Been wanting to try Tasty Garden for so long and it didn't disappoint. Their menu is HUGEEE a little overwhelming but it was part of the fun trying to decide what sounded best for everyone. My standout dish was the honey pork chop, it was so flavorful and tender and crispy- I love a sweet marinade on my meats and Tasty Garden did it super well! Would highly recommend this dish. The beef chow fun and sticky rice were also very good, the textures on all the carbs were on point and went well with the honey pork chop. The bok choy we ordered was good for a veggie dish and was a nice break from the oily food. Will definitely be back to try the other menu items next time I'm craving Chinese! It might take a lifetime to get through this menu, but I'm willing to put in the work

Establishment is relaxed, clean and spacious. Staff was professional and courteous. We ordered: 1. Walnut shrimp: well sauced and crispy, sweet crunchy walnuts 2. Peking pork chop: excellent flavoring, very tender 3. Xo string beans: flavorful and tender TLDR: Excellent service, good food, good establishment, great value. Would recommend!

Wow...I've been living in the Irvine area for around 2.5 years and just found out about this restaurant. It's so difficult to find good Cantonese food in Orange County without driving up to SGV or visiting SF. This place really surprised me in terms of quality and authenticity. The honey walnut shrimp is a classic must-get. The shrimp was fresh and abundant. The soft noodle beef chow mein was super addicting without being oily. The filet-mignon style beef was super tender and rich in flavor. Really recommend going with a group if you can so you can share family style and try more dishes. It got pretty busy during dinner time but we were still able to flag down waiters for questions and to order.

This has been one of my goto authentic Chinese food spots for a min. I usually order for take out, i decided to dine and the service was 10/10 for us on this occasion. Really attentive even though theres only like 3 servers for 20 tables. Free refills on hk milk tea and free refills on rice. Their menu is huge, but honestly it's all a hit. I did they pork bone broth with noodles 5/5. Clean flavor and good pork flavor. Baked pork chop has a good sear and is juicy. Also got the curry fired pork cutlet. Reminds me of like Japanese katsu, 5/5. For how fried and crispy it was i was surprised at how tender and juicy it was.

My friend brought me here for the first time and WOW the dishes here are delicious and authentic! I was actually very surprised because it's hard to find good Cantonese restaurants in Irvine. I got the pea shoots as our veggie, honey walnut shrimp, soft noodle beef chow mein, filet mignon style beef, and the salt and pepper pork chops. Everything was really good and service was quick and attentive. Will definitely be back Pea shoots 5/5 - very good especially with the garlic and is very nostalgic for me Honey walnut shrimp 5/5 - classic dish and the shrimp was extra crispy Chow mein 5/5 - so delicious and very easy to eat a lot of Filet mignon 4/5 - it was good but some of the thicker cut pieces were a bit chewy. The smaller pieces were nice and tender though Salt and pepper pork chops 5/5 - perfectly fried with a nice lean pork chop and is generously portioned

Came to Tasty Garden in Irvine and honestly loved everything we ordered. The honey walnut shrimp was my favorite. It was crispy, sweet, and not too heavy at all. The clam soup was super comforting and light, perfect to balance everything out. We also got the crispy noodles with beef, and the noodles stayed crunchy while soaking up the sauce. On top of that, the service was great. The server was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back and would reorder the same dishes again.

Family style Chinese food is served! I had: 1. Salt and Pepper Pork Chop 2. Sautéed String Beans in XO Spicy Sauce 3. Filet Mignon Fried Rice in Special Sauce 4. Fish Fillet in Sweet & Sour Sauce 5. House Special Chicken with Ginger & Scallion

Our search for good Hong Kong style Chinese food continues. This place was packed on Christmas night, taking ~30 minutes for our party of 5 to get seated. We ordered: N1.House Special Ckn(Half): $20.95 (just average) O2.Peking Style Pork Chop: $19.50 (average) R4.Fish Fillet in Sweet & Sour Sauce: $20.50 (my favorite dish) Y13.Seafood Chow Mein: $19.98 (gummy noodles) Y6.Beef w/ Egg Chow Mein: $18.98 (gamey tasting beef) Everything was just average except the noodles. Noodles were poor; they tasted under-cooked and gummy. I didn't even get a second helping and noodles are usually my favorite. People seem to enjoy this place, but it's just not for me!

If you're looking for an authentic Hong Kong Cafe experience, this is the spot. We ordered a mix of our favorite dishes and they did not disappoint. The interior is also super clean and the servers are wonderful! Baked Seafood with Cream Sauce & Noodles: This was pure comfort food. The sauce was rich and silky, and the corn added a nice sweetness that balanced the savory seafood. There was a variety of seafood like fish, scallops, calamari, and shrimp. Beef Chow Fun (Dry Style): The true test of a HK chef! The 'Wok Hei' was incredible--no excess oil at the bottom of the plate, and the rice noodles had that perfect charred flavor. Fried Chicken Wings with Spicy Salt: Perfectly crispy skin with just the right amount of heat and garlic. They were juicy on the inside and addictive on the outside. Honey Pork Chop with Garlic: A great balance of sweet and savory. The garlic really punched through the honey glaze, one of my favorites of the night! Great portions and fast service. Definitely a must-visit for comfort food!

Haven't been here in a while, but still a great place for a casual HK style lunch. Make sure to come early on weekends and be prepared to wait. After about 25 mins, we were seated and promptly greeted. We ordered a few dishes to share amongst ourselves and they were all pretty tasty. The diced chicken with creamy corn rice was a delicious and comforting home style dish. House special chow mein was my favorite dish, as it was filled with veggies and meats/seafood, and wasn't too salty. Wonton soup was good as far as wonton soups go (I don't usually like this dish, so I'm not the best judge of this dish). The restaurant itself was modern, wait staff were friendly and prompt and atmosphere was lively.

Came here for a dinner on a weekday. The service was amazing as they were very attentive and helpful. Our server recommended a cheaper alternative dish as one of the items we selected was out of season and the recommendation was very tasteful and could become a replacement for the original dish for us. He was also attentive as one of our party dropped their chopsticks and he immediately came over with a new pair without us needing to ask. Food was good as always.

A classic Cantonese spot in Irvine with a comfortable dining space and very convenient parking. The restaurant is clean, bright, and great for family meals or casual gatherings. Prices are reasonable for the area, and the portions are satisfying. We especially enjoyed the jumbo shrimp with scallion and ginger and the flavorful stir-fried clams. Overall, a reliable place when you want traditional Chinese comfort food in a relaxed setting. Would come back again.

Tasty Garden is located in a bustling center with a 99 Ranch Market and many other restaurants and shops. We've dined in and ordered takeout on many occasions. It is one of our regular places when we're in the mood for rice or noodles and some side dishes. They are usually reliable for cranking out our to go orders. A family member was ill and we needed to get some takeout, including porridge, a comforting staple. My husband brought home the food and I was astonished at how much it costed for just four items. Additionally, the taste was nothing special. In fact, the vegetables were overcooked and wilted. We were very disappointed and felt let down, especially when we needed to provide a relative with nourishing food. I'm not certain that we will be ordering food from here for a while. Looks like I'll be on the hunt for another place with better offerings and flavors.

The first time was lunch time during the week for a party of four. It seemed like there was only one lady running the floor and despite not being very busy, it was a loooong lunch. We had a sectioned off space in the back and the place is literally falling apart. We were warned about the loose/missing tiles on the floor. That experience also took way longer, despite having a preset menu ordered in advance. Again, the place seemed very short staffed and they weren't very busy in the main dining area. Not sure if we will return given our recent experiences. Others in our party have commented how it's gone down hill.

We waited one hour on my visit, but that is to be expected as the restaurant is quite small. Beef Rolls (5/5): We got two orders of these, and it was our favorite for a reason. It needed the sauce of course! Spicy Wontons (4/5): These are solid and the chili oil does pack a lot of heat. I would say they are on the spicier side, just wish there was a little more depth to it. Seven Grams XLB (4/5): Juicy and flavorful! Not the absolute best I've had, but still worth ordering. Golden Beef Noodle Soup (5/5): This bowl right here was amazing. Green leafy kale paired with the extra hearty soup was what made this bowl a standout dish for me. 100% would order this alone! Mapo Tofu (5/5): Yummy silky tofu cubes with the minced meat sauce were delicious in every bite! I had no other complaints, but this dish gets very filling easily. Seriously, this place is one of my favorite places in Tustin. The service one inside is efficient, and the ambience is a bit noisy and packed, but this place is popular for a reason. I'll definitely revisit this spot when I get the chance.

Seating consider is around 10 tables plus hjgh top stools, so if you are a large group the wait can be long. We stopped by yesterday to try out some new items, which were a mixed bag. First the Cheese Chicken Roll was surprisingly good. Imagine the Beef Roll and swap things around to get something off of a fancy KFC menu. It features a crispy flaky tortilla outside, wrapped around copious chicken (katsu texture), some lettuce for a crunch, some melted cheese, and then a spicy Thousand-Island type dressing. It all pairs well, has a good chicken portion, and texture variation too. My only desire would be for slightly more lettuce and slightly less cheese, otherwise perfect. Crispy Lotus Root Fries are solid, but not a replacement for typical potato fries. The lotus version was not as crispy or crunchy, but would be an Asian version. It comes with ketchup and the same spicy thousand island dressing as the chicken roll. Lastly we were let down by the Pan Fried Shrimp&Chicken Dumplings (Whole Wheat). The whole wheat wrapping had a very slight texture difference, not as chewy as the typical dumpling wrapping. But the inside was the main focus. It seemed like it was a fishball inside, a homogenous color and texture and more reminiscent of fish than of shrimp. It's possible we got the wrong dumpling. Based on this experience we would not order it again. Wheat wrapping would be fine, but the shrimp/chicken filling would be a no.
