Just wanted to give a "shout out" to a new Indian restaurant in Auburn....Manraj's Kitchen at 530 W Main where Happy Express used to be and before that it was Andes and before that ?????. First time trying and we were all so happy with the quality and variety of the food we tried. Garlic and regular naan, veggie and lamb samosas, butter chicken, lamb roagnjosh (3/5 heat), mushroom paneer, chicken madras (4/5 heat), aloo paratha. Everything was fantastic. 4/5 heat was spicy and flavorful, 3/5 heat is flavorful and mild. Recently moved to the Maple Valley/Kent area and are so pleased to have found this spot! When we took the Naans out of the foil wrap, we were disappointed to see that the Naans has some dark Fingerprints-like spots on them and decided not to eat them. Manraj Palace, shame of you for sending such food, paid by hard earned money of people through DoorDash. You know that people can't "return" food that are of unacceptable quality through food delivery services and still send them! I went to a birthday party where the main entree was Indian. I decided to bring some samosas. My friend lives in Kent and found this restaurant on yelp. I called my order in and about 25 minutes later, I pulled into the parking lot and picked up the samosas. They were ready and on my way out went to the party! The samosas were delicious, amazing and quite large! The were a hit at the party and everyone raved about the sauces that were included! Best Indian food in the area! We love this place, and the staff (I believe it's a family owned business) are incredibly welcoming and friendly. Honestly everything I've tried here has been amazing but I really like the mango chicken and lamb korma. Portions are big and we always get 2-3 meals worth. Definitely worth stopping in! read more

A family run Indian restaurant for over 20 yrs this establishment is ideally situated on busy Kent Kangley intersection next to Safeway and opposite to Trader Joe's. Lots of parking although small in size it's big on authentic flavors.Lots of vegetarian/vegan options. Visited on a Sunday afternoon for late lunch and ordered matar paneer, saag paneer, raita, chickpea salad, spinach naan and chai which came in teapot for refills. Rainy days call for curry! I ordered the vegetarian combo and the paneer tikka masala to go cuz im not trying to be seen with my adult acne. The vegetarian combo came with 3 types of curry. A spinach, garbanzo bean and then a lentil. There was also a white creamy yogurt type sauce (im not exactly sure) and the rice dessert. Me and my husband inhaled it. The spinach curry is creamy, the garbanzo beans were firm and savory and the lentils were very flavorful. The curry was wonderful but to be honest I covet the dessert for myself. Its sweet and aromatic with herbs. I've never eaten something like that except in Indian restaurants and I love the nuts and seeds in it. The texture of the rice in the dessert and the sweet aroma is really why I keep ordering the lunch combo. I still remember the first time I had the dessert. For an Indian place in Kent, this place is very reliable and tasty. We ordered the palak paneer, goat curry, onion khulcha, and roti. Our order was ready for us in 20 min. The palak paneer is full of spinach-y goodness. The goat curry is well-spiced and the meat was tender. The onion khulcha was nice and pillow-y, and the roti had a nutty, whole wheat taste to it. If you're looking for inexpensive, delicious Indian food in Kent, I'd recommend this place. It's almost as good as the places in Seattle, but for a suburb, it hits the spot. read more

This is a tiny place, easy to miss with a sign that blends into a cookie cutter strip mall. The location is unexceptional but the food...oh the food. As soon as you open the door, you are surrounded by an array of delicious scents, and the food delivers on the promise of its aroma. My personal favorite is the butter chicken at a 2 level of spice: the perfect comfort food. I have never dined in, only ordered takeout, so I can't speak to service except to say that everything has been fresh, piping hot and properly prepared, totally tasty. Be aware that portions are not large, so there is that to consider if you are on a budget. In terms of quality you are getting what you pay for. Bonus points for the fun Bollywood music videos playing on a small monitor near the register, great way to enjoy any wait for takeout food. read more

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. The service and the food were equally amazing. I was so excited to try this place so when their new food truck came to my neighborhood, I was ecstatic. The only thing that stooped me from getting one of everything on the menu was the guilt I would have later after I ate it all. We ordered Chicken Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan and Veggie Samosas. The chicken Tikka Masala was the BEST I have ever had and I could eat plates and plates of that. The samosas were HUGE and came with a delectable sweet dipping sauce. The chicken curry was rich and had so much flavor. I am already planning my next trip to the restaurant so I can try other dishes that they didn't have. The owner and cook of Manraj was also the one serving food on the truck. He was the friendliest man I have ever met. He instantly treated me like family and was quick to ask what kind of dishes that I like so he could give me recommendations. He brought the food to our table inside the brewery and even threw in some extra things to taste. This place is definitely a family run business with lots of love for their food and their customers. I am soooo happy that I have a new favorite restaurant not too far from my home and I cant wait to try everything!! read more

We were looking for a good Indian place close to home for months and this was the best tasting we've had by far. This business isn't following WA state covid protocols and it is not organized/on top of online orders. None of the employees had masks on or masks anywhere near them. This included the people working with customers and everyone in the kitchen making the food. I made an online order through their website and got a notification it would be ready in 35min. Came in for dinner on a Sunday night. There was another table that was occupied aside from us when we came in. The server immediately said hi to us and instructed us to take a seat. The menu was already on the table to after a few minutes of waiting we ordered, some hot chai tea, the assorted appetizer, garlic naan, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. The appetizer sampler consisted of some battered fried onions, vegetable samosa, bartered chicken, meat kabob and vegetable pakora. They also served it with their chutneys. Whatever you do, order this. It's soooooo delish. The batter was light and not greasy at all. The vegetable samosa was stuffed with creamy potatoes for the most part. Mix the green (I don't know what it's called) and plum chutney then dip everything in it. But then it took forever to get out dinner otherwise I would have given them 5 starts. There were only 3 tables aside from us (all with 3 people sitting) but the food took at least another 40 minutes from when we got our appetizer. I did notice that they have a lot of pick up ordered which I think they prioritized more than the people sitting in the restaurant. We finally got our food and the butter chicken was buttery, creamy and melt in your mouth. The Tika masala chicken was also good. The rice was fluffy and the garlic naan was fluffy but had a crunchy bottom. Everything had the right amount of spices. I wish I had ordered the bread basket instead bec those sauces were so delish. I could just keep dipping the naan in the sauces. Oh and if you check in via Yelp, you get a FREE rice pudding which was really creamy, a little floral and a little sweet. Not your typical rice pudding as it was a little loose in consistency but a very nice way to end the meal. Oh and the chai tea to me, needs a tad bit more spice but very good too. We will be back but hoping next time, the service will be much faster. read more

With that being said I still rate this spot 5 stars overall and would recommend this spot to anyone looking for the best Indian food in Washington hands down. The place is clean very ambiance, decor is well decorated and clean. The waiter is very polite and seated us quickly. Mama remembered us and we told her we lived far, we wish there was another location in our area. The food especially my favorite Shrimp Malai is out of this world on your taste palate. Chai was to die for.. very authentic and they gave us a whole teapot extra! Samosa was tasty but had too much cumin. Paneer pakora great. Navratan korma great, but lacked fruits (important ingredient). Raita had too much cumin and raw onion. Pulav was bad as it had too much turmeric, whole cherry tomatoes and the taste was just wrong. 4 stars for the great taste (overall), and awesome Chai. Came here as a girls lunch date with my daughter, SIL and niece. We arrived as soon as they opened so it wasn't too busy. The food seems mediocre, nothing too wow. We got a lamb dish, the chicken masala and a veggie dish. Sorry, for the life of me, I don't recall what we got. But of the 3 dishes, they were just ok for us. Stopped in with my husband for an early dinner. I was excited to try this place based on their yelp reviews. We walked in and it was empty, we were told to sit anywhere. Well, we sat and we sat and we sat. No one came to see us, offer us a menu or something to drink. So after about 5 mins of waiting we got up and left. As we are walking out, the lady asks us if we are ready to order. Um, no, you never even gave us a menu. This may be one of those places that is better for takeout but still disappointing that while trying to support local businesses, they could have cared less.
