Our server didn't take my order properly and got paper dosa instead of plain ghee roast dosa. It was higher priced too. The ambiance is decent--nothing fancy, but comfortable. They have plenty of seating for two, although the tables are on the smaller side. We ordered the idli and vada dipped in sambar, and it arrived within five minutes. The vada was absolutely delicious--soft, fresh, and literally melted in the mouth. The idli, however, was a bit firm. The sambar was the highlight of the meal; it was flavorful and absolutely amazing. We also tried the Mysore Paneer Masala Dosa, which was just okay. It was a bit too oily for my taste. The onion tomato uttapam was decent as well, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, I'd rate the place 7/10. The owners and servers are polite, helpful and served us hot sambar when the one served to us was cold. We reached there 7 mins after it opened, and there were people seated and ordering!! Within minutes the place became full and super busy. Ambience is quite minimalist. The menu is vast with adequate options in both veg and non veg to choose from. The food was delicious. We ordered idli (tasty, light), filter coffee (okayish), chicken roast (bone in pieces, yummy prep, flavorful), podi ghee masala dosa (tasty but potato was relatively a bit less), benne dosa (flavorful), onion rawa dosa and ghee masala rawa dosa (tasty and very filling). I had the non-veg thali and paneer masala dosa. Everything was absolutely delicious and the flavors were fresh and tasted authentic. The sambal, coconut chutney, and red lentil curry paste with the dosa was incredible. Dosa was crispy, hot, and aromatic. Serving size was huge and reasonable for the price. The thali comes with a sourdough pancake, thin crispy chickpea flatbread, and a huge assortment of sides. Easily shareable between 2 people and loved how the pancake had a slight tang and paired so well with the sides. My favorites here were the chicken thigh curry, yellow lentil curry, and an orange lentil paste that seemed to consist of ground nuts as well. Stopped by in the evening and had the Combo 2, which comes with a medu vada, single idly, and mini masala dosa. The filter coffee was excellent, and the dosa was the standout item for me. The idly and vada were okay but nothing special. The chutneys and sambhar were quite good and complemented everything well. The service is pretty quick, and prices are great for the serving size of the dosas. The ambiance is not much but that's not why you go to places like this you go for the dosas! There were over 100 types of dosas. Maybe I just didn't get the right one for myself, but I didn't like the mysore paneer masala dosa that much. I did like the curry leaf masala dosa though. Maybe it's because I don't drink too much coffee but the filter coffee was really really better. I had to add at least two packets of sugar to make it drinkable. Always a favorite spot but with recent visit, do see a change in the quality. The ghee podi dosa is always a favorite and still continues to be so. However other items aren't as flavorful. We came on a really fun day--pongal! We were lucky to have a pongal thali and try pongal for the first time. Creamy comfort with lots of ghee. I'm less familiar with Tamil food than other S. Indian, so I had a great time trying so many dishes. Coconut curry and turmeric rice were standouts. Their regular menu has an impressive list of giant crispy dose. We tried curry leaf chutney potato masala dose and it was delicious. Not everything is equally exceptional (the tomato chutney wasn't quite right and the chai was not flavorful) but overall, the huge variety of dishes and quality of the dose will draw me back any time I'm in the area. Excellent quality of food as expected from the experience we have from the Issaquah branch. Mill creek (Bothell) branch is very small and congested which I heard from the owner that they are planning to fix it. That will be a major relief. The next major problem this branch has is the service, especially the cashier. The guy with the cap (most of the times) at the cashier is very rude, providing wrong information to the customers, throwing attitude and not willing to help. Visited Madras Dosa Corner for lunch over a weekday. It was not very busy (as it is usually for dinner and over weekends). We ordered their Plantain Bajji, Combo 1 (Idly, Vada, Kesari and Mini Masala Dosa), Combo 2 (Pongal, Vada and Dosa), Keema Mutton Dosa, Chicken Kothu Parotta and Tea. The Plantain Bajji was fantastic - hot, flavorful, not oily and freshly made - exactly how you get in Tamil Nadu. Items on both the combos were great, freshly cooked, and delicious. The Mutton Keema Dosa was the best; it was made with egg and minced goat curry. The minced goat curry was delicious - not too spicy and goes very well with pretty much any thing. It was the highlight of our whole meal. We got the Chicken Kothu Parotta as take out (couldn't take pictures). The Kothu Parotta was more on the spicier side. If you go here, order the South Indian food options, because that's what's good and it's a South Indian place so that's what they do well. Honestly, this is the type of place where while you are eating you can't help but wonder if they got someone's grandma in the back making all the food. Just finished visiting the Troll over at Rainier Trail and were ready for dinner so we Yelped Indian food and found Madras Dosa Corner nearby with decent reviews so we went there. We were fairly inexperienced with ordering Dosas so the very nice waiter helped us a lot and recommended several things from the menu. We began with the Idli Vadai which was a donut shaped appetizer with a savory dipping chutney, then had the Onion Pakoda which was like french fried onions that you normally see on top of a green bean casserole for Thanksgiving. This also had a chutney dipping sauce with it. For our main courses, we had the Onion Rava Masala Dosa and a Mysore Masala Dosa. I believe the Mysore was the one that came triangle shaped and had some mild spice inside of it. Each dosa had a serving of potato and vegetable filling inside it which was tasty. The dosas came with 3 different chutneys as well. Then the server who brought out our food made a mistake and brought us out two other plain dosas that were meant for another table. We told the waiter when he came to check on us and he realized what had happened so he just compted those two extra dosas for us. Needless to say, we had a few leftovers good for another meal. This place had a fair amount of customers as we ate and service was pretty good for us. I liked the food as trying new things is one of my mantras this year and this was all new to me. Madras Dosa is a great little Indian restaurant located in a pretty quiet strip mall. They've been on my bookmarks for a very long time and I was excited to finally work my way in! We got there in the afternoon and it was already a full house with some people waiting for a table. Thankfully there was a 2-top open so we were seated quickly. Service was friendly and pretty quick, especially with a full house! I opted for my fairly usual order - paneer pakoda, garlic naan, and malai kofta. Everything was really good and I'd absolutely go back! After I ordered I kinda felt like something was missing...spice level is something I'm usually asked, but not here. Seems like they have a default and you get what you get. No complaints - I thought it was a great level though I would have gone a little hotter if the option were there. If you're going to dine in don't be me and be mindful of your table space. I usually take photos, but there are none for Madras Dosa. Why? Well, first it started with 2 beers (bottles and the glasses) with the pakoda. Manageable, no worries. Then comes the naan and the 2 dishes and their rice and the next thing you know there is zero room on the table and I'm trying to be creative about how to make it work! Can't speak enough great things about this place. The servers, the food, their innovation!! Every time we come here, we are greeted with smiley faces. Ghee dosa, Onion rava masala dosa, Onion Podi Utappa, Pepper Chicken Curry are all unparalleled. I have rarely tasted a better dosa anywhere.
