It really is as good as everyone says it is. I got the nachos (which could feed a small pack of wolves) and my husband got the tacos with cheese. I will say, his were better than my nachos. Came by on a Saturday early afternoon. We ordered some tacos, torta, and I wanted to try something new so I also ordered a costra! I came for the torta specifically, but I will return again soon to have the costra again!! I was just passing through on a driving trip after visiting a vendor in Lindon and looked up high rated quick places for lunch. The reviews led me to Holy Taco. Wow, was I ever happy I went there! Holiness is found in this beautiful taco. The Al pastor taco was my overall favorite. I love the simple menu. The Gordita was recommended and is the equivalent of 3 tacos. Was up in the Provo Orem area and looking for a highly rated taco spot. Holy Tacos has really good ratings and so I was excited to try them. They feature just one choice of meat Al Pastor, of which I am a big fan. You can have it as a street taco, with cheese, as a larger taco (gringa), on nachos, you get the point. But the flavor was just okay. I ordered two Al Pastor tacos and a third one with cheese, .50 upgrade. 3/5 Nachos with cheese and loaded heavily with Al Pastor meat. The green salad dressing was really good on it, but would have liked more. 3/5 My wife got the Gringa, large Al Pastor taco. 3/5 All in it was just okay. Came here on a Saturday evening for dinner. The restaurant was pretty small and it was full. Luckily, a small group was leaving so we were able to take their spot. The cashier was super helpful and nice. We enjoyed having him take our order and answer our questions. The restaurant was clean (he wiped down the tables after each party left) and I loved the open kitchen concept so you can actually see how your food is being prepared. We loved the simplicity of the menu. We did not know that they served only al pastor. It would be nice to have another type of meat option, like chicken, to help balance it out. We ordered a gringa, two tacos, and two tacos with cheese. We waited about 10 minutes food our food - fast service!! Each item came with fresh onions, cilantro, pineapple, and lime. I do think that this was one of the best Al pastor tacos I've ever had. The tortilla were fresh and cooked perfectly. The meat was so flavorful and they put so much in each item so every bite was full of meat. The pineapple, cilantro, and onion complimented the meat so nicely. The cheese in the gringa and the cheese tacos was delicious. It was melted perfectly and was just delicious! They have a green and red salsa that you can put on your tacos as well. The green is mild and the red is spicy. They are both really good but we did prefer the green because it helped all the flavors blend together while providing an extra level of flavor. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely recommend Holy Taco. Due to them only serving al pastor, you do have to be in a certain mood for it and prepared to eat a decent amount due to it being the only meat they serve. I would recommend and encourage they provide another option, like chicken, for those of us who do not like eating a lot of red meat in one sitting. I also wish they had some sides like beans and rice or chips and salsa as well. With that said, I'll be back again when I am open to eating only Al pastor items! read more

WOW. If you like Al Pastor, look no further. Possibly the best Al Pastor tacos I've had outside of Mexico. It's all just done right. The ratio is perfect. I especially loved the touch of pineapple. Oh and the sauces were money. I used mostly the green one and added a bit of red to spice it up. Super good flavor with some fire to keep it interesting. I got the Gringa, which was fantastic. If you want more of a sandwich feel, then the Torta is a good way to go as well. Especially the avocado in there. Nice touch. Even the service was great! The place has a nice local feel to it. This is a cute college hipster foodie stop. My main criticism is that it really only has one type of meat. They should name the place "Al Pastor" because that's all they serve. It's a good meat on a spit but I wouldn't call it Mexican Food. Its a fun twist on traditional ideas. Their other main ingredient is their grilled cheese wrapped or in about everything.
