ten minutes. I got the salame piccante panini on focaccia, minus the rhubarb. The sandwich was a good size and generously stacked with fresh and delicious ingredients. Particularly, the pecorino cheese with a sharp flavor and the peppery salame stood out. However, with a lack of sauce or condiments in the panini, it was very dry... like "knock-off-2-stars" dry. Luckily, I grabbed some herb ranch from another eatery in the food hall, which allowed for a more enjoyable meal. Seating was plentiful as well. And street parking wasn't too difficult to find a couple blocks away. read more

Ive wanted to try this place for a while. I had high hopes for this little "hand-made pasta" place but the food was not good. The zuppa tasted like canned beans; little flavor and little salt. Just sat down to dinner at Fatto A Mano and was blown away. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection. Every bite melted in my mouth. The location at the Prescott market is super convenient and has a great community feeling. The corner booth seating was romantic. The service was wonderful as well.
