There is no sign or person indicating anything about the wait time at any point, and once you get past the entrance, you're trapped in the line with no way to exit for at least an hour. From the entrance, you can't see the whole line or tell how many cars ahead of you are waiting for inspections - no way to guess how long the wait might be if you haven't done it before. The staff person who did my inspection was not very friendly, and when I said "I really wish you'd put up a sign that says it's a 3 hour wait" (without a rude or angry tone, just weary), he ignored me and just told me how much I owed him. No hint of kindness or apology for the insane wait time. I wish I had read the reviews, because this seems to have been an issue here for at least a year. A simple sign to set expectations or even just kind words from the staff could've mitigated the horrible experience.

I searched and searched for somewhere that seemed like their reviews reflected that same thing i was looking for. Falling on some hard times i had a registration that was expired for 2 years as well as my safety and my car hasn't been maintenanced in god knows how long, thank goodness i have a Toyota! Finally able to stop riding dirty and get caught up, i was in search for someone to check my service light as well as do my failed safety so i could get my reg. After searching for a place review after review, it seemed that Pearl City Auto Works stood out to me. I messaged on yelp and someone got back to me within an hour or two and i was told to bring the car the following day to get looked and and possibly leave it overnight. Even though i need my car, i was going to do what it took so i can get my car legal again. Upon checking in i was greeted by a Shay ( i think that was her name) she went over everything with me. I left and later that day around 5:30 i got a call from the tech saying that everything was done and i could pick it up, i was confused because it was past their working hours but he said they were still working! That was already amazing to me that they were working even after they were technically closed. They also have a texting system with pictures to tell you what is good about your car, what needs to be fixed sooner rather than later and things that need to be fixed but not as urgent. As another reviewer said they have a lot of parking as they are located near where Ige's is. Upon pick up i got my bill and was not overcharged for anything and they did not try to do services that were unnecessary, very affordable in my eyes. I am definitely coming back here again and again!! Love the customer service and even when i talked to the technician he was super nice, usually they are grumpy and trying to end the convo. And, it was really nice speaking to them over the phone (and not a robot or foreign call center!). This time I was helped by Charlee, she was very helpful and sweet. I asked if my tire qualified for the prorate, and she said yes and gave me the full estimate with their billing software, and I was impressed by how quickly she sent it to my email. But before moving forward, I compared Lex Brodie's to their competitors. Lex Brodie's had the tires I needed in stock, was a 10 minute drive from home, and offered the best price with current promotions, so I decided to go with them. It is also convenient with how close Pearlridge Mall, nearby local shops, and the Kalauao Pearlridge (rail) Station is. Dealers recommend wheel alignment every six months. Much cheaper to get regular wheel alignment than to replace tires. Plus you get a better driving experience. Chung's is located on Dillingham Blvd (makai side) across Honolulu Community College. Don't let the current rail road construction deter you from getting here. Best to call and to make an appointment. Wheel alignment takes about an hour. Waiting area is limited. Wear your Hokas or comfortable walking shoes to venture about. City Square SC and Kapalama SC are nearby so you can grab a bite to eat while you are waiting.

One pump ran my debit as credit needing a zipcode and the other ran my debit as debit needing a pin. It was a weird fiasco and we did this using 3 of the 8 pumps available. Gas tanks not sold here, try Longs or Safeway. Relatively clean and no litter in the station.
