In sitting at the bar, not a "counter". The staff is making brunch-type beverages, "a ycycyc spritzer" I have no idea what kind of spritzer it was, the masks are an affront to society. They do nothing scientifically but the garble sound waves and block is lip readers from reading between the lines. Breakfast: eggs, two, cold, the ostentatious menu does not mention how many but for what's going to be 20 dollars plus out the door... The chicken fried steak was still warm. The presentation was terrible. Unceremoniously dumped on top of the eggs and potatoes, it stood an inch above the plate. I had to pick it up and move potatoes out from underneath so I could saw off a bite. Yes, saw, with a steak knife, it's tough, reminds me of a cedar shake shingle. Oh, and half enough gravy. Potatoes, they're okay, could have used some spices, like maybe paprika, pepper... The biscuit. While perfectly baked. It's much too dry without a refill of coffee. Yes, it's a big cup but no refill with 17 staff in sight at the moment. No water either now that I'm reaching for something to choke this bite of biscuit down. For the price point I didn't want the adventure of fishing the little institutional pacakge of whipped butter out of the gravy. What happened to the cute little bowls of freshly whipped butter? Final thought on the biscuit, I prefer toast with my breakfast, apparently it's not available here. The waitress just spoke to me again. "Ready for your check?" Nice... not! I asked for a refill of my coffee, she walked away. 7-10 minutes later, coffee refill. If they spent half as much time making sure I was happy instead of carefully curling the cucumber slice into the spritzer this would have been an entirely different review. I try, really. Exceeded expectations for a Silver Diner restaurant. Service was not bad. However the opportunity I would share for management in particular with my server Tina is to check on her patrons more often prior to bringing the bill. I only saw her when she took my order and not again until she brought the bill. I wanted more coffee and a glass of water. The yelp business hours is incorrect. They are open 7am to Midnight Sun-Thur and 7am -2am on Friday & Saturday. Free open parking surrounds the building and is shared with neighboring Cava restaurant. I would definitely visit again. I came to this establishment on a Saturday night with my mother and my 2 year old. The restaurant was packed, as expected on a weekend, so we sat at the counter to avoid the wait. What we avoided I'm waiting for the hostess to sit us I feel like we waited for someone to greet us. 15mins passed before we saw our server, who was very friendly when she finally came. Since we had enough time to review the menu we ordereD everything right away; including our drinks and meals. Another 25-30 minutes passed before our food came, my daughters spaghetti was not hot, not even warm, and was missing the two meatballs that was ordered with it. I ordered the beyond meatballs and cauliflower "Mac" entree.. which was ice cold when they came, and I usually don't send back food when I'm this hungry, but being a mother of a 2 year old you can imagine how often I actually even go to a restaurant anymore. The server gladly took back my cold dish to re-cook it. Another 30 minutes went by before my daughters meatballs and another 10 before my dish came out. To be honest, it was ok. My first time visiting a Silver Diner and this location impressed me! The service was awesome and the cleanliness was spot on, which was reassuring during this Omicron spike. The pancake wasn't fancy, but hit the spot. I wish it was real maple syrup, but the pancake syrup didn't taste super artificial. My companion's burger looked exactly like the menu photo and was tasty. It was also my first time having a Smith Island Cake -- the seasonal flavor was peppermint which sounded worrisome but was not overpowering and went well with the gingerbread-ish cake. read more

The facility is clean and the air filter state of the art purification system was an added comfort during the pandemic. I ordered the shrimp and grits. I generally LOVE this place, but I must say, the dining in experience is better than delivery. I've done both, pretty frequently, but last night............ I ordered from DoorDash. The Mediterranean Meatball dinner. Now on the DoorDash menu, the meals it falls under gives you a choice of soup or salad. When I was trying to choose soup because the meal appeared to come nicely plated with leafy greens, it did not give the option. So I placed a nice $60 order for us and called to ensure that I would get soup instead of salad. I mean, who needs two right? Wellllllllll when my order got herrrrreeeeee I had TWO meatballs in sauce and a bowl of chowder not even half full! I called, they blamed DoorDash for the menu because this meal does not come with a choice. I blame THEM for not even giving me a meal! No cucumbers, pita and anything else that "comes" with it. The manager I think 'John' kept saying if I could make it there by 11 he would make it right. Welllllll I ordered via DoorDash because I COULD NOT come there having bronchitis. So after hearing the blame game, of course I contacted DoorDash and let them have it too. This won't prevent my dining in here, but has cut my relationship with them and DoorDash or any carry out. I dined at Silver Diner for the first time and I'm upset that I did not know about this place sooner. It's very rare to find a restaurant that is not 100% vegan where I feel like I am not missing out on an enjoyable experience compared to my non-vegan company. Well this was the case. I can have food that is just as delicious and satisfying as the non-vegan options here. We went there for dinner and I had the curry quinoa pasta meal. It was very filling and flavorful. My husband had the bison burger and he said it was really good. After scanning their brunch menu options, we decided to return the next day for brunch. I think this is where the restaurant shines, as it should, because it calls itself a diner. And they did not disappoint. I had the vegan egg Benedict and mocha brew milkshake. Both were spectacular. They did not skimp on the portions nor flavor. Hubby had an omelette, sausage and French toast with a chunky monkey milkshake and he enjoyed everything. All other restaurants take notes. This is how you cater to different diets in 2022. Just because I follow a plant-based diet does not mean I am satisfied eating roasted cauliflower and arugula for brunch. Sometimes I want something hearty, flavorful and filling. I need something to soak up all the mimosas. We did brunch on Saturday and they were very busy and we still got our food pretty quickly. Our server seemed very distracted and she kept forgetting the basics like napkins and a spoon but I can tell she was trying. Ate breakfast at this establishment located at Woodmore Town Center. I'm still COVID-shy, so was a little alarmed that we were seated at a booth with ppl on either side of us. They did thoroughly clean tables and seating after every patron. I ordered the Western omelet with egg whites and hubby ordered the California omelet with chicken. Both come with a biscuit and home fries. Everything was hot and delicious. Our server, Emerson (love the name), was very nice and attentive. Their prices are affordable. Our salad was 15 mins late, my brothers sandwich had the wrong bread, refills were delayed, our drink was incorrect the second time, the waiter never apologized for getting our order wrong, he never brought us napkins, ranch dressing was forgotten, it felt like we had to remind our waiter for everything during the time we were there, our table next to us also got her order wrong. I just had a really wonderful experience here! I took my Mom for lunch and she was a little nervous about eating in because of social distancing since we don't live in the same house. The hostess (whose name I forgot, I'm so, so sorry) observed our ambivalence and gave us a huge corner table so we could sit together but still have 6 feet between us. She did it without us asking. The clear glass separating booth tables were all smeared with prints/whatever which I noticed walking from the bathroom. Saturday brunch is very busy for this location. Arrived around 11:30, we told the wait was 30 minutes. We were seated within 40 minutes. Waiting area is chaotic with very limited space to wait. There is no way to notify you when your table is ready if you step outside the crowded waiting space. Once seated we were waited on immediately. When going to a diner, a reasonable expectation is that they know how to make a decent pancake. I tried to order the Oat Milk Protein Pancakes with sugar-free syrup, but the pancakes were served to me raw not once but twice. The pancakes appeared cooked on the outside, but the batter on the inside was still so wet that it could be spread with my fork. I decided to instead order the Warm Roasted Local Veggie Salad with Shrimp as I had ordered that from another location before and , thankfully, it came out perfectly. However, in trying to finally enjoy my meal after the pancake fiasco, I was surrounded by gnats flying around my food and loud, vulgar, and inappropriate personal conversations from the staff. To top things off, I went to the restroom and someone had thrown up in the sink and left it there. While I understand that isn't the restaurant's fault, it was the deciding factor in my decision not to return to this location. read more

Not pleased at all. The host left the front for a long time while people were waiting to put their name in for a table. Our server/cook got my order wrong, fries were cold, grilled chicken was not cooked all the way through. It was literally pink. Decided to order just some fries because the rest of table would have been done with their food. When my fries arrived it was only 15 fries on the plate. There were way more cold fries than the hot ones I asked for originally. My husband's French toast was cold by the time our server Hope arrived with his syrup. Never again! My hopes weren't very high considering that it's a diner, but come on. Since my food was incorrect, the least they could have done was give me the fries for free. I got jipped. $4.99 for 15 fries. This location in Lanham, MD - Woodmore Shopping Center has the worst customer service. Even going there at lunchtime, sittibg at the bar to eat, the service was terrible. The female manager, named Grace, watched me sit down and never greeted me, especially since the waitress was clearly busy. After sitting for about 5 minutes without an acknowledgment from anyone that I was even there, I asked the manager if she could help. Grace then told me that I had to wait. I waited a few more minutes and asked for help from Grace again. She slowly walked over the waitress working at a table, whispered something to her and took over for her. That waitress working the bar area, left the floor and came over to me a few mins later, stood to the side of me and as dryly, "could I help you". I placed my order quickly, ate and left. Felt like it was a good night until they dimmed the lights at 10:06pm. When asked if they could turn the lights back up I was told it was a corporate policy to dim the lights at 10pm. That is WILD! Finally got a chance to try Silver Diner in WTC! I've been to other locations a couple of times. Tasty as always! Plethora of options, but I was reminded it's not your typical diner. Being farm to table, they have lots of veggie and unconventional entree items. So it's priced than a typical diner visit. Definitely loved the variety of options. They even offer fun diner spins and have bottomless mimosas on weekends! The layout allows for many many guests. They have a super cool bar and the decor, like other location - is very clean, retro and minimalistic. Looking forward to enjoying this new option in the area. read more

Don't know when I will return maybe during a weekday cause the parking was just Crazy! I'm here with my dad having some lunch. Took 20 minutes to get a server to our table. Had I not gotten up to see about who was assigned our table it may have been longer. The manager on duty would clearly rather be socializing and laughing it up with the staff.
