Mocktails

Chutney's has been around downtown Bellevue for a while, but its recent renovation of the entire restaurant has really improved the dining experience. It's nice to see that not only does it serve good Indian good, but its ambiance is great for group gatherings. My colleagues and I visited Chutney's for our birthday lunch and we had a fun time here. The menu offers a lot and unlike what Chutney's used to offer, they no longer have the weekday lunch buffet. Instead, they offer their all day menu which is plenty to choose from. For the three of us, we decided to partake in family style dining, which is what I recommend since you can try more of the items. We ordered the biryani, garlic naan, exotic curry and the tikka mushrooms. And I had the mango coconut mocktail for my drink. Everything we ordered was tasty. It seemed like every table had the biryani, which comes out in a dish that has a baked dough on top. The server cuts it open and there you see the fragrant rice with the spices and meat. I recommend trying! But be warned that this was actually a lot spicier than we expected. It was good, but something to be cautious about if you don't like spicy food. The exotic curry was also nice, especially to go with the biryani. We ended up choosing the lamb with it, and the lamb was very tender. Tikka mushrooms were also a nice addition, adding in some veggies, completing our meal. Our server was Hira and he was super friendly. He found out it was our birthday lunch and they actually play a birthday song on the speakers! That was fun. I'm glad we visited Chutney's 2.0, which is a solid place for Indian food in downtown Bellevue.

We stopped by for lunch without a reservation and had a pleasant experience. Ordered a few dishes, mango lassi, plus naan (not pictured) and it was plenty plus leftovers for 2 people. The food was super spicy so keep in mind (I think we ordered the lowest amount for all and still had our mouths on fire (or maybe it was the jalapeño). The mango lassi was a relief for my mouth! The flavor of all dishes was delicious and satisfying - we felt everything complimented each other and would order again. Parking garage is competed so follow the instructions accordingly so you are not charged. Always, the restaurant is beautifully decorated; the service was very impressive (kind, prompt, and responsive) in a surprising way - more so the kind you expect from fine dining; and restroom was generally clean. It was about 75% full on a weekday around lunchtime. Would be interested in booking a reservation for tea in the future.

One of my favourite Indian restaurants in Seattle/bellevue is @chutneysbellevue2.0 Such authentic flavorful food! Mouth just waters thinking of all the items on the menu from appetizers to desserts. We tried and loved - Sizzling Paneer Tikka Matka Biryani (Veg) Methi Malai Kofta Garlic and Cilantro Naan Nimbu Shikanji Definitely a must visit! The restaurants has great vibe and good music playing all the time. The service was impeccable - regular check ins to see if the food is good or just to clean up. They have upgraded the parking around the restaurant too which is now very convenient.

Indian husband approved! We came here with some friends visiting from out of town, and all the food was very good. Tip: get the aloo kulcha instead of the garlic naan - it's way better! Food: The lamb biryani is on the spicy side, and tastes very authentic (according to my North Indian husband). Butter chicken is always a hit, and both that and the paneer were creamy and flavorful. The mango lassi was creamy and refreshing. I wish they had bigger straws! I didn't have enough stomach space to try the malai kofta, but everyone seemed to enjoy it. Service - it took an hour to get our food. We sat at 7:30pm, ordered pretty quickly, and got the food at 8:30. Maybe because it was a Friday? Every table was occupied, and there were several large parties. The staff (and whole restaurant) sing happy birthday to the birthday people. There was also a musician/DJ who was playing music, and sang covers of songs.

Purpuri's! Delicious!

We came in the late afternoon. The restaurant was beautiful and clean. Lots of attending staff. We were a large party, and they were able to accommodate us. We had so many dishes, and appetizers-too many to mention, but the pupuri's (Sp) were delicious, and the cocktails were very well made! I highly recommend this restaurant for it's delicious food and kind staff!

Tiramisu

General food and ambience is good. I liked the tawa pulao, paneer Tikka and Sichuan momos. But taking off one star for the dessert. We ordered the tiramisu, it looks pretty and has that enticing frozen rose crushing drama but just doesn't have the refined taste. The gulab jamun does not go well with the cake and the rose petals once crushed Don't add any taste to the dessert at all. In general they have tried to imitate the fine dining looks but taste doesn't match up to it. Service was good overall but they forgot to serve our momos before mains and we then decided to take it togo.

Went to Chutneys during winter break. This place is very nice ambience but when it gets crowded it's very noisy. Appetizers and Biryani are great and was quickly served but main course took lot of time. Service was bad so reducing the star .... Server brought the gravy without breads , and by the time bread came in gravy were cold :( They should really improve the service:

This restaurant has really good interior presentation and a friendly, welcoming staff. Their biryani was delicious and I really liked their roti as well. We had the paneer curry and I have had better. If you're feeling like a date night + Indian cuisine, this is a great spot for you. Parking is in the buildings lot and can be validated.

An upscale Indian restaurant in Bellevue downtown. I wouldn't call the flavor an authentic Indian flavor - the flavor definitely has been toned down to suit a more diverse palette. But what is incredible is they have kept the aroma and flavor of dishes intact without the requirement of much perceived spiciness. The presentation is top notch and this sets this place apart. The ambience of this place is also very good. The place is definitely popular given there were people still waiting in queue at 9PM on a cold Saturday evening and the restaurant is still jam packed.

Tasty food with beautiful presentations. I would come here again just to try all their appetizers.

Sizzling Paneer Tikka

Overall great presentation. They had dry ice, everything was pretty and picturesque. We ordered the high tea (we started with one and ended with 2, for 4 people, they say it serves 2-3 but I'd say if it's all you're ordering aim for it serving 1-2). We almost weren't able to order the second I'm guessing because of reservations and timing so just make the right call first. Now, the food is cute, but I was a bit disappointed it didn't have everything listed on the menu, they just have run out because instead of the vol a vent pastry, they had Mac and cheese bites and a mozzarella stick which is not what I expected. Similarly the dessert was off too compared to the menu. I'd rather they call out what you won't be getting as part of the menu. It's strange though because we got there just as they opened so I'm surprised they didn't have everything. I'll say because we still got a bit of room, we also ordered some snacks and the paneer tikka which was nice and smoky (a bit too spicy for my partner but I liked it). And my favorite was the papdi tacos, such a cool take on papdi chaat and the taco shell was yummy. That saved my feelings towards the place and I'm willing to come back to see if it'll get the star back.

A huge shoutout to Mr Sriram whose melodious voice made our dinner night extra special! Thank you for making us relive all our fav 70s 80s and 90s Bollywood songs! One extra star for him! The appetizers were amazing. Each and every one we had exceed the bar. Galouti kebab were in fact perfect melt in mouth and this is coming from a person who does not like mutton at all, lol. Chicken lollipop reminded me of Mumbai and it's really hard to get that level of Chinese food here. We also had the firecracker drink which was amazing! The main course was a bit disappointing after wonderful start. The Kolhapuri was very tomato-y and not authentic. It tasted good, but not what we were expecting. The desert - main dish rabdi panacotta was quite good, but the side accompaniments were just about ok. The Falooda noodles were way too bland Overall a nice experience for Friday night dinner. Highly recommend it!

Note: We had a reservation. Best is to reserve and visit. Parking with validation is available. Visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening around 7. This place is extremely clean and is a fine dining place. We were a party of 7 and were seated quickly. It is located in the heart of Downtown Bellevue. The food arrived pretty quickly after we ordered. The restaurant was pretty full by the time we went. We ordered Shikanji(5/5) -it was refreshing. Creamy Sweet Corn Soup(5/5) -it tasted very different from the other restaurants and was yumm. Schezwan momo(5/5)- it was extremely delicious. Drums of heaven(5/5)- had the perfect crunch and taste. Chicken matka biryani(4/5)- taste wise it was good. Chicken pieces had less spices and felt dry. The rice does not come with much masala. It might be a different style of making biryani. Kulfi Falooda (5/5)- this was one of best desserts i have tried. The highlight is they make it live in front of you which is bliss to watch. Highly recommend this place .

Has anyone tried the tandoori shrimp? Would you recommend or stick with the chicken?

In my opinion, the tandoori shrimp was just okay as an appetizer. It wasn't my initial preference, but the server recommended it, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I found it to be over-fried, and I couldn't discern much flavor from it.… Read more

We were hungry so we ordered quite a bit: Pani Puri shots, Mumbai crossroads, Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan. I'm pretty basic so I ordered the Tikka Masala and I loved it! We sat for about 10 minutes and had Cliff pour us water and walked away. He then stood in the corner where we were seated and ate what looked like a mango. We observed other servers taking care of their tables and being present but our server was not to be found. Cliff then appeared back with what looked like tea and stood and drank his tea. We again waited and this experience felt like a prank where there is a hidden camera, waiting for our next move. We were really ready to get up and leave. Slowest service ever. Finally cliff came and we ordered food. Food came out with 15min of ordering. Cod took a little longer. Cod and lamb chops were the best meal of the day. Cod was cooked in such a good gravy and very tasty and so was the lamb. We ordered a variety of naan which was a little chewy. Dessert was the sticky pudding which was very nice. Overall this place is pricey and tip is included so you can't except great service. I would go back here for drinks. But our experience today was awful. Maybe a more engaged server would have changed our experience for the better.

I'd say overall, the menu was a little pricey, but they've got some pretty unique offerings. Parking is pretty easy as it's a shared lot with crossroads. Malaiyo is effectively just textbook light, whipped cream with a ton of saffron. They definitely don't skimp on the saffron, so if you enjoy that floral, slightly herbal flavor, this will be the dessert for you. Jalebi Rabri came out piping hot and it's got a crunch that once you bite through, the sugar syrup just gushes out. It's definitely tasty, but it was SO sweet. I'd probably put in an order and share this with a group as more than one in a sitting might be a bit tough. Banarasi Lassi was just a little tart, creamy, and had a little bit of saffron swirled through. It had just a touch of the floral saffron flavor and the sliced almonds on top were a nice touch. It's definitely on the thicker side, so more of a spoon situation than a drink.
