A new establishment, liked them 4* for who they are and how they treat the customers but food is 3* What I liked - quick, friendly service (take out). The dishes were packed carefully! - Paneer Naan - simple, plain ingredients in a naan - Amritsari kulcha - liked the spiceness and the softness of kulcha - Chole Bhature - Bhatura was good, the usual stuff, nothing extraordinary about the chole. What needs improvement - Samosa Chaat - I had asked it to be mixed rather than asking me to make it at home as we heading to a park. The Chaat was unique, the samosa and yogurt were good but it lacked any spicyness - Chilli Chicken - worst and expensive chilli chicken I ever had. The chicken pieces were huge and dry and difficult to chew. The sauce was very gravy than expected. - Mixed Veg - Another flavorless curry with heat and didn't like the gravy The overall $ bill was little shocking and probably a bit more than I thought it would be!

    Paneer paratha

We visited Indian Grill on a Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised. It is a cozy, welcoming little restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Everything is made fresh, and it truly shows in the food. The parathas are especially impressive--huge portions and very satisfying. We ordered chicken tikka masala, paneer bhurji, bhindi masala, three parathas, two banana lassis, and chai. Every dish was delicious, served piping hot, and came out quickly. The bhindi masala deserves a special mention--the okra was fresh (not frozen), soft, and not stringy at all. Prices are very reasonable only 30$/person including tax and tip for a whole lot of food we ordered and took home. The service was excellent. Our hostess was incredibly sweet and even helped us pack our leftovers, which we happily enjoyed the next morning. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming. This place is truly a hidden gem. There is ample parking in front, along with additional street parking. We will definitely be back.

Family ran with great service! It's super cozy and welcoming! Butter chicken and lamb tikka were well made, the pakora with chutneys - so crisp and bright!

What a great addition to the neighborhood! I did a takeout order and the owner was so kind and welcoming to me. We enjoyed butter chicken, samosas, and chai tea. They really take good care when they pack up everything- nothing spilled, and the portions are huge! Everything was delicious, and I do suggest you err on the cautious side of spice level- this isn't the Americanized heat level, they don't play around with spice. Medium elsewhere is probably mild here. Parking is a private lot in front, which is super convenient! No hunting around for street parking. We will be back for dine in next time!

    Thali Special with fresh Rhoti

Ate here three times already. Lovely family-run restaurant with solid north Indian and Punjabi food! What we've had so far: - Thali Special with fresh Rhoti (many different small dishes with fresh bread and rice) - Chicken Tikka Masala - Daal (lentil) Soup - Mango Lassi - Daal Tadka (spiced stewed chickpeas) - Raita (spiced yogurt with cucumber) - Chole Bhature (stewed chickpeas with fresh bread) - Vegetable Biryani With the exception of the Chicken Tikka (we didn't like the dry chicken breast, and the sauce was a bit salty for us), every dish has been very tasty. Especially the Thali and Biryani, we can eat these all day! The seating and decoration is just all right, but theres not much anyone could do with this building without extensive renovation. The restaurant was kept very clean however, which is way more important anyway. For service, you can really tell they care about making you good food and you enjoying it. Go here, support your local small business, grab some lovely food at Indian Grill!

    Punjabi thali

The food was delicious. We ordered the chole bhature. The deep fried bread reminded us of Chinese Donut. We also ordered the Punjabi Thali, which was many of their dishes in one. For the price, this was a phenomenal deal. The butter paneer and the dal makhani was the best. We could ordered the Thali by itself and that'd be enough for us two. The service was kind, prompt and attentive. The waitress refilled our waters right away. When we packed our food, she worked with us to figure out how to pack. For the price, really hard to beat and we were so full! The food was on point. Nitpicking: the garlic naan could've had more garlic The ambiance feels good. We sat by the window and the light above our food was green, which is an odd choice. Some other tables had red color light but this didn't effect how the food tasted. I bet in the summer, this place with the outdoor seating would be pleasant. The tv was playing Indian hiphop music, which was amusing to listen and watch. Theyre using an automated playlist on YouTube. Some had English subtitles. Definitely coming back again

It really was beautiful in all areas and the music was authentic and the perfect volume. We ordered the tandoori chicken and it arrived at the table sizzling on the iron plate. It was the best we'd ever had, full of spices and fall off the bone tender. The server was great with tips and I liked that we could adjust the spiciness. Next was the lamb keema biryani. Again, excellent flavor and we loved the sauces served with it. The raita was just right. The garlic naan was fresh and hot. For dessert, we ordered the mango lassi, chai tea, and shared the rasmalai dessert. All excellent quality with perfect texture, temperature, snd sweetness. We were very impressed. The only reason I gave only four stars instead of an enthusiastic five, is because when we entered we were excited to sit down in the beautiful dining room to enjoy our first meal there. Instead we just kept going and were led further and further back until we reached the sports bar area and were seated with no one else around for the whole meal. There was seating available in the main dining room. It felt very isolated and detracted from our overall experience. We'll be back but next time we'll request to be seated with the general population. That aside, I highly recommend!

I was pleasantly surprised to see chilli bajji on the menu it's been a while since I've had it so I ordered a plate (comes with two chilies) along with a masala dosa. The green mint chutney served with the bajji was outstanding possibly the best I've had at any restaurant. The bajji itself was a bit cold, which was a letdown, but still decent. I just wish it had been served hotter. The masala dosa was very filling and tasted fresh, though it was also slightly cold. The aloo masala was nice; I was surprised to see peas in it, but it worked well overall. Both the chutneys and sambar were good, but the real highlight here is definitely the chutneys especially the mint and coconut, which might be the best I've had in Seattle. I also noticed a lot of people picking up food, which makes sense. I'd definitely come back again.

The appetizer section had a nice spread of salads and it was presented well. The gulabi dahi vada was unfortunately too sweet, and the inside was stiff and dry. The samosa chaat was nicely presented, and the samosa itself tasted good. They also had dhokla bites as an appetizer, but they did not have the texture of dhokla at all. Instead of being soft and fluffy, they were more grainy and doughy, and the taste was a bit strange. The paneer appetizer looked very bright, clearly colored with artificial coloring, and unfortunately it lacked flavor. The cut mirchi stuffing was good, but the peppers themselves were dry and cold. The gobi 65 was quite good. Among the curries, the kesariya egg curry was not good at all. The aloo tamata curry tasted like simple home cooked food. The palak paneer was good, and there was another creamy shahi paneer style curry which was okay. The naan seemed like it had been made when the buffet first started because it was cold when we tried it and not enjoyable. The restaurant started filling up around 12:30 to 1:00 PM. I waited for the next batch of naan and the fresh naan was much better. One issue with the restaurant layout is that the buffet setup is in the middle and feels very cramped. Once it got crowded, it was quite difficult to move around and access the dishes. On the positive side, they had a live counter for malpua with rabri and it was really good. The malpua was crispy and not overly sweet, which we liked. They also had gajar halwa and that dessert was very good as well. Overall, there was a large vegetarian spread for the buffet and the concept and presentation for Holi were nice. It looked beautiful, but unfortunately the taste of many dishes did not match the presentation. I drove about an hour from the north to get there, and personally it was not worth the drive. I would not recommend the buffet based on this experience.
