Truly the worst Thai food I have ever had. Ordered delivery. Had spicy garlic edamame which came with no spice or garlic and were not defrosted. Crispy panang noodles with tofu and extra vegetables came with no tofu and 5 small veggies (1 piece of broccoli, 2 carrot slivers, a mushroom and a peapod). Also tried the Tom Yum soup which was not flavorful. Would not try them again. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!! I placed a lunch order, and it was delivered incorrectly. I called and and explained what happened and the delivery driver stated that I made him wait 10 minutes, which was incorrect it was 3 minutes from the time I got the email stating my food arrived to the time I went to meet the driver to sign the CC receipt. By the time I got to the receptionist desk in my office I could see the driver leaving, so I wasn't able to sign the CC receipt for him. So I when I called and explained that to him as well, then he stated (loudly)that he is not a liar and he knows how long it was, and what did I want to do about my order. I asked him why he was raising his voice, and I explained that I wanted my correct order, he went on to say (calmer) that they are very busy and he doesn't have time to bring anything back. I asked was I just supposed to take whatever they decide to give me? The delivery driver stated he couldn't bring the order back. I said fine, please come back and get the entire order and I would like my money back. The driver yelled, that I could kiss the order goodbye and to never order from there again and hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to a manager, I was told he wasn't there and to call back in 2 hours. I called back, and spoke to "Alex" who said he was the manager. "Alex" when asked for his name said that was beside the point, and he would have to speak to his driver to get his side of the story, and hung up in my face. I called back, and he stated he was done talking to me, I explained that they get a lot of business from my company and I couldn't believe I was being treated so poorly, "Alex" seemed completely uninterested, and unapologetic about the whole situation, and stated that he will refund my money and hung up, he never asked for a card number, phone number, or any of my identifying information. I filed a complaint with the BBB since I think that's probably the only way I will get my money back. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! read more

My favorite dish here is Red Sea. I love, love, love the taste. The quality of the seafood is very good and very nice portions. I think it is priced right for the quality of food you get. I would recommend this place. read more

I've only been here once and it was today for lunch. I ordered the drunken noodles off grubhub. It was kinda pricey but I wasn't really too concerned with cost as long as the food was good and it was filling. I picked my order up and was disappointed by the amount of food that I was getting. The container was only half filled and it didn't even taste that good. I was still hungry after eating it so I ended up going to Mariano's and getting something else to eat for lunch. What a waste! I won't be back. read more

Food is rather ordinary. If you've never experienced real Thai food before, it will probably be OK. If you know what things taste like in Bangkok, you'll certainly be disappointed. Owner refuses to accommodate requests to make food any more authentic at all (even the simplest things!). The limit of variation is "How spicy 1 to 5? I make it Bangkok spicy OK?" I had the Chicken Basil, which was really like a Chinese stir-fry with some chili added. Certainly a disappointing dish. read more

Just moved to Northbrook from the city and I've been skeptical about the take out food around the suburbs. I am very impressed with Simply Thai! The food tastes better than the city Thai places!!! Pad See Ew and Pad Thai have great flavor. Also ordered the Crab Rangoon and it was excellent. Will be ordering again soon!!! read more

Have always found the food at Simply Thai to be very good and consistent every time. I carry out in Northbrook for my office staff at least 3 times a month and that number may grow!!! Friendly helpful service and on time deliveries make Simply Thai a Jewel in the North suburbs. Hope they expand to the SW burbs .....Would love to eat on the weekends too I highly recommend! read more

Really good takeout/delivery. The food is always good and very fresh. They have the standard "american thai," but also many other unique dishes that should be tried. I had something called the salmon Choo-Chee recently and it was delicious. Ideally they would have a sit down restaurant, but for now only takeout and delivery. read more

Had the pad thai. Flavor was good, but it was about 97% noodles. Some bean sprouts and nuts, but that's about it. Wish there were more veggies, especially at that price. This place is not suitable for dining in -- Best to take out. read more

I have to say, this is a good thai place around town, unless you decide to drive far. Love their curries, and fried rice. Beside these, all the food taste the same. The people are pretty nice too. I took one star off, because the price is slightly pricey. Take a dollar off, and I raise the start to a four. read more

Don't typically order from here but was in a hurry and needed somewhere close. I specifically requested 'nothing spicy' on my Pad Thai. It came home SO SPICY that we couldn't eat it. When I called the restaurant back, I intended to just ask for my money back. The very kind gentlemen on the phone said he would make another one but I didn't want to go out again and pick it up. He suggested making a new one and delivering it to me instead!! What a great idea. What a great resolution. It was delicious and refreshing to get some great customer service. We will definitely be going back. Thank you. Thank you. read more

I'm surprised a Thai carry out restaurant have a really high quality of food, got their Tom Yum soup, flavor a little too strong but it's OK, maybe next time need to try their another Tom Yum soup with coconut milk one, appetizers were good, chicken satay is tasty, always taste so good when you dip in their peanuts sauce. I split the entree with my boyfriend, we got scallop basil, it was a jumbo size of scallop and eggplant just perfectly fired. Simply Thai rocks! read more

Average Thai at an average price. Ordered the Tom Kha soup and the Mussamun curry with chicken. Both were fine, but nothing special. Not sure if I will go back, will try some other Thai places in Northbrook and see how,it compares. read more

Best Thai place ever in Northbrook. Got 15% off in first order. I got 3 dishes. All of them are delicious. Overall, this place out 10/10. Difinitely coming back. read more

OK, so I've tried this place more than several times now and I have to "up" my review. Here are the dishes that have been consistently good: crab rangoon, panang curry, basil fried rice, and pad thai. The crab rangoon is crispy without being greasy and the creamy filling has just the right amount of richness. What made the difference for me is ordering the dishes spicy. I usually order a "level 3" and it's just the right amount of kick for each dish. I still think the Tom Yum soup is too sweet for my taste and I'm still not a fan of their Pad See Eiw or Pad Kee Mao. However, they have outstanding Panang curry. And their basil fried rice is very flavorful. read more

They did a lousy job of packing our food. When i was trying to take it home from my car, the plastic bag broke and everything fell on the ground. They were too cheap to use a better bag. Even the employees at Target/Jewel know how to double bag! Anyway, i called and let them know what happened. The lady on the phone tried to give me a measly %15 discount. I told her we had to go out and buy food again because they were closed so she should give us credit for at least the entree items. She said she will talk to the manager. read more

I ordered my food over an hour ago! Got an e mail stating my ordered is being processed, money taken out my bank! Even got a an e mail to send my review for my food!!!! I call them 2 minutes ago and they didn't even make my food! Are you freakin kidding me!! HORRIBLE NEVER EVER ORDERING FROM THEM AGAIN! If you order your food from them you need to CALL them and verify 3 times they are making it or you will end up HUNGRY just like me!!! read more

This place is absolutely amazing! I heard good things so I had to check it out and it's all true. Im so picky with my food too, I ordered Pad Thai with tofu. One thing though..wish it was a tiny bit bigger menu even just a couple things because I love Thai food but I am picky so it's harder to find something, but thats just me. How They Got 5 Stars: a) when i first walked in the guy/manager/owner was the friendliest person I've had the pleasure of picking up food from and talking to while waiting for my food for all of 60seconds. He asked me how I heard of them, hes glad I came in etc. With a giant SMILE on his face, now where do you ever see genuinely nice people now a days? NO WHERE b) Food was great c) They deliver d) the cocaine selling BBQ joint is gone now read more

I absolutely love this place! If your looking to add a little flavor to your dinner, this is the place to go. The service is friendly and the orders are usually on time. Their curries and pad Thai are delicious. This is a must stop spot for anyone craving Thai. read more

Northbrook was in dire need of some damn good Thai food and Simply Thai delivers! Not only is the staff friendly, service is quick. Consistantly good like others have noted. This place also solidified my love of Panang Tofu (panang is the same as red curry, the only difference is the addition of kafir leaves). I am a curry lover to the umpteenth degree. For veggies like myself (or not even veggies), I highly recommend this dish. Order it with brown rice and it's a real treat. I also recently discovered the best appetizer (besides the fresh spring rolls)-- SILKY PRAWNS. They are friggin amazing. Now, I am one of those people who definitely snacks on uncooked ramen noodles...this dish is a delight. They wrap prawns in egg noodles (similar to ramen) to give it a delectable crunch. It comes with a nice, sweet and tangy dipping sauce to make your taste buds dance in delight. The tempura and pad thai is also pretty fly. The only thing I was ever disappointed with was the yellow curry rice. It was seriously lacking pizzzang. I highly recommend this place. I recently moved to the SF bay area (where there is no shortage of thai places) and upon visiting home for the holidays, I still couldn't stay away from simply thai. They even beat a lot of the places out here! read more

The food is excellent. I had a run-in with the manager that was very upsetting. It was the first time I had ordered through their website and I was confused when to pick up my food. I ended up waiting over an hour before calling. Initially, the manager was very defensive and we had an unpleasant exchange. I want to give him credit for calling me back at 10:00 pm that night and apologizing. He also refunded my credit card for the food. I give him credit for making things right. I will continue ordering food from Simply Thai. read more

Never in my life have I experienced worse customer service or been more disrespected by any establishment taking my money. Not only did the cashier have the worst attitude but the manager came in telling me he doesn't believe me that she yelled at me and that I look mean... This is not the wiener circle and I expect to have a normal exchange when picking up my food, NOT to be INSULTED! I would not return here even if the food was free and I would never recommend anyone get their food here. read more

I order delivery from Simply Thai, probably once a week. They are so fast! The food is so good too. Northbrook doesn't have much going on, but Simpy Thai is a great restaurant in Northbrook. The people that work there are very friendly and so are their delivery guys! They deliver very fast too, I always get my food within 15-25 minutes whether we order a small order or a huge one. I recommend trying their Drunken Noodle dish and my fave pad see-ew (I'm not sure if that is how you spell it) but it's all delicious. read more

Quick service and decent food. They have a good lunchtime deal. The only seating they have is a small waiting area so it's pretty much only a takeout place. read more

i went for lunch today and management behaved was very rude. When we got the cups for drinking and when asked the management whether it was used cups, management confirmed that it is used cup and we re-wash it and give it back to customers. when we saw small particles in drinking water and asked question after seeing particles in drinking water they where arguing and behaving very badly. advice please keep a watch on the place. read more

Gross. That about sums it up. We ordered for 8 people. So we saw a variety of dishes. Any tofu dishes were totally gross. Basically: they DO NOT know how to cook tofu at all. One entree had a fruit fly still breathing inside the container. While they did come back and replace it, they did not offer a refund on the entree at all. Otherwise, any dishes without tofu or a fruit fly were mediocre at best. Definitely not going back. read more

I'll be honest that I haven't had a ton of dishes from this restaurant, only had a couple. That being said, their panang curry is the best I've had anywhere. I've tried it at other places and it doesn't compare. Portion sizes aren't huge, like most Thai restaurants, but the food I have had is good. read more

Such amazing service and the spring rolls are amazing. One of the most authentic family run Thai spots I've been to and I live by argyle (aka Vietnamese village). Check this place out for amazing food. read more

Ordered Pad Thai, whose online description reads "stir fried rice noodle with bean sprout" also paid $3.50 for extra veggies, with note that I wanted "mostly bean sprouts." Received order with no bean sprouts, much less extra bean sprouts. The selection I made was tofu and barely any of that either. Hardly a teaspoon of green onion but plenty of mushy, chopped rice noodles covered with tasteless red sauce. I called to find out what was up and the owner informed me "we don't use bean sprouts anymore" in an angry loud voice "what do you want me to do about it!!!" I suggested he change the description. Then he shouted at me that he was busy and abruptly ended the call. It seems to me that a business that calls themselves "Simply 'the best' Thai" should not have the worst pad Thai I have ever tasted. And, the owner definitely needs to work on his customer service skills. Needless to say we will not be ordering from there again... read more

This is a cute little take out place. It's so yummy. Very quick.

Recommended Pad Thai Thai curry Con Quality control issue Generally i had good experience, but often times I got overcooked noodle and rice that had texture like oatmeal. read more

Great food. A little disappointed that the 15% off wasn't extended to take out. But, the food was great. I had shrimp in my Tom Yom soup and they were tender and delicious not the pieces of rubber you often get with over cooked shrimp. I'll definitely be ordering again. read more

I really wanted to like this place, though after several visits they have always dropped the ball in one way or another. Food quality varies from order to order, and since it's take out only, you don't find out that there is a problem until you get home. Have ordered vegetarian dishes for my son, with extra veggies, and get home only to find there are hardly any veggies in the dish. Calling back to speak with them is next to useless. They have your money, you have the food, and they don't seem to care. Sorry Alex, I tried to give you my business, you just took it for granted. read more

The best Thai food on the North Shore (take out/delivery) - fast service and generous portions too. We particularly like the Panang Sauce Curry, Tilapia Lover's Special and Pad Woon Sen stir fried noodles with tofu. Our favorite desserts are mango on sticky rice and taro custard. They offer fast delivery too. Simply Thai is simply delicious. read more

The Pad Thai here was AMAZING. I frequently dine at more urban, Chicago-based Thai restaurants such as Cozy Noodle andTaste of Asia, and didn't know if a suburban Thai place would compare - I was wrong! The Pad Thai here was the perfect balance of creamy peanuts and lime juice. The chicken was well-cooked. I also got the crab rangoon app...a little different that what I've had in the past at other places (this cream cheese seemed more "whipped" than others) but it was still very delicious! I will definitely go back here for lunch or dinner. read more

Carryout only. GREAT lunch menu (called "Exclusive Lunch") - high quality meats, expertly cooked, great flavorings, and reasonable prices. Drunken Noodle is also very good, albeit, a little greasy. If I was only rating the lunch menu and the Drunken Noodle dish, I'd give this place 5 stars. The owner is also very personable and accommodating. read more

I can't believe anyone really has a bad thing to say about this place. I''ve gotten take out from here several times and have always had a great experience. The food is absolutely delicious. It's well seasoned, not greasy, and always fresh. The vegetables are always crispy, and the meat I've had is always cooked just right - never too dry or under-cooked. Their Pad Thai is DELICIOUS! I've got no complaints about their portion size either - It's always MORE than enough to fill me up, and I usually can't even finish the entire dish in one sitting. The staff is always friendly, and there's never been a time where I haven't received a warm welcome or a smiling face. I usually order online, and it's always ready when I get there. Their quick service is key considering I usually work through my lunch and don't have a ton of time to wait around. I'm so glad my coworker recommended this place... Otherwise I might not have known it existed. I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a delicious meal! read more

I have only ever ordered for delivery from here, but I have never been disappointed. The Chicken Pad Thai is crisp and bright - the flavors are just fantastic. The egg rolls are some of the best I have ever had. Even though the website cautions that delivery can take up to an hour during peak hours, I have never had to wait more than 20 min from order to deliver. This is now my go to place when I need a quick lunch delivery. read more
