i go to slammers from time to time and get their awesome pizza for lunch or go in for a drink late at night and get pretty decent service....most of the time. this last time, however, really sucked. if you see a white, bald bartender guy...run. go to any other gay bar....seriously. i've never been actually avoided by a bartender while sitting at the bar. if it were a busy night, i'd understand the lack of service. he gave attitude and poured a white russian that was mainly creamer. i waved him down for every drink and usually he'd pass right by at least once. if i ever see him behind the bar, i'm leaving. but like i said, typically its a fun time with a pool table and patio for smokers. too bad the white bald dude ruined it for us. dear slammers, please don't employ men who get easily annoyed by the sight of a lesbian/group of lesbians. thank you. read more

So....we are out of town-ers and were looking for a place to eat a quick dinner before heading back to our conference downtown. Not knowing at all that we were walking into a bar, we just saw a sign out front that said pizza. So we go in, sit down in the back room with the pool tables are there are only 3 people at a table in there, the rest are on the patio and up by the bar. When I noticed the scenery, it took me a minute to compute where I had just taken the most Christian woman, Sunday School teaching, Kindergarten teacher that I know, to. After we ordered, I googled the place. Yep...we were in a Gay Bar. After laughing to myself, I told this woman where I had in fact brought her. Her reaction was "oh my" You see....she had never in her 55 years been in a bar. Ever! Much less a gay bar. The other woman with us says "well, I guess we can check this off of our bucket list" to which she replies "I don't think this was ever on my bucket list" LOL We got a good laugh out of ourselves. This woman was so incredible though and said that she was not above breaking bread with anyone! Food was pretty good. Sara was a great waitress and got a good laugh out of us not knowing where the heck we were at. read more

Nice friendly staff...good pizza, too! Love the outside patio to chill with friends on a summer night. Most of the patrons are cool, too and everyone seems to get along. Not good as far as noise level or claustrophobics if it's crowded, as it is a smaller bar inside. But overall I have pleasant and fun times here with friends. read more

I give three stars only because there a serious lack of decent girl bars in Columbus. So the place has an interesting smell, the music is three years behind and the cheap pizza soaks up of the heavy handed cheap cocktails. With that said, this is not a bad place to "get yo drank on!" This is a good place to pre-game or just meet a few friends for some light hearted fun. I mean if it made improvements and became more popular, it would totally loose it's appeal. Neighborhood dyke bar. Wasn't packed, generic domestic beer selection mostly but drink deals and prices convince you that you in fact cannot get enough Yuengling. Casual/laid back atmosphere. The pizza is AMAZING so on to Tuesday and Thursday. I'm from Texas, day drinking is a big thing for us. Apparently not here. Anyway, I came here on Tuesday 2 ppl plus the bartender. More ppl on Thursday evening. They had trivia that seemed to last maybe an hour? Otherwise I like that I can control to juke box with touch tunes. Really enjoyed a slow wednesday night here. The people are super friendly, the drinks are strong and very well priced and the patio is awesome. My only complaint when the place really slowed down and people stop selecting music on the juke box the place went silent. This kind of killed the mood. Cant wait to check it out again on another night. read more

I'm guessing based on the other reviews that this place is really more of a nighttime destination, so perhaps my review does not mean much. That said, the service at lunchtime was unbelievably slow. There were a total of 12 people (3-4 tables) and we say at the bar. We all ordered the pizza lunch which comes with a salad, but the pizza took nearly 45 minutes to come out. While it was tasty, that is an insanely long time for lunch service. read more

If you are looking for a place to watch the game there are MUCH BETTER PLACES. Nothing special. Typical bar. Typical bar food. The novelty factor that it's a gay bar wears off in about 10 minutes. For game time, better off at BW3s or Roosters. Better srvc. Better food. ($7.00 for a wrap? Really?)More beer choices domestic & import & the staff & customers are easier on the eyes lol. read more

Slammers is slowing making its way to my go to gay bar. At first glance, Slammers looks like a dive-bar.. and I won't disagree with statement, but Slammers has more to offer then one would think. First, the patio.. the patio is large and amazing. They sometimes have a DJ out there for Softball Sundays throughout the summer, and they also have corn-hole! Inside there is also a pool table, a jukebox, and quite a few TVs. This is a great place to go if you are on a budget (or looking to have a cheap drinking date)... buckets of beers are pretty cheap, and on Tuesdays they have 4 domestics and a pizza for like, $10 or $12. There is rarely ever a large crowd, unless people are looking for cheap drinks on a Saturday night before they head down to Wall Street to get their dance on! Softball Sundays is the time to be there though, thats when everyone comes out of the woodworks! Oh.... and the veggie pizza is BOMB read more

The Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging with 250 employees+ was a neighbor of Slammers for 22 years until we moved in April of 2016. This was a regular lunch spot and great for carry out. Loved the patio in the summer. The service was personal and terrific and the pizza was perfect! They allowed us to use Slammers for fund raising events and were great neighbors. Hope all the new apartment folks on Long Street will give them a try. We will miss this lunch spot and will probably make the extra effort to stop in. read more

great food!!! I love this place, I go there after work for a quiet place to have a drink and hang with my laptop on facebook, working or whatever. If I want a fun evening place this is it too. Good music, much fun and laughter. Great place to hang out, meet people and just have a good time for all ages. Don't forget to have a pizza while you are here...they are great! read more
