Minced Pork W. Olive Vegetable String Bean
    Diana R.

I've seen Tasty Spot Cafe many times, but finally trying it for the first time! I'm so glad we finally ate here. We were starving and came on a Friday evening. Parking was plentiful as this restaurant is located in a shopping center where there's a Korean grocery store, Zion Market. We were seated right away. It's a casual atmosphere with a decent amount of tables. I let the server know that it was our first time there. She was doing her best to be helpful to suggest some popular items. Our dinner started off with the wonton soup ($16.95) We chose not to have noodles with it. I intended to order the pork, but what came out was a combination of pork and shrimp in the wontons. The wontons were a good size and had good flavor. There was nothing else that came with it except the broth. No vegetables. I feel like it was a small amount for the price point. Next up, the minced pork with string beans ($18.95) were brought out. The green beans were delicious and not overcooked and still had a crunch to it. The minced pork was seasoned very nicely and complemented the vegetable well. And for the next dish, this was my favorite of our dinner, the two meat combination of barbecue pork and crispy roasted pork ($26.95). The crispy pork was amazing! The outer skin had a nice crunch to it, and there was a good balance of pork and fat. The barbecue pork was sweet and savory. I think we over ordered one dish too many. That's ok because we had some leftovers to take home. Lastly, we had the house special filet mignon ($27.95). This came with a lot of onions and some traces of green bell pepper. I believe it was Thai basil that was part of this dish, which I really liked! The service was nice and attentive, without being intrusive. That usually doesn't happen too often at these restaurants. It looks like they work as a good team. Another server handed us a fork and knife to cut the crispy pork and fillet mignon chunks. That was thoughtful since we didn't ask for it. We really enjoyed our dinner and will be coming back more often!

Tasty Spot Cafe in Irvine, CA Got some craving for homemade tasting food? I found the best one in Irvine! #entrance

As a proud member of the Yelp Elite Squad, I consider it my civic duty, no, my moral calling, to report back on all things edible, delicious, and occasionally life‑changing. And if you've been following my reviews on Yelp for the last six+ years, you already know one thing about me: I don't lie, I don't sugarcoat, and I don't gatekeep good food. If I ever withhold information, it's only because I'm unconscious. So today, I woke up with a craving so specific it felt like a pregnancy symptom: marinated roasted duck. Naturally, I did what any responsible adult would do. I opened Yelp and typed "best roasted duck in Irvine." And boom! The first result? Tasty Spot. Now, I've only been here twice (or it could've been three times) since one of my husband's best friends invited us in when it first opened. We loved it. And listen, my husband is one of the pickiest human beings on planet Earth. This man will look you dead in the eye and tell you to un‑five‑star a restaurant if he thinks your "culinary soulmate" is actually a catfish. He doesn't pull punches; he throws Yelp‑level truth bombs. He's that picky. Which, honestly, explains why he married me, clearly he has impeccable taste. Speaking of me, the ultimate foodie adventurer, (the same one who will drive 50 miles for excellent sushi) said to myself, "Let's go back, girl!" And let me tell you... I did NOT regret it. Not even a little. As your Dating Coach reviewer here on Yelp, I can unequivocally tell you that the universe greeted me in the form of Amy, my server, who was basically the human equivalent of your well‑timed first date: she courteously smiled, was attentive, and patiently answered all my questions without making me feel like I was being "politely tolerated." If you've been stuck in the Burger‑Fries‑Milkshake situationship (since you graduated from Gerber's peas, carrots and spinach mushy food jars), consider this your sign to expand your dating pool, I mean, your DINING pool, and try this place. IS THIS PLACE DATEWORTHY OR NOT? I give it a resounding Yes. Super casual and effortlessly charming. The kind of place where even your mother-in-law would approve. Now, a special shout‑out to Amy...Girl, you're the kind of server who makes a customer want to come back not just for the food, but for the experience. The restaurant itself is spacious, whether you're on a cozy date for 2 or hosting a chaotic party of 20 hungry people, you won't feel boxed in. It has that "big dinner party" vibe without the stress of actually hosting a big dinner party. And the roasted duck? OMG Amy told me it's cooked FRESH every single day, and honestly, the way she wholeheartedly explained it made me think about the giddiness that my girlfriends experience when a man actually texts them back right away. They go through so much marinated duck that I'm convinced this might be the best roasted duck in California. If you're from out of town, your trip here would be so worth it. Yes, I said it. I stand by it. Fight me. I'll absolutely be back -- for the freshly roasted duck, for the vibes, and for their delicious lemon tea, and their unmatched coffee milk tea! Yummy!

This spot used to be Delicious Food Corner, and the menu is pretty much the same. You can order classic individual Hong Kong cafe dishes or go for larger family-style plates. There's also dimsum options to choose from. We had a bigger group, so we were seated in a quiet private room in the corner, which worked out really well. A few dishes were a bit salty, but overall everything was solid. My favorites were the honey walnut shrimp (crispy and not overly drenched in mayo like at other places), and the spicy garlic eggplant. The soy sauce chow fun is a classic and always a reliable choice. Service was excellent, and our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout.

This is located in the same plaza as Zion Market. Plenty of parking in this plaza, but with the market and other eateries it can get pretty busy. We came for lunch on a Saturday, place was packed but we were able to get a seat for 7. This place has those roasted duck, honey bbq pork & steamed chicken. They also have dim sum you can order off the menu. After ordering, each item came quite fast and we were able to enjoy the food all at the same time. We love what we ordered, especially the salted fish and chicken fried rice.

Recently discovered this authentic Hong Kong style restaurant and could not have been happier! A bit of a trek for us on the UCI side of Irvine in "traffic" but well worth the drive as we can't get this style of food in many places in Irvine with this taste! Definitely a must try. Service was very prompt and we cannot wait to go back! Food was fresh, piping hot, and flavorful! Also loved that they had dim sum all day

Rebranded from Delicious Food Corner, but it appears the menu items remain largely the same. We ordered some of the same items we used to get, and it tasted the same too, so not sure if there was a management change or just a name change. We came on a Monday night without a reservation for a party of 10 and was seated immediately even though not everyone in our party has arrived. The place is quite large and it wasn't too busy so they didn't mind that we just started ordering some food while we waited. Our server was friendly and I remember seeing her there in the past. The HK iced tea was very strong and flavorful with free refills. Everyone enjoyed the food. One of the fried items took extra long so we had to remind them a few times so I forgot to take a photo.

My husband and ai came here with our 13yo & 10yo boys for dinner after driving down from out of town. We arrived around 730pm on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was about 1/3 occupied. It's a big restaurant with many tables that can be put together to accomodate large groups. The AC was on cold and it's very bright inside unlike some restaurants where the lighting is so dim. We were seated immediately and given the menus. A staff came by right after asking to take drink orders. Then another staff came by to take food orders when we barely flipped through the main menu and 2 side menus. We were asked 3x if we were ready to order before we done looking through the menu. I was taken back and somewhat annoyed as I felt rushed. But we finally look through the main menu and order the following: 1. Beef Chow Fun: More noodles than beef. Smaller noodles used compared to other restaurants that ises larger noodles. Good flavor and not oily. Beef is tender. 2. Roasted Duck (half): Very tender, moist and flavorful, not too salty. Came with a small dish of sweet and sour sauce pair with. I wish the skin was crispier though. 3. HK Style Stir Fried Spare Ribs: This dish came out last and took the longest. It was very delish. The spare ribs were very tender and the taste is sweet and tangy, more on the sweeter side, with lots of pineapple, bell peppers and onions. The ribs were cut up too small so we bit into the bones easily. My 10yo son gave up on eating it as it hurt his teeth. 4. Stir fried string beans: A very good dish with salted minced pork. Need to eat with rice or else will be too salty to eat on own. String beans not crunchy as I would like as it a little soft but I would order this dish again. Food came pretty quick but the last dish took longest. We also could not order rice ahead as they wanted us to order rice once the food came out. The overall service is good as they are quick to take away your dirty plates and refilled water as meeded w/o us asking. We would definitely return in the future to try other items as we came towards end of day so a cod dish we wanted was not available. Note: Picture on menu may not be actual dish as there was a string bean & mushroom with fried tofu I wanted to order, but was told that the dish has mushrooms only. The string beans shown in the picture is just for the visual of the menu only. So be sure to confirm that the picture of an item you like will be the actual dish you get.

This visit I got the three meats again. Today was chicken, BBQ pork, and crispy pork. I got meat only since you get more. The server was nice enough to bring me a bowl of rice. As you can see from the picture they load your plate with meat. Service was very good. You really get your money's worth here. They even gave me a to go cup of my iced tea.

Beef Chow Fun W. Dark Soy Sauce, Hong Kong Style Pineapple Bun W. Butter (2)
    Olivia Z.

This meal hit exactly the way I wanted it to. I was craving beef chow fun and pineapple buns so I ordered delivery and oh my gosh this was the best way to end 2025. The beef chow fun had the perfect smokey charred flavor and there was so much beef. The noodles were chewy and not greasy at all and the veggies were perfectly crisp. I have no notes or critiques. The pineapple bun was also delicious. It was so fluffy with a crispy crust. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it satisfied my craving and I have no problems ordering it again. I will 1000% be back to try other menu items because I ascended to another dimension after this meal. Ratings Beef chow fun: 5/5 Pineapple buns: 4.5/5

$76.71 for 2 adults 2 mains and 2 dim sum, 1/3 a plate of leftovers Good Roast duck Good flavor, not enough protein. Lots of rice. Wasn't too meaty, but I enjoyed eating it Braised e fu noodle Not amazing, but the best dish especially with chili oil! I did like it with the shiitake mushrooms and the texture of the noodles reminded me of tofu lol Ok Beancurd roll was interesting. Bae liked it, I found the filling a little gamey/smelly.. sauce is more brothy and diff from what you normally find at dim sum. I personally would just save my cals for 626 and not get this here Not good Shrimp chive dumpling It was a Cantonese version of a viet banh gio. The skin has no chew and is too smooth, inside is too fine of a texture Service Still takes forever to flag down people. Food took 15+ min to come out

Second time eating here. Special of the day was lobster noodles. We were given a large 3lb lobster fresh from the tank! Peking duck/whole duck and bbq pork were flavorful. All other food was solid. Overall, another tasty meal. Also, can't overlook the milk tea with unlimited refills

The lamb was excellently fatty... tender and soft! I've recently had another hot pot place with lean lamb so this was on point. Portions were generous and the price felt very reasonable. My favorite dish of the meal was the fatty beef with scallions. The beef was indeed fatty and rich flavor, with what I think was a nice subtle Shaoxing wine or cooking wine flavor. We've been here several times before and what keeps us coming back is the quality of the food. Today, they had a new chef cook our food and it was terrible. Green beans were extremely sour (way way too much vinegar). Mapo Tofu had a ton of oil but not enough sauce, so it was just flavorless except the oil. The fried pork chop was over fried where some pieces you can't even bite through. The rice had too much water in it and was mushy. I rarely return food but this time it was so bad we had to let them know. We returned all of our dishes back to them. They let us know there was a new chef today, and they would remake all the dishes for us with the original chef. The replacement dishes were just as good as all our previous visits and it was excellent again! So thanks to the staff for fixing the problem. I'm not sure if they are training a new chef to take over, or as a backup, but they need to be careful as serving bad quality food like that would drive most people to never come back. We knew the food was good from prior experience, so we knew we could ask why the food quality changed. For first time customers, or those that may have ordered to go - if you had bad food today, it may have been a fluke due to the new chef. Service however was a amazing as usual. For all our visits including today, the staff has been kind and always looking for ways to help out and make sure we were having a good experience. So besides the food being good, I would say excellent service is also huge plus here. Don't be fooled with the automated ordering and robot delivering the food into thinking there is no service. The people behind the counter are awesome! Hope management takes care of this new chef issue quickly since their food quality is the main reason people come here. There was a night and day difference between the original food we got today, and the replacement!

It had been a couple of months since we were last there and my parents and my daughter had been asking to go back and were really looking forward to eating there. However, we were so disappointed when we went back 2 weeks ago! The menu changed a bit, which was fine, and all our usual dishes were still there. We did notice that the cooks have changed and the original Cantonese chef was not there. I think the kitchen staff really changed how the flavors of the dishes for the worst. My 7yo daughter used to love their shrimp fried rice, but as soon as the fried rice came out, the first thing she said was "how come it looks so different from before." Not only did it look different, it was BURNT. It was like they fried the rice in a burnt wok so every grain of rice was coated in tiny black burnt bits. It was essentially inedible. They also just topped the rice with some tastless blanched shrimp instead of actually stir frying the shrimp into the rice. The green onion pancake used to be flakey with layers and expectedly oily for this dish, but the pancake we got this time was essentially a tasteless tortilla. It literally looked and tasted like a tortilla. No layers, flakes or oil at all and was the worst green onion pancake I've ever had anywhere. The fish with black bean sauce was acceptable, but it was definitely not the same. It tasted more like American Chinese flavors instead of the previous authentic Cantonese flavors. The only dish that I thought was still good was the stir fried eggplants, although my parents said it also tasted more Americanized. We are so sad that the food here has changed so much and it was one of the rare places my Cantonese dad actually said tasted authentically Cantonese in the area. The restaurant was full during our latest vist but we did notice that 90% of the diners and people ordering take-out were non-Asians. When we came previously, there was a good mix of Asian and non-Asian diners, so it seems like the clientele have shifted, which might explain the flavor changes or vice versa. The staff is still very nice and friendly, but it seems like the robot server has been laid off. I don't think we will be coming back again unfortunately as the food is no longer what we loved before. However, they seemed to still be doing well so others must still like it.

The Laziji (Spicy Fried Chicken) is piled high with dried chilies and has that perfect, addictive crispy crunch. Another massive standout is the Stir-Fried Cilantro Beef--the meat is incredibly tender and tossed with a ton of fresh cilantro and green peppers for a great, fresh kick. If you want a dry pot, the Dry Pot Chicken Wings are awesome. The wings are perfectly seasoned and come tossed with lotus root and crinkle-cut potatoes that soak up all the savory, numbing spices. The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side so you'll be close to your neighbors not that it was an issue personally. My buddy and I ordered our items and shared with each other for a good full experience. We got the three-in-one noodles medium heat and the Ma Hu Beef noodles with mild heat alongside the cucumbers with medium heat as an appetizer. Cucumbers were very fresh! However, they really were just cucumbers with a little heat on them so they weren't anything too special. Once the main entrees came in, I couldn't stop myself from digging in! I forgot to take a picture until after some damage was done to our meals. Three-in-one was so flavorful and sweet with the noodles becoming incredibly soft after having mixed it all together. The star of the show for me though was the Ma Hu Beef noodles. The beef was remarkably tender and delicious and the noodles had a firmer texture that complimented with the flavors. Oddly enough, the mild heat on the Ma Hu Beef was spicier than the medium heat three-in-one! If you find yourself in the mood for Biangbiang noodles, this is definitely the spot to go to. On a side unrelated note about the parking which did not influence my review; the parking here is rough. It's consistently packed so watch out for that. There is a structure across the street that allows parking for the food court. I parked in the structure but I had a bad experience because since it's also parking for the residents above, the gate was closed on us after 8pm. I had to wait for a vehicle to come out and open the gate for not only just me but for multiple other people that had also parked in the structure!Just something to keep in mind. Hopefully that doesn't continue being an issue for future guests.

It's about time I reviewed them! My number one dish goes to the minced pork rice- it's a pretty simple dish, but it's sooo good here for some reason. I've ordered this dish at other Taiwanese restaurants and nothing compares to the one at A&J- the pork is always SO flavorful, never dry and enough to coat all the rice, the egg is perfection, and all the little garnishes compliment the dish so well. It's also just as amazing takeout which I always appreciate. Other go-tos are the spicy beef noodle soup- the beef in it is always so tender and I love getting the thick noodle option because of the rough texture it adds. Beef roll and pan fried dumplings are always a good option for sharing. Have tried a lot of things on their menu and nothing so far has disappointed!

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including the beef noodle soup, minced pork over rice, spicy wontons, fried pork chop, and scallion pancake. At first, the portions looked smaller than we expected, but the prices were reasonable and the food ended up being more filling than it appeared. We actually thought we'd need to order several more dishes for our group of four, but by the end of the meal we were completely satisfied. My favorite was definitely the spicy wontons. The wontons themselves were great, but the sauce was flavorful, slightly spicy, and addictive!

Seating consider is around 10 tables plus hjgh top stools, so if you are a large group the wait can be long. We stopped by yesterday to try out some new items, which were a mixed bag. First the Cheese Chicken Roll was surprisingly good. Imagine the Beef Roll and swap things around to get something off of a fancy KFC menu. It features a crispy flaky tortilla outside, wrapped around copious chicken (katsu texture), some lettuce for a crunch, some melted cheese, and then a spicy Thousand-Island type dressing. It all pairs well, has a good chicken portion, and texture variation too. My only desire would be for slightly more lettuce and slightly less cheese, otherwise perfect. Crispy Lotus Root Fries are solid, but not a replacement for typical potato fries. The lotus version was not as crispy or crunchy, but would be an Asian version. It comes with ketchup and the same spicy thousand island dressing as the chicken roll. Lastly we were let down by the Pan Fried Shrimp&Chicken Dumplings (Whole Wheat). The whole wheat wrapping had a very slight texture difference, not as chewy as the typical dumpling wrapping. But the inside was the main focus. It seemed like it was a fishball inside, a homogenous color and texture and more reminiscent of fish than of shrimp. It's possible we got the wrong dumpling. Based on this experience we would not order it again. Wheat wrapping would be fine, but the shrimp/chicken filling would be a no.

The service was impeccable, they cleaned up a table for us and sat us right away. They got us started and we were ready to eat. There's a middle bar area that you could sit at for larger groups, we were a small group so we sat at the 4-person table. The vibes were modern and sleek. Naturally we ordered xiao long bao, beef rolls, cucumber salad, pan fried dumplings, and a ham fried rice. - Xiao Long Bao = amazing, the soup was not boiling hot, the skin was good, flavors were all there. - Beef Rolls = crispy, tasty, good ratio - Cucumber Salad = they paired the meal really well, wasn't too vinegary - Pan Fried Dumplings = also crispy, great flavors, lots of meat which is my favorite - Ham Fried Rice = this one was good, we wanted a rice dish but slightly oily, otherwise it was good. Overall very satisfied with my late night fix, would recommend and be back!

Massive parking lot so that was easy, one friend went ahead and let them know we had 10 incoming. They made room and we sat immediately. One of the spots that you scan a menu at the table and you review, order and pay all in the app. I was really not familiar with the line up and went with the "House Special Beef Pot Roodle" (Roodles are their rice noodles). It was a weekend only item and I tried that. The noodles came separate from the soup. Over all it was very tasty. The meat was a bit fatty and the soup had tendons too. I took that part home and my wife loved it. I tend to avoid the fatty meat and tendons are not good to me. 10 of us so some of the appetizers got passed around. The smashed cucumbers are excellent, and my buddy also got some friend potatoes of sorts, reminded me of a fat French fry. Because my buddy and I sat at the same table we scanned the same menu, he ordered a bunch of stuff and also House Special Beef Pot Roodle. That confused the kitchen and they asked me if I meant to order 2, I said no and didn't realize I cancelled my buddy's order. Part of the confusion of a large party and many scanned menu orders. My buddy was struggling to order and our initial waiter seemed to not understand my friend and that took a little bit to work out, young lady came from the back and was able to quickly resolve some of the confusion and get questions answered as needed. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. Might have to come back with my wife and try this one.

I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.
