We were sad when the Manraj Palace in Kent closed. We had been eating there regularly for the last 13 years since we moved to the neighborhood. We were very excited to learn that they moved to Auburn as Manraj kitchen!! we don't mind the additional 10 minute drive to get the best Indian food we've ever eaten. The Auburn location seems bigger than the Kent location. It's very clean and bright. They serve superb food as usual, and the menu looks the same as the Kent location.. They are opening a small convenience store on the left side of the restaurant as you walk in. This seems like a great idea for the neighborhood. If you are vegetarian or vegan, they have several dishes to accommodate you. Manraj Kitchen is the same family ownership as the Manraj Palace in Kent. The food and service are excellent. Manraj Kitchen is a North Indian restaurant. Small business, women and minority owned. They are still in the process of getting everything up and running starting with signage. The owner (Ranjit Kaur) is a delight to talk to. Service was good. Prompt seating. Got the appetizer platter served with the tangy tamarind date chutney and spicy green (cilantro mint) sauce. The fritters, samosa and the kebabs were great. Loved the Punjabi samosa! The Peshawari Naan was just as I expected, sweet and perfectly warm. The Mixed Grill could have been better with a Tandoori sauce on the side. It was served with complimentary rice but there was no liquid to supplement the rice and the meat. Could have been marinated a bit longer. The variety of chicken, seafood, kebabs was great but was kind of dry and hard to eat. Something that the owner can certainly look at and improve. I would certainly love the try their other curries. Wouldn't hesitate to give them a try again and refresh my review. Note: They have a small convenience store inside the restaurant. This was the most amazing Indian restaurant I've had here in the PNW! I am dairy free and they had plenty of options for me and vegan options available as well. The goat curry was tender and delicious, I had goat curry with roti and my friend who was trying Indian food for the first time really enjoyed the mango chicken and sweet naan! This is a place I've added to my favorites list after trying many Indian restaurants in WA definitely recommend and definitely will be going back, portions are good for 2-3 meals depending on your appetite with very reasonable prices. read more

How did this place get so many positive reviews? I had my food delivered via DoorDash. The chicken roganjosh was so salty, I couldn't eat it. I had to throw it away. The seafood combo description indicates it comes with grilled shrimp -- there was NO shrimp included. The daal had a bitter aftertaste. The ras malai was no more than a cup size in serving, extremely overpriced. They forgot to include the kheer I ordered. It was the same price as the ras malai so it's probably same serving size and overpriced too. Very disappointing. I won't order from them again. read more

Still my favorite Indian restaurant in the area! They have been around for 25 years and it's easy to see why they continue to be a local favorite. While they may be a little bit pricey, they offer generous coupons for takeout orders and you can order online! We are big fans of their garlic naan, sweet naan, butter chicken, tikka masala, korma, palak paneer, biryani, and pakora. They also have Thali or combination dinners if you're feeling indecisive or unsure about what to order. While the ambiance is a little dated, their warm dishes, convenient location, and pleasant staff members make up for it. Definitely come here! read more

We enjoyed a delicious Iunch with butter chicken, mushroom chicken (a lovely light cream sauce), rice, and two kinds of fresh from the oven naan. All was clearly homemade and the portions were very generous - so generous, in fact, that we had to take home most of our sides of naan (unheard of for us)! The hostess, who is also the owner, was very friendly and chatty. She let us know that the restaurant will likely soon be moving to a new location near downtown Auburn, which will be good for us as it's considerably closer to our home. Stopped by Manraj's Kitchen on a whim and ended up finding one of the best Indian spots we've tried in the entire state. The Tandoori Shrimp was the standout! Perfectly seasoned, tender, served on a bed of onions and peppers - absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, Garlic Naan, and Mango Lemonade, and everything tasted freshly made and full of flavor. There was a bit of a wait because they were working on a large catering order, but honestly, the freshness made it well worth it. The owner and chef came out to talk with us and shared that while the Auburn location is new, the business itself isn't as they recently moved from Kent due to her husband's illness. Her warmth and pride in her food really came through. I'll definitely be back anytime I'm in the area, especially to try more of the tandoori dishes. A true hidden gem. read more

I have tested all the Indian food, restaurants around the area, and this is by far the best flavor, the best portions, and just some all-around great people running the place. I've been coming to this kitchen for the past few years now, and have followed them from the Kent/Covington location simply because they are the best. We had terrible service. We got there about 7:50 PM and were only one of two tables. The girl who was our server - I'm guessing it was the owner's daughter was beyond rude. You could tell she didn't want to be there. I asked for a little ghee so I could put it on my tandoori as it was a bit dry. When I asked for it she said"what do you want it for?". Then proceeded to bring me about a teaspoon full. Basically useless. Then at 8:50 she came over as my friend put his fork down and grabbed his plate and said "we are closing". I guess she decided he'd had enough. However, their son about 15-16 years old, came over and told us how his mom loved to cook and she put love into all her dishes. This young man should own the restaurant. He was delightful! His sister, not so much. We probably won't go back as there are plenty of other restaurants that have great service and food. read more

This is our favorite indian place hands down. Our favorites are the chicken tikka masala and chicken malai. Their sauces are super creamy and flavorful and as someone with a gluten allergy, I have safely eaten their food for as long as we have been patrons.
