Found this place unintentionally. Went into a convenience store and the food smelled so good we had to order. There are 2 tables if you'd like to eat there but we ordered to go. Workers were so nice and helped us pick out some food. The food was so good and flavorful. We received plenty of rice. Garlic naan was perfect! Great place to go if you aren't sure what you want for dinner. Menu is a good size. In and out in about 15min!

Tandoori Chicken

I gave Namaste a great review last year and each time I return I try something new along with our faves and I am still impressed. I accidentally ordered tonight using Door Dash. I actually like to pick up the order because the people are so nice there but DoorDash did great. The food was delivered within 45 minutes from time of order. It was hot and almost bubbly upon arrival . Namaste does not skimp on quality ingredients. I could cut the Beef Rogan with a fork - it was that tender. The chicken masala was so well spiced. Never forget the Naan!

Amritsari Fish Pakora

I ordered the fish appetizer for the second time it is soooo gooood one of my favorite spots

Makhana curry, shahi panner, vegetable pakora and garlic Nan

We opted for takeout as the restaurant is situated inside a gas station, though it does have seating available. Our order included Phool Makhana Curry (Fox Nuts Curry), Paneer Butter Masala, Veg Pakora, and Garlic Naan. The Phool Makhana Curry was a delightful twist from the typical vegetarian dishes like paneer or kofta, and it was absolutely delicious! As for the more familiar curries, they were quite good as well. The service was prompt, and our order was ready in 15 minutes.

Staying at Clearwater Casino, decided we wanted room service which isn't offered. So uber eats it is. Tried namaste for 1st time and glad we did. Amazing burst of flavors. Ordered lamb Tikka and shrimp curry with 2 orders of spring rolls. All 4 came to 45 before fees and tip which I thought was so affordable I was skeptical. WOW. Huge portions especially the meat. The lamb was plentiful and so very tender, and the shrimp ,6 jumbo prawns, and so much flavor. This will be our go to when in poulsbo. Can't wait to try something else.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Food was delicious, hot n ready. Two tables to be able to sit down which was nice. 10/10 recommend. At first I was skeptical because of the gas station location, but don't skip out on this. You'll smell the aroma from outside that you can't resist!

Garlic naan - just order it!

Just average. The lamb korma was soupy, not much flavor , very underwhelming. The saag had no cream. Ok food but overpriced

Service was impeccable and the food was some of the best Indian Food I've had in years. I had the Chicken Biryani (there was so much I had the rest later for dinner) and my husband had the Chicken Tikka Masala ... also quite a bit of food. We topped it off with the good ol' garlic naan that really is GOOD, and two mango lassi that were the real deal. The flavors were incredible, and I'm always a little scared to ask for "mild" but it was. My husband got "medium" so I could really tell the difference in the heat. They do pay attention. And yeah, so the floor was a little sticky by the bathroom, and we did wait for about 25 minutes for the food (totally worth it ... by the way). It's our new favorite place.

The chicken was fabulous. Subtle charring from the tandoori oven and it's smoke enhanced the flavor beautifully. The meat was cooked just right. The saag panner was great too. *Vegetarian Foodie Review*…read more We were craving some Indian food after trying other cuisines during our trip, so we found this place and give it a try! Ordered: 1) Shahi Dal (Vegan) - 5/5: We requested it mild, and it was the best dal we have ever had in Seattle, and the closest to what you get in India - simple and best. I never imagined we would find such yummy Indian food in Bainbridge Island. Must try! It came with rice. 2) Kadhai Paneer (medium spicy) - 4/5: Very flavorful too. It was already spicy for me, so if you can't handle much heat, stick to medium or go for the mild option. It came with rice too. 3) Mango Lassi - 5/5: Pretty good too. My 5 year old drank most of it and only let us have 2 sips/ 4) Garlic Naan - 4/5: I liked that it was thin and not too thick like you get at many places which is exactly the way I like it. I just wish it was more garlicky, there was very little garlic in it. 5) Onion Salad - 5/5: Comes with onions. jalapenos, and lemon. Good portion size, too. Usually onion salads are too tiny and not enough, but not here. We totally loved it! Thanks for making this such an enjoyable experience for us. We literally licked our plates clean; every bowl was empty. Service took a little longer than expected, but when the food is this good, who cares? Just something to keep in mind if you are in a rush. It's a really nice spot for a casual lunch. We left full and savored every dish. Definitely coming back next time we travel to this part of Seattle.

Prince was working front of house by himself literally running to get to everyone and making naan as well. Anyway our worries were for naught because we were thoroughly impressed by the food. We got the tandoori chicken which was juicy and tender, with a good char to it. The sauce to complement it was perfect too. The chili garlic naan was crisp and great for dipping into all the different dishes we got as well. Bhindi masala was bursting with flavor and we chose tofu as our protein which soaked up all that savoriness. Saag paneer was creamy and generous with the amount of paneer. We also got a small side of basmati rice but it was enough for 3 of us and cooked perfectly. The mango lassi was not too sweet (the highest of compliments!) They seem to be a family business so I feel extra great supporting them. The place was decorated nicely and the seating was comfortable. We thought the prices were fair for such delicious food and portion sizes. There was a bit of a wait to get the food but it was well worth the taste! I look forward to returning to try more of their menu.

Since we love Indian food we tried this little place in the gas station. Note to self and maybe you: Indian is a little hard to eat in the car but we ate some in the parking lot before leaving. We got Lamb Coconut Curry, Butter Chicken and Vegetable Curry. The servings were generous (enough to have for dinner when we got home with even more leftover for one of us to eat the last of the next day). All entrees come with rice (with whole cumin seeds-a nice touch) and naan as well as free fountain drinks. The curries were a mixed bag. The veggie curry badly needed salt. They may have forgotten to add it? I went back inside and got some. Glad we hadn't left yet. The naan was the same as I buy frozen as my local Indian store. Same triangular shape. It's fine but I would love it if they made their own. The butter chicken was quite sweet, but it was ok. The coconut lamb probably had the best flavor in the gravy of the three. The mango lassis were premade in a frige you reached in to get your own. The predominant flavor was sweetness, and needed way more mango in them. All in all, if you want quick takeout and aren't too picky with your Indian food, give them a try.

Unfortunately, they were closing at 9pm, as they just changed their hours but the internet hadn't caught up yet. We were still able to order our food to go, but our orders got mixed up and neither of our dishes were correct (wrong meat in the different sauces), and although we were warned that a level 3 spice is pretty spicy, no one in our group could detect any spice at all in either dish. Giving a star for staff friendliness, and a star for a decent amount of meat in the dishes. Taking a star for the incorrect dishes, discrepancy in posted and actual hours, and lack of spice. I know I'll try this place again, because it has to be a fluke, considering all the great reviews that lead me to try it in the first place! Fingers crossed for next time

I am no expert to Indian food as my experience has primarily been through:…read more- Intel/MSFT cafes with an Indian option (which are pretty good IMO) - Event catering by the local Indian restaurant - Cooking vegan Indian cuisine from Rainbow Plant Life on YouTube Occasionally I will go out for Indian food but ultimately I am hesitant due to my Indian colleagues always telling me "they can make it at home better". As someone who does not have access to an auntie, I cannot claim "authenticity" ... but I can claim Butter Chicken Indian Kitchen serves GOOD food, especially for Gig Harbor. LOGISTICS / AMBIANCE Located next to the Harbor Museum, there is some parking at the very front of the restaurant but I imagine it's OK to overflow into the museum parking, especially when it's closed (that's what we did). I suppose this place qualifies as a "hole in the wall" - it's easy to miss off the main road due it being in a smaller building (think like a gas station convenience store). We were able to get a seat for 3 on a rainy Friday night, but I would call ahead for larger groups of 5+ to check seating availability. Despite the small building, it felt cozy without being cramped. They have an extensive menu so I would take time to look through it while you wait for a seat, but the staff are friendly if you have any questions about unfamiliar items. Sure the lighting isn't flattering... but there's a certain "hole-in-the-wall" charm to the place, from the lanterns on the tables to the smell of curry wetting your appetite. FOOD Unfortunately we were with someone sensitive to spicy food and we wanted to share dishes... so my partner and I had to lower the spice level on our dishes. Unfortunately the 2-3 range was pretty mild for our dishes. Though tasty, I would have liked a little more heat so something to keep in mind. Since we had ordered two saucy dishes, we got two servings of basmati rice in a "handi" ( the copper pot) that kept the rice warm. The basmati rice on its own was very good and fragrant; I even found a cinnamon stick in one of the pots! It went really well with two curries. Fish Korma (lvl 3 spice): Of the two curry-esque dishes I tried, this was my favorite. The creamy sauce was super flavorful with a harmonious blend of spices, super tasty on rice or with any of the provided condiments. I seldom see fish as an option but this was a surprisingly great combination. Tandoori Chicken (lvl 2 spice): This was our favorite dish of the night - it may sound basic (you see tandoori chicken at a lot of places) but it was REALLY good. I liked how the chicken was really juicy and had a nice smokey flavor and char from how it was grilled/serves. The hot plate was a nice touch to keep it warm as well! Definitely squeeze a little bit of the lemon to give it refreshing acidity while eating it warm. I do wish we went higher on the spice rating here since it could have benefited from having more kick, but it was still delicious! Dal Makhani (lvl 3 spice): This was our least favorite, but I had some bias since I was expecting this dish to be something else I had before (need to research more about the variations). I was expecting it to be more creamy with flavor, but it felt a lot more like a tomato-forward channa masala w/ lentils. Still delicious, but not what I was expecting. This also felt a little more spicy than the Fish Korma despite having the same spice level. Garlic Naan (1 piece): Always a must have w/ Indian food! I like eating it with the curries and adding on the complimentary chutneys. The perfect side carb (after basmati rice) for the sauces! Strawberry Lassi: This was was a complimentary surprise, as I think the owner/manager came by and provided them at the end of the meal. They were delicious and a great way to end the meal with a sweet treat! Plus the yogurt helps with digestion or appease any lingering spice effects on the tongue. OVERALL Honestly this place exceeded our expectations - pricing may seem a little high but they're actually on-par with other Indian places I've been to in Seattle and the Bay Area. The portions here are generous especially with the rice - so plan on taking home leftovers! We couldn't finish everything between 3 people and we were starving when we arrived. As a former Gig Harbor residence... I remember a time when this was a little restaurant ran by a sweet Australian couple and a killer cocktail menu. That was years ago, but I'm glad another diverse restaurant option has taken up this space in a town with little variety. The service nice and I could definitely see myself checking out this place again when I'm in the area. All in all, if you're feeling adventurous and want to try something different but delicious... check out Butter Chicken Indian Kitchen!
