Somehow, when those flavors were mixed together, it created an strange, unpleasant taste that is hard to describe. A colleague who ordered the same thing said that it felt like something was missing, but wasn't sure what it was. They had samples of Berry Merry available, so I tasted that, and it tasted good. The berry merry is organic jasmine green tea with house-made strawberry puree and orange juice; I should have ordered that. The service was good because ordering through their website resulted in error messages that I couldn't address, but the staff made up for it by taking orders over the phone. This review is long overdue. I'm going to say it.. Sinceretea is the best boba spot in San Jose (in my opinion) I'm from SF and the peninsula so there were so many options to choose from. In the South Bay, specifically San Jose, your options are quite limited. I moved here a few years ago and once I discovered Sinceretea, its been my recommendation to all my friends. First off, staff is ALWAYS so friendly and on top of it. They are quick! I get the Mango Paradise 25% sweet with Boba which comes out to be $8.30 pretax and tip. It's so good. The Jasmine tea is brewed PERFECTLY. There isn't that dry, astringent, bitterness you get when its over steeped. I'm not sure what they use for the Mango or coconut flavoring, but it's not syrupy like most places. The boba is perfectly cooked and on the softer side, but gives the perfect chew. This is my favorite type of pearl, similar to Boba Guys pearls. I've had their Jasmine Milk Tea with green tea foam. Omg so delicious and simple. Jasmine tea was brewed perfectly and matcha foam was lightly sweetened like a cream/cheese topper. I've also had their mochi egg puffs however not my favorite. It was a little too dense for me and the eggy taste is muffled. It's a nice quiet place if you want to get some work done in there. There is limited seating, but I don't think I've ever seen it full. Cute tea place within walking distance from my home. I ordered a large Mintea Hibiscus 50%sweet and it was pretty good. I think hibiscus is an acquired taste, so it wasn't the greatest but I could tell it was good quality. I also ordered a Thai latte for my husband so I could surprise him with it at work and he absolutely loved it. Thai tea is his usual go to drink, so I think the coffee was an added bonus! It's good tea although I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. But I live at the apartments across the street, so is it ever out of my way? So far have tried: Citrus Punch, Double Dose, and dark roasted oolong tea. All 25% sweetness which I think works best for them except for the dark roasted oolong. I would get 0% next time for dark roasted oolong. Citrus Punch so far is the best but I think not enough of the tea flavor comes out. I still prefer Happy Lemon for the citrusy tea. The rose jelly is good. Tip: order online. Save on wait time. There's really no one to take your order when you walk in. Only an iPad. This might possibly be one of the cutest cafe I've ever stumbled upon. My friend and I drove to San Jose for the Waitress musical, and just wanted a hot drink before we watch, so I Yelped a tea place while we were on the way and this one caught my attention (most possibly because of the egg puffs)! Sinceretea has a little outdoor seating area that's fenced off from the rest of the sidewalk. It would be awesome to enjoy your tea in this outdoor area on a nice, sunny day, or maybe even on an overcast. Stepping inside, you're immediately greeted by the cashier and there's a large menu right next to the entry way for you to look at. Because this was our first time coming across this place, my friend and I looked at the menu for a good couple minutes, but we were indecisive about what to order. I think the cashier noticed this so he asked us if we had any questions regarding the menu. We asked him for some recommendations and he told us they have a seasonal menu (which I didn't notice until he pointed it out) and he also recommended the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea. I ended up ordering the Sesame Milk Tea off their seasonal menu and my friend ordered the Roasted Oolong for herself. Between us we also shared a Sesame Mochi Egg Puff. It took about 5 minutes for them to make our order and during this time I took a good look at the decorations and their merchandise. Their merchandise are absolutely cute! Also, I love how they decorated the cafe with small plants here and there. It gives off a comforting and relaxing vibe. My Sesame Milk Tea (non dairy milk alternative) smelled fragrant, but taste wise it wasn't what I expected. It was sesame infused with tea, and the tea was overpowering the sesame taste. I would have preferred my Sesame Milk Tea to have a stronger sesame taste to it, but overall it was good. I was also able to get some sesame grinds towards the bottom of my drink. I also got a taste of my friend's Roasted Oolong and hers was definitely a good recommendation - both earthy and warming. After a couple minutes of enjoying our drinks, our Sesame Mochi Egg Puff arrived! The outer layer of the egg puff is slightly crunchy, and as for the inside, the mochi makes for a chewy bite. The sesame in the egg puff also came off as mild and initially the egg puff was quite enjoyable, but it gets too sweet as you eat more of it. Overall, a pretty good cafe! We came across this place thanks to the positive Yelp reviews, and being from the East Bay, we decided to make the trip to San Jose just to try it out. Unfortunately, our first experience was a bit underwhelming. When we arrived, there was a teenager working the kiosk who didn't greet us at all, and there was already a line forming. The customer ahead of us had trouble placing their order, and after about five minutes of waiting, it was finally our turn--only for the kiosk to malfunction for us as well. We tried multiple times and eventually alerted the worker, but her response was very nonchalant and indifferent. She directed us to try ordering online, but that didn't work either. After a couple of calls to the owner (in a very unhurried manner), the worker gave up and decided to give us our drinks for free. While we appreciated the gesture, there was no apology or sense of urgency, which was disappointing. That said, the drinks were delicious! The tea was strong, and the Boba had that perfect chewy consistency. Despite the frustrating experience with the ordering process, we left satisfied with our drinks. We came back recently to attend one of their advertised workshops for 2025. The workshop had only been posted recently, and we were really excited to learn how boba tea is made. My partner even emailed them, but we never got a response. When we arrived, the woman who greeted us seemed to be the owner, but she never even introduced herself or said her name. She handed us a bag of supplies and led us to our seats. The atmosphere felt a bit awkward--she seemed nervous, reading off a script, and the calm Chinese music playing in the background didn't really help set the tone. We had to sit next to strangers, and there wasn't even enough room for my partner and I to sit together at first. The class felt rushed, and to top it off, we didn't even wash our hands before handling the supplies or ingredients, which felt a little concerning. There was no introduction or ice-breaking, which would've helped make the experience feel more engaging. For $40 per person, it wasn't worth it--especially since we ended up with two sets of supplies, one for each of us, when we could've easily shared. They should've had us make our drink together and leave with a full beverage, but instead, we didn't even get Boba in our drinks. The whole experience felt misleading and underwhelming, though I'll say the quality of the drinks is still great. Overall, I'm not sure if I'll go out of my way to return. Alright, I'll admit it. I'm on a mochi binge. If you say mochi, I'll be there. This place has been on my list forever, but it wasn't until my sister stayed with us, that I started coming here. They also have mochi waffles, but, unfortunately, they're not offering them right now. At first we tried sesame and matcha. We both preferred matcha. Sesame was good, but matcha was better. Sinceretea is super refreshing! I've been meaning to write a review for this place. I've had some inconsistencies with their drinks and the only thing I ever get is their Roasted Oolong tea. Today was made perfect. And I've also had it on multiple occasions like how it was made today (whoever the barista is that worked at 2 PM today, the tea was bomb!). Boba wasn't too soft, not too hard. Tea was roasty tasting and did not taste watered down like how I've had it on different occasions. One time I had it where it literally tasted like water, sugar, and boba. Closer to a green tea flavor rather than a dark roasted tea. Check out the steep times maybe? Other than that, Sinceretea also listened to my suggestion on fixing something within their app which is great! It was a struggle to get a drink with no creamer and now there's an option for it. I've also tried their Roasted Oolong tea leaves which is sold in a pack of I forgot how many ozs and the price, sorry . The location is very clean and sleek, definitely anything and everything here is instagram worthy if that's what your into. It's a close walking distance to japantown but not in japantown, you kind of have to walk outside of it. They are like on the outer edge near residential area. If it wasn't for yelp and google maps, I would never have found the place. They don't use the sealed covers which I always appreciate because I like to buy one for later or one for the husband and let it roll around in my backpack. I came here over the summer for their Dreamy drink series and the mochi egg puff waffles. The Dreamy series are very cute with white clouds in the drink so it's very insta-worthy - tasty, but it is a fancier name for a milkshake. I've been to sinceretea a few times now and I've enjoyed the drinks I've gotten. The specials are always fun and enticing. Most recently I got the mango paradise drink with coconut jelly and loved it. I also love the samples which help me discover new flavors to try out. My only feedback is with so many apartment buildings now nearby it feels like serving coffee would be really convenient and profitable (especially with the average options nearby). The drinks are solid, and my memory of the waffles were good even if they were pretty small for $6, but it's the closest spot to me that offers mochi waffles. The second time from DoorDash: circular and dense as fck like they slabbed it onto the waffle maker and half-assed it to get an order that could not be complained about. I've been here once & my second visit was just alright. I literally stepped in at 11am. I was a bit distraught due to them not having much available and not being understaffed. I self ordered but when I tried to pay, I noticed the device wasn't on to charge for transaction. I quickly notified one of the employees and after she got it to work, it still had a hiccup so I had to select back and pay again. Luckily it did that because after she turned it on and had me try again, I noticed it was charging me for a tip % when I previously selected none... it felt a bit blindsiding. I waited no more than 2 mins for my drink and I very much enjoyed the Pumpkin Pie (Earl Grey tea) seasonal bev. The Pumpkin Cream they add on top is scrumptious! Literally tasted like I was sipping pie. Although, I did have a few sips containing clumps that tasted like allspice with a freeze dried marshmallow texture/consistency... The menu offers milk tea, yogurt drinks, smoothies, and egg puff waffles. They have cute cups/mugs to purchase if you choose. The interior is themed with succulents and clouds, making it the perfect place for a photo-op. The outdoor patio has twinkling lights at night as well. I can't say much about the milk tea here but the smoothies are refreshing, especially on a hot day in the Bay Area. The drinks were beautifully crafted with bits of milky areas resembling clouds. *Dreamy taro: 4/5 Taro tasted a bit artificial but it was still good. It was too much on the sweet side for my taste though. *Dreamy rose: 5/5 Creamy with a strong floral flavor. So refreshing! *Matcha mochi waffle: 4/5 The waffle had little bits and pieces of mochi in it which gave it great texture. I just wish the matcha flavor was more prominent. It tasted like a normal egg waffle. Service was great, the workers are friendly and helpful in making a selection (especially when you're overwhelmed by the menu). The drinks and waffles came out within 5 or 6 minutes. Sinceretea is located in an awkward spot between residential area and Japan town. Expect to find limited street parking nearby. read more

Cute boba/ coffee place near downtown so parking is very hard to find. However the drinks are very interesting and so taste delicious. A bit on the pricier side but it's definitely worth checking out. There's seating inside and outside. read more
