Amulya Indian Kitchen is more of a homestyle Indian restaurant in Bellevue. I've been here twice so far, both times for their buffet, and the food has been impressive. The buffet offers a huge variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian dishes, plus a few Indo-Chinese items. I especially liked that they sometimes include snacks like Mysore Bonda or Punugulu, which you don't often find elsewhere. The food tastes very homemade, not overly oily or heavy with masala, which makes it comforting while still flavorful. Pricing is also very reasonable for the variety and quality you get. That said, the restaurant feels very casual and could improve in a few areas. The same people who cook in the kitchen often handle the cashier and occasionally take breaks in the dining area, which makes them less present for customers. The space can also feel a bit unhygienic and noisy at times, with kitchen conversations carrying into the dining area. It's not a polished or fancy spot, but if you're simply looking for a wide variety of homestyle Indian food at good value, it's worth a try.

Chilli Fish
Ho A.

We had the chilli fish, it was not flavorful and too sour. We have had much better one elsewhere. Our rating for this dish is 2/5 The biriyani is ok 4/5 The server or owner didn't quite understand us when we tried asking him questions and vice versa.

Came here on a weekend, before 2.5 hours of closing, meaning it was still the peak time. Most of the dishes were empty and remained empty for a long time. If you get seated in the back room, no one really checks on you for water or cleaning up the plates on your table. Also, it's the first buffet place where can't freely take silverware and napkins for yourself. You need to ask them every time you need them, and they hand you precisely 1 napkin per person, like it's a Covid shortage. The biryani was just rice, with nothing in it. Forget about meat, we could barely see any onion or much seasoning in it. The curries felt very muted, felt even milder than North Indian food. Hey Amulya folks, please check out Curry Point's buffet to see how they handle all the above, including the variety of food to include breakfast items, Indian pizza, delicious biryani with tons of meat, and overall superior quality of food all around. Their pricing is the same $19 as well. This place needs a lot of changes before it can compete with the better ones in the same area.

Not great food. Not good environment. There was buffet and I tried different dishes. None of them was good. Many were too salty. The buffet was disorganized. The names of the dishes were written on a chit of paper. There were kids running around. People would bring the used plates and serve themselves in them. This is not restaurant's fault; but I am describing the environment. Not again

Butter Naan
Poojitha a.

We tried the Loose Babycorn, it tasted really good. Then we ordered Butter Naan, it was more like bread made from maida we thought it was a tandoori Naan and confirmed again as we didn't expect the butter naan to be like that. We also had Sag Paneer and it came with a bowl of rice, it was okay but a bit pricey. Service and Ambiance was good. I Think it's better to go for a buffet rather than ordering separately. They have lunch buffet daily. Lunch and Dinner buffets on Friday and Saturdays. Overall, i would rate: Loose Babycorn: 4/5 Butter Naan: 2.5/5 Sag Paneer: 3/5

This place is relatively new - I believe opened around September of 2023. Very good food. Ambience is about average. Service is also decent. Highly recommend their Mirchi cut. Samosa and Chicken chili were also nice. The give generous quantity of tea - I would share that between two people. I plan to go back here to try some south Indian cuisines.

Buffet

Food is really good . Restaurant is filled with tables, no proper service, mostly mis manage place

Amulya Indian Cuisine serves a delicious buffet of Indian dishes, not only for lunch, but for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. It's a great addition to Bellevue as many of the Indian restaurants no longer offer a buffet post-COVID. My partner and I love Indian food, especially buffets because we like to try different items. I especially love spicy south Indian curries, which Amulya offers, in addition to classic northern Indian items. The buffet is not the largest in variety, but offers plenty and is fulfilling. The must-eat item is the pepper chicken! I loved the pepper chicken and so did everyone else as they had to cook more and refill the buffet of it. The pepper chicken is tender, very flavorful with pepper and has a nice crunch to it. Do not leave Amulya without trying the pepper chicken! Another item I enjoyed was the mutton curry, which was on the spicier side. Just be careful of the bones. The chutneys were all very good, and I liked that the chai here does not have sugar in it. (Chai is so good on its own that it astounds me why anyone would want to add sugar in it.) They make the naan fresh for each table and you can ask for more to be made. We visited on a Friday night and the place was pretty busy, with many patrons dining in. The staff was friendly and many of the staff here cleared tables, refilled waters, checked in with customers, refilled buffet items, etc. The service is top notch. Fridays and Saturday nights are when they offer a buffet dinner and lunch is offered on a daily basis. The buffet is $20 for adults. Amulya's is located in the same business strip as Baskin Robbins and Wibbley's, next to Harley Davidson in Bellevue. Parking is plenty and it's easy to find. I'm glad we were able to check out this new Indian restaurant, which has a lot of positives going for it. I'd happily dine here again.

Well...it is now 24 hours later, and my son who ate the mixed grill plate...has food poisoning :( I am heart broken for him! He had never had food poisoning. The worst part of all of this...nobody in our party was surprised. The fish...the beef...the mixed grill...UGH... I will be contacting the health department tomorrow.

I ordered paneer butter masala and grabbed a mango lassi from the fridge. I returned about 5 min later and it was ready for me! They do not ask for spice preference, and the things I have ordered all have mild heat (equivalent to 1-2 stars). This works great for me. The meals all come with rice, which is great. The food is definitely better for takeout, as the curry and rice were in different containers and it was a little awkward to try to eat it there. That said, it held up great and was a perfect meal on the couch! The ambiance in the food court is so so. Really depends on the time of day. Lots of crying babies there when we went, so we took it to go.

This was a Friday, so I was told the lunch specials were no longer valid. There attendant explained that it's only valid Monday-Thursday. I find that kind of lame, like it's the middle of the day on Friday c'mon. I got the Butter Chicken meal which was ok. The chicken was a bit dry, but the sauce was nice and creamy. About 2 servings. The meal also comes with Naan, it was 3 nice sized pieces. They were hot and tasted fresh. The presentation was nice as my expectations for food court food a slightly lower. Getting it "for here" over "to go" probably helped with that. I'd consider going again but definitely would try for a lunch special to save a few bucks.

I'd say overall, the menu was a little pricey, but they've got some pretty unique offerings. Parking is pretty easy as it's a shared lot with crossroads. Malaiyo is effectively just textbook light, whipped cream with a ton of saffron. They definitely don't skimp on the saffron, so if you enjoy that floral, slightly herbal flavor, this will be the dessert for you. Jalebi Rabri came out piping hot and it's got a crunch that once you bite through, the sugar syrup just gushes out. It's definitely tasty, but it was SO sweet. I'd probably put in an order and share this with a group as more than one in a sitting might be a bit tough. Banarasi Lassi was just a little tart, creamy, and had a little bit of saffron swirled through. It had just a touch of the floral saffron flavor and the sliced almonds on top were a nice touch. It's definitely on the thicker side, so more of a spoon situation than a drink.

Unfortunately, there was no option to specify the spice level for the paneer masala side dish, despite the restaurant description highlighting customizable spice levels as part of its offering. Because I have health-related dietary concerns, I called the restaurant immediately after placing the order to request a mild spice level. The staff member who answered was initially unable to locate my order, even after I spelled out the name multiple times, which significantly delayed the process. My husband later called and was able to get someone to find the order, but when I called back again to confirm the mild spice request, I was told it was too late to make any changes. I also had an earlier issue when I accidentally went to the wrong location and called for assistance. Rather than providing the Bellevue location's direct number or helping redirect me, I was placed on hold multiple times, which added to the inconvenience. While the food itself was excellent, the customer service and ordering experience were disappointing. Since the Yelp/ DoorDash ordering flow does not allow customers to specify spice preferences for certain items, I expected more flexibility and consideration when I called immediately after placing the order with a reasonable health-related request.
