This is the third time we've been here and the first time I've left a review…read more We were excited to visit again because we don't often make it to the Orem area. When we arrived and sat down, we were greeted by Joe telling us that "House rules, you're not allowed to order the same item". Lol. Love that guy! We both ordered Denver omelets, one without onions, extra mushrooms, French toast, and grits and one without mushrooms, hash browns, and pancakes. First off, the pancakes were amazing! They're light, had crispy edges, and had a wonderful flavor. But the best thing was it was in the shape of little donuts, which was a nice surprise. Our entrees came but were somehow got switched. We didn't realize it at first but both were still good. Unfortunately, my wife put Chalula on hers and I put Tobasco on mine and we don't like each other's choice of condiments. The other unfortunate thing was that I had an eggshell in my omelet. Even though we had these misfortunes you can't hide the flavor of these dishes and they certainly don't skimp on toppings. My grits were too sweet today. If it's too sweet for me, it must've been really sweet. The only other criticism I saw was that they were filling the syrup bottles from large Log Cabin jugs. They also were using Idahoan shredded potatoes from a large carton. I can understand the potatoes but how great would it be to have freshly made syrup. Still a great experience and they are still one of the best breakfast places on the state.

This warm, friendly welcome set the tone for the whole experience. Joe stopped by and told us the "rules". Everyone orders something different and we all share. My daughters both ordered waffles but one got it in a combo so she could follow the rules. I got the breakfast burrito with Texas sausage & bacon. My husband got the eggs & diced ham with a side of biscuits and gravy. My son got the French Dip because you can order breakfast or lunch at 10 am. Everyone ate a good portion if not all of their food. It was good. We will definitely be back. For the food but more for the service!

We loved the sausage soup and beet salad! So unique and flavorful. For the main entree, the gnocchi and winter pasta were also a hit. Hard to top the soup and salad though! To top it all off, the pumpkin pie panna cotta was amazing. They included it free of charge, as an anniversary gift. What a nice surprise! Great service, great food, great time.

It was first time trying Block and overall it was a neutral experience. I was with a bigger party…read moreand our table was well attended to. However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

My favorites are the fish dishes, which change sometimes, but its hard to go wrong with the variety they have. Today I had the tuna poké, but I ate it before I could take a picture. The portion sizes are good. I'd say to save money don't get sides, but.. I did. The portions on the sides is not worth $6. I wouldn't but from here if it wasn't better quality than most restaurants. I would go more often if it wasn't so expensive.. but comparable to aubergine

I had a hard time eating mine so I got a to-go box to take half of it home; my fiancé also had some left over. The portion was was large which was nice, but I usually finish mine when it's not so salty. The guacamole on top was barely edible. I also noticed that here, they put a large amount of the dressing on top; at the Park City location, they put the dressing on the side. The place was nice and spacious, the staff was nice, and the service was fast. The food did look quite fresh behind the counter. I think that if they can nail the details like the dressing on the side and the saltiness, they will do great. Overall, I'm very glad that a Vessel Kitchen is finally open in the Provo/Orem area!

Every dish we ordered was flavorful and beautifully presented you can tell the kitchen takes real pride in their craft starting with the bread. The ham empanadas were phenomenal, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also loved the CHURRASCO (medium rare ) highly recommend giving it a try! Last but not least...THE Chaja For desert! Wow! I wish I tempered the woman's name who helped us. She gave us all the best recommendations without telling us the most expensive place on the menu like some. We definitely will be coming back! For food, the calmari frita it was called but it was squid, some kind of white fish, shrimp along with fried, thinly sliced red onion, bell pepper and jalapeño. GET THIS, one of the best things of the night! When you do get it, make sure you get bites of the chopped veggie mixture that's buried under all the fried goodness, thank me later. Main course, we got the Parillada de Buenos Aires, this is where the issues start, our waiter said we were able to sub out a couple of the items on platter as tripe and sweetbreads (the glands of a veal if you weren't aware) are not things we enjoy. So we swapped them out for a chicken milenesa and a grilled chicken breast. It also came with 1 each of the sides that were pretty basic, and honestly lacked flavor in comparison (rice, potato salad, house salad, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies). Then the meats it comes with, a half chicken, a 12 oz skirt steak, 4 short ribs, some other grilled cut of meat (menu doesn't specify what kind) and a variety of sausages. The waiter, through super nice, totally messed up the substitutions. He brought them out but from the time ordered to the time we ate was about an hour, and for the correct food to come out took even longer. The food itself was pretty good, meats had great flavor and the milenesa when it came out was hot and juicy. The meats didn't need any dipping sauce because they were that well seasoned. Dessert we had the lemon "cheesecake" which was just a lemon cake with a cream cheese type frosting, not at all what you think of with a cheesecake.
