Bhojan Xpress - Soggy Cold Masala Dosa - Indian Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

I had the ghee roast dosa and filter coffee and it was quite good. Friends had Idly/ Masala Dosa etc and they liked it too. Not too spicy.

We checked in at our hotel, scanned the neighborhood, and selected Bhojan Xpress for lunch and now we are guaranteed nothing will go wrong because this somewhat random choice led to one of the best lunches ever! First, be sure to ask about samosas because they might not be listed on the menu. We asked, they had them, and they were delicious!! Next, you can order your entree with rice or bread. We tried one of each, which worked great for sharing. This is vegetarian restaurant and the food is full of flavor. We tried 2 paneers and a korma and they were all amazing. Lassi is available in at least 6 flavors, I tried the peach and highly recommend adding this to your order. YUM YUM YUM! read more

Bhojan Xpress - Not the best photo because I'd already been eating but everything here was DELICIOUS - Indian Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

Portion too small (of a take away place) but price similar to Indian restaurant. But the food was burnt and I have to find another place. read more

I came here with my brother for lunch on a Saturday, and it was not super busy which was nice. We each ordered entrees, a mango lassi, and a dosa to share. Pricing was a bit high (I think we spent about $70 incl tip), but the taste is worth it and the location probably affected price too. Entree: The curries they had were pretty good. Portion size for this was a bit on the smaller side, but i really like having the option of 2 different curries instead of just 1. Cheese dosa: this dosa was amazing. The dosa was massive, and it had a ton of melted cheese inside. The dipping sauces they served with it were fantastic. Definitely recommend sharing one of these when you go or just getting it as an entree for yourself. Mango lassi: no joke, this place has the best mango lassi I've ever had. It was perfectly smooth and sweet, and they give you a lot for the price. At a lot of other places, it sucks because they don't give you much, but Bhojan Express gave us each a big cup of lassi that was the perfect complement to our meal. Overall, I definitely think that Bhojan Express is worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

We tried masala dosa and sambar vada and the food was decent. The service was fast but its a small place with not many tables to sit. Its a good south indian place that you could try. read more

Was walking by the area on a cold afternoon and thought I'll have something warm. It's the worst filter coffee I've tasted. Not sure if it was even made of coffee powder. I heard the microwave beep and had my suspicion on how good the coffee was going to be - turned out to be way more terrible than one can imagine. Dumped all of it after 2 sips. Never going back again. read more

This is a Togo order. Bhojan express was named for its quality. It's so bad I called the restaurant and advised them not to provide this kind of food for customers. My request to people to check your Togo orders before you leave. The roti was uncooked. There is no taste, no thickness, runny curry on both paneer butter masala and saag paneer. See for urself on the photo. Very disappointed. I will not eat this to end up in a hospital. Please be responsible when you run a food business. Value the money that customers pay. Bhojan Xpress - Veg Combo order - Indian Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

Service was really prompt and good. They heartily offer extra chole, Sambar, etc. Food is okay, not great- worth trying out though. I liked the unique avakkaya biryani, dosas were good and the peanut chutney accompaniment was tasty. Sambar is extremely spicy (even for a spice lover like me). Idlis were too hard, so lots of room to improve. Best to try their freshly made dosas read more

I was HYPED to try this place after reading the reviews and wanted it to be good so badly. But tbh the paneer was hard/stale for the chili plate? The gulab jamun didn't seem fresh and the curries were so small for the price . Might have to go with chutney lunch over this . I may be back to try the butter chicken because the flavor for the curry was good. FYI they are only serving vegetarian! read more

Bhojan Xpress - Chilli Paneer - Indian Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

Yummers! Never have I ever thought I'd be so into vegetarian place.. but alas it has happened! And this was it. Food so tasty, I love the veggies. Mama be so proud! They have all kinds of fritters, bread, dosas, curries and even some Indo-Chinese food which I have yet to try. Ordering through DoorDash usually is a breeze here. Phone orders tend to take forever longer than quoted time. Even DoorDash too since they get so busy here. Food I like so far! Aloo tikis - spicy potato cakes/ patties! Come with delicious sauces and a ton of chopped onions. Green Chillis grounded inside potatoes. It's hot! Malabar paratha/ layers! Saag paneer: tasty Sambar: it comes with combo bread option. I like the tangy taste . Chickpea vada: crispy fried and super crunchy and filling. Comes with coconut green sauce. I've tried their curries and bread. But the appetizers/ snacks are a winner. Especially the fried ones. Sometimes it takes a while ( 1 hour plus wait) for take out. But if you use delivery apps, it can be faster. But food is good either way! All vegetarian! read more

I got punugulu and rice combo for a lunch here. Punugulu was vada balls, instead- first of a kind cutting corners; quite disappointing item. Rice combo of lemon and tomato rice was very oily but lemon rice tasted alright. I didn't get the fryums in the take out as was mentioned on the menu. I have had their curries before and they were significantly better than the recent meal shared above. read more

Bhojan Xpress is located in a very busy strip mall in downtown Bellevue, so be prepared to fight for a parking spot with the Facing East, Boiling Point, and other tenant customers! Lucky for me, it was a short walk from my office, and I checked out this spot at lunch. You order at the counter, and the staff will prepare your meal from the pre-cooked curry dishes on display. The food goes in a high quality microwaveable plastic tupperwear container and the signage around the spot indicates it's popular for takeout and delivery. There are only a few small tables inside and two tables outside, so I would not recommend going in a large group. I felt like the inside felt too stuffy, so I sat outside by the parking lot. The food itself was good. They don't ask for level of spice, but I found the saag paneer to have a bit of a bite to it and the butter chicken to be extremely mild. With most curry dishes, I expect more sauce than meat, but there were only a few small pieces of chicken in my scoop, so that was disappointing. The saag paneer was okay but pretty liquidy. I enjoyed the garlic naan on the side with these dishes. Good lunch spot for quick Indian food, and they have a 10% discount for Yelp check-ins. read more

C'mon Yelp, give us half stars! I'd give this place a solid 3.5 stars... good but not spectacular. We got some takeout and the food was nicely packaged and good but not particularly memorable. The naan was very good and the food was reasonably priced with decent portions. My favorite Indian place remains to be Saffron Grill in Seattle. read more

Horrible -- took 40 mins to get a dosa and it was inedible - was clear that the griddle was not hot and dosa was white and soaked in oil.. when I pointed this out they said this is how it is... both my husband and I felt sick after eating there .. will never go again read more

I felt so sorry for the woman at the counter. She was taking orders over the phone, taking walk in orders and plating the food! Many people in the back but no one came up to help her.... Stop your searching and go straight to Bhojan. Friendly service, generous portions & delicious Indian food. We grabbed a rice combo with chicken tikka masala and chana masala and an order of samosas. This was plenty of food for 2 people to feel comfortably full. The only reason I wish we order two combos is so I didn't have to share! Very clean flavors and simple. Some of the best garlic naan we've ever had. Everything was lovely and warm and we took it back to our car to eat. They make their samosas fresh so It was piping hot when it cracked into them. A lot of times when I eat Indian it can leave me feeling too full and blah. Not Bhojan!! read more

I ordered delivery from here and am so glad I tried it! I ordered the butter chicken combo, which came with basmati rice and naan. The portion didn't look very large at first but it was huge and made for a few meals! The naan was fresh and warm when I received it and a HUGE portion. The butter chicken was flavorful and creamy and filling. I've passed by this place before in Bellevue but never stopped in, so I'm glad I finally decided to try it. read more

Bhojan Xpress - Butter chicken and naan - Indian Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

Tucked in the strip mall same as boiling point, they offer a huge variety of menu items. Also talk about xpresss!!All their food as promised came out within 20 minutes which is pretty impressive for how much different items they had to make. Wait time is definitely less than other competitors in the area They have all our usual favorites, chicken 65, biryani, dosa, garlic naan! I think their best items was the chilli paneer and the rice of the biryani. Chicken pieces in biryani were a bit dry for my taste but the raita helped. Overall the price is average and their portions are big! Would definitely want to come and try out their sets sometime around. They have a variety of them like curry, dosa, or even appetizer sets! read more

I was expecting Kanishka Express when I went here to get takeout but saw the sign for Bhojan Xpress once I arrived. I was really bummed to find out that it was now Bhojan Xpress, learning that Kanishka Express is no longer. But once I got closer to the shop, I saw little change from when it was Kanishka Express, so decided to step in and check it out. I mean, everything seriously looks the same from before. Everything. When I asked the employee what had happened to Kanisha Express, he told me that the family sold their business, but Bhojan Xpress kept the same menu and recipes! YES! I ordered the two non-vegetarian combination for $11.99, with the Lamb Vindaloo and Butter Chicken. When the employee started to ask me about spice level, I asked him if he was just gonna give me the food from the counter, so didn't know why he was customizing my order. But he said that he could make it fresh since the food was sitting out all day. AWESOME! And just like when I had the two non-veggie combo when it was Kanishka Express, it also came with my choice of bread and dal. But this time, I was able to get it with brown rice instead of the standard basmati. Bhojan Xpress, I'm glad you kept the same food while also making improvements to what was already awesome! I foresee many, many visits for takeout here. If you love Indian food and just wanna get takeout, come to Bhojan Xpress! They have your classic Indian dishes like Butter Chicken and Tandoori, but have rotating specials, like the Lamb Vindaloo. In fact, from my takeout, the Lamb Vindaloo was by far my favorite of the two entrees, as the lamb was boneless, tender and spicy! If you see it here, order it! But you really can't go wrong with the food here. Best takeout in Bellevue! read more

This is our first time here and we ordered Chicken Biryani! Oh man! It's by far, in a long time, best Biryani we ever had! Some amazing things about this Biryani- chicken is boneless(we prefer that), mildly spiced, not overpowered by khada garam masala( whole garam masala) and the best part- very flavorful! Also, from price point- its$13.19 with tax, and man the portion size for that price is good! Loved it ! I am definitely going back for more! Couldn't keep my hands off Biryani so no pictures this time! for the chef who made it! read more

Located in a busy plaza. All dishes here are good, we get lunch/dinner at a regular basis. Their tea is my favorite. They do not compost, are not very environmentally friendly. Use of styrofoam is very prevalent. Parking can be a little difficult during peak times. Great for takeout dinners, not suitable for large families to dine in. read more

Was putting up wallpaper in a studio, for anybody that had put up wallpaper, it's a pain in the ass. In the meantime of following instructions to let the wall paper lay flat on the floor before installing, we went on a food hunt for places to eat nearby. Saw photos of Indian food in bento boxes looking trays so decided this was the spot. Right now, they do not offer any meat options because of covid, it was fine since I like vegetarian food anyways. Great thing about Indian food, it's so packed with spices that it holds up pretty well even when ordering as take out. I mean, the strong smell isn't going to leave until you shower, but that's the price you pay for flavor and authenticity. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:) read more

This is more of a take out place than a "eat here" place. We were in the area and I had read some reviews so decided to check this place out. They have some really great vegetarian options!! The folks that own/ manage thus place are really nice! While we waited for our order we were given some rasam (soup) to drink. We got the biryani but unfortunately it wasn't good. However in their defense biryani is not something that most restaurants can easily get right. Wish I had ordered one of the other things on the menu. Overall good place to have some Indian food. read more

The best Indo Chinese noodles I have had in Washington!! They have very good vegetarian options. We have ordered the Indo Chinese combo with Hakka noodles and chili mushroom which is the best we have had in Washington. We also ordered the rice combo with paneer tikka masala and bhindi masala. The paneer was good but bhindi masala was excellent and perfectly spiced. Their dal tadka is good too. It's a small space mainly for takeout but they also have 2 sets of tables if you want to dine in. In all, really good wholesome Indian food and never disappoints. read more

I'm super disappointed. I got the pav bhaji. Never in my life have I had pav bhaji that is sweet and has paneer in it. Just a disgrace to the classic pav bhaji- the simple melody of veggies. I don't understand how you can go so wrong with that dish. I'm baffled. The pav was also stale and crumbling. They also microwaved the food and gave it to me. They probably didn't have pav bhaji and instead of losing a sale, they just gave me another Indian dish that's similar. read more

Bhojan Xpress was the catering partner for a concert in the local area. They had a limited menu but it looked delicious and I was famished. They had chai, mango lassi, samosas plus veg and non-veg biryani. We tried their samosas served with the 2 chutneys.4/5 rating. While it was not super crispy from the outside, the filling was pretty good. The chutneys were excellent. The overall rating was however impacted due to their chicken biryani. This is a joke, flavorless not even sure if its made with basmati rice. The chicken pieces looked sad. Funny enough, the 'salaan' which is a spicy peanut sauce to be eaten with the biryani tasted much better than the biryani which is sad. Their customer service is great which is a reason for me to give them a second chance. I might try entrees recommended by other Yelpers! not called "biryani". read more

I tried the parathas and 2 entree combo with butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The parathas were alright, though a little tough on the edges which made them seem less fresh. The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were both a little disappointing, overly salty and not much meat. I definitely felt dehydrated from this food the next day. The best part was the garlic naan, which was large and tasted very fresh. Overall, just ok and probably wouldn't order again. read more

First time going there to get take out and immediately noticed the lady at the front not wearing any face covering at all. Not even trying to fake it with a mask around her neck.
