The lobster taquitos were amazing and really nailed the Mexican - seafood fusion. Slapfish is my favorite seafood spot in Mass Ave for a quick bite! I stopped by this visit for a carry out order during Devour Indy. I had the Mediterranean shrimp salad and the lobster taquitos from the devour menu and both were delicious! As a side, I also tried the clam chowder and WOW I should've ordered two!!! I was able to save half for dinner because the portions are just huge. I try to have a different dish every time I visit, and I'm never disappointed. This place totally lived up the the expectations, I'm obsessed! Please don't skip the lobster bisque, it was creamy and comforting and they did not skimp out on the lobster. I can't get over the sweet tangy cocktail sauce they call Rooster Cocktail Sauce. I love the stuff! Today I ordered the Power Bowl. The mixed grilled seafood was shrimp, salmon and tilapia. The vegetables were sliced carrots, petite tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, squash and sliced radishes. Also included were plenty of sliced avocados, a hard boiled egg, some onions all on a bed of cabbage. Hidden underneath the seafood was a generous portion of rice with a really unique sauce. I thought about trying the Lobster Grinder so was able to sample the Spiced Aioli sauce. I do love this sauce but this was a little bit too much of a kick for me. This restaurant is located on the Mass Ave strip. There is metered parking out front. They have a full bar and really take social distancing serious during this COVID era. You can order take out or you can dine in. They have limited tables for dining in due to most of the tables being closed to allow social distancing. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. Wow! This place is amazing! Smack dab in the middle of the city is one of the best seafood restaurants I've had! You can see from the picture that the food looks amazing! But I'll gladly note that it tastes just as amazing as it looks! I got to try the lobster deviled eggs which were creamy and flavorful. For entree, I had the fish n chips which were some of the best I've ever had! I was impressed that the fish itself had a lot of good flavor along with the light and crispy batter! In comparison, Cheesecake Factory and BJs similar fish is just plain by comparison with batter that falls off. But here, they know what they're doing and it's all good! My companions all enjoyed their own entrees as well, making for an enjoyable dinner experience. My one takeaway is that the fries are just ok, nothing special. They're a bit too potatoey without enough flavor for them to stand on their own, so they definitely needed ketchup. The slaw wasn't bad, but also not memorable. Since Slapfish's opening during the darned pandemic, I have ordered many an item across their vast menu and never once been even slightly disappointed! The lobster taquitos are amazing. The fish sandwich is amazing. The shrimp bowl is amazing. The breakfast burrito is amazing. The lobster tots? Amazing. Lobster dip? Also amazing. Fish and chips? You guessed it. Amazing. If you are a fellow seafood lover, this joint is a great place to lean on. They are quick service, so you can easily run in and order at the counter on your way home from work or the gym or call ahead for even speedier pick up. Arrived this evening to some very friendly staff! We ordered the lobster taquitos to start and then the lobster roll and shrimp burrito as the entrees. As sides we got the fries and fried pickles. The lobster taquitos were great with the guacamole on top. Personally I the guac added some flavor to each bite. As for the lobster roll, it was a bit mayo-ey. I would've liked it with less Mayo and more lemon - a personal preference. The amount of lobster in the roll was hefty and well worth it. Next time i would just order it with less sauce. The fries were tasty having some Cajun seasoning on them. The shrimp burrito was good and flavorful but their was too much sauce on it. If you don't like spicy I would stay away from it as it has a kick to it unless you order it without the sauce. The shrimp in the burrito was cooked perfectly. I went with the Lobster Dip & Chips as well as the Epic Shrimp Burrito. Both were good, just could use a bit of oomph to take it to the next level. After adding salt & cayenne to the dip, it elevated it from okay to okayyyyy! The burrito did have epic size shrimp, but again...overall it could have used a little something.
