Wife and I had dinner on a Thursday evening around 5:30 so it wasn't crowded - maybe four tables full. We heard great things about this Indian restaurant and felt compelled to give it a go. We started with the Amara Tacos Cauliflower for an appetizer (as recommended by another yelper here). It was truly tasty and my wife's favorite flavor bomb out of everything. We ordered tequila based drinks - Mango margarita and another with Tajin rimmed (cannot remember the name) that was a little too sweet. I may have ordered a second if it were less sweet. We ordered the Old Munk Drunk Chicken - a little heavy on the spices but delicious and Curried Lamb Confit which was just so flavorful and good. The side garlic naan was the perfect compliment to dip into the confit sauce. Basmati rice came with the meal. Overall, the dining experience was great - attractive dining room (they also have a smart looking bar area) with upbeat background music, perfect portions per price point, attractive plating and friendly service. I would give it a 4.5 as there is some room for improvement, but this is probably Maple Valley's best restaurant right now. read more

Pretty good Indian food! When we arrived the place was packed with people for dinner on a weekday night. We ordered the Jhol Momo Curry and the Lamb Rogan Josh. Both were supposed to come with coconut milk rice but it did not arrive with it. We did get our garlic naan on the side though. Our dishes were not watery, and filled with spice. The naan was soft and filled with garlic. Service was attentive and tended to us when needed. The place was beautifully decorated and gave a comfort style of dining. Not too fancy and not run down. I've been too afraid to try Indian food because of the spice and flavor profiles - but my friend talked me into to trying this place and OH MY GOODNESS!! On Wednesdays they have a special 'date night' menu that afforded us the opportunity to try several different dishes including appetizers and dessert for a reasonable price. We discussed some options w/the server (she was soooooo helpful) and we had some of the MOST delicious food I've ever had! I'm now a convert and can't wait to go back. Like actually the best Indian food I've ever eaten (all Indian food places are good but you know what I mean) Everyone is always super super nice and we never have to wait too long! We had an excellent date night here. On Wednesdays they have a Date Night Special for $60 with 3 courses with naan and coconut rice. We ordered the appetizer tacos and those ended up being our favorite food of the night. Rich buttery chicken, crunchy slaw and a light white tzatziki type sauce on a soft tortilla. You get 3 with your appetizer and I could have eaten all 3 by myself! I ordered the tikka masala because it's only available on the date night menu and my husband paid the $10 extra for a lamb dish. Both were stupendous. Rich, creamy and full of Indian spices. A cozy warm meal on a cold day. We even had leftovers the next day! The rice and naan were also delicious, we didn't leave a grain behind! The service couldn't get any better than what we had. Ridiculously friendly with a good family feel. This place is amazing! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by their very kind staff. I was surprised by the amazing decor, which is very modern and clean. Although this place has been here, it does not have a lit up sign, which can make it hard to find when it is dark out. The food was absolutely delicious! For starters we ordered the kara mura chicken. It came out hot and crispy! The mint and tamarind dipping sauces it came with were so full of flavor. Their garlic naan was so fluffy. The main dishes were all terrific. We ordered chicken tikka masala, old monk drunk chicken, and butter chicken. Each dish was crafted with special spices and so delicious. So savory and big portions! They came with coconut rice. For dessert we had gulab jamoon, which was a perfect sweet ending to this meal. The owner, Ramya is such a friendly person. She made sure everything was great! Masala Dosa: chutneys and masala was cold inside a leathery dosa/crepe. Karu Mura chicken: Chicken pakora, tasty and crunchy Fish Moilee: deconstructed moilee, didnt come close in close to the real deal. The fish had a light sweetness to it too. Beef rolls: Typical snack made at home with a fancy twist Tenderloin Coconut Payasam: overpowered by rose flavors, the tender coconut bits appear namesake. Good quantity but doesn't live up to the name. While the food was fresh, lack of authentic flavors is definitely a disappointment. The word needs to get out about this hidden Diamond. This place is class meets Indian fusion comfort food. You can taste the care and creativity that goes into every dish. The ambience is romantic and swank (minus the commercials with the music playing). Great date night place. In fact we loved it so much last week we had to return this week to try new things. The staff is lovely and you can feel the care and pride they put in the food and service. If you have low tolerance to spice ask them ahead of time to put chili oil on the side or get a side of raita to cool your palette but they will also offer to make it right in the kitchen. So far we have loved the cauliflower tacos & caulifry with amazing house made chutneys. The drunk monk chicken was a stew of tender flavorful delights. The curry lamb chops confit is worth getting every time we come. The chicken tika masala was really good but comes spicy at no stars so ask ahead of time to dilute the base to less spicy. Chicken dumpling momo was like the best bistro made tomato soup with a kick and dumplings. Indian comfort food. The mango lassi was pleasant as you can taste it came from fresh mango not a purée. This restaurant is great on all accounts - amazing food, great ambiance, wonderful service! We often order take out from here as well and the food holds up well taking it home. We love their Naan and so many of the dishes with sauces that it is hard to list them all. We don't have many places in MV area that have a nice sit down atmosphere and this makes this place even more special. Lots of fresh takes, food selections that I haven't seen in other places. We started with garlic and plain naan, raita, a green chutney and an amazing sauce made from dates and cranberries. Delicious! Our entrees were butter chicken, deconstructed chicken masala, and Jhol Momo curry (a great version of chicken dumplings. All were inspired. What in the world?! OUTSTANDING! The staff were all gracious hosts, not just servers. The ambiance is lovely, between CLOTH napkins, table lamps, and upholstered chairs, we felt pampered. The menu options went beyond my knowledge of choices at Indian restaurants I've been to, which have been around 10. Each menu item has clear allergens indicator icons. We found one chicken dish that was dairy free, but ghee *may* be the reason for the dairy icon. We need to pursue that on our next visit. One more comment about the menu, it was two-sided & manageable, but that that may seem limited for some. The NA cocktails / drinks were also interesting & I'm looking forward to trying them all! Can you believe there is exotic fusion gourmet Indian food in a distant suburban strip mall, neighboring Tobacco Depot, Goodwill, a teriyaki joint and so on? Yes, there is and this spot is a must-visit. I do not know the story of Roaring India, but the menu reminds me of a restaurant from a trendy luxury Mumbai hotel. Maybe that's where inspiration comes from. The Napoli Jhol Momo curry is a trip - almost like a potsticker curry (it's more elegant than that). Kashmir Aloo presentation a work of art. The Dosa look scrumptious and apparently very popular. Definitely best to dine-in as the presentation of dishes is lost on take away (especially Dosa). Service very attentive on a busy Fri night. Hey Maple Valley, there is a great new restaurant in our neighborhood that you should go check out. The greatest Indian food I have ever had hands down. My wife and I had been reading the reviews and planned a visit for today, January 19th, 2025, to try it out. The hosts seated us immediately with a great smile as they welcomed us in. The server brought us a carafe of water and offered lime, lemon, and mint to add to it. I added mint and lemon which he placed in my glass. My wife and I looked at the menu and the server came back and took our drink order. They are mocktail only for now as they are waiting on a liquor license. No big deal as it was lunch time and I'm on a drinking cleanse anyway. The mocktail I got was called a "Spice Bazaar." Totally awesome drink and each one I ordered, which was 3 total over lunch, were well decorated and had a split serrano pepper on the edge of the spiced glass. Beautiful green color to it as well. MMMM DELICIOUS!! My wife ended up ordering the Butter Chicken - Deconstructed and I got Pondi Ghee Shrimp, and garlic naan. The dishes come with rice. The dishes came out looking like art work. I could definitely tell why it seemed to take a bit for everything to come out to us because there was a ton of love put in to the cooking and presentation of the food. The taste was astounding. Best shrimp dish ever IMO. My wife let me try her dish and the chicken was juicy and the sauce had the perfect amount of spice for her liking. I asked that my dish be made as spicy as possible. If I was going to leave 4 stars for this review it would have been because it wasn't spice freak levels. Thinking on it though, too much spice would have ruined the dish soooo, 5 stars for my review. The restaurant is well put together with occasional artwork on the walls and everything is spotless and clean. I only got pictures of the food for now but will update with pictures of the restaurant at a later time. Total price after tip came to $93.77. The portions are perfect and very filling. The garlic naan is super moist and fluffy and delicious. This place is off to a great start. Keep it up!! You're going to do fine here in Maple Valley. I wouldn't worry too much about the one or two mediocre reviews. I seem to recognize one of them as either owner or worker at a competing restaurant in Kent. This is a lovely new Indian restaurant to come on the scene. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The decor is very tasteful and the seating is quite comfortable. I appreciated the room temperature water in a carafe at the table and the cloth napkins. I ordered the gunpowder dosa and a glass of merlot. The service was prompt and the dosa was simply delicious. All the flavors of the sambar and the chutneys were spot on. I heard that this was an offshoot of Aahar in Snoqualmie Ridge, which I have been eating at for years.
