I ordered paneer butter masala and grabbed a mango lassi from the fridge. I returned about 5 min later and it was ready for me! They do not ask for spice preference, and the things I have ordered all have mild heat (equivalent to 1-2 stars). This works great for me. The meals all come with rice, which is great. The food is definitely better for takeout, as the curry and rice were in different containers and it was a little awkward to try to eat it there. That said, it held up great and was a perfect meal on the couch! The ambiance in the food court is so so. Really depends on the time of day. Lots of crying babies there when we went, so we took it to go.

This was a Friday, so I was told the lunch specials were no longer valid. There attendant explained that it's only valid Monday-Thursday. I find that kind of lame, like it's the middle of the day on Friday c'mon. I got the Butter Chicken meal which was ok. The chicken was a bit dry, but the sauce was nice and creamy. About 2 servings. The meal also comes with Naan, it was 3 nice sized pieces. They were hot and tasted fresh. The presentation was nice as my expectations for food court food a slightly lower. Getting it "for here" over "to go" probably helped with that. I'd consider going again but definitely would try for a lunch special to save a few bucks.

Staff waited patiently and were generous with their recommendations and with their time. Food was great. We ordered 4 appetizers: spinach chaat, choti matar ki Kachori and aloo chaat and farreh. Spinach chaat was outstanding as was aloo chaat. Farreh is an acquired taste so if you like dry doughy textured appetizers then this one is for you. On the main course front: the sapkahita stood out. The lithi choka was a bit with some of us but a bit of a miss for me. I found it too spicy for my taste (but received fair warning from our server in advance). Dessert: 4.5 stars for the Jalebi. Cooked in ghee and made fresh and served warm with Rabri. It was so good, I took another serving to go! Definitely a place to go to f you're in the Seattle area!

I find this to be a running theme with one off family run businesses who have no experience or background in pricing. I honestly think they hate it when someone wants to eat in the restaurant. From a "server" who tossed plates and disposable flatware onto our table, to the "specials" that were the most expensive items on the menu, the place is not a warm or welcoming atmosphere for a lunch. The food tasted good but the health department warning on the door, indicating multiple serious cleanliness issues, makes me concerned for the potential aftermath. I'd advise against this establishment.

Superlative sambar and great masala dosa!…read more Sad to see the many negative reviews of this place from years past, because on our visit in May 2024 the masala dosa and sambar combo we got were expertly done, and the copious servings were so tasty that we asked to meet the kitchen chef. He had recently come from India after doing a course in hotel management and obviously knew his craft very well. What a shame that this restaurant has earned such bad reputation. We were the only in-house diners on a Sunday at brunch time when neighboring Indian restaurants were full of customers. Multiple chutneys, potato and pea masala inside the dosa, and especially the stellar sambar will definitely make me a repeat customer here. The variety of dosas is pleasing and they have a range of other tiffin style south Indian entrees. Sometimes going off the beaten track and outwitting the Yelp algorithms are beneficial. We had a nice warm chat with the chef and he gave us samples of other things he had made because we told him his sambar was superlative (it really was). Altogether we had a warm, homely, non-capitalistic dining experience in the sanitized corporatocracy that is Bellevue. This was a priceless experience.

You're in an old food court with people reading books they just bought from half priced books, there's a live band called the "Criminal Squirrel Orchestra" singing their experimental folk indie in matching hot pink tees thanking the audience for putting up with them after each song lol, and all the restaurants has that "Global Village Coffeehouse" aesthetic (look it up you'll know what I mean ). The old navy and Barnes and nobles have their old logo, there are middle aged artists and craftsman tabling their handmade pottery, quilted aprons, or homegrown beeswax, an extremely worn out play area with children running around, you can see people on computers at the library which is connected to the food court? and kids riding on those kiddie car rides that rock back and forth... everything was pure nostalgia and it's all preserved here in Bellevue. Anyways the food was amazing; I didn't know what half the menu items were but I trusted google reviews for this one and the portions and range of flavors did not disappoint. James at first was hesitant because it was all vegetarian but everything was so flavorful, had so many textures we didn't even think about craving meat. There is something for everyone at this food court and there's even a Dick's just beyond the parking lot.

Unfortunately, there was no option to specify the spice level for the paneer masala side dish, despite the restaurant description highlighting customizable spice levels as part of its offering. Because I have health-related dietary concerns, I called the restaurant immediately after placing the order to request a mild spice level. The staff member who answered was initially unable to locate my order, even after I spelled out the name multiple times, which significantly delayed the process. My husband later called and was able to get someone to find the order, but when I called back again to confirm the mild spice request, I was told it was too late to make any changes. I also had an earlier issue when I accidentally went to the wrong location and called for assistance. Rather than providing the Bellevue location's direct number or helping redirect me, I was placed on hold multiple times, which added to the inconvenience. While the food itself was excellent, the customer service and ordering experience were disappointing. Since the Yelp/ DoorDash ordering flow does not allow customers to specify spice preferences for certain items, I expected more flexibility and consideration when I called immediately after placing the order with a reasonable health-related request.
