Birria dipping sauce for cheese taco
Christopher D.

Food was fresh and tasty. Really liked the mild salsa. Got a street taco, cheese taco, rice & beans, and a bottle of Mexican Coke. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance is modern Mexican with vibrant art on the walls.

Taco fiend here! I love these tacos, they're great! I'm just a little disappointed that they don't have a food truck that caters to local events because most of the food there is pretty mid. Im typically an easy customer to please but I had to clean off my own table (no one was cleaning) and even after cleaning it was still all sticky. The dining room was a MESS, the garbage was overflowing and getting everywhere. I went to get vegetables for my tacos and they were out. If I was unfamiliar with this place I would've walked out. Poor management, I'm a little disappointed, I think I'll avoid this Red Tacos for now.

Grabbed dinner with a friend and she recommended this place while we were out and about. I've heard about it a number of times but had never gone. So glad we did! I've had Birria before but it pales in comparison to this. I got a Combo #1: 2 Queso Tacos & 2 Street Tacos with Consume. The Queso tacos were by far my favorite because of all the cheese. The meat was good quality and the tortillas didn't split as much as I expected them too. I wish with the price it had included a drink, but it didn't and I got a pineapple aqua fresca and it was delish. I was very curious about the ramen, so that'll have to be another trip.

New favorite taco place!!!!! The quedo taco is a perfect combo of crunchy and soft with an amazing flavor to the steak. Squeeze some lime on there and you've got the perfect taco. This is the only thing I like more than the gringa from holy taco.

Delicious tacos

Best Red Tacos in Utah so far. I hope they keep up the good service. Clean restaurant.

They were good and full of flavor. Also very filling and satisfying. They were just a tiny bit too greasy but I would still come back.

Excited to try the storefront after having the food truck previously. We needed lunch for a work meeting and I walked in with 8 separate orders. They didn't even blink an eye and were happy to help. Did all the orders and put the names on them and got them all correct. The food is delicious. You really do want the consume. The birria is so well done. Needless to say, I have many co workers that have been back several times . If you haven't been, you want to get there!

Oh my goodness. I could not tell you enough how much I enjoyed this plate. It was at the right time, right spot and it had the very right flavor to it I travel a lot between three states and this was good cold as it was hot!! The service was friendly and very quick as well. The inside of the building has a five guys feel to it and it was relaxed. We already knew what we wanted before coming in as well but noticed their menu doesn't consist of much but definitely will come back to try the other menu items. 100000000/10, I rave about this spot to people I know

Pizzadilla

One word: Pizzadilla. I actually don't remember how I found this place, but I am glad I did! I had been day dreaming about queso tacos and quesadilla pizzas after having recently moved from a place where I knew exactly where to find them and Red Taco delivered (metaphorically). We got the pizzadilla, which my picky child loved and was a meal for 6, and got the ramen. Everything was soo good. It was hot and fresh and the flavor was perfect. We ordered at the restaurant after trying to call to place the order multiple times and receiving a text saying the food truck was closed, but the restaurant was open. The restaurant was filled with cool designs and art work! They had tiny cactuses throughout and on the tables. My only gripe was that the listed number seems to only be for the food truck, but other than that everything was amazing! I can't wait to try their tacos!

If I could eat this meal everyday for the rest of my life, I'd die happy. It's celestial. But for real - the birria meat is soft and tender (not fatty like other birria I've had) and the cosine is amazing. So much flavor packed into one little taco! I can't wait until their store-front opens because I will be there every day.

Combo #1: 2 street tacos, 2 queso tacos, and 8oz of consume
Leslie S.

I would have never found Red Tacos if it weren't for a recommendation from someone who lives locally! Red Tacos is a food truck and there is a few tables outside under a tarp to sit at. Heres what we ate: We had the combo #1: 2 queso tacos, 2 street tacos with an 8oz consome. This was big enough to split between two people so that each person had 2 tacos. The street tacos are simple, but delicious! The flavor of the birria is amazing and it is so tender. The combo comes with limes, radish, cilantro, and onion on the side so you can add whatever you would like to your street taco or queso tacos. They also have hot sauce/salsa. The queso taco was also amazing! Super cheesy and pan fried on both sides to add a crispy crunch. The consume that comes with the combo is the perfect addition to the tacos. We dipped the tacos in the consume and it added extra flavor and made the tacos even juicer. If I were to come back, I would get the combo again because both the street taco and the queso taco were delicious. This was one of our favorite places that we ate while staying in Provo!

Greetings from Utah as I continue to explore the cuisine across the state and todays stop is, as you can tell by the name, one of my favorite foods. I need to thank a fellow elite yelper for this suggestion that I found in her reviews. Now I read about the history of Red Taco in her review and confirmed the origin by the polite fella at the register. Kicking off, I generally order chicken, pork and beef, but that was not an option here as they only serve beef so it was 3 beef Tacos, 3 ways. 1st up was the Street Taco, normally expect to have 2 tortillas but only 1 this time and it had a toasted feel to it, all condiments on the side. The best way to describe the meat is "brisket" and all 3 Tacos came with the same meat style which works well in a fast food business. Next was the Queso Taco, with cheese and a soft and hard tortilla. Last was the Keto Taco with the tortilla made out of grilled cheese cooked to a dark brown color and crispy. Now this tortilla style is sold in many supermarkets these days, but this is the first time I have seen it served in all of the Taco joints where it was called a Keto which makes perfect sense so it was a treat. Ok, now like with any brisket, it should not be dry and you can really infuse flavor in the cooking process. This meat was moist and tender as would be expected, but the flavor did not jump for me. I expect more from brisket because of the way it's cooked, it takes at least 8 hours make good brisket and during that time, you can make amazing tasting beef. My beef preference in order is cubed cooked fresh on the spot, then brisket style and lastly hamburger style. The reason why I prefer cubed is in some taco joints, I can have it a little rare where as with the other styles it might not be made fresh everyday. A good cubed beef is typically tenderized and marinated before cooking to prevent CME (chewy meat experience). The food was delivered quickly and the fella was nice along with the other staff. Place was clean along with the bathroom which always tells me something about the management. I did enjoy the last two Tacos although flavor wise the Tacos did not stand alone for flavor and adding sauce was necessary so would say it was a solid 3.5 rating. I might stop back again if in the area and it was worth the 30 minute drive to try it out. All of the seats were filled on a Thursday night which speaks to a strong following!

Birria Ramen
Fabiola R.

Red Tacos is hands down one of the best quesobirria taco locations that I have tried! Personally I am often drawn away from birria but I couldn't help but stop by after hearing great reviews. From the colorful art on the walls to the authentic Mexican music playing to the friendly and personable staff, my visit at Red Tacos was amazing. My food was freshly made with care and made me a fan of birria, especially the Birria Ramen. Both my quesobirria taco and Birria Taco we're delicious and I plan on visiting again when I am back in town. If you're looking for a delicious, friendly, and authentic Mexican birria restaurant, Red Tacos is the place to go!

I can't find anything saying if the meat is goat (traditionally) or beef (de res) within the birria tacos. What kind of meat do the tacos contain?

Hello, we actually use beef!! And we should probably update this information online! Thank you very much!

Do they close early if they're sold out? I went by at 6:15 and they were closed.

Yes! I’m sorry unfortunately we can’t change hours daily on google or Yelp. If you follow up on social media we update our pages the moment we realize we are close to selling out. You’re always welcomed to call or text before driving down! Thank you… Read more

We ordered their Carnita Tacos and chilaquiles con crema, both were really good especially the tacos! They tasted so fresh with the pickled cucumber, YUM. My only complaint was that the chilaquiles were a little cold, they still tasted really good just not as warm as I would've liked.

Seating is pretty poorly done, the inside of the restaurant was BOILING hot...we literally requested to sit outside because of how humid it felt inside. It seems not well ventilated and so the cooking was adding to the heat indoors. Seats were all different and lacked consistency in furniture choices. After seating, our waitress got to us pretty late. Waters didn't have ice which I think is a poor choice in ANY establishment. Cooled water gets to be room temp fast !!! Our food took a LONG time to come. I ordered the Rajas burrito with pollo, which came to about $12 before tax...an expensive burrito ! The chicken used in the Rajas burrito is the same chicken from a different burrito - as the waitress told me. They only have ONE type of grilled chipotle chicken that they just add into everything, which I view as a lazy course of action. My burrito came and I found myself disappointed by the size. For a $12 burrito and a 20+ minute wait ? Not worth it ! However, the flavor was well done and the cheese + beans came to be very creamy. They provided a "hot sauce" which tasted more like a sweet mango-y salsa. My burrito was also poorly wrapped and fell apart as I ate it but watched my friends who had tightly wrapped burritos enjoy their meals. So the inconsistency is disappointing, especially for the time that it seemingly took for the food to be made. Overall, I think this is an overly americanized Mexican place. It's like a missionary came home from the south americas and wanted to bring "culture" to Utah. It's disappointing to see the small portions for bigger prices. Service was poor and our waitress rarely checked in other than to drop off a jug of water for us to self-poor our cups. (Which I didn't see done for the table next to us. So I believe this was a lazy choice on our waitresses part.) Though the business seemed busy, the food, service, and overall atmosphere were lacking. I believe the food came short of the authenticity and charm that usually comes with latin food restaurants.

The space is so cute. Clean, simple, pretty, and there is an upstairs private area that is such a vibe. Now the food. Wow. Queso fundido was insane. The jalapeños had the perfect kick and the homemade tortillas are hands down the best tortillas. I would go back just for those. Empanadas and tinga tostados were packed with flavor but listen to me... GET THE LAMB. It was unreal. And then dessert. The hibiscus poached pear with whipped cream. Light, unique, not too sweet, just perfect. Everything was beautifully plated. Every single thing felt intentional. 10 out of 10. Cannot wait to go back next time I am in Utah.

This is not an inexpensive restaurant. My favourite go to meal is anything Mexican. The chicken taco had no flavour at all. No spices nothing. One taco was dripping grease the other had no grease. Pretty disappointed in the meal especially in relation to the price point of the meal.
