Yellow curry
Michelle K.

I came here for the first time with some high school friends back in November on a Saturday evening - it wasn't too busy so thankfully we were seated right away. We ordered three dishes to share: yellow curry, pad kee mow (I think) and crab fried rice. The food was all really delicious - I particularly enjoyed the yellow curry. The fried rice was also very good surprisingly as I am not a fan of crab typically. I also really liked the service - they were very welcoming and accommodating. I'd love to come back again and try the other dishes as well. Overall a great choice for Thai food!

We usually go to their other location, but since it's currently closed for renovation, we decided to try the Cypress Village spotand wow, we're glad we did. We ordered the Siam Station fried rice, Thai-style Hainan chicken, pad thai with prawn, and the Bangkok chili-lime pork. The fried rice was, of course, super tasty. We got it with crispy pork, and they did not disappoint the pork was actually crispy, not soggy like some places. The Hainan chicken was another standout. The sauce is soooo good, and the soup that comes with it tasted really clean and smooth, which I appreciated. Pad thai is always a go-to for me, and theirs didn't miss. I especially like adding their peanut sauce it just makes everything taste even better. One dish that really surprised me was the Bangkok chili-lime pork (I think it's one of their Jeffrey specials?). It's definitely spicy, but in a really good way super flavorful. We sat outside since we had our dog with us, and the staff were really kind. They even brought our pup a bowl of ice water without us asking, which was such a nice touch. They were also very attentive even though we were seated outside.

So rarely is a second location even better than an already very good first location, but Siam Station has made it happen here at the Jeffrey location. The dishes we had were excellent, service was outstanding and the restaurant was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The Green Curry Chicken, Pad Thai and Khao Soy were delicious. I will definitely be returning soon!

So glad to see another good restaurant open up nearby..... especially in this Cypress shopping center that I regularly frequent for the different varieties of fast casual dining options. Siam Station, I'd say, is a welcome new addition. The variety of delicious Thai offerings is quite impressive as it caters to pretty much every commonly found favorite Thai dish, and more, and everything we ordered this day was pretty darn good. Yes, a bit pricey for Thai food, but heck, this Irvine, and we're living in these times where nothing is cheap anymore....as long as the food selection, quality, and service is good, I'm willing to pay for it. So, we ordered the Pad Kee Mow...aka drunken noodles (flat rice noodles) with chicken, green curry with chicken, papaya salad, and the golden shrimp donut. Other than the papaya salad sauce being a bit sweet for our taste... still very good but just a bit sweet....everything else was absolutely delicious! ..... ingredients were very fresh, everything was cooked piping hot and fresh, and the flavors and textures were all spot on. The golden shrimp donuts were particularly interesting..... wonderful plump minced shrimp meat on the inside and a great crispy crunch on the outside breading, and each bite went great with the dipping sauces provided..... yummy! The restaurant's interior is very pleasant, modern casual, and very clean. Service wasn't too bad.... generally nice and friendly, but my sense is they're kind of short staffed during the busy lunch period so they can get a bit moody at times..... they were much nicer once the busy crowd moved out. With all the really good Thai restaurants around, with our regular spot being a little further away, I'd say that we'd definitely come back here again the next time we get that craving for some good Thai food.

Oh my goodness, SO GOOD HERE! Service was top notch; staff was kind and observant, grabbing things when needed or putting in the dessert order when we just about finished main dishes. Food came out pretty quickly and they were fantastic. Mango sticky rice was to die for. Absolutely will be coming back because I need to try more items on the menu. I really appreciate that they have a Yelp waitlist too!

4/5 First off, will say I'm glad to see North Irvine with a new Thai restaurant! I feel like there's an abundance of East Asian food in the area, but not as much southeast asian. TASTE: Had no complaints on the food itself, the fried shrimp donuts were crispy in the outside & flavorful on the inside, pork was crispy and juicy as well, and papaya salad tasted pretty standard. Nothing was particularly special. WHY THE 4/5- However, prices for the items were high for the portion size. I expected some more meat for the pork dish & more papaya salad for the price ($15 meat & salad, $18 for shrimp donut). Even a bowl of rice with the meat would be nice! Plus, service was not great. The server helping us was not the most friendly when we were asking about which dishes to get. Just seemed like she wanted her shift to end

Pad See Ew with chicken and lychee lemonade

Cypress Village Shopping Center has lots of good restaurants, plus there's ample outdoor seating (with heat lamps) available for larger parties. My class at nearby Trabuco Center celebrated the end of the semester with lunch here recently. People ordered lunch from Tomikawa, Tang 190, Da Luau, and Siam Station. Siam Station was the only place that would not bring our meal to the outdoor tables. You have to order your food to go only. Is this because the staff is too small to accommodate outdoor dining customers, or is it due to a lack of customer service? I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and a lychee lemonade. The price was average, but the portion seemed on the small side. The chicken could have been cut more bite-sized for easier eating. The lychee lemonade had a lychee in the cup, which was a nice touch. When I checked on my order, the fellow at the counter did not acknowledge me (even a "We'll be right with you" would have sufficed). at all. As he brought out the drink and my order, I asked if there was tableware and a napkin. Rather than answer, he handed me a napkin and a plastic fork. When I got to the table and opened the bag, there was already a napkin and fork included. Does he not know how the orders are packaged, or was this his passive-aggressive response to my innocent question (my first time trying this place)? I like Thai food, but I'm ambivalent about whether I would order from this place again. For a place that's only been open a short time, they could benefit from better customer service.

They were open on NYE, had a good amount of people so we decided to try them out. Food was mediocre for the price. Service was pretty decent, nothing out of the ordinary. $25 for Pad Thai is definitely not worth the price tag. Tasted very Americanized.

Really great food and much nicer location. The service was great and restaurant was super clean and light. But again, the food was just as good as the other location. The green curry is amazing and I love their pad see ew. The mangoes with sticky rice was great. I'll definitely be back there again.

Siam Station recently opened in the Kohl's / Albertsons Plaza on Jeffrey near Roosevelt. Not knowing what to expect, we decided to give it a try given that Thai eateries in Irvine have all been okay, but not "great". When we entered, we expected this to be a grab and go place; we were mistaken, in a good way. Because they had opened for less than a month, the waitlist was not up to par (we had placed ourselves on the yelp waitlist but after seeing multiple tables open up and receiving no texts or calls, I inquired. They didn't even know I was on the waitlist...). Once we were seated, everything went fine. The interior is clean (sort of on the small end with probably only 10 or so tables for dine-in). We ordered the obligatory Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Hainan Chicken and Orange Chicken. We also ordered a Tom Yum soup (not pictured). To our pleasant disbelief, the food all came out within 5 minutes. Since were had waited for a while for tables to open up, we were hungry and this prompt service was very welcoming. Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were definitely the winners, flavorful and what I craved to have in Irvine for a while. I wouldn't want to name other Thai restaurants in the vicinity for this review, but Siam Station knows what they're doing in this regard. The chicken (orange and Hainan) were pretty standard, in a good way. The Hainan chicken had the garlic sauce that elevated the dish and the orange chicken, well, its orange chicken. Tom Yum was what we needed since it was in the high 50s that day. A convenient, fast, and delicious new Thai spot worthy of a visit.

Pad see ew

Siam Station is my fave Thai restaurant in Irvine, so I was happy to see that they opened a second Irvine! Their new restaurant is more spacious and nicely decorated - a definite improvement! I ordered my favorite - pad see ew with tofu. I would have given Siam Station five stars, but there were parts of the dish that were way too salty. If they had only cut back on the salt, it would have been perfect! My husband ordered his go to - tom yum noodles, medium heat. The medium heat turned out to not be that spicy. We'll have to remember to get it spicy next time. Service was quite friendly. "See you next week!" said our server. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Pad See Ew with Chicken

I've been a regular at Siam Station (the one by the District) for a while now and am happy that their business is growing with the opening of the new store. Their noodle dishes are usually my go-to, although, at this location, I'm a big fan of their Panang curry now. We got the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and the Panang Curry appetizer that came with Roti. Pad Thai - This is my favorite noodle dish here. The noodle is chewy and the flavors are balanced. The protein amount is also very generous. It's always consistent, even when I order takeout. I appreciate that the Pad See Ew - This is another great option if you are looking for something a bit more savory or sweet/tangy flavors are not your thing. I appreciate that they don't oversalt this. Sometimes Pad See Ew can be very salty and not have flavor, but that's not the case here. Panang Curry with Roti - Got this to try their Panang curry and it was very good. Glad we took a chance on this because now I default to this as a curry option. The service is great here. The food comes out quickly and it's always super hot. The interior is bright and open, and simply feels comfortable to dine in. It's located in a very large plaza, so parking is not really an issue. There are a few dishes that are only available at this location, so I'm excited to try those next time. This is a great option for takeout or if you're looking for a quick meal.

A neighbor made us aware of Siam Station. The restaurant's comfortable interior is bright and attractive, conducive for dining in (can be loud during busy hours). However, to date, we have only experienced take-out (ordering there, the wait time has always been impressively shorter than their reasonable estimates!): Favorites (to date): Garlic Green Beans, $10 Siam Station Fried Rice (with Chicken), $16 Plain RO-TI, $5 - oilier than others we've had but delightfully crispy, flaky, and flavorful We've also enjoyed the following, but not on our list of regular orders: Pad Kee Mow, $16 Cashew Chicken, $16 On my initial visit (and impression), Elle was/is a great ambassador: positive-&-friendly, very welcoming, expressed appreciation for me coming in, and very helpful. Everyone I have encountered has been very pleasant, too. We're so happy to have a local Thai restaurant conveniently located to us when craving this cuisine, saving us from driving to our other go-tos in Lake Forest. Fun local find!

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.

The staff was friendly and quickly greeted and guided me to my reserved table. The space was cozy and warm while having a minimalist vibe, but still had that small business owner feel to it. The menu had so many food options, more than some of the other thai spots around in OC. Here, you'll find some more rare dishes besides your more common and popular noodle and curry dishes. Dishes we ordered: - Crab Noodles: this was probably the most popular one for the table! Amount of crab was pretty good for the value and noodles were perfectly sweet and savory with the fried egg. Would definitely order this again! - Panang Curry with Chicken: this was also probably one of the best panang that I've had! The chicken was also very tender. Medium heat was the perfect amount of space that packed flavor with just the right kick to it. - Creamy Udon in Tom Yum Soup: just a little mild for those who don't want anything too spicy. While the crispy pork had good flavor, the pieces were a bit hard to chew. - Pad Thai: not usually my go-to dish because it's more sweet than savory, but this dish was pretty good. - Egg Rolls: perfect to share as an appetizer! Filling was well seasoned and rolls were lightly fried for a good crispy texture. With so many popular thai spots around OC, it can be tricky finding one that checks all the marks, but this one might have it all! Now I just need to make sure to save stomach space to try their mango sticky rice...

From the appetizers to the stir fry, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Service was friendly and quick, and the owner/chef is always welcoming. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Thai food. You can really taste the quality and heart in every dish!

Some restaurants you try once. Some you like for a season…read more And then there are the rare ones that quietly become part of your life. Thai Cafe falls into that last category for me. I've been coming here for over 10 years, and that alone says more than any rating ever could. In a world where places change recipes, cut corners, or slowly fade, Thai Cafe has stayed exactly what it has always been consistent, authentic, and deeply comforting. It's not just a restaurant anymore, it's a tradition. My two constants: the Chicken Cashew and the Thai Basil Chicken (very little veggies, the way I always order it). Somehow, year after year, they taste exactly how your memory hopes they will. The chicken is always tender, never dry, coated in sauces that hit that perfect balance of savory, slightly sweet, and aromatic. The cashew dish has that warm, nutty richness that feels like a complete meal by itself, while the Thai basil carries that unmistakable garlic chili fragrance that instantly tells your brain: you're in the right place. And yes -- they get busy. Really busy. The wait times can absolutely get out of hand sometimes. But honestly, that almost proves the point. You don't see crowds form around ordinary food. You see them around places people trust. Places families return to. Places that have earned patience. Because when the plate finally arrives, the wait disappears. First bite, and you remember why you keep coming back after a decade. Thai Cafe is the definition of a true family owned restaurant not flashy, not trendy, just honest cooking made the same way every time, by people who clearly care about what leaves their kitchen. Some restaurants feed you for a night. This one has fed memories for years. Ten years later and it still feels like home on a plate.

The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. We ordered shrimp egg rolls/spring rolls. Very well composed and filled with delicious ingredients. Thoroughly enjoyed them - just wish the sauce was a little bit thicker to stick to the rolls and hold the full flavor. But not a complaint. My friend had moo krob phad khanna - ate the plate clean - so definitely liked it. I had massaman chicken/ delish! Chicken/ potatoes/ carrots/ peanuts. Carrots could have been sliced smaller since we were eating with chopsticks - but the carrots were soft enough to eat. Very delicious - might even eat my leftovers b4 the night is over!! Adorable place. Well priced and good sized portions. Will definitely come again.
