We had a late breakfast/early brunch. Wait was 5 minutes,service was professional. Food was ok to good,we had the oatmeal pancakes and the egg whites omelette with spinach and mushrooms between the two of us,bill was 40 dollars with coffee and tea,which I think was way too much for breakfast. Especially considering the basic ingredients and atmosphere. Don't think we will be back soon. read more

Really tasty breakfast food (and the coffee was good too!). I don't think you come to Silver Diner for something unique - you come for how consistent and reliable it is. Corned beef hash -my stepdad said really good Eggs with sausage and bread - perfectly cooked eggs and the white toast was definitely a splurge but with it. I don't love the sausages here so I probably would just get bacon next time. Other than that, everything was perfect. I would recommend this place before a mall shopping trip! It's a fun atmosphere in here as well. read more

JULY 2023 - Nothing Changes - It was a fantastic experience, FRESH Wonderful food, Salmon Shrimp, Burgers, Salads, Bruschetta - BUT the Highlight was the Service - Bikal, our waiter- was just outstanding. Friendly, gave "spot on" recommendations, and knew exactly when to check in on us. I wish they would open a SILVER DINER out here in Winchester - IT WOULD BE A MONSTER OF A HIT!! Every time we venture out and about the Capital Beltway to visit Family or for our Kids Travel Team Sporting events, The Silver Diner is a TOP CHOICE for our whole family. Our waiter, Ashim, was friendly and quick and took care of special requests that assured us we were being well taken care of. The establishment felt safe and took all precautions during these trying times. After a long afternoon of car shopping, the whole fam was in need of some sustenance. Silver Diner fit the bill with outdoor seating and a menu that is both kid and adult friendly. We were seated on their outdoor porch which was a bit chilly -- they had several propane heaters out at every table but unfortunately every single one was broken. No worries, we loaded up on lots of hot coffee (thank you for giving us oat milk as an alternative milk creamer!). I was really impressed with the healthy options on the kids menu from quinoa coconut pancakes to organic bison beef sliders and steamed edamame as a side. My husband and I went the non-healthy route and got the burgers which were loaded with onion rings, cheese, and all the yummy extras. Fries came out fresh and hot as well. Silver Diner is always a solid family choice using local, fresh ingredients! We are a fan! read more

Decent brunch place. Family friendly. Long lines! 1. Reservation/parking If possible, do it. But it is more first come, first serve. Brunch line is quite long. They do have their own parking lot, but it gets busy and have no space left easily. Look for street parking. 2. Food - good Avocado toast and fries are my favorite brunch meal and they make it very well here. Mimosas aren't the best, definitely not endless. 3. Service - not good I truly didn't like how rushed I felt by our female server and she was annoyed when we weren't ready to order right away and asked for a minute and she disappears as if she's punishing us. How can you not a have good outcome with a Sunday trip to the neighborhood Diner? When Breakfast was suggested, I had no idea there was a Silver Diner so close to my Hotel & was easily persuaded to eat here. Sat at the counter BK, our Server was friendly, accommodating & expedient. Same layout as the Pike's location with red uniforms everywhere hustling & bustling to take care of their customers. My meat eater friend noticed how much the menu has evolved on the healthier & Vegan/Veggie offerings. Although, I have to create my Breakfast plate, my effort is easy & I'm always content with my order...a glass of Mimosa pairs it perfectly. Nothing is better than a good old fashion American brunch, standard but very classic. I was hangry when I walked in and left as a happy man. The service was also pretty good, I never had to ask for servers. There was an interesting smoky favor in my omelette which paired very well with the sour cream and the sauce. Nicely done! read more

Let me get to the end before the beginning! This place was so good we came back the next day! It was an easy walk from our hotel but if u want to drive, they have plenty of parking. We were seated immediately the first time (yesterday). Today there was about a15-20 minute wait. The restaurant has the feel of a regular dinner but the food has an upscale twist. I ordered the Brussels sprout hummus bowl. It was so full with flavor. I also got one of their mimosas. It was expensive but worth it! The one I got was the tropical mimosa. Love Silver Diner. I enjoyed dining there for casual, but delicious eats pre-Covid. Decided to get lunch to go today, and ordered the pastrami reuben and seasonal warm salad to share with the hubs. So fresh and everything was piping hot even when eating it at home. Btw, the fries are bomb and we're surprisingly crispy! They have halal beef (creekstone) and chicken! That sold me and the amazing milkshake I had! I got the chunky monkey milkshake and it was sooo good! Dreaming about it! I got a burger and fries, too. The fries were crispy and delicious. The burger was satisfying and I love that I can customize it. I do think the burger patty was a tad bit on the drier side but I had added an egg and other things that added moisture. My cousin loved her burger and cookies & cream milkshake, too! The wait was only 15 minutes for us on a Sunday late morning/afternoon so I was surprised. But we were only 2 people so it might've been why. The service was good & the place is nice & clean. But I ordered waffles, had the order with syrup, none was included. So, it wouldn't matter. We're not home and at a hotel, we don't have easy access to these condiments. 3.5 stars Silver Diner is your reliable, I'm hungry I need food now sort of place. For some reason, it seems like the diner has lost popularity in recent years, but their food has gotten better. They have more selection, food seems to be healthier (?), and they stay open pretty late. Silver Diner is also great for groups, and their prowess really shows when you can order an array of appetizers and entrees for the entire table to try. Their burger isn't as juicy as you probably want it, and lacks a lot of flavor, but it's passable. The fried shrimp has a really tangy salsa that's super exciting to eat. The shrimp itself is average. As for the sweets, they were great. Banana stuffed French toast was phenomenal, campfire shake was fun and comforting, and the brownie dessert was a real treat. read more

I don't think I've gotten the opportunity to eat at a diner since I went vegan. Most diners are animal-product centered with little to no vegan options, so this place was a breath of fresh air! I ordered the beyond meatballs "mac" n cheese. To be honest, I was a little hesitant to order it; I didn't know what to expect because the item description said it didn't have actual pasta on it. I'm happy to say that it was super tasty, though! It had a surprising depth of flavor and I happily ate every bite on my plate. I also really enjoyed the avocado toast I got as an app. The rest of the people in my party ordered non-vegan options and enjoyed their food as well. My girlfriend liked the mofongo burger, and one person in my party who ordered liver was not only happy that they had liver as an option, but was impressed that they cooked it properly. I would definitely come back to the Silver Diner! I would like to come back sometimes to get their protein pancakes for breakfast. They sound delicious! read more

On a cold rainy day we were looking for a place to stop and get some really good food. Ended up stopping at this place. Food was absolutely amazing we both ended up getting the same thing except with her chicken and waffles she got French toast. In addition to the chicken being fried to perfection the waffles were not hard but soft and fluffy. I also noticed that inside of the waffle there was little pecans. So if you're allergic please be aware. In addition to having syrup with the waffle they also gave us some type of chili mango sauce that was to die for. My husband and I have had breakfast here at least three times now. We have had a good experience during each visit so far. The food is consistent, delicious and fresh. I would classify Silver Diner as a good family restaurant where kids are welcome. There was a line out the door on our last visit (probably because power was out in McLean) but the line moved quickly so don't let a line deter you. We were very thankful Silver Diner had power and was open! My favorite breakfast dish is the country scrambler. You can't go wrong with a delicious gravy on everything. My husband is a fan of the omelets and the bison huevos rancheros. We will be back, hopefully not because of another power outage. read more

I would compare the hot latte to one that you can make in an office coffee machine that has packets. It was very weak. Your pastries are good but my god I am glad that I didn't join the club even if the first month is free. On top of that even though she said she would give me the discount, she charged me full price. I would have complained but I have a lot of fatigue as I have stage iv cancer and just completed 39 radiation sessions. Will be back for pasties and desserts, but your coffee products with the experience I had today was vending machine quality.

I've never been much of a fan of diners until I went to Silver Diner about two years ago. I love the focus on locally sourced fruits and vegetables and the wide variety of heart healthy low calorie options. Usually low cal options aren't that great but not here. I love the 600 calorie or less menu. The salmon is terrific. I really like the rice with edamame that comes with it. It's a lot of food and you leave feeling full without that heavy sluggish feeling you get after a big meal. Also try the Baja Fish Tacos on the low cal menu. It comes with the yummy summer salad. I get it with the grilled flounder rather than the fried flounder and then I have them add some shredded cheddar cheese. Sure the cheese puts it over 600 calories but it really makes it taste terrific! They used to have a really fantastic Heath bar milkshake but unfortunately they took it off the menu. It wasn't the kind of thing you order every day but when you did, on that rare special occasion when you wanted to splurge, it was just amazing! I'm still hoping that they will bring it back someday. Had the lamb burger last night and it was excellent. It comes with a Greek salad and I couldn't finish it all. I'm rarely on this coast but when I'm in the area, I eat here practically every day. I've found the waitstaff to be friendly, efficient and more than happy to take special orders ( like the cheese on the tacos or dressing on the side, etc). With Yessinia, Peter and Samar standing out for exceptional service. In addition to bringing back the yummy Heath bar milkshake ( let's face it, it wouldn't be hard to do, they already have most of the necessary ingredients), I wish they had wild caught salmon and grass fed beef on the menu. Back in high school, this was the spot for my friends and me to hang out late at night, especially when we weren't old enough to hit the bars. We'd grab a booth, order milkshakes, fries, and tenders, and just chat for hours. My go-to? The Chunky Monkey Milkshake -- a thick, creamy blend of banana and chocolate that always hit the spot. Came here the other day with my dad and sister. Ordered a burger which came with fries and a hair on the plate, and by the time I got another one, both my dad and sister were done with their meals. I waited 40 minutes after I ordered to be able to eat and in the end, I took it to go. Our waitress was too busy chatting with another waitress to come check on our table when we discovered the hair that we had to call on someone else. I was here last week for the first time and I was very happy with the service and food. I was in Vienna for vacation and heard this was a local breakfast spot for many.
