Dear Yelp, I just left Sin and they have committed the most deadly of customer service sins. Let me start by saying, I've been to this establishment 5 times in the past to just order dessert. Tonight, I decided to bring my two friends and order drinks and dessert. We were so excited, we even ditched karaoke. When we went to the bar surrounded by 8 other people, the gentleman bartender told us "there were 5 drinks ahead of us". He honestly made it seem like we were inconveniencing him by even being there. We asked if we should come up to the bar and he said to return. We went up to the bar 10 minutes later and he said "there are 5 drinks/people ahead of you" and left us with no further direction; no "I'll let you know when I'm ready for you", no apology, nothing. As we ate our delicious desserts and they were delicious served by kind women, he continued to serve 2-4 people that recently walked in. He was concerned with 3 women toward the end of the bar and were convinced we would never get served. We didn't. We left and we probably won't return again. Love, Vanity, Sloth, and Lust read more

Well, then Sin Desserts is for you. I first met Jennifer in January 2010 at an expo where I sampled their tasty cakes and pitched my dream wedding cake. She said that they had indeed made a Godzilla cake for a child's birthday and seemed to look forward to making a wedding cake with monsters on it. In the months leading up to the wedding, I ordered a birthday "present" cake that defied my simple expectations- it was a semi-opened present with lemon-flavoured gum paste edible "tissue paper". The cake was a fabulous chocolate bourbon-raspberry buttercream cake. Several months later, I picked up another fabulous Dalek cake for my friend's birthday. It was a thing of exterminating beauty. For the cake itself we went with the chocolate bourbon combo along with a yellow champagne and lemon filled cake. "have you seen the cake?", our guests asked, marveling at the monstrous cake with the Godzilla and Mothra toppers made by Sin. The cake was moist and tasty to boot! When ordering your cake, Sin gives you the option (with a nominal fee) to have a fresh cake for your first anniversary instead of keeping a tier in your freezing and risking freezer burn and a lack of flavour. We took this option and look forward to having a new cake next year. read more

We had Sin do our wedding cupcakes on September 1st and they did an amazing job. We got four different cupcakes and one small cake for us to cut. They came with a cupcake stand and got everything set up and I had to return the stand after the weekend. Thank you very much for great service! Sin Desserts is my go-to bakery! They have executed my vision time and time again. They are very professional. I love them! In April, I had a vision for a cake. It was to celebrate a MA State Police graduation. Sin did a phenomenal job bringing my idea to life. The cake was delicious and the detail was just amazing. This is a cute little shop that seems mainly focused on weddings. small selection of treats. I tried an oatmeal cookie whoopie pie with maple filling, a strawberry cupcake with champagne frosting, and a devils food cupcake. The cakes are good and the flavors in general are good, but the frosting is very thick. The texture is the same as a semi soft stick of butter. It is smooth but too heavy for my taste and not easy on the stomach. The cake part of the strawberry cupcake was my favorite. I was hoping for a basic vanilla or red velvet cupcake but no luck. The woman working was very nice, Jeannie. I hear they are moving to Westminster so that will be a better location for them. While sometimes heavy-handed, Sin is a delightful West Side alternative to the classic Pastiche, with a comprehensive menu of desserts complimented by coffee or wine/beer options. Their chocolate bourbon cake is outstanding and definitely worth a taste. The coffee is good, and they have a small but sufficient offering of alcoholic beverages if that's more your style. I've always been happy with my cake choices at Sin, and the name couldn't be more fitting. They are incredibly decadent, and not for the faint of heart. Personally, I love to get a dessert and stretch it out over a few days. One small tip though - they have a funfetti cake that is good, but it's basically a dense vanilla cake with sprinkles inside. If the true funfetti experience is what you want, swing by the grocery store for the boxed mix instead :) read more

My brother and sister-in-law were coming into town, and my wife and I wanted to have a nice dessert to celebrate their recent anniversary. I called Sin and asked if they could squeeze in a "semi-custom" cake with just a couple of days notice, and they were very accommodating. We went for a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chocolate buttercream. The cake was ready when promised, and they'd done an excellent job decorating it with no more instruction to go on than "whatever you think looks best." The cake itself was dense and moist, the raspberry jam very perceptible, and the chocolate buttercream was fantastic. A small cake handily served four adults over two separate sittings; we ate half of it that night, and then splurged and had the other half for breakfast. The cake wasn't cheap, but it wasn't outrageous either, and I'd rather pay a little more for quality. The location's a little out of the way, but not difficult to get to. Service was friendly and professional. Overall, I strongly recommend Sin. read more

The bartender was exceptionally well versed in his craft, and made incredibly careful beverages which were a fantastic treat. I've been here now several times, as they are really our closest neighborhood bar. It doesn't hurt that their desserts are great too! We love the bartender(s) here, and have tried many creative drinks over the past several months. Basically whatever concoction they dream up is going to impress you. Just let the 'tender know your drink preferences and hey will guide you to something you'll like. I have not yet tried their beers on tap, but that's something other patrons have assured me they do well too. The desserts are very good too. I recommend trying, well, everything. Their plated desserts are always creative, flavorful, and fun to try and share (or not!). Some favorites have been a tiramisu, ginger creme brûlée, affogato... my husband LOVES this place because of its extensive gluten free menu. Recent favorites of his include a GF brownie, lime coconut cheesecake, and a pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting. My only gripe is that sometimes their pre-made desserts tend to be overly sweet. However pricing is great, the hours are perfect and we will be back! read more

My husband and I went here for dessert and drinks after dinner last night. Let's just say this is my new favorite dessert spot. My husband had the coffee negroni. He is very picky about cocktails, and he loved it. They have so many interesting cocktails on their menu. We shared the tiramisu which was presented in a non traditional way. The dessert was stunning and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Sin also has a case of desserts that you can enjoy their or take to go. I purchased some desserts to bring home for relatives because they had gluten free options. One of the workers offered to put the desserts in their refrigerator while we enjoyed ours. My family raved about the cupcakes. Overall, I highly recommend Sin. I will definitely be back to enjoy more desserts! read more

Thanks to Yelp, found this yummy bakery. We are from out of town (Puerto Rico), staying at the Providence Biltmore, and our relative invited us over for dinner. We ordered a Grooms cake for our daughters wedding from Sin and it was amazing. Cannot say enough of how easy they were to work with and how beautiful and perfectly delicious this cake was. It was huge bowl of spaghetti and meatballs with a groom in a tuxedo sitting in it holding a glass of red wine on top of an Italian Flag sheet cake. It was truly a work of art and flavor was a chocolate and chocolate bourbon with chocolate buttercream with fondant frosting all over. Just perfect and a big hit at the wedding! Asked if she had coffee, as the sign states they have coffee, and we ordered pastry. Her reply? "No but I guess I could make some", and she didn't, not very friendly at all. We had a beautiful wedding at Blithewold in Bristol, RI. Everything was perfect - minus the cake. It was so embarrassing I had the staff hide it. I couldn't believe it was happening to us. I thought I was being smart by using a bakery rather than our caterer (regretting that now) & on top if it, I picked a cake that they had made before!! I saw the cake in a magazine & knew that was the perfect cake for us. When I went in for tasting they even had the cake in one of their books. I told them that's what I want. What we got was horrendous. I couldn't believe someone thought that was acceptable. It was lopsided, lumpy, cracked & absolutely nothing like what I had picked out. The owners reasoning was that she wasn't there that weekend. I don't understand how a company can stay in business when they can't make a cake better than a 5 year old when the boss isn't around & have the audacity to actually send something that awful out the door. I wish I read more reviews before going with them because scrolling down here I can see I'm not the only one they've done this to. Brides beware - it was the biggest disappointment of our day & the last thing I would have guessed would go wrong. Tried Sin twice now, and I'm pretty sure I know all I need to know about them. First time they screwed up the order - ordered chocolate frosting, they put white on the cake. When I pointed out error, they scraped all they could off the cake then re-frosted it. Crazy. For a $25 (really small) cake, that was pretty unacceptable. Second time they called me to tell me they lost my order, then when I called them back they said they had found it. Okay... ordered Guinness cake, and it was a total bust. No one liked it; it was dense and pretty tasteless. It just literally didn't taste like anything at all. I've made Guinness cupcakes myself, and I know how well it can complement chocolate, so this was a huge disappointment. It's a shame, because I think they could be good. I don't like writing negative reviews, but I feel I have to in this case. We went in to have a tasting for a wedding cake. I really wanted to like it, we get a discount because of where we are getting married and cupcakes we tried did taste great, but the woman we met with was horrible. She acted like she didn't care at all about us, my fiancé tried asking about some of the designs and shapes and was blown off, and she just had a negative vibe the whole time. I felt like I was inconveniencing her and that she was just waiting for us to leave. To be fair we were about 20 min late but still. My husband and I heard about this place and decided to check them out a few weeks before our wedding. Jennifer & Ginger were very quick to respond to our inquiry for a last minute wedding cake. We immediately liked Jennifer's style when we met her; artistic and honest, she doesn't try to schmooze and is a very real person. with just 3 weeks notice, she made a 4 tier gorgeous wedding cake. the design was EXACTLY what we wanted and the colors were great. we were able to taste 6 flavors of cakes and fillings and ended up selecting a hazelnut cake with a chocolate ganache filling and a chocolate guiness cake with a nutella filling...so yummy. to add to our requests, about a week and a half before the wedding we threw in more to our order including: mini tartless, cookies, cream puffs, and more. our wedding guests LOVED everything and the selection looked beautiful and tasted great. Sin was easy to work with, cost effective, and the quality (taste and design) was great. Ordered my daughters sweet 16 cake. The cake its self looked beautiful & they delivered on time. That's the only good thing I can say. The fondant was so thick & hard we could barely cut it. The inside of the cake was dry. No one liked the cake & threw it away. $300 went to the trash. I paid an extra $10 for a cake topper that turned out to be fondant on a stick. The owner reached out to me and asked what was I expecting for a cake topper. Definitely not fondant on a stick. Amazing job on my son's first birthday cake. I was pretty vague as to what I wanted - safari theme with my son's name - and they did an amazing job! I actually gasped when I saw it because I kinda expected a white cake with a few animals drawn on it. Instead we got elaborate sugar animals and a true safari theme. It was almost too cute to eat!
