I needed a coney dog fix so I finally tried Skyline Chili's coney dogs. Two coneys with coney sauce, a few onions and mounds of cheese on each. I'm more of a good hotdog, coney sauce and lots of onions on it (no mustard please). The mounds of cheese was a little too much. But what surprised me was the small hotdogs they give you. Chili was decent, not enough chopped onions and way too much cheese (but that's how they make them). They were ok chili dogs. I have to say I like Sonics chili dogs better; at least you get a foot long dog. I miss the old Coney Island that used to be near High and Buttles but like every gentrification of Short North, the good places are replaced by chic nothing bars and restaurants. read more

We had to stop in for some Skyline Cincinnati chili while driving through Ohio. The chili is sooo delicious. If you don't know what Cincinnati style chili is, then be prepared for a whole new chili experience! Think cinnamon and Chinese 5-spice as strong components of the chili. Mmmmmmm They offer GLUTEN FREE options which was great for my daughter. She enjoyed the 3-WAY BAKED POTATO which comes with chili and cheese on top. I had to devour a classic 4-WAY CONEY DOG. The 4-WAY adds onions to the chili and cheese (or you can opt for beans instead of onions). The bun is perfectly moist and the hotdog is tender. This is the perfect dish here. How do you eat your Skyline? Skyline Chili serves up the most delicious 4-way. Spaghetti, secret-recipe chili, beans and a mound of cheese. Add oyster crackers and 2 packs of hot sauce. Start at the short end of the plate moving evenly towards the other side. Using a fork, cut top to bottom getting a little bit of everything. This way I get a taste of everything in one bite. The staff here are so lovely, and it's very clean which is nice. However, after visiting a few times I can say that they are so light handed with the chili on your food it almost seems like a joke given that the basis of the restaurant is chili. I've had chili cheese sandwiches and chilitos that are packed to the brim with cheese and onions and maybe a tablespoon of chili which is just such a bummer. The chili cheese sandwiches I had tonight were borderline dry buns with cheese on top. Inflation is killing us all I know, however if I'm paying four bucks for a chili cheese sandwich I expect it to be done right and as a Cincinnati transplant I know what the right chili to cheese ratio is. This ain't it. It's been basically the same way every time, so I know it's not a one-off bad experience. Also, the dining room was so cold I had to go out and get hoodies and a blanket for my family. The table behind us was saying how cold they were too. If you dine in plan accordingly with what you wear. I would advise driving to the Dublin Skyline, they always get it right. read more

If you're in Ohio you have to try Skyline Chili. I grew up here and have only had it twice. It's good not great. You do get a big ole plate for like $10 but it's chili over spaghetti noodles. This is my second time frequenting this location and while both times the food were great this time the service was outstanding as well. Our waitress, Lauren, was quick, friendly and attentive! If you've never been here and expect regular ol' chili be prepared to be thrown off. Come in with an open mind and I promise you'll love it. The chili is made with chocolate and cinnamon but to your surprise unless you're a super taster would you know that's what was in it. Its different but soooo good! They offer bowls of chili, chili dogs and other items but I highly suggest the traditional skyline chili served over a bed of spaghetti noodles and topped with a massive amount of cheese! Again, sounds odd but so delicious. I always get a five-way: chili +onions+cheese+beans on top of spaghetti. Our waitress also gave us a goodie bag for one of our guests because he had never been as a welcome/first visit bag. Can't wait to go back again. I wish they had these in Texas. read more

I eat at Skyline when I can but we don't have any where I am from. I love the place and eat at one when I can.

I think I'm stuck at 3 stars. I generally refuse to eat fast food, but I suppose this is more like Quick Serve more than fast food. Although, there is a diner but also a drive-through? It was really nice to be able to see the staff make the food right in front of us when we were sitting at the bar. The other thing is, come here for the good looking staff! Surprised!!! Um, Michelle INSISTED that we *had* to come by - of course, I trust her judgement and it was so close by - we stopped in before our 7 hour drive back to Chicago. I'd like to say, I'm a fan! I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but I did enjoy the coney's. Just with chili. I tried it with the cheese and the onions and felt the the cheese was overwhelming, and the onions were SO strong and so bitter. Same with the 5-way, I could do without the red kidney beans and the onions. We had a very fun experience here and a taste of "local" cuisine! It's not your typical chili - it has hints of cinnamon and it's more of a dark brown color then on the more maroon side. The consistency is also different being a more "runny" style chili with less chunks of meat. It's more like a chili sauce! I did love the cinnomon flavor though, will have to try that at home. Luckily, we're ladies and didn't experience any horrific episodes of car evacuation from high levels of gas from the chili and beans during our long road trip back :) read more

I needed a pit stop on a busy day, and this was handy. I like Cincinnati chili, but of the chains I prefer Gold Star. And we were headed to Cinci so I hoped to get some real local stuff later, so I wasn't sure what to get here. But hey, they now have wraps. I got a chicken wrap: a fair amount of chicken, good tortilla, fresh veggies, and chili ranch dressing which did have a slight kick and chili flavor. Good, quick roadfood. Service was excellent. Being from out of town, I wasnt sure what I was going to experience. What I found was good food and good service. Correction, Let me change that to Great service. The waitress (Tiffany) was very friendly and when she found out I was a first timer, she brought me out a two sided card that explained all of their traditions, and gave an origin story of their restaurant chain. I was already pretty happy with their service, but about half way through my meal, the manager Pete stopped by, and took service to the next level. Not only did he stop to have a couple of minutews of conversation with me, but then he gave me a Skyline can koozy filled with their mints, crackers, hot sauce, and a coupon for a free hot dog on my next visit. On top of all that, Pete picked up my lunch check as well. Phenomenal service for sure! As for the food, I had a small 3 way chili, which was basically spaghetti noodles, covered in their chili, then covered in shredded cheese. The chili is more of a sauce. Its not what your used to if you usually eat Texas style chili. In North Carolina, we would call it "Hot dog Chili". the flavor was good, and I now understand why they offer a bib, It would be really easy to get droplets of chili on your clothes if your not careful. I also had a cheese coney hotdog. It was good, but was a little small. Definately get two if this is your main course. to summerize, phenominal service and good food in a quick service sit down restaurant atmosphere. I highly recommend giving it a try. read more

My monthly yen for Cincy chili struck again so I hit this location again and it was Kids night to my chagrin but with my Kindle and free wifi little could keep me away from a cheesy chili three way today! I thankfully arrived after their dinner rush and my order was promptly taken and served in a matter of minutes, talk about immediate gratification. I don't claim to be an expert on Cincinnati chili. However, I am an UNBIASED critic of it! The first time I was introduced to Skyline (or "Skalini's" as some locals call it!) was about 5 years ago in Cincinnati, when I served as the "Unbiased Opinion" in a taste test to answer the age-old question, "Which is better? Skyline or Gold Star?" I ate a 5-way and a coney at each place. The verdict? They ARE different! And both very tasty! Skyline won out in the end, due to extra points for atmosphere. However, I think I have ended up eating Gold Star more, since they have a stand in the Cincinnati airport, which I would SPRINT to during my layovers there! On a recent road trip to Columbus, I was so excited to see a Skyline near my friend's house! I wanted to introduce my girlfriends to this unique style of fast food! No one seemed too thrilled about the prospect of chili and spaghetti together, but they were all good sports and gave it a try. The 5 of us went in right around noon, but the place was fairly empty, and we grabbed some seats at the bar so we could watch all the action. They make all the food right there in front of you in their open kitchen. Service was quick, and our cute servers were very friendly and chatted with us about our trip. The 5-way and the coney were just as good as I remember! 5 years is WAY too long to go without a 5-way! I was tempted to buy some cans of chili to take home with me (no Skyline in Chicago!) but $12+ for a 4-pack seems a bit excessive. YUMMO. Now that my latent cravings for Skyline have been awakened again, I might start a tradition of an annual trip to OH for my chili fix! read more

OK, for anyone expecting a bowl of Texas/whatever style bend-your-spoon-because-it's-so-thick-and-hearty chili, this IS NOT your place. Don't bother even stepping inside of the door. Skyline chili is better described as a sauce, not a "chili", but I digress. This isn't gourmet food by any stretch of the imagination, but it is quite tasty if you accept it for what it is. Skyline isn't fast food, but it isn't casual dining either ... really more of a "quick serve" restaurant. Order and you should have food on your table in about 3 - 5 minutes tops. I'm a true lover of coneys since I don't live in Chicago or New York so when I get a chance, I go and get the best device always. I usually use the drive through and no matter what location I go to, the server is always lively, friendly and upbeat. The food is hot, fresh and so tasty! I loved the skyline hot sauce so much that they gave me a complimentary bottle for free. I thought that was so nice. THe next time that I go to this particular location, I truly have to let management know that their staff is superb. I live about 10 minutes away from this location near US 23 and 750 because I live in Powell. I absolutely love the coney dogs. I also like the chili that they serve as well. No complaints at all. I grew up eating frozen Skyline chili as a favorite quick lunch, and have always loved its meaty mix of spice, salt, and cinnamon. But good as the frozen stuff is, the fresh is better, and this is a good location to get it at. To be sure, Skyline as a whole seems to do a good job at training its staff to be friendly and personable. Or maybe working at Skyline is just that awesome, I don't know, but the people you meet there always seem to be very nice and helpful, and this chain is no exception. As a customer, it's hard to be in a bad mood if you're in there very long, I think. Especially since you are likely there to partake of delicious chili comfort food. As the name implies, chili is the specialty. I've tried various things at Skyline, but my favorite is definitely the the three way chili mac, nice and simple. This is served in three sizes. Unless you have a really small appetite or just want a snack, though, get the regular or large. The small is, well, small. It might be good paired with another small dish, though. Prices are a bit higher than fast food, but you can easily get a decent meal for under $10. read more

Stopped in for lunch with a group of coworkers. The place was fairly busy during the weekday lunch hour. Its a very casual place where suits & ties along with casual family diners come to grab an inexpensive meal. This franchised location offers both a drive-thru and plenty of dine-in space. Plenty of parking spaces should you decide to dine-in. The service was prompt, friendly, attentive and helpful. There were a couple order mix-ups that were quickly rectified. Same great food as other Skyline locations. The menu offered a number of different portion sizes for the menu items. It also listed out calories for those paying closer attention to their diet. I was particularly hungry that day. So, I went with the large 5 way chili. The "ways" come in three varieties ... 3 way, 4 way and 5 way. 3 way is your basic ... it's spaghetti topped with skyline chili and mounded high with shredded cheese. With the 4 way, you have the option to choose for beans or onions. The 5 way simply includes both beans and onions. So, if you don't want beans or onions, choose either the 4 way or 3 way. The large sized portion was quite a good size portion to satisfy my hungry appetite. All priced quite reasonably. They also offer coneys, burritos, chilitos, salads, cheese fries and potatos. I have enjoyed Skyline for many years, but was disappointed to learn Skyline Chili does not welcome concealed handgun license holders. I tried to take my family for Skyline after church, where I choose to lawfully carry for our collective protection. I was not comfortable upon reading the policy posted on the door to turn around, go back to the car, draw my pistol and secure it in the car. We just left and went to lunch at another place without the posted restriction. I hope Skyline eventually reverses this policy and welcomes customers who choose to carry lawfully, but until then I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I loved the chilli, I'm not normally a massive fast food fan, but this was great It wasn't just the chilli, what really made dinner fun and fab were the staff.
