We were lucky enough to reserve a table for two on Saturday evening. Our table was ready when we arrived, and we were seated right away. The thali was presented in a wonderfully traditional manner, which immediately set the tone for the experience. There were 16 different items, and everything tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. The stars of the meal for me were the Bajri Raab and the Ghewar--both absolutely outstanding. The service was courteous, and we thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. A couple of suggestions for improvement: when the thali is served, it would be helpful if the person presenting it could briefly explain each dish and perhaps suggest how certain items are traditionally paired or eaten. That would make the experience even more immersive, especially for those unfamiliar with Rajasthani cuisine. Also, the plate felt a bit small for the number of ramekins. There was very little room left for the rice, and the chutney and pickle kept sliding underneath the ramekins, making things a bit messy. A slightly larger plate would make the meal much more comfortable to enjoy. Finally, please continue hosting thali festivals featuring cuisines from different regions of India. That's a fantastic concept, and we'd love to return for more regional culinary experiences. read more

Went there for Mother's Day dinner and tried some items on the menu. The place has a nice ambiance and the food is good but nothing memorable. Service was a bit hit and miss and hence 3 stars not 4. We ordered nadru, panj puri and Rajma kebabs as starters. Nadru was good but others were okay. For main course we ordered lababdar paneer and jackfruit curry. Paneer was good, jackfruit was okay. Service was spotty, one of the glasses leaked water on our table but nobody came to wipe it off. Our bread order came out in parts. 1 person was eating first while others were waiting for bread to come out. Overall, okay place if you are in the area and want to try some Indian food. read more

My friend's coworker recommended Jashn so we decided to check it out for dinner. Jashn is located at Redmond Town Center with plenty of parking right outside. We made reservations for 6pm on a Saturday night but the restaurant was actually pretty empty when we got there. It definitely filled up by 6:30pm though and there were a few parties waiting by the door by the time we left so I'd recommend making reservations if you can. The ambiance was nice, the food was good and the service was very attentive. We tried the palak patta chaat, garlic naan, Butter Chicken, Fish Molly and a side of rice. Everything was really good! We appreciated the friendly service too but halfway through our meal we started to feel rushed to leave even though we had only been there for maybe an hour at that point? I understand there were people waiting but we were still actively eating our dinner. That was the only complaint for the night. We visited this restaurant for Valentine's Day dinner with my husband and our 2.5-year-old. We were seated at a large corner table in the very back (likely meant for bigger parties). At first I felt disappointed because there was live music for the Valentine's special and we couldn't see it from our table. However, I later realized it actually worked out well. We could still hear the music while avoiding the crowd and noise near the stage, and we were able to comfortably have conversations. The food was delicious overall and really stood out. We started with Pyaar Ka Tofa (strawberry appetizer), which I was skeptical about, but it turned out to be surprisingly good and unique. The Valentine's special stuffed paneer appetizer was excellent -- they should absolutely add it to their regular menu. For drinks, we tried the Mango Aamsutra and Spicy Chilli Guava. The mango was okay but a bit too sweet for my taste. The guava drink, however, was amazing with a strong chili kick -- highly recommend. For entrées, we ordered Lasooni Palak Burrata, Kathal Champaran, rumali roti, and naan. Everything was fantastic. The Champaran may not taste exactly like traditional Champaran style, but it was still very flavorful and enjoyable. The Lasooni Palak Burrata was out of this world -- a must-order. The rumali roti was soft and fresh. Unfortunately, dessert was the low point of the evening. The Valentine's special chocolate cake was the worst chocolate cake we've had -- extremely hard and difficult to even cut with a spoon. We informed our server, who offered to take it back, but we were already full and declined. Overall, the food and ambience were wonderful and made for a lovely evening. One area for improvement: when we received the check, the server stood very close and watched while we selected the tip, which felt awkward and uncomfortable. While the food taste was good, the service was painfully slow. The ambience was nice and because it's at RTC parking was easy at night when I went. Drinks were painfully slow to come out and were the wrong recipe for what was ordered. A pineapple in an espresso martini? A purple Old Fashioned in a martini glass? Drinks were super sweet as well. The staff seemed a bit confused and overwhelmed serving our large table, and territorial (only this guy can take drink orders, and only this person for food orders). Some food orders were delivered to the wrong spot without a matching owner and some orders were simply forgotten. The staff was nice and probably address these issues with experience and feedback, so I hope they do. Perhaps the staff should eat at Clove or Farzi to get a better example of where they need to be. read more

Dark, upbeat music. Dishes are beautifully presented. Service is great - quick, friendly. I felt like we had five waiters! Now for the food: the naan was OK, it is thinner than I'm used to and tasted more like thin pizza crust than the naan I've had in the past - I think I'll try the rotti next time! I REALLY love the butter chicken. The chicken was cut up into more bite-size pieces, which really appealed to me. The flavors were delicious. Went here with a couple of friends for dinner and they had great Indian food. They have ample seating and the service was good too. The floors however was really slippery for some reason. Coming to the food, the Chandini Chowk Chuska was very fancy - a take on Dahi puri with their own twist. We all loved it. The chaas was thick, and tasted yumm. It was really fresh too. I'm not a huge fan of soya chaap in general but this was pretty good. The lasooni palak buratta was surprisingly my favorite. It was so well seasoned and tasted absolutely delicious with the garlic naan. And, we also tried the gulab jamun cheesecake and it was really delicious too. The best part of the meal were the finger bowls. I've never seen finger bowls anywhere else in the US! read more

We started off with thecha Chicken, vada pav and soya chaap for appetizers Thecha chicken had the perfect spicy kick and it was well seasoned. vada pav was ok.. for me and soya chaap was not bad but just didn't stand out for me. I must say, the vibe of this restaurant is undeniably modern stylish enough that you actually feel inclined to dress up, which is refreshing given how few places in Seattle offer that experience, especially with the weather we usually get. We started with a chaat - dahi bhalla served in a kachori. While the concept seemed ambitious, the presentation felt forced and didn't complement the dish at all. I'm not quite sure what they were aiming for, but the overall result was underwhelming, and the chaat itself was just average. Next, we ordered the Paneer Lababdar with garlic naan after confirming with the staff that it was the spiciest paneer option on the menu. Unfortunately, it wasn't spicy in the slightest. The dish leaned heavily toward an americanized version of Indian cuisine acceptable, but nothing memorable and once again, the presentation didn't enhance the flavors. Service was also confusing. Multiple servers approached our table repeatedly to ask the same questions, and when we requested boxes after finishing our meal, three different staff members came by. We ended up asking for boxes three or four times, and even when they arrived, there was uncertainty about how many we actually needed. Overall, it was a decent but thoroughly average meal, and I don't see myself returning. If I'm in the mood for chaat, I'd much rather go to Chaat House. read more

It was an unplanned date night at Jashn, and it turned out to be such a delightful experience! The ambience is warm and inviting, and the staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable. The food was so delicious that we completely forgot to take pictures of the dishes we tried! We ordered the Lucknowi Katori Chaat, Aloo Kulcha served with chole, Lucknowi Butter Chicken, Roomali Roti, Tandoori Naan, Mango Shikanji, and Shahi Lassi. Everything was absolutely flavorful and satisfying. The Shahi Mango Lassi was just okay for us, but the rest of the items were outstanding. What truly impressed me was that after we finished our meal, they served us a finger bowl. That's something very common in India but not so common here, and I absolutely loved that thoughtful touch. Soya chaap was dried too so I had called server and then they prepared it again which was much better then first time served. My son and husband tried galuti kebab and it was very good also their mutton champaran was flavorful. For main course I also tried Lithi chokha and it was delicious . This place has already been split between our Indian friends - some recommend it, while others just laugh. We enjoyed our first time there early Saturday evening around opening. Tons of good food, fairly priced, and we benefited from great recommendations. They do seem to be adapting quickly to various feedback elements in social media, etc. For example, a number of complaints we heard before making reservations were tied to the music being way too loud. This is a truly authentic North Indian restaurant with flavorful food and attentive service. The service is prompt, but be prepared for longer wait times due to the smaller space and frequent crowd. Their drinks are beautifully presented -- often more enjoyable to watch than to drink -- but there's some inconsistency: they occasionally forget to serve the nuts that are supposed to come with them. I've visited three times in the past two weeks, and while the experience is generally good, consistency in drink presentation and accompaniments is hit or miss. A must-try starter is the Stem Root (Nadru) -- highly recommended! The overall food quality is excellent and makes up for the minor service lapses. Do note: for parties of 6 or more, they automatically add a 22% gratuity, which feels a bit steep. Parking is easy, but they do take a $10 per person deposit when you reserve a table, which goes toward your bill. read more

I loved that there were different things on the menu like the lotus stem, jackfruit and other items. Great cocktails and desserts. I loved the paan. One of the best I've had. Fun presentation. Loved the finger bowls too - a great touch. The restaurant was super cold though and that was not great. They need to fix their heating system. Went to Jashn on 4th of July for dinner. First thing first - interior is upscale, they have put a lot of thought into it and upped the restaurant game in the Greater Seattle area. Totally impressive and 5/5 ratings to them. Staff all of them are very kind and soft spoken. They were paying a lot of attention to their guests and making sure we were comfortable. Their food recommendation was great. Menu is not the kind that will confuse you with like 10 different options of paneer. It's a concise and classy menu. We started with drinks. My husband tried the nawab drink which was very interesting similar to whiskey sour and he enjoyed it a lot. It came with cashews which is impressive. I tried their pomegranate fizz mocktail which wasn't on movie but a special that night and I enjoyed my drink too. We were welcomed with complimentary fryums. For appetizers we tried their soya chaap and malai broccoli and both were well prepped and yummy. Don't order them together because they both are creamy appetizers. In the main course we stuck to one entree and garlic naan and tandoori roti. Malai kofta was delicious and satisfying. And for the first time we got finger bowl to wash our hands in the US. Noor was my server during lunch and he was outstanding. My friend and I were able to try some new dishes and some we knew we would love, and all were delicious . The atmosphere and presentation really set it apart. If you sit inside, it's dark and ambient and you can just disconnect from your day from a bit and really experience the meal in front of you. Food comes out on beautiful dishes, with dry ice flourishes and with a lot of decorative elements. Cocktails : Very Poor - Colorful and comes with dry ice smoke for wow factor, but the tastes were horrible. We tried a few of them and no one liked any of them. Barman needs to be changed Presentation & Ambience : Good Starters : Good, but very small quantity Main Dishes : Average, nothing special,Typical greasy heavy gravies. No fusion as it was intended to be. Service : Poor, the waiter just left the drinks on tray and said please take as we are busy. Was awakward with clients and they said they are too unbothered. No smiles or positive gestures from any server. Tea : Poor, comes in expensive cups, but the tea was stale as if made in morning and stored, quite horrible. Cost : Very high, the bill came $600 and they added mandatory 18% gratuity which is typically reservered for 6 or more people. Net net : Thumbs down read more

Our meal at Jashn was an absolute delight. Every dish was delicious, artfully prepared, and the presentation was outstanding. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, and the staff were very kind and attentive. It was just myself and a friend, so we only could eat so much, I wish we had a group to order more dishes, I can only imagine they are all out of this world. We had the Dilli Aloo Kulcha, Lasooni Palak Burrata, Jashn-E-Murgh Seekh Korma, and Kunfa w/ Gajar Halwa for dessert. My only little complaint and recommendation is to switch to unscented spray cleanser to clean the tables between guests. A couple tables turned over in our time there and the scent of the cleanser was horrendous, we had to stop eating until it dissipated each time as it was a complete sensory overload and momentarily ruined the experience. Still not taking a star though, the food is just that good! We were lucky on a Tuesday night at 6pm that we easily got a table, I suspect it won't be long before even weeknights are reservation only. read more
