I was introduced to this wonderful restaurant today. The experience was magical. We were welcomed in by the owner's smile, she was holding the door since I was on crutches. We started with a warm spicy chai on this rainy day. The chai was so delightful. We had the Saag with Makki Di Roti and the Lamb Curry. The saag and roti were so amazing, I've never had such rich saag. So yummy! The lamb curry was also such a nice. The warm spices including cinnamon in the gravy made it truly delicious. We dropped by this place due to a delay at a doctor's appointment. And boy, we were glad to do so. Classic Punjabi fare, almost homestyle cooking (we had the kulcha, Black Chana, lassi .. and some dahi-puris for apps). I don't think this place is expensive given the comparables. My husband has abandoned his other favorite Indian places for the long drive to Issaquah to eat here. It's real Punjabi food like his mother used to make. What I love is that that flavors are distinct, fresh and not just one sauce used with each dish as so many other places. If you have never had good goat curry this is the place. Goat is the fastest growing meat category in the country, it is lean and quite healthful. Their goat curry is not to be missed with flavors that are marvelous and distinctive. All dishes may be ordered mild, medium and hot. There is inside and outside seating in season which is fun. It is casually decorated, accomodating children and families. The portions are large. I just found out on a recent visit that you can get a thali which is a terrific way to get various tastes but it is definitely large enough for two people to share. We used to patronize the Traveler's Thali House on Beacon Hill which closed years ago and I loved to get this combo. I would order this again for sure. Most of the time we take half our meal home to enjoy days later. Many other restaurants have oily food this place does not. I highly recommend you try it with friends. Their selection of Indian breads is like few other places I have seen. The owner is often there, and the staff is kind and welcoming. The dishes were packed carefully! - Paneer Naan - simple, plain ingredients in a naan - Amritsari kulcha - liked the spiceness and the softness of kulcha - Chole Bhature - Bhatura was good, the usual stuff, nothing extraordinary about the chole. What needs improvement - Samosa Chaat - I had asked it to be mixed rather than asking me to make it at home as we heading to a park. The Chaat was unique, the samosa and yogurt were good but it lacked any spicyness - Chilli Chicken - worst and expensive chilli chicken I ever had. The chicken pieces were huge and dry and difficult to chew. TLDR: Food that tastes like your mom made it with love. We ordered the aloo tikki chaat and dahi poori, hands down the best chaat I've had in a long time. We also tried the chole kulcha, sarson & makki roti, chicken curry, dal maharani, chai, and chaas. Everything was incredible. Seriously, just go already. The service, which I'm pretty sure was by the owner, was so sweet and welcoming and truly made us feel at home. The ambiance is cute and cozy. We visited Indian Grill on a Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised. It is a cozy, welcoming little restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Everything is made fresh, and it truly shows in the food. The parathas are especially impressive--huge portions and very satisfying. We ordered chicken tikka masala, paneer bhurji, bhindi masala, three parathas, two banana lassis, and chai. Every dish was delicious, served piping hot, and came out quickly. The bhindi masala deserves a special mention--the okra was fresh (not frozen), soft, and not stringy at all. Prices are very reasonable only 30$/person including tax and tip for a whole lot of food we ordered and took home. The service was excellent. Our hostess was incredibly sweet and even helped us pack our leftovers, which we happily enjoyed the next morning. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming. This place is truly a hidden gem. There is ample parking in front, along with additional street parking. We will definitely be back. read more

Ate here three times already. Lovely family-run restaurant with solid north Indian and Punjabi food! What we've had so far: - Thali Special with fresh Rhoti (many different small dishes with fresh bread and rice) - Chicken Tikka Masala - Daal (lentil) Soup - Mango Lassi - Daal Tadka (spiced stewed chickpeas) - Raita (spiced yogurt with cucumber) - Chole Bhature (stewed chickpeas with fresh bread) - Vegetable Biryani With the exception of the Chicken Tikka (we didn't like the dry chicken breast, and the sauce was a bit salty for us), every dish has been very tasty. Especially the Thali and Biryani, we can eat these all day! The seating and decoration is just all right, but theres not much anyone could do with this building without extensive renovation. The restaurant was kept very clean however, which is way more important anyway. For service, you can really tell they care about making you good food and you enjoying it. What a great addition to the neighborhood! I did a takeout order and the owner was so kind and welcoming to me. We enjoyed butter chicken, samosas, and chai tea. They really take good care when they pack up everything- nothing spilled, and the portions are huge! Everything was delicious, and I do suggest you err on the cautious side of spice level- this isn't the Americanized heat level, they don't play around with spice. Medium elsewhere is probably mild here. Parking is a private lot in front, which is super convenient! No hunting around for street parking. We will be back for dine in next time! read more

We've been here a few times now and this is easily some of the best Punjabi style food you will get in the region; comparable to Surrey. Everything is freshly made, very authentic, super flavorful, and generous portions. The couple who run the restaurant used to previous run the Desi Tadka food truck in Issaquah, and the food has only gotten better. The thali is easily their best option and I'd very strongly recommend it. The service is super quick and friendly, and the owner Amandeep is truly one of the nicest and kindest people you will ever meet; she goes out of her way to make sure that you're well fed and happy. The food was delicious. We ordered the chole bhature. The deep fried bread reminded us of Chinese Donut. We also ordered the Punjabi Thali, which was many of their dishes in one. For the price, this was a phenomenal deal. The butter paneer and the dal makhani was the best. We could ordered the Thali by itself and that'd be enough for us two. The service was kind, prompt and attentive. The waitress refilled our waters right away. When we packed our food, she worked with us to figure out how to pack. For the price, really hard to beat and we were so full! The food was on point. Nitpicking: the garlic naan could've had more garlic The ambiance feels good. We sat by the window and the light above our food was green, which is an odd choice. Some other tables had red color light but this didn't effect how the food tasted. I bet in the summer, this place with the outdoor seating would be pleasant. The tv was playing Indian hiphop music, which was amusing to listen and watch. First time trying this restaurant, feeling confused. Such high ratings we thought it was going to be a great meal. We tried the family favorites and really enjoyed the garlic naan and basmati rice. But the vegetable pakoras, aloo gobi, butter chicken, and amrisari kultcha were all too salty to eat. My wife enjoys salty food, usually adding to taste. This food all came too salty for her too. The butter chicken sauce was strange, tasting like tomatoes and raisins, too sweet. Then the chicken was salty. No sign of cream, yogurt or butter anywhere, not the right color. We stopped by yesterday for dinner as we were driving from Spokane down to Olympia. They were so easy to get to right off of I 90. And the food, OMG. Fabulous. We love Indian food and this was one of the best places we have been to. It was the best chai we have had anywhere also. You can order the food, mild medium or hot. We ordered it medium, and then ordered Raita to go over it. That brought it to just the right spicing for us. And the family that runs it are lovely. Definitely go.
