    Puri with chicken curry
    Khushbu P.

This place opened last week and we went there on the weekend. They have a huge menu. We had ordered their popular babai dosa, puri with chicken curry and cheese dosa. Food was very average. The quantity of sambhar was too little.i personally did not like the chutney. I think they should have started with a limited menu and just focus on that instead of offering so many things right away. The owner came and apologized for the delay. He told us that they got more people than expected. . I understand that when it's a new setup it takes sometime so good luck to them for that! But will I visit again? May be not!!

    Tandoori Chicken Mandi

Came here for dinner and had the tandoori chicken mandi and mango lassi and it was delicious. The chicken was well seasoned and tender and good portion sized. Great to share for 2 people. Met the owner and he was also super nice! Highly recommend folks come check this place out.

They keep their kitchen pans out by the dumpsters. Eat here at your own risk.

Eat here at your own risk. Their kitchen has expanded out to the dumpster area. That's pretty gross and unsanitary.

I have been to Kanishka several times over the last few years, and I've been pretty disappointed by…read morethe repeated instances of poor service. The food is usually delicious, and the service is usually fine, but there always seems to be something that throws off our dining experience here. For example, we dined in last Sunday for dinner, and were promptly seated. We ordered the garlic naan to share, and our vegetarian friend ordered the Paneer Makhni. However, when the dish arrived, she took a bite and discovered that there were chicken pieces inside, and when we alerted the server, we didn't even receive an apology. They took away her plate, which had some rice and garlic naan, and gave her a new plate with a new order of the Paneer Makhni, and did not replace the rice and garlic naan that was lost due to their mistake. I feel that giving a vegetarian or vegan person a dish with meat is a huge mistake, and I was very disappointed by the lack of an apology and the lack of an effort to make things right. On the happy side, the garlic naan was tasty, and I personally ordered a chicken kabob dish that was covered in sauce, which was phenomenal. Another example is that for 3 or 4 visits, we interacted with the same server. He always greeted us with "ni hao" even though we are not Chinese. Even worse, on multiple occasions, after we paid for the food with credit card, he would make up some lie about how the card reader was broken for the tip portion, and he would ask for a cash tip that he pocketed. We've never had this issue with any other server, and I've even seen this guy tell other groups the same lie about the card reader not working for the tip portion, even though it worked fine for the main payment. In summary, although Kanishka seems to have some food quality control issues, the food is delicious, and the service can be a wide range from very poor to good.

The thali was presented in a wonderfully traditional manner, which immediately set the tone for the experience. There were 16 different items, and everything tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. The stars of the meal for me were the Bajri Raab and the Ghewar--both absolutely outstanding. The service was courteous, and we thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. A couple of suggestions for improvement: when the thali is served, it would be helpful if the person presenting it could briefly explain each dish and perhaps suggest how certain items are traditionally paired or eaten. That would make the experience even more immersive, especially for those unfamiliar with Rajasthani cuisine. Also, the plate felt a bit small for the number of ramekins. There was very little room left for the rice, and the chutney and pickle kept sliding underneath the ramekins, making things a bit messy. A slightly larger plate would make the meal much more comfortable to enjoy. Finally, please continue hosting thali festivals featuring cuisines from different regions of India. That's a fantastic concept, and we'd love to return for more regional culinary experiences.

Service was a bit hit and miss and hence 3 stars not 4. We ordered nadru, panj puri and Rajma kebabs as starters. Nadru was good but others were okay. For main course we ordered lababdar paneer and jackfruit curry. Paneer was good, jackfruit was okay. Service was spotty, one of the glasses leaked water on our table but nobody came to wipe it off. Our bread order came out in parts. 1 person was eating first while others were waiting for bread to come out. Overall, okay place if you are in the area and want to try some Indian food.

It wasn't too spicy, and my kid liked that the pav had a nice crisp exterior. Misal Pav - Not the traditional version with misal, tari, and farsan, but still a decent dish overall. Rawa Batata Tikki Chaat - A bit sweeter than I prefer, but still enjoyable. Next time, I'll ask for a spicier version. Chili Paneer - This one hit the mark. We ordered it at a 4/4 spice level, and it delivered both heat and flavour Veg Hakka Noodles - One of my favorites of the night. We chose a 3/4 spice level, and it paired really well with the chili paneer. The noodles were slightly dry, but the taste made up for it Mocktail - The only miss for us. It was a lemonade with blue syrup (I forgot the exact name), but it was overly sweet. Service - We arrived around 9 PM, and although the restaurant was about half empty, we were still asked to wait for seating. The servers also forgot to bring dinner plates, so we ended up using appetizer plates for our entrées. Overall - The food was enjoyable, and we'll definitely return for the flavors. The service, however, could benefit from more training, guidance, and attention.

The lamb shank was rich, tender, and packed with flavor (a little spicy, but that's on me--I'm a wimp ). The real surprise standout was the taza hara bhara salad--so fresh, vibrant, and flavorful, it balanced the meal beautifully. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food here. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes.

Nihari was meh, not great but it didnt have that taste of nihari or look. Naans were good, soft and fluffy , this place cut it into 4 pieces. Then for dessert i got gulab jamun and Chai. Gulab jamun presentation was fancy and had 3 pieces. And chai was a normal cup coulda been cooked a bit longer with milk . Gulab jamun was good, no complaints Idk if its a seattle thing, but everything is REALLY PRICEY up here. Chai one cup for 5.99 is just mindblowing. Maybe its how it is up here im not sure, but yes i hope this place improves on the nihari,

We grabbed the Rajma Chawal and Chole Bhature for mains, they were decent enough to hit the spot. The snacks were where it got a little tricky. The ambience was pleasant and lively, which set a nice tone for the meal. We started with the Kachori Chaat, which unfortunately was just average - not bad, but nothing memorable either. Next came the Butti Ka Murg, and this completely changed the experience. The chicken was juicy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Easily the standout dish of the night - absolutely delicious. The Amritsari Kulcha was also excellent, with great stuffing and good taste. However, the chole served alongside it was just okay and didn't quite match the quality of the bread. Drinks were decent but nothing special. Overall, the food had some real highs and some middling items. We felt the pricing was on the higher side for the value and consistency offered. Would probably come back for specific dishes (especially the Butti Ka Murg), but not necessarily for a full meal.
