We have walked by this place weekly for nearly a year, and each time we say "we should check this place out!" It's always packed, and smells incredible. We finally stopped in, and I'm sad that we didn't do so sooner. Started off strong with an item from their mocktail menu: peach passion iced tea. Despite the name, there's no passion fruit in it. Just peach. But it is the best peach iced tea I've ever had. It's so good, I ordered two. They bring it to you on a fun little tray of dry ice. For appetizers we got the classic samosas and galouti kabob. Both very good! The chutneys that they come with were also great compliments to the dishes. Our entrees we tried their chicken tikka masala, which comes with jasmine rice. Was very flavorful, and we really enjoyed it and the presentation. I tried a new dish I've never had, the biryani, after suggestion from our waiter. I was torn between this dish and the tropical coconut curry. I'm so glad I chose this! Spicy, 3/5 stars, but so flavorful. The raita that came with the dish was insane. It was so incredibly flavorful, and I made sure to get a little dish to go with my leftovers. We showed up at 5:30, and were the only people in the spot as they had just opened. However they quickly began filling up, and by the time we left the place was packed. If you want to come after 6 pm, definitely recommend a reservation so you don't have to wait! read more

Chutney's has been around downtown Bellevue for a while, but its recent renovation of the entire restaurant has really improved the dining experience. It's nice to see that not only does it serve good Indian good, but its ambiance is great for group gatherings. My colleagues and I visited Chutney's for our birthday lunch and we had a fun time here. The menu offers a lot and unlike what Chutney's used to offer, they no longer have the weekday lunch buffet. Instead, they offer their all day menu which is plenty to choose from. For the three of us, we decided to partake in family style dining, which is what I recommend since you can try more of the items. We ordered the biryani, garlic naan, exotic curry and the tikka mushrooms. And I had the mango coconut mocktail for my drink. Everything we ordered was tasty. It seemed like every table had the biryani, which comes out in a dish that has a baked dough on top. The server cuts it open and there you see the fragrant rice with the spices and meat. I recommend trying! But be warned that this was actually a lot spicier than we expected. It was good, but something to be cautious about if you don't like spicy food. The exotic curry was also nice, especially to go with the biryani. We ended up choosing the lamb with it, and the lamb was very tender. Tikka mushrooms were also a nice addition, adding in some veggies, completing our meal. Our server was Hira and he was super friendly. He found out it was our birthday lunch and they actually play a birthday song on the speakers! That was fun. Had a dinner with colleagues at Chutneys and it was a fantastic meal. I will get the food names spelling wrong, but I'll do my best. We started with the momos and they were delicious and tender. We also had a chicken appetizer and is was very flavorful. The star of the appetizers was the "Wonder Box" which is a fun trio of ingredients you assemble. From there I had the cashew saffron curry with rice and Nan and I ate it all! Our server was very attentive and the ambiance made the meal feel special. The only downside side was that we had 5 people at a 4 topper table and it was crowded. read more

The food was super spicy so keep in mind (I think we ordered the lowest amount for all and still had our mouths on fire (or maybe it was the jalapeño). The mango lassi was a relief for my mouth! The flavor of all dishes was delicious and satisfying - we felt everything complimented each other and would order again. Parking garage is competed so follow the instructions accordingly so you are not charged. Always, the restaurant is beautifully decorated; the service was very impressive (kind, prompt, and responsive) in a surprising way - more so the kind you expect from fine dining; and restroom was generally clean. One of my favourite Indian restaurants in Seattle/bellevue is @chutneysbellevue2.0 Such authentic flavorful food! Mouth just waters thinking of all the items on the menu from appetizers to desserts. We tried and loved - Sizzling Paneer Tikka Matka Biryani (Veg) Methi Malai Kofta Garlic and Cilantro Naan Nimbu Shikanji Definitely a must visit! The restaurants has great vibe and good music playing all the time. The service was impeccable - regular check ins to see if the food is good or just to clean up. Indian husband approved! We came here with some friends visiting from out of town, and all the food was very good. Tip: get the aloo kulcha instead of the garlic naan - it's way better! Food: The lamb biryani is on the spicy side, and tastes very authentic (according to my North Indian husband). Butter chicken is always a hit, and both that and the paneer were creamy and flavorful. The mango lassi was creamy and refreshing. I wish they had bigger straws! I didn't have enough stomach space to try the malai kofta, but everyone seemed to enjoy it. Service - it took an hour to get our food. We sat at 7:30pm, ordered pretty quickly, and got the food at 8:30. Maybe because it was a Friday? Every table was occupied, and there were several large parties. The staff (and whole restaurant) sing happy birthday to the birthday people. General food and ambience is good. I liked the tawa pulao, paneer Tikka and Sichuan momos. But taking off one star for the dessert. We ordered the tiramisu, it looks pretty and has that enticing frozen rose crushing drama but just doesn't have the refined taste. The gulab jamun does not go well with the cake and the rose petals once crushed Don't add any taste to the dessert at all. In general they have tried to imitate the fine dining looks but taste doesn't match up to it. An upscale Indian restaurant in Bellevue downtown. I wouldn't call the flavor an authentic Indian flavor - the flavor definitely has been toned down to suit a more diverse palette. The appetizers were amazing. Each and every one we had exceed the bar. Galouti kebab were in fact perfect melt in mouth and this is coming from a person who does not like mutton at all, lol. Chicken lollipop reminded me of Mumbai and it's really hard to get that level of Chinese food here. We also had the firecracker drink which was amazing! The main course was a bit disappointing after wonderful start. The Kolhapuri was very tomato-y and not authentic. It tasted good, but not what we were expecting. We have been hearing lots of positive reviews recently and decided to try it. We tried to make reservations online, and were told we should get a call back from the restaurant to confirm, which we never received. We tried calling to confirm the reservation and no one picked up at the restaurant. When we got there, we were told we needed reservations, and only seated us after we went over all our attempts at making a reservation. I hope they make it easier to reserve a table. The service after that was very friendly. We got Galouti Kebab, Sizzling Paneer Tikka, Flaming chicken 65, and Veg Manchurian. The Galouti Kebab and Sizzling Paneer Tikka were good. My friend like the Veg Manchurian. Flaming chicken 65 was a little disappointing. I also got a Fiery Tandoori Chicken to go, which was okay. Overall great presentation. They had dry ice, everything was pretty and picturesque. We ordered the high tea (we started with one and ended with 2, for 4 people, they say it serves 2-3 but I'd say if it's all you're ordering aim for it serving 1-2). We almost weren't able to order the second I'm guessing because of reservations and timing so just make the right call first. Now, the food is cute, but I was a bit disappointed it didn't have everything listed on the menu, they just have run out because instead of the vol a vent pastry, they had Mac and cheese bites and a mozzarella stick which is not what I expected. Similarly the dessert was off too compared to the menu. I'd rather they call out what you won't be getting as part of the menu. It's strange though because we got there just as they opened so I'm surprised they didn't have everything. I'll say because we still got a bit of room, we also ordered some snacks and the paneer tikka which was nice and smoky (a bit too spicy for my partner but I liked it). And my favorite was the papdi tacos, such a cool take on papdi chaat and the taco shell was yummy. This place is extremely clean and is a fine dining place. We were a party of 7 and were seated quickly. It is located in the heart of Downtown Bellevue. The food arrived pretty quickly after we ordered. The restaurant was pretty full by the time we went. We ordered Shikanji(5/5) -it was refreshing. Creamy Sweet Corn Soup(5/5) -it tasted very different from the other restaurants and was yumm. Schezwan momo(5/5)- it was extremely delicious. Drums of heaven(5/5)- had the perfect crunch and taste. Chicken matka biryani(4/5)- taste wise it was good. Chicken pieces had less spices and felt dry. The rice does not come with much masala. It might be a different style of making biryani. We dined at Chutney's last night with five people. Two of us are vegans and the staff was very accommodating and made sure our dishes had no ghee, yoghurt, or any other dairy. Our waiter, Noor, was fantastic and the dishes were beautifully plated. All of us enjoyed the food so much. The only strange thing was that the updated menu online (as of Feb. 2025, which is NOW) and the menu prices and offerings at the restaurant are not the same. Online the roti and breads are $2.99 each but we were charged $6 for all of them! Also, the vegetarian entrees are far less expensive on the online menu than what we paid. Solid Indian food with nice ambiance and 2h validated parking in the attached garage. The tables could use more overhead lightning, just to read the menu and see what's on the table. They do have table lamps, but once the food hits the table, you have to move the lamp and it gets dark. We enjoyed their chicken 65, super delicious and tandoori chicken that was set on fire in front of you (can't remember the name, but it was quite impressive and fun). Overall it was a decent experience. Visually, it's a nice place with table lighting and a good amount of seating. We went on a Monday night around 830pm and we were immediately seated with a party of 2. The service was good as well. I read a number of complaints about the orders taking too long, though fortunately we didn't experience that. We're either lucky or they've improved. Now to the food. We started with fresh lime soda and a mango lassi. Both were good. The lassi didn't taste like canned pulp, which is always a good sign. Fresh lime was fine. The waiter recommended the soda based drink over lime shikanji for the fizz and that was probably the right choice. From the food side, the vada pav was good. The green pepper it comes with had bite, which made it nice and spicy. I think overall, it may have been a bit too dry.inwas teetering between this and the pav bhaji, so maybe next time I swap it up. For the mains, the paneer makhanj was the best item they had. Dal makhanj was kind of ok. Not enough flavor to it. The bread were kinda... meh. It didn't seem like they had a tandoor, so the garlic naan was ok. It didn't have the pungency of garlic or that piping hot crisp of a fresh naan. Upon recommendation, I went with the aloo kulcha, which by itself was good, but I wasn't thinking when I ordered, but you don't want masala and potato in the bread to interfere with flavors of the entrees. It was basically a refined flour aloo paratha and at home, I eat that with just yogurt. You wanna enjoy the flavors of each, separately. So anyway... That was a mistake. The kulcha by itself was decent. Some places will serve a flavored kulcha, like this, as it's own appetizer. We didn't leave room for dessert. We were completely stuffed by the end of it. Each entree also comes with rice and we had plenty of rice and some paneer and daal left over. The guys recommended we try the methi malai kofta, which sounds amazing. Maybe next time. read more

Unfortunately the food quality ( too creamy and flavorless) & presentation ( no more dry ice or splatter chaats) has drastically dropped within the past yr...and the prices have jumped ($6 for naan, $20+ for curries, $16-20 for an appy, $7 for a mango lassi, $18 for a dessert). The momos were super delicious and worth trying. The sham savera kofta was on a sweeter side but full of flavours and delicious. The service could have been better as the corrected soup was served when we were in middle of eating naan and entrees, so that spoiled the experience for us. I had tried this restaurant many years ago, prior to the pandemic, and I was not at all impressed but this time around my experience was amazing. They have renovated the restaurant with some amazing interiors and the food is just "chef's kiss". My husband and I are always on the lookout for a good restaurant and I am so happy we were able to give this one another shot. We tried the vegetarian menu. Started off with drinks, based on our server recommendation - tamarind twist mocktail was a perfect tangy and sweet combo and the mumbai masala mule was great too. Then we were feeling like eating Indian street food so tried the Papdi Taco chaat and it was yum! Mumbai vada pav was spot on and the chutney they served it with made me nostalgic. Mumbai Tawa pulao met the spice level we needed. Too good! Yogurt it was served with balanced it perfectly. We ended up with a sizzling brownie, this was a bit on the sweeter size for me but not overly sweet because we finished it.. haha Our server was very kind and even offered to take pictures of us and made some great recommendations. Service was also quick even though they were pretty busy. I am so happy that this restaurant is in Bellevue downtown - pretty close to us. Ordered palak paneer for the main entree. Could tell it was thoughtfully prepared. The paneer was in a triangular shape and there was filling inside. It was seared so the outside of the paneer had a crunchy texture. Overall, the dish was very flavorful and had layers of texture to it. I just didn't quite expect it to be so spicy I ordered Indian mojito. Was a bit disappointed cuz the Indian twist taste was too light. And the decorations were kinda too simple and not sophisticated. I used to love chutneys and told everyone to go eat there. Used to order delivery regularly too but after today we probably won't go back. Their chef has changed and they are in the cost cutting phase. We ordered soup, raj kachori, galouti kabab, seekh kabab and samosa. The soup was too spicy even though we asked for less spicy. The galauti kabab was good but the roti it came with was too hard. They used to serve 3 samosas but brought out 2. When I asked if they have changed their menu the waiter told me that they have always served two. Their doordash page still lists it as 3 pieces and I did not appreciate being lied to after being a loyal customer for many years. The samosa shell was horribly hard and tasteless. The raj kachori was the most non authentic thing I have ever tasted. It was a shame to call it a raj kachori. It did not even have yogurt. Food and Ambiance were above decent, but very pricey. Desert was below par. But major disappointment was the service. They also don't give any complimentary birthday cakes but just do crushed rose on top of the dessert that we order. So they dont do anything special for occasions. Let me break it down. Food: The presentation of the drinks were good with dried ice beneath the drinks to make a smokey environment around the drinks. It was cool. Both the appetizers (chili Gobi and Malai Soya Chaap) tasted well and had good flavors and were our favorite. The main entree (malai kofta) was just ok, not out of the world. Desert (medley of tiramisu slice with gulab jamun, ice cream and macaron) was really bad. Tiramisu inside was frozen and it was evident that it was not sufficiently thawed. There was some smell in the ice cream and macaroons were really bland. Service: this was the worst part. After we were seated, noone came to take our order for 20mins, and I had to get out of seat to get someone. It took about 20mins for the drinks to come and another 5 mins for appetizers. We were done with appetizers and noone came to pick up the plates. I had to get up again to let server know. I also let them know that its my wifes birthday and if they can do a surprise desert at the end for her. They said that they can offer tiramisu with crushed dry rose but they will charge for it. I was ok with that given celebration must happen. We waited for almost 30mins for someone for the one entree to come. After we were done, one server came and asked us if we want any desert (i had already ordered it so why would they come and ask for it) and i had to tell it infront of my wife that my choice of desert should already be in the order (there goes the surprise). After another 30mins someone came to give us the desert plate and she again revealed that she is giving us plates for the tiramisu dessert ( surprise crusher again). Then finally the dessert came and server asked me to crush the rose ( i had told the server almost an hour back that it was my wife's bday and not mine, why would they ask me?). That was the last of the ordeal. Btw, in the entire 2 hours of our dinner, after the food was served, no server came to ask us "how was the food" or even to fill up our empty water glass.
