This place is so amazing I've never had such an amazing experience anywhere else like I did here!! It's all around a 5/5!!! From the service, the food, and the environment!!! We tried the butter chicken, garlic naan, chicken biryani, and the mango chicken!! It was all so amazing so excited to come back!!

Mango Lassi. Great as a refresher, even as a dessert!

There is definitely some great Indian culinary establishments in Renton. But sometimes you just want something quick, casual, and tasty. That place is Rice and Curry. Owned by Gurminder Kaur and family, Rice and Curry is located in the heart of Downtown Renton, across the street from the Piazza. As small as it, the place is surprisingly busy. Traffic is particularly high on weekends where many from fans of Indian culinary delights come to converge for a nice meal. Most of the favorites are here, butter chicken, tikka masala, pakoras - fresh na'an. It's there. As for me, I started with an appetizer of fresh samosa and chutney. I also ordered the traditional chicken curry with garlic na'an. My friend ordered the buttered chicken with a side of basmati rice. Let's not forget some tasty mango lassi to make the meal complete. Come on down to Rice and Curry, as you are. The food will be hot fresh and tasty, and have that Indian flair that will have coming back for another serving! #riceandcurry #riceandcurryrenton #supportrentoneats

Hidden Gem with a Soulful Twist on Biryani This little Indian restaurant is a delightful surprise. The menu is refreshingly simple--just a handful of dishes, each prepared with care. No frills, no overwhelming choices. But what they do serve, they do exceptionally well. The biryani here is unlike any I've had before. It's not the typical restaurant-style fare drenched in oil or overloaded with masala. Instead, it's subtly spiced, almost home-cooked in feel, with layers of flavor that unfold gently. The rice is fragrant, the meat tender, and there's a hint of something unexpected--maybe a touch of mint or a roasted spice--that makes it stand out. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause between bites just to savor. The staff (possibly the owners themselves) are warm and welcoming, treating you more like a guest than a customer. You get the sense that this place isn't just about food--it's about sharing a piece of their heritage, their kitchen, their story. If you're looking for a quiet spot with heartfelt cooking and a biryani that breaks the mold, this little restaurant is worth seeking out. Just don't expect a laminated menu or fancy plating--this is food with soul, served with sincerity. Few dishes we tried were salty lassi, mango lassi , seekh kebab and biryani and raita. We loved everything. We went here on a Wednesday afternoon so there were no other customers than us. Recommend to give it a try.

Located in downtown Renton, Rice N Curry's was the spot we decided to try as we craved some delicious Indian bites. The restaurant itself was easy to find but it's located in a small plaza with really limited parking so beware but there's plenty of street parking available walking distance nearby. Getting inside, you'll notice the modernly designed aesthetics which add a nice charm to the overall dining experience. However, there were some elements that looked tacky such as the basic tile floors you'd find in any convenient store or the chairs and wobbly tables which made it feel like more of a take out spot if anything. The service was great though and they were very attentive which I loved. Now, I'll be completely honest here regarding the food. For the prices and what's offered, I didn't think Rice N Curry's hit the spot unfortunately. Each dish was nearing $20 and lacked portions and the basmati rice was extra. The Veggie Kabobs as appetizers were tiny and seemed like basic hash-browns with masala and seasonings on top of them. The Daal Makhani seemed to be on the bland side. To add to the negatives, the Garlic Naan bread seemed like store bought and from frozen packages. However, I will say the Makhani Paneer with the tomato curry was decent in flavor. All in all, I think with some small improvements, these guys have the potential to be awesome. It is a family run business and you've gotta appreciate that aspect!

    Chicken Broast with Mango Sauce

The moment I stepped into Rice and Curry, I was charmed by its unique vibe. For a small space, it feels surprisingly gorgeous and cute--like an art gallery brought to life. A few well-spaced tables, golden utensils, and large windows that flood the room with natural light make the place warm and inviting. It's a rare woman-run Indian restaurant, and the owner is a gem--accommodating, passionate, and eager to share her story. Many of the recipes are inspired by her mother, infusing the food with a personal touch. Sliders The sliders were a visual and culinary delight, offering three distinct options: * Mango-Infused Grilled Chicken: A burst of flavor with a sweet kick from mango, perfectly balanced. * Beet Mayo-Infused Grilled Chicken: Rich and buttery with a subtle sweetness. * Lamb Kebab: Packed with spices and tender goodness. The grilled chicken sliders stole the show with its vibrant flavors and creative twist. Murgh Masala This unique dish is a true standout. The curry is luxuriously creamy, rich, and aromatic, with just the right balance of spices. The chicken chunks are melt-in-your-mouth tender. It pairs beautifully with naan and is an absolute must-try. Broast Chicken An unexpected find at an Indian restaurant, Crispy, thinly coated chicken legs and thighs are shallow-fried to perfection. Bone-in halal chicken fries like these are rare in Seattle, making this a treat. While I'd love a bit more seasoning on the chicken itself, the accompanying spicy and sweet sauces made it indulgently delicious. Butter Chicken I'm tough on butter chicken-- skipping it because most places take it for granted and serve a version that doesn't qualify as butter chicken. Rice n Curry nailed it, just how i prefer it. The sauce is rich, buttery, and perfectly spiced, with just the right hint of sweetness and tomato flavor. The chicken chunks were tender and flavorful, making this a delightful surprise. Biryani Biryani sparks debate even among Indians because of its many regional variations. This place follows a particular North Indian style: lightly spiced, well cooked long-grain rice and a good portion of chicken. I prefer a spicier kick of aromatic biryani and this version isn't particularly my favorite, it may appeal to whom enjoy a mild biryani. Chicken Sheekh Kabab I also tried their Chicken Sheekh Kabab, it was decent, nothing extra-ordinary. Naan was delicious. Chutney's were very innovative Location & Parking Nestled in downtown Renton, Rice and Curry offers some dedicated parking, with plenty of street parking available nearby. Final Thoughts Rice and Curry combines heartfelt cooking, elegant presentation, and a cozy atmosphere. The broast chicken, sliders, and murgh masala were standouts, and I can't wait to return.

Really really good. When we drove up, I immediately thought how beautiful it looks. The inside is very spacious and the gold, black and white color palette is very fresh and nice. The staff were friendly, patient, and did not hover. I loved the menu options. The portions were generous and the flavor spot on. We had samosa, mango lassi, chicken biriyani, garlic naan and palek paneer. I forgot to grab photos once the mains courses arrived. All 10/10

One of my favorite places for Indian food in Renton thanks to my friend for telling me about them. I almost always get Chicken Biryani it's packed with flavor and spice. Generous portion. Can't believe I hadn't written a review. Yesterday I brought my friend here, he loves Indian food. I let him select what to order since it was his first time he likes to order the same items to measure the base of a restaurant so butter chicken and Karahi Paneer were his choices we added naan and rice. Though I think he meant to order Palak Paneer but pointed to the wrong dish. He also added a mango lassi stuck with water. Delicious as always and service is always great the owners are so gracious . Weither I'm gettingI Indian food to go or dining in this is the place I cone to in downtown Renton. It's clean, well lit and shares a small parking lot with Salty Blue.

You have to place the order at the counter and the food will be served to the table. Also ordered a Mango Lassi as well. Service was delightful - very friendly staffs. The wait time was roughly 5-10 minutes. They served the Thali first. It had rice, naan, salad, kheer, couple of chicken curries and the tandoori chicken. The portion was really good. The food was delicious. Enjoyed the tandoori chicken - done to perfection. The wrap and the biryani came after that. Wrap is very impressive for it's portions. Lots of paneer tikka cubes, with rice, lettuce and sauces wrapped in a freshly made naan. Loved the wrap. Biryani is not the best one I had, but it was flavorful. It was served with Raita on the side; they gave more raita when we asked for. It was a very pleasant experience for us at Spice King. Really enjoyed the food and the warmth of the hospitality. It looked like more people come there for Uber / doordash orders - seen so many people picking up while we were there. Must be a popular place on those apps. No wonder why the hype! Food is great!

The service here was terrific for us. They even educated us on some of the differences between Pakistani and Indian cuisine. It was a carry-out only for us. The food was hit or miss with me. The Biryani was alright but nothing I would ever order. What I sampled was way too spicy for me and just not my flavour. The kabob were some of the best I've tasted in this city, especially the lamb. Top notch. The Lamb Nihari was very tender, as was the Keema (with peas). The star of the show today was the Haleem. Call it a Pakistani porridge consisting of slow cooked spiced mutton, lentils and barley. A true delicacy! The place is quite pricey, even for the Seattle area. The portions are larger. One member of the group is vegetarian, hence a reason why we ended up going to a vegetarian restaurant for our first meal during our trip. Blossom Vegetarian is located on the southwest corner of 3rd and Burnett. We came in three cars, and the lot immediately in front of the restaurant can only hold about a dozen cars. The adjacent lot has more spots, but all three of us were able to find spots easily when we arrived. That's likely because we had arrived a few minutes prior to opening, so the door was locked when I tried to open it. Right at 11 AM, an employee came out with a signicade to place in front of the front door. Shortly afterwards, we entered and sat at a table for 8, which I found kind of odd because they had tables of 4 and 8, but not 6. Our table had a sign advertising a limited time special, which was Hanoi Beef Fried Rice at the time*. However, we were interested in the lunch specials, which were available weekdays from 11 AM to 2 PM. Knowing that our schedule wouldn't have allowed for a lunch special any other time during our trip, we went for lunch specials, which mainly consists of rice combos. Rice combos at Blossom Cafe come with rice, either jasmine or brown, the latter of which would incur a $1 upcharge. The combo also includes an option for a juice or coffee, and if you choose either, you get $1 off. With plenty of rice combos to choose from, two of them chose the same lunch combo while the rest of us went with different lunch combos, but shared family-style with one another. I chose the Blossom Rice Combo, which consists of shredded "pork", tofu pie, "beef" skewer, and vegetables alongside a lime vinaigrette dressing. I'm not too certain of the other combos, but I do know that the Cashew Chicken was another combo, and that's because one of my groupmates heard it was their most popular dish. Since I prefer brown rice over white (jasmine) rice, I opted for the $1 upcharge for the brown rice. Between the coffee and the juice, I went with a coffee since I was needing some after a long morning of traveling. They have four choices of Vietnamese Coffee: Cheese Cafe, Cafe Latte, Dalgona Cafe, and Cafe Sua. I went with the Cafe Latte, which consists of both condensed and whole milk. The coffee drinks can come either hot or iced. For whatever reason, everybody else ordered the iced drinks, but I went with hot knowing I'd have to brave the pretty chilly weather outside. It took about 13 minutes for the kitchen to prepare our orders, and then we feasted! The coffee was ready about a minute before the main dishes arrived. Everything tasted good, but I wouldn't say great, though that's probably because I'm not vegetarian. However, rest assured that all their meats aren't real meat, and this is indicated by the use of quotation marks encompassing the meat names. You can definitely tell these meats are truly vegetarian, though it took a few bites for me to discern the vegetarianism of the "beef" skewer. The brown rice tasted kind of odd. I don't quite know how to describe it, but it was way different than the brown rice I'm used to e.g. Flame Broiler. The rice tasted pretty meh by itself, but exhibited a much more elevated flavor profile after adding the lime vinaigrette, which I'm thinking was actually a fish sauce. But that Cafe Latte was smoooooooooooth. Just what I needed after not getting enough z's the previous evening. Since I ordered mine hot, my coffee came in a mug while the others who ordered iced coffee got theirs in a wine glass. These coffees supplemented the glasses of water we were given when we placed our orders. Service, unfortunately, was quite slow, so exercise patience! We were the first customers to eat there, and there were a few others who came in after we did. We stayed there for over an hour even though I think we could have gotten in and out in much less time. They didn't really check on us even though there were very few other customers inside as well; I guess we were supposed to proactively go up to the counter to let them know when we were ready to order as well as pay. 2026 calendars were available for purchase at a cost of $20, cash only. I don't know how many people would constitute a "large" party, but we were considered one, which resulted in an 18% gratuity fee that was already added to our individual bills. One of our groupmates, who was fluent in Vietnamese, needed to let the server know prior to paying. So overall, Blossom Vegetarian is a decent spot for vegetarians; I just wouldn't recommend for a quick lunch break since service is nowhere near as quick. * My visit was back in November. I waited until January to post this review as I took a brief hiatus from posting reviews upon traveling to the Pacific Northwest.
