The flavors are thoughtful, the food is clearly made with care, and I REALLY want this to be my go-to spot. That said, a few small but persistent things have nudged me from happy regular to mildly, consistently infuriated customer: 1 The hours. I know, I know. They are what they are. But when a craving hits at 2:30pm and ordering doesn't open until exactly 5:00pm, it's a long emotional journey. Add in not being able to place an order even a few minutes early, and it's just... a lot for a hungry person with commitment issues. 2 Spice level roulette. This is my biggest hurdle. I love flavor. I just don't love heat. I always order "0 spice" and very politely ask for no spice. Truly, sincerely, humbly no spice. I've even gone so far as to say "white woman spicy" to be crystal clear. Unfortunately, that hasn't been consistent. We've tried branching out from butter chicken, and most dishes end up being a few bites before we tap out. This last visit, even the butter chicken came out spicier than expected, which makes the menu feel more limited than it should be. A specific example. Let's talk about the cilantro chicken. Based on the description, especially "tomato gravy," I genuinely expected something more curry-forward and saucy, maybe herbaceous and comforting. Instead, it packed more heat than anticipated, and even with a mango lassi, I couldn't get past a few bites. When you can really only eat three items, it starts to feel limiting. My reliable go-tos are: * Butter chicken with rice * Garlic naan (butter naan is also great) * Mango lassi As an adventurous eater, I want to explore the menu more, but the spice inconsistency makes that tough. 4 A small, hopeful suggestion. Since the butter chicken is clearly a crowd favorite, a family-size option would be amazing. Ordering multiple single containers works, but carrying 3-4 at once feels like a test of grip strength and faith. A genuine bright spot. I do love that they always walk me out to my car. It's such a small thing, but it really stands out and is a big bonus in my book. Overall, this is still a good place with a lot going for it. These aren't deal-breakers so much as paper cuts that add up over time. Honestly the best Indian food I've had in WA so far!! We ordered takeout on a Wednesday evening and the order was prepared super quick. The saag paneer was honestly the best I've ever had anywhere. The chicken tikka masala was really good but not spicy at all (but that's my fault for ordering mild, I got scared from all the reviews saying their food was too spicy). A place that you may want to have a standing Friday night order. They will know your name. Perfection takes time. Order and be prepared to wait. Your tastebuds will thank you. I ordered a cool refreshing mango lassi, butter chicken masala and a butter naan. It came with basmati rice. More than enough for one, sitting in front of Bollywood Wives on Netflix and chilling. I walked in and ordered, was told 40 minutes wait. By the time I ran some errands and got back the lovely "aunty" that took my order, also remembered my name. She was so kind to hailed me out of the line and placed my treasured package in my hand. Way in front of a line of undecided people, waiting to order. All the tables in this quint establishment were filled. This is what Maple Valley was missing. The void has been filled with an air of curry, chutney and butter. Got my treasure home and proceeded to dish it out, The chicken was cooked in a thick buttery masala gravy or sauce whatever you want you want to call it. The spice level was medium. I could have had a little hotter. Will stress that next time. The chicken pieces were sliced to perfection. I could have eaten the gravy with a spoon. So thick and clung to the nice fluffy, pearl white strands of long grain rice. Hail to Basmati!! The naan was package well. It was kept hot and stayed crispy. Clever on their part. The red checkered paper to soak up the oil is really appreciated. I would have liked it a tad bit bigger. But that's just me. This must be the going size. Less than 2 bucks, I'm not one to complain. My succulent mango lassi. I almost thought I was biting into a mango. It was sweet without being too sweet. Thick and I slurped it so quickly I almost forgot I drank it. I wouldn't have minded a larger cup. Overall- I can see ordering ahead and trying different dishes. Aunty will be more than helpful to assist in ordering your tastebuds desire. This was my third time visiting Masala Melody. The first time was during their first week open - things were chaotic, I had to wait over an hour for my food, but it was delicious. I can excuse them needing time to get things in order. The second time was fine as well, no complaints. This time, I was very disappointed. Ordered one chicken biryani and a garlic naan through Door Dash pick up. I ordered right as they opened at 5:30pm on a Tuesday. The app said the order was confirmed right away and it would take 19 mins. I arrived at the 20 min mark (5:50pm) and the guy at the register said they just got the order (even though I could see his order screen saying it has been 14 mins since they confirmed it). He asked me for 5 mins to get it done. I waited another 20 mins and was finally handed my food. I checked and they forgot my garlic naan so I had to go back. When I got home 15 mins later, I found the biryani and naan to be room temp. Very upset. I kept the food in an insulated bag. My first two visits the food was hot and piping even after a 15 min drive home. This time, I had to microwave all my food. Unacceptable! The naan was rock hard. Watch the video and turn up the volume. I hope this was a one time service fail and not a new pattern. read more

Food here is amazing! Also just because I was not sure when looking at the menu online you do not have to order rice on the side of your curry, which is an amazing plus! The workers here are really friendly and seem to care about their customers. The inside is nice as well and looks a lot better than the restaurant that used to be here. I have tried Masala Melody a couple times already and I think they are one of the best Indian restaurants anywhere around the region. I'm so thrilled to finally have such amazing food nearby. The dishes are well spiced and fresh tasting. The ones I tried tended to be on spicy side, which I liked very much.
