The food is well executed and delicious. The service is consistent. We have visited here many times and have always had a good experience. If I could eat at Sushi 38 for every meal - I TOTALLY would. The place is so quaint and cozy - it felt like a hidden gem!! The owner was the only one there when we went. He took our order and then made our food fresh. It got really busy right after we ordered and he pumped out fresh food for everyone. It was REALLY impressive. My husband served his mission in Korea and was literally in heaven as dishes came out because everything was so legit and authentic. (Except the sushi - which was delicious, but a million percent Americanized.) We ordered edamame and plain rice for our kids and they were in heaven. Simple palettes. We ordered the beef bibimbap which was INSANELY yummy but my husband wished he'd gotten kimchi instead. The "magic" chicken literally wins everything though. It's a dry rub that tastes like heaven in your mouth (or like a ranch Pringle) and it was our kids favorite as well as mine. Trust me - get it and love life. All of the sushi looked incredible and we couldn't decide which one to get, so we went with the owners recommendation - the one names after the store. We were not disappointed. It was UNREAL!! What an experience!! This place is incredible and I hope that more people learn about it. Very clean, modern, and decorated very well. It's a smaller restaurant but there is plenty of seating. The service was amazing! The Vegas roll was so crispy and super flavorful. The salmon was fresh and the portion was huge. It was hot when it arrived and had such a great flavor. Tried the "Sushi 38" roll, the "Las Vegas special" roll, and the "Salmon Lovers" roll. All 3 rolls were fresh and the Vegas roll was extra yummy while hot/warm, but not the best sushi I've had locally. No complaints, I've just had better. We got waters to drink and paid around $55 total (including tip). Overall it was a fun new place to try and I would recommend it to anyone who likes an extra fun sushi experience. Their bulgogi was seasoned beautifully, and the meat was lean and delicious. It had a lot of veggies and not too much rice, which makes it feel very healthy. The gochujang sauce was served separately so you could as much or as little as little, depending on how spicy you like it. The gentleman who took our order and served us was very friendly. Service was efficient and pleasant. The restaurant was very clean and played K-pop, not too loudly on a big screen TV. I rarely find good authentic Korean food, especially in Provo/orem area. I really love this place cause they have menu items that aren't very common like their rice cakes. The owner is amazing and so kind. He also brings you sauce and the food comes out so quickly. Don't let the name of this establishment fool you. They might be touting their sushi, but this is the BEST Korean in Utah County, maybe in all of Utah. We can't speak as to the quality of the sushi here, because we've been too enamored of their Korean dishes! Their stone bowl bibimbop is a masterpiece. And huge! Plan on taking half of it home. Their seasonings are unique, and unlike anything we've experienced in a Korean place anywhere in the west. Savory, deep, and definitely umami, without a trace of "soy sauce" flavor. The tteokbokki is superior, and our favorite features the addition of fried chicken chunks along with slices of sausage. But it's the chicken that shines the brightest. Whether wings or tenderloins, you've never had anything like it. The breading is light, with just the right amount of crunch. The sauces are all standouts, just be prepared for the fire in the hotter varieties! (Try the "Magic Sprinkle" for a real change of pace.) And the attention to detail in plating and presentation belies the strip-mall location. You can tell that the owners take tremendous pride in what they cook and how they bring it to your table. I have been craving Korean fried chicken for awhile and lo and behold this place popped up. So glad I came to this place! This hit the spot for me. At first I wasn't sure what their hours were. I searched online and on here (yelp) and nothing. So if you're curious, this is what they posted in the restaurant: Sunday & Monday: CLOSED Tues to Thurs: 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm Fri & Sat: 12:00 pm - 1:00 am I ordered the Salmon Lover roll. Delicious! If you get it, take the lemon slice it comes with and squeeze the lemon juice on top of your roll. You can thank me later ;) I also ordered the 8 piece Korean fried wings with soy garlic sauce. It was hot, crispy and it had enough sauce for me. Everything was great! I even was excited that they had Fanta pineapple soda haha oh and before I forget, this place also has great customer service. I would say best fried chicken in Utah, even better than some of the fried chicken I had in NYC and Atlanta. Their fried chicken is big and juicy, perfectly cooked, and not dry at all. A lot of the fried chicken places I've been, their chicken are dry and small, but not at this place! We ordered the supreme sauce, but I'm not a big fan, just cause I'm not a big fan of sweet sauce. My experience with this place is really weird. I first came here for some bibimbap more than a year ago and asked for shrimp instead of meat and it was great. I came back a second time and had a another good experience. The third time, the younger man behind the counter told me they didn't have bibimbap and they were getting rid of it on the menu. Two people behind me were eating bibimbap. I look like an ordinary grandma and I was really nice about it so I don't know what his problem was. I didn't go back for well over a year because I figured they don't have what I want. Today I was in the area and thought I would try it out again. Sure enough they have bibimbap on the menu and another dish that involves fried rice cake and fish cake and shrimp and it starts with a T. I ordered that because I want shrimp and fish. The older Korean man behind the counter said no I can't order it because I won't like it because it's too spicy. He said I should order the bibimbap. I said OK I want a bibimbap with shrimp instead of pork or beef or chicken. He said no I can't order it that way. I said are you sure? He said no you cannot order it that way. So I had the lady behind me go ahead of me and I tried to figure out what I was going to do. He took her order and turned around and walked into the kitchen, so I left. I seriously wonder if he's got me confused with somebody else or a serial killer or something but I promise I don't even look too scary. I won't be going back though. read more

Bibimbap is a shallow but large bowl with a beautiful fried egg on top. The bowl was very hot and quickly crisped the rice (you have to press the rice against the bowl and let it sit for a few minutes). A little oily, but not overly so. No side dishes with the bowl. Fried chicken had a relatively thin but crispy skin with great flavor. It's always a gamble getting white meat, but I didn't find it dry at all, and I thought it was very well done, not oily at all. Just flew in and was looking for some Korean Food. This place is right next to a supermarket so it was super convenient! I must say do not underestimate the delicious sauce that's on top of the Waffle Fries. I also got the fried chicken that came with 3 dumplings. The dumplings were perfectly cooked and so was the fried chicken I never thought I could enjoy chicken prepared this way SO MUCH! My friend got the bibimbap and said it was super yummy. Her food came out in a bursting hot pan and the rice got crispy and it looked like a perfect meal to end the day. The food was overall great.
