Ordered online for pick up. They didn't follow initial order, had to return. Worst cheesesteak. Very little meat, no flavor. Raw onions, not sautéed. Meh. Do better Brian. The onion rings were crispy and good. Not rushing back anytime soon. read more

This place is very popular, having a reservation is a good idea especially for dinner. We sat outside on their covered patio, very eclectic. Service was wonderful, very attentive and pleasant. The food was great but a lot of it, my friend got the meatloaf and had lunch for the next day and I took my Mac n cheese home and it heated up great. read more

Considering all the rave reviews we expected to be blow away by the food, but it was just an ok experience for us. If we are ever on that end of MD we may give it another go, but we won't make another trip to Frederick just to eat here. Pros- Beautiful environment; attentive staff; Beautifully plated food; Plenty of parking; Reasonably Priced; Good food portions Con- With the exception of the pancakes the food was a bit bland; Coffee wasn't hot (but, if I'm honest, rarely does a restaurant get the temp of coffee right lol). If you're in the area, give this place a try. I just wouldn't recommend driving 45mins just to eat here. read more

Came in for brunch with my dogs. The service was great...brought my dogs water and didn't look at me weird when I ordered them their own eggs:-) I had huaveos Rancheros...which were very good. My only suggestion is they need to drain the grease off the sausage little more..but then I know sone folks like that so just a personal preference. I captured a picture of the dogs on the patio but got so excited about my food I ate it without taking a photo lol We will definitely be back for the waffle read more

After reading many reviews on Yelp concerning the Showroom I decided to give them a try for lunch a few days ago. Overall it was a good experience; however, I do have a few comments that might be helpful for management - I found the atmosphere and service to be very good, service was prompt and I found it interesting that beside bar seating, by sitting on the side of the bar you also had your own server, (besides the bartender.) For a place that advertises a "full bar" was disappointed in the fact that they did not offer Jack Daniel's as a choice for bourbon - first time I've ever seen that in a "full" bar... I was there for lunch so not sure if thst made a difference, but i found their menu to be limited more towards the "brunch" crowd - there was only 1 burger option which was a double. I ordered the Cheesesteak with Duck Fat fries. The fries were nice and hot, nice crisp to them, and the portion was quite ample - very pleased. The Cheesesteak sandwich also was good sized, served on a hoagie bun with a nice, fresh rexture, although a bit dry - it was difficult to tell what cheese was used for the cheese sauce - and the way it was drizzled on the outer edge of the steak was almost like it was added as an after thought, disappointing. Although with the minor disappointments i experienced I found The Showroom to be satisfying, but with the numerous lunch options that Frederick has to offer not sure when I will be returning. read more

We went for brunch this past Saturday and were really impressed! They open nice and early and have lots of options for breakfast! I got the breakfast sandwich and the combo of the egg and avocado was really tasty as was the apple cider mimosa. The French omelet was good too, but would have been better with some cheese! If we are ever in the Frederick area again, we would come here! read more

Great service and great food. Went there for lunch once and brunch this past Saturday, had an awesome experience both times. I think the owner is there, if not it was certainly run like the owner is on-site and wants to make sure everyone is having a great meal. I had the breakfast sandwich, one of the best I've ever had. read more

We had a lovely brunch here over MDW. We started with home fries with rosemary for the table and some waffles with banana compote. Those potatoes -- WOW. Cooked perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy and soft on the inside, and with an aioli perfect for dipping. Absolutely recommend getting those. The waffles were also a standout for me as they were just slightly crispy but then fluffy/chewy and holding real banana yummy-ness. My husband got the huevos rancheros and I got the breakfast sandwich minus the bacon on rye bread. We both felt these dishes were well made overall but just a bit bland for us. Happily, our friendly, happy, sweet server gave us some hot sauce that gave our entrees the kick they needed. I will say if you get the sandwich (and you should) just get it on something more substantial than rye because that bread just couldn't handle all those fillings. Also consider asking them to go easy on the Mayo unless you REALLY love mayo because it is a lot. Nevertheless, I'd come back for breakfast (especially if those potatoes stay on the menu). It's probably not the absolute best brunch in the area but it's still very good. read more

Unfortunate breakfast. Pancakes tasted like baking soda. They made it right and even the cook admitted they didn't look right. If they don't look right, don't serve them. Service is just ok. Breakfast service should include coffee refills, checking on food once it comes out etc. Basic stuff. All in all it was a just ok dining experience. Wish it were otherwise. Food was good enough in the end. Just not amazing. read more

Excellent! Chicken pot pie and chive and cheese biscuit to start, both very tasty. Kept one of the biscuits to have with the soup. Double burger was perfect and the roasted beet salad was spot on. High point was the strawberry compote that came with the biscuits. Just like granny's! Site of the restaurant was nothing special, a slightly run down commercial area, but the food and atmosphere inside made up for it. Not too expensive either. Recommended! read more

Delicious breakfast and donuts! I had the chicken and waffles while my friend had the traditional breakfast. Highly recommended. The chicken was very crispy and flavorful and the waffles had honey (but also syrup on the side)--perfect combination for my appetite! The homemade donuts were really good and not too sweet! Hats off to the chef and cooks! Wait staff was very prompt and friendly too! Would definitely visit again! read more

We wanted to try it because of all the amazing reviews but we didn't have the best experience. Service slacked, they kind of forgot about us which is weird because there weren't that many people. My food was great, I ordered a French omelette with goat cheese and caramelized onions. There was so much goat cheese I could swim in it, it was perfect! My husband ordered their biscuits and sausage gravy that wasn't as great. The gravy was cold when we got it, the sunny side egg on top of it didn't mix well with it, and the biscuit was undercooked. Overall, the omelettes are a 5 star, our experience cannot be higher than 3. read more

Fantastic experience! Reservations- we would highly recommended for the busy brunch time on a Sunday. We enjoyed the heated patio during rain storm! Service was friendly, helpful and kind. They actually took one item off of my bill because it came late. A group of five enjoyed sharing the pot pie fritters, onion rings and deviled eggs. A few of us got drinks- I enjoyed that they had ceremony coffee which is a very high quality local roastery. Friends enjoyed their Maryland bloody Marys which came with pickled vegetables and Old Bay shrimp on top! One of our diners enjoyed a strawberry marshmallow milkshake as well, it came with extra still in the metal cup! My friends ordered the fried chicken which came in a really fun plate shaped like a chicken! It was more than enough for one meal and they took some home with them. I thoroughly enjoyed the fried chicken and waffle, perfectly fried chicken thigh, with a hot honey and pickled peppers on top. I also got a side of potatoes which were super crispy and tasty. On our way out I noticed donuts in a display case and bought one with cash. The cookies and cream donut was the icing on the cake!! After two years now, we've made dining at Showroom part of our annual visit to Frederick for the half marathon! read more

AWESOME!!! Went here on Easter with my mom and the Boo and it definitely did not disappoint. I was glad to see that they kept a few menu items from Family Meal but also had some new items to choose from. From start to finish this place scored 5 STARS! Our waiter was attentive, helpful, and although he was busy, he made us feel like we were getting top notch service. Our drinks were delicious, appetizers more than satisfying, entrees were HUGE and flavorful, and desserts (yeah I said desserts with a plural s) were phenomenal. I'll definitely be back to support this establishment and to bring friends. read more

What a disappointment! Was really looking forward to having dinner here but couldn't get seated in a virtually empty restaurant. The inexperienced hostesses said the tables were spoken for at 5:30, all 10 of them. We sat at the bar for over an hour and all the tables were still empty. I asked again if we could get a table. This was obviously annoying to them and they sat us at one of the many empty tables. We then sat for 20 minutes and not one waiter even said hello or gave us water. Guess that was our punishment for asking to actually eat and spend money in their fine establishment. We left and went to Oscar's. They had a full house and their wonderful and polite hostesses told us approximately ten minute wait. In 9, we were seated and had a wonderful dinner. Walked back by Showroom to get our cars, still empty. Do better read more

My husband and I were visiting Frederick MD for a few days. We stopped by Showroom during their Brunch hour. We ordered the Deviled Eggs for starters. Next, we each ordered an omelet. His with Andouille Sausage, mine was the Spinach and Swiss Cheese Omelet. We enjoyed everything we ordered and also had very nice service. The Showroom is a good restaurant located in an industrial/warehouse area with plenty of parking that's not available in downtown Frederick. read more

The showroom is very good! I went for my mother-in-law's birthday brunch in February 2022. I had the chicken & the egg sandwich, which was so delicious and filling. My husband and I split the chicken pot pie fritters, which were also pretty good. They brought out a Sundae/brownie for my MIL's birthday, and the ice creams and brownie were also solid. I would definitely return on a trip to Frederick. read more

So, we have been trying Frederick restaurants and saw this one driving by. We saw the menu and almost did a U turn to go here the first time we saw it. We came back the next week. The decor is very nice from the outside and also inside the restaurant. We ordered: Pimento dip, Burger, Nashville chicken sandwich. Pimento was ok, pickles were great, and the corn pancakes were ok. Burger was very burnt, I'm not a pro-griller so I know a burnt burger, and one like this I wouldn't give it to anyone (not even my worst enemy) Ok, maybe my worst enemy. Chicken sandwich was ok, not a lot of chicken and compared to a chickfila flavor, it's a 3 out of 10. I would describe the food as ok. We wanted to really like it and appreciated the manager coming out after we complained about the burnt burger. He was very professional but could have left the comment of "maybe next time ask for medium well, instead of well done" out. I also manage people; I can respect a manager backing his cook. Unfortunately, it is misplaced, and the cook did not want to admit he messed up, I mean we've asked for well-done burgers at other restaurants without this problem. He gave us a free desert so there was effort there. Pro: Decor is nice, the food looks good, great service Cons: The food is just barley ok compared to others in the area with similar menus and prices. I wish the restaurant the best, but it will need to get much better if it wants customers to come back especially since Frederick has some of the best places to eat. read more

Another Yelp find, nice place, seated on the heated patio, although the heat wasn't on. Ordered the cheesesteak, pretty tasty...but wayyyy too much salt or seasoning., other than that I would have given 5 stars. The mushroom soup was okay.. more of a purée, I thought it was gonna be full of mushrooms, however it was tasty. The Nashville chicken sandwich was not bad at all and the waffles with banana compote were Good. The only issue with having it on the waffle is it makes the waffle soggy. Maybe having it on the side is best. Overall not a bad place at all. read more

I was in town for a wedding and wanted to grab some breakfast. I did my Yelp research and stumbled upon this place. The establishment was very nice and had an outside area for people to dine outside. I sat at the bar and ordered cheese biscuits and an omelette. The biscuits were homemade and were absolutely delicious. I even went back there the next day to grab some to take home with me. I told the management that they should use those biscuits for a breakfast sandwich, so hopefully they take my advice (you can name it after me lol). The omelette was light and fluffy and the potatoes were nice and crispy. Definitely next time I'm in Frederick I will be stopping by. read more

The duck fat fries were the best part! We had collard greens, duck breast, and steak, and all of it was fine but nothing spectacular. Beet salad had a few beets and what felt like a giant bag of arugula- just a little imbalanced as a dish. We love thatcher and rye so maybe that was what made it difficult to be wowed. We will try again and try different things. Vibes are super chill and near a cute brewery. Service was good overall. read more

Great expanded menu. We really enjoyed our recent visit. We had the wonderful burger and duck fries, shrimp and grits and meat loaf.

We've been visiting Frederick for weekend getaways for several years and have always included meals at Showroom and its earlier in incarnation Family Meal to our itinerary. Yesterday we went there for brunch, arriving after 10:00 a.m., obviously after the breakfast rush, as the restaurant was pretty empty. Although there were several staff members behind the counter, after the host seated us. no one came to our table to greet us or offer us water and/or coffee. After waiting over 10 minutes, we flagged the host to ask for service. Finally, a server, Sasha, came over to take our orders, not apologizing until we registered our annoyance. A few minutes later he returned to ask how we liked our meals. Unfortunately, that was the last we saw of him. We had to flag other servers and bus persons for refills of water and coffee and later, after waiting for quite a long time, to get our check. As I said, the restaurant was very empty with just a few other customers inside but there were several servers and bus persons standing around chatting and laughing among themselves but completely ignoring us. I'm not sure Bryan Voltaggio still owns the restaurant, perhaps it's under new ownership and/or management. What I'm sure of is that the quality of its service has changed dramatically for the worse and that we won't be going back. Update: The restaurant IS under new ownership. That explains it... read more

Our party of three ate at Showroom for breakfast at 10:15 on a Monday morning, when the restaurant did not appear to be busy. We had a reservation, and were shown to our table right away. This review is lackluster because of the mainly indifferent service we experienced. We were seated for at least 10 minutes -- again, when the restaurant did not appear to be particularly busy -- before any staff member approached our table. We had to flag someone down to request water. We had to flag someone down to request coffee. Once our server came and took our orders, the service was more correct for a short time: he came back twice to refill our coffees and asked how the food was. We did not see him again after that. We had to flag someone down to ask for more water. We had to flag someone down to take our credit card. Someone other than our server brought the bill even though our server appeared to be in conversation with other staff members. If this was an establishment where we could ask any staff member for anything -- which hasn't been our previous experience at Showroom -- that wasn't explained to us. The food, when it came, was up to Showroom's usual very good standards. We visit Frederick several times a year and Showroom has always been a go-to breakfast/brunch option for us. I'm sorry to say that after this experience we'll be taking it off the rotation. read more

Showroom is a great place for brunch or breakfast. The flavors are robust, and the service is pretty swift until about half way in. We had (3) people engaging one table. The decor is modern and inviting, and the restrooms are extremely clean. Not only is this a safe place to dine post pandemic, but a delicious, airy space to enjoy communion. read more

The meatloaf was disappointing. The mushroom gravy and meatloaf tasted like it wasn't made with any meat. I had to double check the menu online to see if I accidentally ordered a vegetarian dish. The loaf was more like a bread texture dotted with carrots. It was lacking flavor in general. I did enjoy the pimento cheese appetizer. read more

Ambiance and service were excellent and the açaí banana split was so delicious, a perfect balance of many different components. Only misfire was underdone eggs. Went for a weekend brunch. Foods were very tasty service was great, family friendly! Except ...for a little glitch happened after we ordered our foods, with unknown reason we waited for a very long time for our foods to come out, and there were only 3 tables at that time including us. The restaurant felt bad and gave us some complimentary biscuits, but still, this was not good for 1st impression ‍ hence the 4 star. So Showroom is essentially or should i say basically a rebranded family meal, some of the staples are still on the menu like the fried chicken tho they use a honey hot sauce and the chicken taste different but its good nonetheless, all the times i have been has been pick-up. I was really sad to hear Family meal was closed, but so happy to find out it's Showroom now and my favorites are still on the menu! The duck fat fries are a must! Always get those. Their onion rings are also my favorite in town, I always order them when we go there. The 1/2 a fried chicken is great, the meat loaf is on point especially when they serve it with string beans. I like to try different drinks every time and they are always good. Its nice that they change the menu too. Desserts are good but i always feel like they need more chocolate options :) that never hurts right. Im sure i will be back soon enough. read more
