Butter Chicken (Top left) and Saag Paneer
    Joe H.

This restaurant has been here for a few years now but I just got around to trying it with my daughter. The venue is very functional and simple. No real decorations other than TV screens for menu items, a self serve station with water dispenser/napkins/utensils, and tables and chairs. There is another TV that plays what appears to be Indian music videos on YouTube. The place didn't look dirty or anything. The biggest problem for me here was service. I just cannot support restaurants that ask for tips when they do not provide service. Everything here is Self-Serve. They don't even take the food to your table. They call your name and you have to go get it. When you're done, you have to bus your own table. You have to go get the water, utensils, and napkins. Next time I go here, I will not be tipping. I hope they stop asking for tip or they actually start providing services that deserve a tip. The food was good though. Butter chicken...is just butter chicken (I had to order it because this is what my daughter always orders at Indian restaurants). Saag Paneer was excellent. Very creamy and balanced. The price was good as well ($14) and it comes with a big side of rice.

Chicken Curry (16 Oz) - Andhra Style Rice

I ordered 2 vegetarian thalis today and specifically mentioned in the notes that it must be vegetarian. But when the order arrived, one of the curries was chicken. My husband and I are both strictly vegetarian, and we almost ended up eating it. The worst part was the response when I called the restaurant. The first time, a staff member hung up on me. The second time, a lady answered, but there was no remorse or accountability, just a dismissive "sorry, we can't do anything." This is completely unacceptable. If the owner is reading this, your staff and kitchen team really need to improve their service and quality checks. This isn't the first time; it has happened with my husband before too, which makes me believe it's a recurring issue. Mixing up vegetarian with non-vegetarian food is not a small mistake it's careless and shows zero respect for your customers' dietary preferences. Very disappointing experience.

Ordered Chana Chaat which was literally just canned channas with a lot of onion and some tomato, I could've made it tastier at home. Chilli Paneer was super oily...literally a puddle of oil at the bottom. Don't be fooled with the low prices! They compensate with smaller portions sizes and low quality food. Also, if you have any mistakes in the order they won't entertain you by replacing anything like any other decent restaurant would. Saw it happen again with another person ordering right there. Their paneer roll was only redeeming item I had. Also waited 30 minutes for small appetizers while the store was empty.

Yummy, hot, fresh Indian food is now in Factoria! Finally Factoria has Indian food and we made a visit tonight. The food was ready in about 15 minutes, piping hot. Spice level was perfect. I can't wait to go there for lunch in the future. Great take out spot!

Bajji mixture - 5/5 Mysore bonda - 1/5 Casual Indian eatery close to TMobile head quarters. We ordered two items. Loved the bajji mixture, it was rich with flavors but the mysore Bonda was a huge disappointment. It was very oily and undercooked in the Inside. Didn't end up eating the bonda at all. Overall since there are decent vegetarian options and thali looks interesting, we are going to head back and try them sometime

This is simply a solid spot for an Indian lunch. Simply Indian Restaurant is as the name indicates, a simple, Indian eatery in Factoria. I learned that at Simply Indian, they offer a two-protein entrée with dal, rice, a dessert and chapati, so I decided to give this place a try for lunch one day. I visited Simply Indian on a weekday for lunch and was surprised to find that this very small spot is takeout only, as they do not offer dine-in. There were seats and tables outside, but if you're planning to dine in then you'll have to elsewhere. I ordered the two-meat combination, which always comes with a chicken and mutton curry. Simply Indian was busy with takeout orders. My order took about 15 minutes to get, and it seemed that most everyone was getting a combination special, which is a good deal for it if you want a little bit of everything. Both of the meat curries were very tasty, and I liked that it had some good spice to them. I was also pleasantly surprised that the rice was half white and half chicken biryani! I like biryani, so this was nice to have, to go with the curries. Plus, the biryani had a lot of chicken in the rice too. The dal and chapati were both solid additions. The only item I wasn't a fan of was the dessert, which was a sweet rice side. Overall, Simply Indian is a good spot if you're looking for an Indian lunch combination that has a lot of flavor and spice to it. Portion was large and was fairly priced at $12.99. It's nice to have this option for when I want some Indian takeout.

Here's an Indian place in Factoria that my husband tried but I never did until tonight. We ordered the Thali Box, one with meat and one vegetarian and samosas. This is a casual place where you order at the counter and then take a seat and wait. I ordered the meat Thali box with butter and mango chicken and the Gulab Jamun. It was nice that they let me choose my 2 meat curries and dessert. I didn't know if it was a "set" Thali box where the options were chosen by the restaurant. My husband ordered the Chana Masala Curry (with red pinto beans). The food was good and I was happy for the variety so I could try a little bit of everything. I didn't get many pieces of meat in my butter chicken. The mango chicken was flavorful but it tasted a bit like mango juice/concentrate mixed in with a creamy chicken sauce. It wasn't bad but I won't be ordering it again. It came with white rice, roti and biryani chicken. We received our samosas at the very end of our meal so the timing of serving dishes was out of order. I was so full by the time the samosa came along so I didn't eat it. Overall though, I enjoyed the food here. The portions were the right size (I couldn't finish the chicken biryani). What I liked most is that it didn't feel heavy or oily and sit in my stomach after eating it like some other Indian places I have dined at. I will definitely be back as I'd like to try some of the other dishes.

WOW! I'm so glad that Factoria now has an Indian restaurant! Not only is it close by to where I run my errands, but you can't beat the prices and portions! I used to go to Chili's in U-District for South Indian food. My favorite order was the Thali (plate/platter) because you get a variety of curries plus the dal/sambar plus bread and rice. They charge about $19 for theirs ($17 vegetarian). Simply Indian Restaurant only charges $12 for their ($11 vegetarian). The last time I went to Chili's they also forgot my Thali (but included the soup and other curries) and so I honestly haven't been back since. Simply's Thali combo comes with two curries, dal, rice, roti, and a dessert (which happened to be bread halwa today (so basically Indian bread pudding). It was more than enough for my lunch and I have leftovers waiting for me in the fridge. All the food was absolutely amazing; I liked that they included one creamy curry and one non-creamy curry. Service was excellent. The hostess (note that they only have one or two tables out front for seating, so it's really a takeout place) was very friendly and brought me my food within 10 or less minutes of ordering at around noon on a weekday. They had a fair amount of order-out bags ready to be picked up on the side. Overall, 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service

Does the chicken dum biryani contain dairy?

Chicken dum biryani may contain dairy such as yogurt and/or ghee, but it depends on the recipe used. I suggest calling the restaurant for confirmation. Thanks!

This was on a Friday night at almost 6pm and my friend and I came in to a nearly empty interior that filled up throughout our stay. Is it just dinnertime that time or were my friend and I bringing in the crowds? You'll enjoy a very clean and well-kept restaurant with clean tables and chairs, with lighting that's very little but lights up the whole place well. Menu has a lot of offerings (both regular and vegetarian) but since it's dinnertime I decided on a rice dish as usual. I got their beef short ribs rice dish, which has their usual marinated short ribs with a fried egg and veggies. I actually liked how they offered their rice in a separate bowl, and everything else on one plate... which means the meat almost covered my whole plate! By the way, my friend got their grilled pork chop rice dish, and the meat also almost completely covered his plate. Both our meats were marinated so well and held in so much flavor, and came off their bones easily. We both agreed the grilled beef short rib dish I ordered was the winner because of the bolder and more defined marinated taste of the meat. I've tried so many Vietnamese restaurants and almost exclusively get their beef short ribs rice on the first visits of them, but this is the first time I've seen meat portions this huge for a rice dish. I'm thinking of coming back here for another visit even if I have to deal with the tight parking plaza this place is close to.

Unfortunately, not many Vietnamese restaurants have this dish on their menu…read more Before i noticed Square Lotus offer this dish, i had to drive down to Renton if i wanted to eat my very favorite Vietnamese dish. Square Lotus offers an extensive choice of dishes. This visit we ordered the tropical fresh rolls and the pork on skewers, along with banh xeo The banh xeo was really nice and crispy. The only 2 drawbacks. for me was ... instead of pork belly, they use chicken, i think white meat cause the meat is very dry. The second is they don't offer a lot of fresh herbs with this dish. Just some cilantro and one small branch of Thai basil Next time i order this i will definitely ask for pork belly instead of chicken in my banh xeo. Definitely recommend you trying this restaurant. BTW, the offer an extensive amount of vegetarian dishes

The food is usually delicious, and the service is usually fine, but there always seems to be something that throws off our dining experience here. For example, we dined in last Sunday for dinner, and were promptly seated. We ordered the garlic naan to share, and our vegetarian friend ordered the Paneer Makhni. However, when the dish arrived, she took a bite and discovered that there were chicken pieces inside, and when we alerted the server, we didn't even receive an apology. They took away her plate, which had some rice and garlic naan, and gave her a new plate with a new order of the Paneer Makhni, and did not replace the rice and garlic naan that was lost due to their mistake. I feel that giving a vegetarian or vegan person a dish with meat is a huge mistake, and I was very disappointed by the lack of an apology and the lack of an effort to make things right. On the happy side, the garlic naan was tasty, and I personally ordered a chicken kabob dish that was covered in sauce, which was phenomenal. Another example is that for 3 or 4 visits, we interacted with the same server. He always greeted us with "ni hao" even though we are not Chinese. Even worse, on multiple occasions, after we paid for the food with credit card, he would make up some lie about how the card reader was broken for the tip portion, and he would ask for a cash tip that he pocketed. We've never had this issue with any other server, and I've even seen this guy tell other groups the same lie about the card reader not working for the tip portion, even though it worked fine for the main payment. In summary, although Kanishka seems to have some food quality control issues, the food is delicious, and the service can be a wide range from very poor to good.
