Updated from 4 to 3 stars, sadly as the (yelp) duchess it must be done This place really is lovely, which honestly makes this review harder to write. The flavors are thoughtful, the food is clearly made with care, and I REALLY want this to be my go-to spot. That said, a few small but persistent things have nudged me from happy regular to mildly, consistently infuriated customer: 1 The hours. I know, I know. They are what they are. But when a craving hits at 2:30pm and ordering doesn't open until exactly 5:00pm, it's a long emotional journey. Add in not being able to place an order even a few minutes early, and it's just... a lot for a hungry person with commitment issues. 2 Spice level roulette. This is my biggest hurdle. I love flavor. I just don't love heat. I always order "0 spice" and very politely ask for no spice. Truly, sincerely, humbly no spice. I've even gone so far as to say "white woman spicy" to be crystal clear. Unfortunately, that hasn't been consistent. We've tried branching out from butter chicken, and most dishes end up being a few bites before we tap out. This last visit, even the butter chicken came out spicier than expected, which makes the menu feel more limited than it should be. A specific example. Let's talk about the cilantro chicken. Based on the description, especially "tomato gravy," I genuinely expected something more curry-forward and saucy, maybe herbaceous and comforting. Instead, it packed more heat than anticipated, and even with a mango lassi, I couldn't get past a few bites. When you can really only eat three items, it starts to feel limiting. My reliable go-tos are: * Butter chicken with rice * Garlic naan (butter naan is also great) * Mango lassi As an adventurous eater, I want to explore the menu more, but the spice inconsistency makes that tough. 4 A small, hopeful suggestion. Since the butter chicken is clearly a crowd favorite, a family-size option would be amazing. Ordering multiple single containers works, but carrying 3-4 at once feels like a test of grip strength and faith. A genuine bright spot. I do love that they always walk me out to my car. It's such a small thing, but it really stands out and is a big bonus in my book. Overall, this is still a good place with a lot going for it. These aren't deal-breakers so much as paper cuts that add up over time. I'm rooting for consistency here, because I'd love nothing more than to bump this back up to 4 stars and keep ordering without hesitation.

Honestly the best Indian food I've had in WA so far!! We ordered takeout on a Wednesday evening and the order was prepared super quick. The saag paneer was honestly the best I've ever had anywhere. The chicken tikka masala was really good but not spicy at all (but that's my fault for ordering mild, I got scared from all the reviews saying their food was too spicy). And the naan was so soft and doughy. Not too bad of prices for Indian food either! Safe to say this will be our new go-to to-go Indian food!!

    Fish Tava fry

This is what we received for $22 Tava fish fry. So less quantity and highly priced. Taste is just ok. Super hyped and expensive restaurant. Not recommended.

    Butter Chicken Masala

The buttered chicken curry with the naan bread is phenomenal. The sauce they make it in is so good. The service was great and fast. Highly recommend.

Finally an Indian restaurant in Maple Valley! The biriyani is good - tried a couple varieties and liked the bezwada one the best. , Chettinad chicken curry was too salty for our palette and the mango lassi was nice. Service is good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's more a take out place or a quick dine in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall love the ease of getting Indian food in the area.

Wow!!!! Amazing! Finally an India takeout spot in Maple Valley. It may not look special, but once you take a bite, you will be amazed by how much flavor is packed into their dishes. The bezwada chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken masala, and chicken chettinadu were all good. Their dishes are spicy, so if you don't like spicy, be careful. Even the mild dishes had some spice in them. My family will definitely be ordering takeout from here regularly.

Ordered: butter naan chicken tikka masala Bezwada chicken biryani Everything was delicious! The spicy was on spot, looks family owned, love it!! Timing on take out was spot on! Definitely coming back and ordering again.

He needs a different job. Not built for this. He seemed VERY VERY UNHAPPY. EDIT: I see some previous reviews talking about poor service. People can disagree on food quality, but poor service is universal. You need to fix this or go out of business. Put a smile on your face, be polite, act interested in the job and your customers. Or suffer the consequences of losing business due to poor service reviews. Just think how much more business you'd get IF you served your customers correctly. RECOMMEND: Aahaar. Always polite. Always seem happy. Don't eat an average or even great meal at India Belly with rude staff if you can drive a few miles to Aahaar and get greeted with smiles and politeness the whole meal.

We came in for lunch and got the Fried Fish, Mutton Varuthakari, Parotta, Iddiyappam, Dahi Sev Poori, two desserts, and a Chicken Biryani to take home. Everything was delicious -- the curry was excellent, with flavorful mutton and plenty of spice. The fish was especially delicious: crispy, spicy, and juicy, and probably the star of the meal. The Sev Poori was fun too, and the Parotta and Iddiyappam were quite good as well. The desserts were lovely. The Chakka Pradhaman was great, with the jackfruit flavor present but not overpowering, and the gulab jamun was nice as well. The biryani was also amazing. It's a very wholesome biryani and it hits a particular spot for us Malayalis (the cashews and the small grain rice are a part of that), and will keep us coming back many more times. Everything was top notch, and you could sense an attention to detail that separates Aahaar from many other restaurants. This was reflected in the warm, friendly staff and in the high degree of quality across all of the dishes. Overall, a lovely experience. We recommend Aahaar highly!
