I heard great things about this place from my parents! My little sister and I went and it was super busy inside on Friday at lunchtime. Despite the busyness, we were well taken care of. The location was clean and bright which was nice as well. I ordered the Blackened Fish Burrito and my sister got the Birria Taco Special. She liked the consume a lot! Delicious! I was with a big group and someone suggested we hit here for dinner. We had chicken, al pator, shrimp, and fish with and without queso and every one was delicious! The big surprise was the chicken which was so moist and delicious, way above average chicken taco. They have lots of really good salsas, and they have a unique flare. El Tio Taco is our new go-to taco dealer! The owners and employees were all so welcoming and kind. I felt like we were eating at a friend's place. Though the decor is simple, it is very clean and the warmth of the welcome and great food filled us. They have great options for tacos, burritos, enchiladas, nachos, and more. One tell for us is meat that is clean, without gristle or fat. We tried the asada, pork verde, carnitas, al pastor, birria, chicken, crispy potato, and nopales. We will have to try the rest next time. Everything was very good. So good. Enough that I am still thinking about it. Our neighbor couldn't stop raving about this spot, so my husband and I decided to check it out--and we're so glad we did! For our first visit, we tried a variety of tacos, including the blackened fish, al pastor, and potato. While they were all tasty, the standout favorites were definitely the Birria and the salsa verde pork--absolutely phenomenal! We're already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the taco options, and I'm especially excited to dive into the rest of the menu. This place is killer. I've been craving birria tacos for a few weeks now so I'm super glad we found El Tio Taco! We ordered birria quesatacos, carnitas quesatacos, Jamaica, horchata, and chips/guac. Everything was EXCELLENT! The birria and carnitas were tender, juicy, and flavorful. Those were the only tacos we tried, but I imagine they're all great. The owner and employees were extremely kind. They came and checked on us to make sure we were enjoying everything, and thanked us multiple times for coming in. The restaurant was super clean. You can tell they are careful while cleaning the tables, floors, etc. All in all, we had a very positive experience and plan to come back soon. We stopped by for dinner. I got a Burria burrito and my wife got the El Tio Bowl with carnitas. The bowl was huge and delicious. The burrito was smaller than you'd get at a lot of other Mexican places but tasty. We both thought the ingredients were really high quality. No chunks of fat on the carnitas that you often get, for example. The horchata was fabulous and clearly fresh. The service was super friendly. We were greeted when we came in and were thanked by three different people on our way out. The inside was bright and very clean. Opinion from my boyfriend who was born and raised in Mexico- Al pastor and birria tacos were good. He said he would come back for both of them. He did not like the chorizo BUT keep in mind he has never had chorizo in the US that he liked or that tasted like the stuff in Mexico. Refried beans were good. Rice was different but ok. Fantastic tacos! Definitely our new favorite taco place. We have been searching for good street tacos (and chips and salsa) since we moved here from San Diego 4 years ago. We FINALLY found it! Great variety of taco meats, delicious chips and flavorful fresh salsa. My husband and I are both Mexican so we're particularly picky about our Mexican food. I had some Al pastor, asada, and chile verde tacos. The only one I liked was the chile verde. Asada was okay but too charred for my liking. The al pastor was a bit hard and flavorless. I thought I was eating chicken. My husband had the chilaquiles with asada. He liked it but salsa was a bit chunky. The horchata tasted more like Salvadorian horchata than Mexican, the two have very different flavors.
