There is cheese on here, but barely. Usually my order is wrong or if I ask for ketchup I'm given one single packet. Swensons Drive-In located in Dublin outside of Columbus Ohio that my family and I stopped by while in town from Lousiville. We was visiting the nearby leatherlips sculpture around lunch time When I seen there was a Swensons nearby. Despite being from Lousiville I've always heard from Fellow yelpers and Cleveland browns fans online that if your in northern Ohio that you have to try one of these locations. So I finally crossed a visit off my list. This location was pickup only. You pull into a spot and a worker comes Out gives you a menu, takes your order, delivery's your food and collects payment. The setup had the 50s carhop diner vibe being pickup only which I'm personally of a fan of. The Service workers here were outstanding. They were both hustling all over and getting things done. Our gentleman was very helpful For some first timers. I personally went with the burger that makes Thai establishment unique in getting the Galley Boy burger. Which is a cheeseburger with bbq sauce and tartar sauce on it. Sounds strange right? Well it looked and tasted delicious. A very good burger and maybe the best "fast food" burger I've had. I added on the limited addition mint chocolate chip Shake to my order cause I'm a sucker for anything mint chocolate and it was tasty shake. The rest of the family got a chili, some Chicken nuggets, fries and fried mushrooms. They also got shakes of root beer, peanut butter hot fudge, and chocolate. Everyone enjoyed there foods immensely. I tasted the fries and fried mushrooms and both were very good and had nice flavor. Overall a feat experience and now I'm Super jealous we do not have these in Lousiville. I'm not sure if we got lucky with the service or not but the workers were top notch. I've heard the food was great and it did not disappoint. While visiting the area we drove by Swensons and decided to try it out for lunch. Once you park, someone will come out to your vehicle to take your order and deliver your food. The menu is mostly burgers and sides with a few additional options (chicken strip or shrimp dinner, etc) plus milkshakes. I felt like I was at a fancier sonic and the food was definitely a step up in quality. Two of us tried the classic Galley Boy (double cheeseburger with two special sauces) and really enjoyed it. I think once sauce was bbq based and another was sort of like 1000 island. Also tried the onion rings and potato teezers (potato, cheese and jalapeno). The onion rings were good but had a lot of breading, the potato teezers were awesome. Highly recommend. My partner tried the chicken strip dinner with fries and applesauce and enjoyed it. The shakes were also solid too. Service was friendly and fast. Overall I'd recommend trying it out and I'll be back! read more

Stopped in to grab dinner and try the limited time caramel apple milkshake. The shake was great - tasted like those caramel covered apple suckers. I always like their potato teezers with the cheese and jalapeño inside and dipping them in ranch. Also ordered a double cheeseburg with ketchup. The reason for losing a star was slow service. Fast food without fast food is Swenson's. The price is about the same ($33 for 2 adults and 2 kids), but the food is so much better. The burgers are beefy. Not as a description of thickness, but in taste. They just taste like real beef. I had the Galley Boy, we has a creamy, tangy, tart, barbecue-y sauce. It was delicious. My son went ketchup, cheese, meat, and was very happy. My daughter got the chicken nuggets and didn't complain at all-- which is a glowing review. Did I mention that price included shakes for everyone? And real milkshakes and tasty ones. The service was great. We were greeted right away. Our waiter showed hustle enough to impress and when my daughter demanded a last minute milkshake, he didn't bat an eye. Lastly, the fries. Maybe in the ten best French fries ever. I've been to Swensons a few times since they've started popping up around Columbus. I recently took my nephew for a bite to eat after exploring some parks nearby. This location was right around the corner and we figured this was a safe option for dining out since welp, you're actually dining in your car. We pulled in around 1:30 on a Friday afternoon and while the place was obviously experiencing their lunch-time rush, we were easily able to snag a parking spot and get friendly, speedy service from start to finish. I was happy to see every one of their car dashers wearing masks and made sure to put mine one while giving my order. My nephew went with a plain cheese burger and fries while I opted for their fish sandwich and the potato teezers. Everything came out piping hot and in a very timely manner. Finally, tried my first drive-in experience today. Please, be careful when pulling in and leaving from here as the workers are literally sprinting around continuously toward all the cars. After you park, they give you a menu and when you're ready to order you turn your headlights on. You pay once they bring the food out to you and can add your tip then as well. I ordered the galley boy with lettuce, the lettuce is an extra $0.30. I also ordered the onion rings, fries, and a strawberry milkshake. Hot some ranch for the onion rings, which is extra as well and I wish I didn't as it was literally just ranch dressing, and for onion rings I prefer something zesty, not plain ranch. As for the burger and the two special sauces it has, I'm still a Frisco melt kind of person from Steak n Shake. The shake was good, but nothing extraordinary. They do have several beverage options though, so I may have to go for a special shake next time. The fries weren't crunchy, but the best item by far were the onion rings themselves. They use their own special recipe and I found the crunch and batter super delicious. Second Visit Tips: The Galley boy is not for everyone, so if you like your burger without the extras, the cheesburg is perfect with your favorite toppings! Add cajun seasoning to your onion rings/fries. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich today and said it was delicious and fresh. I tried the sloppy joe and I'm so glad I did! Ima rate a restaurant on 3 criteria, price, food, and service. The food is an easy 5/5, juicy burgers crispy onion rings and fries are excellent. My server was incredibly nice and did not rush us and there were many burger customizations which earns a 5/5. A quick spot for a meal that's what you expect from fast food. The employees are fast - so fast that I was barely parked before they were at my window ready to take my order. I got the chicken nuggets and French fries. The chicken nuggets weren't the best, but still a solid option! I enjoyed the fries because they weren't as salty as other places. Their food is pretty darn good and I'm not really a huge fan of fried/fast food. We ended up pulling in here after an unplanned trip to the vet (dogs...gotta love 'em) and were desperate for some food after running errands all morning and coming home to the pup and his disaster. We needed something to eat - I didn't want the typical McDonald's or Wendy's - but we also had the dog and couldn't really go inside anywhere. As my friends know, I'm a self-confessed burger fanatic and am always on the hunt for the best burger in town. Years ago when I worked in the Akron area, I was a big fan of Swenson's Drive-in. This is an old style dine-in where you turn on your headlights and they run out to your car to take your order. You can either have it "to-go" or they can hang a tray on the side of your car and you can eat it there. Needless to say, I was really excited when it was announced that Swenson's was coming to Columbus (currently 2 locations - 1 in the Polaris area near Top Golf and one on Sawmill Road. I think a 3rd one is in the works). Well, it's been over 20 years since my last Swenson's Galley Boy burger and fries but it was as good as I remembered. They have other menu options including other burgers and chicken but I've always been a fna of the Galley Boy and that's all I've ever ordered - except for fries, of course, and an occasional old-school style chocolate milk shack. Swenson's gives a whole new meaning to fast food and should not even be thought of in the same vein as other traditional fast food joints.
