This place has some of the most delicious dishes I've ever tasted. My first India cuisine experience was here and when I heard about how spicy you could get the food, I was sold. They have an awesome beer and wine selection also. The first time I ate here I had the butter chicken with some garlic Naan to sop up the sauce 5 stars. OH MY GOD!! I was in spicy delicious heaven. Their chickpea salad is extremely healthy and very tasty. I recommend a Taj Mahal beer with these dishes. I have been back here to try something new and exciting quite often. What a gem! Found this restaurant near home, thanks to Yelp! We got three dishes; butter chicken, lamb jalfrezi, and jumbo shrimp vindaloo. They were delish! But the one that I like best was the butter chicken. OMG it was bomb! These dishes come with a side of basmati rice. Do yourself a "flavor", go hit this place up! You won't regret it. So much flavor and spice. If you want it spicy, get the vindaloo dish, it starts with 3 stars. This place is flavor central!!! We will come back again, this is best on a cold weather, which we have plenty of that here in Washington. I remembered being here when it first opened back a few years ago. The owner (lady server) was very attentive and efficient in taking our orders. Since Third Eye Grill closed, we didn't have much of a choice but to find another Indian restaurant to go to. The 4 & 5 Star Reviews are definitely a factor when we chose the place. I would love to give this restaurant a 5 Star but I'm finding the richness of the sauces a slightly overwhelming. It leaves an aftertaste in my mouth that I'm not completely fond of. The richness seems to interfere with the spices they use for the food. If you're okay with thicker gravy like sauces, I don't think you'll notice it. What we ordered *Stick with mild spice- it's spicy enough* Chicken & lamb rogan josh Butter Chicken- delicious but really rich Malay Chicken- mayo/coconut like really rich sauce., Naan (cheese & chicken) Our entrees came with complimentary rice and Naan. We went here for a very late lunch/early dinner after a long hike last evening. We were really hungry and were hoping for some great food. Unfortunately, we made rookie mistakes and ignored the tell tale signs. We ordered an appetizers and some entrees but for some reason the first thing to the table were the naans which started to go cold before the actual food arrived. Tandoori Chicken - Extremely dry, under seasoned and flavorless. It was so stringy that you could absolutely tell it had been re-heated from an older batch. Butter Chicken - This was basically orange cream with vegetables and random tiny bits of chicken in it. I have never seen vegetables in a butter chicken and for a second we almost thought it was the veg korma. The dish had no flavor whatsoever. Madras Lamb - The few pieces of lamb that they put in the curry were tough as leather and the curry itself had split. It was probably the worst lamb curry I've ever had. Paneer Korma - This was probably the least of the evils. It was very once dimensional and flavorless and gave my friend a stomach ache but at least it was edible. The food was honestly some of the worst Punjabi food I've had in a while. When you couple that with skimping on meat in meat dishes, only bringing out one portion of rice for four entrees without even offering to bring the others to go and the prices, it's just a recipe for disaster. The server and front of the house were really working hard and I do feel a little bad about us being quite visibly annoyed with the food. They deserve better imho because at the end of the day they face the disgruntled customer. Lesson learned. When a restaurant has a menu the size of a NFL play sheet and the server says everything is special; RUN. Note: In case someone from the restaurant reads this, I would humbly suggest that you reduce that menu size to something much more manageable and then focus on making sure that those dishes are stellar. read more

We order vindalo it was too spicy and no flavor at all. I let the owner know she was so defensive. She's like you order this. I told her I know but there's no flavor 3.5 star I know vindalo is spicy but not freaking taste like hell. Before they're good. Again instead of being defensive, be more courteous to your customer. I know the difference between flavor and no flavor. I'm a chef but this is no flavor and not savory at all. It seems your cook pour tons of cayenne or chili powder. At this time during a covid outbreak, we are dealing with self-quarantining and social distancing. I wasn't able to do anything for my mom on Mother's Day because I was sick (not covid), so I decided to treat her to Indian food, which we have loved since we first tried it almost 30 years ago. First of all, walking into this restaurant, the chef was singing. She can carry a tune beautifully and it really brought up my spirits. I wish I had expressed my appreciation for that when I picked up the food. I ordered Chicken Makhani (Butter Chicken), which is always ordered automatically in our family, Chicken Malai, Chicken Biryani, Baingan Bharta, and Spinach Naan, all at a level 3 spiciness, which were perfectly seasoned in all the dishes. The Chicken Makhani - Rating: 4.5 because it was a little more tomato-y than I like, but the tikka chicken in it makes up for A LOT, so I give it a rating of 4.5. Usually, when I order it, it's made with just regular chicken, but I love the flavor of chicken tikka, so that was a wonderful change. Chicken Malai - Rating: 5 - I'd never tried before; in fact, I'd never seen it on a menu before, so I was interested to try it. It was delicious and I would definitely order it again. This had regular chicken in it, not the tikka, but it was good. Chicken Biryani - Rating: 5 - It was very flavorful. I loved the nuts and raisins in it, and I'd order it again. I really liked the flavor of the chicken in it. Eggplant Bharta - Rating: 3 because although the flavor was good, the eggplant was rather chunky, and I prefer them much more mashed up, almost puréed. I'll probably try a different vegetable next time. Spinach Naan - Rating: 3 - I'm not a big bread person, making me somewhat biased, so while I give it a rating of 3, my opinion shouldn't be taken into account if you're a bread/naan lover. I ordered the following dishes from this place: Chicken Tandoori-Half Chicken Malai Garlic Naan. All the dishes seem to lack the basic spices that needed for Indian cuisine. e.g. Ginger, Garlic Cumin and curry powder. Total lack of Flavor. Chicken Malai was excessively diluted with Heavy Cream. Chicken Tandoori had so much red color that it took about 2 days of washing to take it off my fingers(no kidding). I even peeked into their kitchen and saw legit Indians preparing the food. I was expecting Better taste from this restaurant. This place needs a total makeover and re-evaluation of their recipes. I am a local resident and believe in supporting local businesses. read more

It was my first time trying this place and it was pretty good! I got saag chicken (which kinda reminds me of warmed up spinach dip) and it was very rich and flavorful. The lamb roganjosh was pretty good too, and they give you a lot of meat in the curry! The biryani was alright, but I feel like it just tasted like rice with onions and meat. We were originally going to get 5 stars but the server thought that it would be too spicy so we ended up getting 3 stars instead which was perfect for the biryani but I'll for sure get 4 or 5 stars on their saag curry or other creamy dishes. The service was nice and overall pretty friendly. If you check in on Yelp they also give you a complimentary dessert and I believe it's some kind of rice pudding. Had the goat curry 5 star spice, butter chicken 4 star spicy, and 5 star shrimp curry... all hit the mark on flavor and taste profile of what is defining of an Indian curry. I got the combo naan... you pick and choose the ones you want up to 3... but I think price point wise it's better to go for the one you like otherwise delicious read more

Omg how to even start. This lovely restaurant is quaint and I have never seen it super busy, which is shocking to me because it is the best Indian food I have ever had. All of their naan are delicious (especially the sweet naan, a personal favorite of mine...if you go definitely order a couple orders to snack on for a couple days after ) I have yet to have a bad meal here and usually try my husbands food and sometimes even our friends when he comes with us. I recently moved to the area and have been searching for a great Indian place. Luckily I found one today! This place has fantastic, authentic Indian food! The only issue I had was that rice isn't included with any entrees. Usually it is standard for plain rice to be included, so I wasnt expecting to have to purchase it separately. Bad experience. On one hand the food is good... but if you actually know Indian food know that they do not know the obvious difference between butter chicken and Chicken Tika Masala! We got ours and had same masala and different chicken. When we called and complained, they defended themselves that that is the way they do butter chicken... they use the same masala but use different chicken. That is their standard! There are other Indian restaurants that actually know the difference between their food. Go to one of them! read more

Amazing place!! I have never really tried that much Indian food before, and I was definitely missing out! I got the butter chicken, garlic naan and mango lassi. The butter chicken was great with the rice, but it was delicious when paired with the garlic naan. It was honestly one of the best chicken dishes I've ever tried. You can get it from 1-5 spicy, 5 being the spiciest. I got the three and I felt like it was spicy but not too crazy. I will probably opt for the 4 next time. The mango lassi was one of the better drinks I've tried. I'm honestly not that big of a fan of mangoes, but this was a very delicious and refreshing yogurt drink! I can't wait to come back and try even more of their dishes. If you are planning on having take out, I would suggest ordering over the phone. It's a 25-30 minute wait for the food. read more

My husband and I had dinner here tonight and it was delicious as usual. I had the Shrimp Masala - my regular, which I love - and my husband (aka Flashfire-Asbestos-Mouth Man - maybe he's a superhero?) tried the Garlic Chicken. His was so good (but TOO HOT) that I will get it next time without the crazy five-plus stars. The Masala is such a guilty pleasure, and with naan dipped in the sauce, it's absolutely amazing. They say it's the "usual" Masala sauce, but I don't believe that at all. Family owned and run with friendly welcoming owners. The atmosphere is awesome with the Indian music videos and talk show TV. Updating my review to 4 stars. When picking up food no one was wearing a mask. We will not be ordering there anymore until Covid is no longer a risk. They changed their butter chicken (chicken makhani) recipe to include green bell peppers and is usually our go to with any restaurant but here it just isn't it, at $14+ for a small portion I will pass. BUT their chicken malai and garlic naan is so amazing, I can't find my own recipe that comes close to this! This was very competent all-around. Everything was executed perfectly. I ordered a palak paneer (spinach with paneer) and it was heavenly. The creaminess was exactly where it needs to be - not too much, not too little. The service was also exceptional - not bad for a mom and pop place as they were attentive to our needs. I almost drove all the way to Renton from Auburn for my Indian food fix but glad I stumbled upon this highly rated Yelp spot. I had to check it out. First off our server was super helpful. We let her know if was our first time at their restaurant and right away she pointed out some of their top recommendations. She also helped us out on picking out the right spice level. We typically go for a 3 out 5 for spice level. Her 2 spice level recommendation was perfectly considered- it was our first time there and she thought less heat would allow us to really taste the flavors of their food rather than having your tongue and whole mouth on fire. She was absolutely right!! The Chicken Tikka Masala had the perfect depth of flavor. I could taste the spices in the creamy sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked. And last but not least the Garlic Naan was fresh, nothing short of amazing when dipping into the extra Masala. Oh and the food came out quick!
