I really had high hopes for this place. Im so picky with my pad thai!! From the color i already knew it was lacking flavor. Even without spice, it was so bland to the noodles chicken and tofu. The shrimp egg rolls looked more like mini meat inside and no shrimp. Thai tea had the right color but i was hoping it to be sweet. Ill come back and try other items, but i would skip everything i had today. Great customer service. Order was made to order. Parking can be challenging during dinner time

Tonight was my first time coming here on the recommendation of a friend. I have posted a picture of what I ordered. The lady that works there helped me pick these items along with a customer that was picking up her order. I am enjoying this food it's delicious. The portion sizes are beyond generous and there's enough for leftovers. I highly recommend this place for excellent Thai food in the east bay.

Pineapple fried rice with shrimp

Cozy place to kick back and enjoy delicious Thai food. Friendly and helpful staff. I tried money bags for the first time. Almost like a spring roll, but more flavorful. I love the name too. Pineapple fried rice is always my standard bearer for a place serving Thai food. This one is a solid 4 stars. It's good and has the flavor I like but was missing just a little bit of kick. I also prefer cashews and a deeper curry flavor. Otherwise, I enjoyed it and the portions are plentiful!

7/16/25 FYI. A1. Stuffed Angel Wings & E4. Pad Thai beef

Quality/Quantity - It has been a long time since we have been here. Looks like the same family/employees are still working here. Today we got the following: A7. Money Bags - My wife always gets this; she must really like it. A1. Stuffed Angel Wings - WOW, my favorite! My wife preferred stuffed Angel Wings from Spice I Am (not sure why I do NOT have a review on this restaurant?!?!), but this is my new favorite for stuffed Angel Wings!! E2 Pad Se Ew Chicken - Still my daughter's favorite. Overall good. E4. Pad Thai beef - My usual go-to which was also good. Overall the meal was good, and we even had a little left over, but then again, we are also light eaters. Lunch menus are also available. Atmosphere - Decent size restaurant. Interesting shape, but it lends well to private or semi private events. Free limited (2 hours) street parking. Notice the warning signs of car break-ins, be safe. Open 6 days a week from 11am to 9pm; closed Mondays. Service - Good. Price - $70 + tip; reasonably priced. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since July of 2021.

A6. Lao Style Sausages

My husband and I dined here for lunch. They have an ALL DAY menu, no lunch. It's a little pricey. When we walked-in, I noticed a thumping sound. My husband said it was their AC. It was annoying me since I am sensitive to sound. We picked a table away from the cash register where the thumping sound was coming from. We ordered: Lao Sausage 3 1/2 Stars, Good, but small Beef Salad 4 Stars, needed more lime juice, too sweet Drunken Noodles 5 Stars, Excellent Mango Fish 3 Stars, sauce too sweet, skinny fish (hardly meat) Service was good. I had to flag down the servers to refill our waters several times.

This place was soooo good! When my husband & I came it was Saturday early afternoon no one was there but maybe 2 other little families so it was quiet. It had just opened. The food c was delicious! Staff was very welcoming & very attentive. Definitely will be going back.

sweet sour basil wings (only 6 of them for $17)

Somehow I had a combination poor experience. Pros: Very good service! Nice environment. Cons: small portion. $17 basal wings may have only 6 small to medium wings. Most gredients in the dish are pine apple chops, onion, and carrots (one carrot piece seemed to be rotten). The peanuts coming w/ the Thai noodles were rancid. We had to pick them out of our kid's plate. We two adults plus a young kid ordered three dishes and I walked out still hungry. Will not revisit.

Cashew mango dish is my most recent pick

My best friend and I like to have monthly girls' night dinners and this has become the restaurant of choice. We like the clean, chic, intimate feel and the the traditional Thai menu. We always open with shrimp spring rolls and then our usual main dish picks: Drunken noodle for me and Chicken yellow curry for her. Last time, I got the fresh and light papaya salad. The portion was so large I was able to pack up some to go. I know there have been some notes about service: I have always found them polite, prompt, and helpful. I asked for medium spicy on my salad and our server said mild spicy would be sufficient. I'm a chili enthusiast and she was right. The salad had quite a kick. I will absolutely be back. Friday night dinner is the besties' version of Sunday brunch.

Pad See Ew

The food was amazing!! The khao soi (curry noodle dish) had great, deep flavor! The curry was not too watery! The pad see ew had a nice, smoky flavor from the wok hei, and was savory! My personal favorite dish was the beef satay with the peanut sauce. The meat was extremely tender, savory, and aromatic. The thai tea was also not too sweet, which is a great thing when you're in your 30s like me . The service was great!! Food came out on time, and waters were refilled quickly.

My little plate:chicken satay, rice, beef & broccoli

Stopped by for a quick lunch as we await for the car to be ready for pickup. We shared the Chicken Satay with a tasty sauce, Beef and Broccoli with a dish of rice. My dining buddy had the Thai ice tea . We were full and sassy! Glad to make the impromptu stop and will be revisiting soon to try other dishes real soon. Service was punctual, food came out hot and quickly delivered to our table. The two servers check in on us from time to time.

SL KITCHEN IS AMAZING! Service is always good the ladies are always smiling and being accommodating. We come here almost every 2 weeks now , the food is always hot and fresh they haven't disappointed us at all. Small and intimate for either dates , family gathering or catching up with friends! Crispy fried chicken over fried rice
Angela M.

Come here for the food, but don't expect much when it comes to service, which is next to non-existent. I've been here twice now, once for a weeknight dinner and once for a Sunday lunch. Both times, service has been limited to a cool greeting, being seated, having our order taken, and our food dropped off. Both times, the waitresses disappeared for the rest of the meal and flagging them down was an act of patience and determination, as they'd almost intentionally not make eye contact with anyone while rushing around the restaurant. It's bad enough for me to knock off a star. As for the food, it's unbelievably delicious. From the green curry to the panang curry, from the crispy spring rolls to the money bags, fried chicken over fried rice, and pad ka po, nearly everything here has been simply delicious. The only dish I didn't enjoy was the papaya salad, which was *really* heavy on the fish sauce and very unpleasant to eat. Otherwise, everything else is on the "would order again" list. Spice levels are no joke here. I love my spicy food but have to tone it down at SL Kitchen; I usually get the medium spice, which is plenty enough heat without causing discomfort and killing most of the flavors of your dish. SL Kitchen is a bit pricey, but I've come home with leftovers both times so I've at least gotten a couple meals out of each visit. You won't leave here hungry. Highly recommend for the food, but don't come here if you're on a tight schedule or don't like sitting around waiting. (There may be a reason why this place is so popular for takeout...) The restaurant at least has a nice interior, which makes for nice ambiance while eating and trying to flag down someone for a drink refill or the check.

They had lots of delicious food jnside, something for everyone although I've never seen breakfast inside a Thai place before I always go straight for the lunch :) All the staff were very welcoming and let us take our time to order as we do get picky on what we order. Our time that we went, it was busy and they did have plenty of people who were waiting. It does tend to get busy on weekends. I do like chicken a lot after all these years and thats what I had. It would have been five, but the waitress never brought us our appetizer so we had to ask that it would be removed from the bill at the end. The fried mushrooms were heavily greased, and was not seasoned at all and it made it seem like we were biting into nothing but crunchy oil. Was not appetizing. But it was pretty lol The crab fried rice was pretty good. I guess it was one of their specialties. The service was extremely slow. Seems like it would benefit for them to hire a few more people to run tables as it was very obvious that they could not handle the DoorDash orders along with what was going on inside of the restaurant. We had seen some people step out of the kitchen to assist with the DoorDash orders and help the girls in the front organize things. And unfortunately, the DoorDashers had to wait around for a really long time and probably ended up not getting a tip and a bad review due to the delay. Though the food did come out fast! However, it took us about 30 minutes just to get our bill. We actually never really got the Bill. We had walked up to the employees and asked if we can pay for a bill.

She checked on us at just the right times, gave us some recommendations, and was so friendly and easy to talk to. She made the experience even more enjoyable with her personality and little conversations. Lisa also stopped by to make sure we were enjoying everything, which I really appreciated. Now for the food, the pumpkin Thai tea was probably my favorite! I ordered it twice. I've never had it before and it was SO worth it. I'm honestly sad that it's seasonal because I'd definitely order it again. The larb was packed with flavor without feeling too heavy, and the Massaman curry really stood out to me. It's such a comforting, cozy dish, perfect for a night when you want something warm and satisfying. The Pad See Ew had really tasty noodles, and I loved that the peanut flavor was subtle but still came through. The chicken fingers were also really good! Overall, we had a great experience from the food to the service. We definitely left already talking about what we want to order next time. We'll be back!

First of all, the restaurant itself might look like a hole in the wall from the outside, but, don't be fooled! The hostess/wait person was so friendly and welcoming, bringing us a nice cold bottle of water right away. Then, the menu. We went with the lunch specials. II ordered the classic pad Thai with shrimp. The shrimp (about 4) were plump and not overcooked, the rest of the items that we all know from a traditional pad Thai were all fresh, the plate well composed. A real winner. The special included a side so we both had the Tom Kha with chicken. It did not disappoint, what with a savory coconut broth, and red onion balanced off the mushrooms, lemon grass, galangal. The chicken was generously portioned. My son had the pad se ew with pork belly. This dish also was a standout, with crispy edged pork belly and tender meat being the star of the show. The flat noodles also had a nice chewy, neither underdone nor overdone but just right. It was laced with a soy sauce and some sweetness running in the background. We also had a crisp salad with a balanced dressing (sweet and sour tasting). All for $15.99 (that's the base price, shrimp and pork belly are extra). We will definitely go back to try the curries. The drunken noodles and the roti also beckon.

Then, as much as we loved the banh mi, the banner and the sidewalk sign advertising them as a new lunch option last year seemed almost like they were really, really trying to pull in more people any way they could. Every time I walked past this place, it was either empty or there were one to two tables with guests at a time. So when the word finally broke a few days ago that the owners have sold the place and are closing, I felt really sad, but wasn't surprised. It's definitely the end of an era, and is one of those longtime San Leandro restaurants in this strip of E 14th that has a comforting, early 2000s vibe -- and is now gone, like so many before them. It's frustrating, especially because the likelihood of them possibly getting replaced by a chain or yet another taqueria or Chinese place is high (though they apparently don't know what will be moving in after them). Dropped by yesterday with my husband for a final lunch. He got the bun bo hue and I got the yellow curry stir fry and fried rice. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the restaurant was nearly entirely full with people having their own last meals and saying their goodbyes to the owners. While the owner was incredibly nice, service was terrible. She was overworked, working the counter, packing up to-go orders, taking table orders, bringing out food, AND bussing tables alone. The party next to us was a little frustrated that she still hadn't come by to take their order and went to the counter to flag her down. I don't know how much longer Le Soleil would've remained viable if service has been like this for months. Thai Iced Tea: a little TOO sweet, had to let the ice melt for it to be the right balance on the sugar, but after that it was fine 5. Veggie Gyoza: I wanted to love these, but I was missing having a meat version. So so, probably wouldnt order again. All in all a good meal!

Updating my review (last visit a week ago) for the customer service and having tried a few other…read moreitems like the grilled chicken salad and pork leg stew. For this rainy weather pork leg stew is pure Asian comfort food. Both items are yummy options with the Thai pork leg stew (Khao kha mu) being sweet and savory with a variety of textures from the pork (gelatinous skin), tender meat along with other elements in this dish. NN Thai's version was good and reminded me of the Chinese-style of pickled pigs feet with sweet, dark vinegar. The side of pickled mustard greens, Chinese broccoli, steamed rice, boiled egg and side of garlic, chili vinegar helped to cut thru the sweetness as I'm usually not a fan of more sweet in my savory dishes. Just a preference For a ghost kitchen, it's a rarity a business interacts with the customer but the 2 owners/chef went above and beyond. There was a minor issue (system issues) with my order which to be honest didn't have much thought. The owner went out of her way and met with me to apologize for the delay, explained they're working out the kinks and offered a complimentary beverage which was not expected. A super sweet gesture and great customer service. Thank you! BTW the drinks were amazing! NN Thai Street Food is 2 weeks new to East Bay Eats ghost kitchen so be patient as the food is worth a visit!
