This review is ONLY for the Tea Leaf Salad…read more OK so I used to work in alameda years ago and we'd often come here to get the tea leaf salad. It was SO SO SO insanely good that we would pick it up for work lunches as well. It's been a while since i've eaten here and I was DEEEPLY craving the tea leaf salad and ordered one to go. But to my disappointment. the fermented tea leaves didn't taste like anything. No fermenty zing at all which is what makes this salad amazing and not just romaine lettuce and olive oil with some crunchy peanuts. I also could not detect ANY fish sauce either or even the sun dried shrimp or any of that tangy umami fish taste. What has happened? Does my memory deceive me? Am I the only one who has experienced this? Are my tastebuds dead??? I loved this salad :( Note two stars for the salad. But the coconut curry i ordered the day before was delish (4 starts for that).
