Shore has a friendly but chic vibe to it, and a staff who seem happy to work there and proud about the quality of food and drink. This would be a great date dinner spot as well as a lovely place to kick back and enjoy a gorgeous seafood dinner. My vodka martini and glass of Chardonnay were great, the Chenin Blanc by the glass was also worth ordering. We loved the wood grilled oysters in a zingy citrus and spice sauce. They were a thrill to the tongue and you got the perfect amount of smokiness. The blue cheese wedge was so good. I wouldn't mind a less salty bacon, but it was still so good that I made it all go away. I loved how the tomatoes and cucumbers tasted like they'd been individually tossed in good olive oil and lemon even though the wedge had a classic creamy blue cheese dressing. Shore's chef is really bringing all the flavor to the dish components. The whole fried red snapper in mojo de ajo was glorious. We split a two pound version between the three of us and that was just right. The snapper was fresh, tender, and tasty, and it was served with components of pico, cabbage, delicious black beans, very good rice, tortillas... I recommend Shore! read more

Slow service with abundant staff. When inquiring about type of fish was advised it was red fish. It was not, clearly pink salmon, overcooked. The rice was white sticky, probably a Jasmin rice, but with a taco Mexican would have been more appropriate. Hot sauce (puréed). Over priced and not impressed. When advised about fish type he checked with chef who confirmed it was salmon. I would never have chosen salmon for a fish taco. They did take half off to offset error. Ambiance was nice. We will not be back, Jack Allen fish tacos are top shelf compared with Shore Raw Bar. Disappointing!! read more

I've been coming here on the regular for the past year or so. Although it's a commitment to get here from across town; it's worth the drive. The bartenders are great and the HH menu is hard to beat. If you are there for HH drinks, make sure you are specific about what you order. It's happened to me and I've heard it happen to other customers. I have ordered the "happy hour Sauvignon blanc" (specifically saying HH). I have been served a SB but it wasn't the HH one. I feel when you say "happy hour" they should let you know or ask "do you want the HH white"? I would say it's a one off but it's happened multiple times when I've been there. The oysters are 50% off all day on Mondays and during HH every day (3-6). That's a great deal and they are all great ones! I have had almost everything on the HH menu. Last week, I finally tried the calamari and it was fantastic. It was light. The sauce was delish. I would get it again. Get to shore for a great HH. Shore Raw Bar & Grill is a high end seafood restaurant with a cool jazzy vibe. There are different seating areas from indoor, outdoor and bar. That also have a private room to rent out for events and business meetings and has its own bar. Live music is scheduled here too. I wanted to try a new drink on the menu and selected the Smoked Old Fashioned. It cool to see the bartender prepare it for me where he added smoke to it. The drink was really good. I ordered the Roasted Chilean Sea Bass and it was just delicious. It was presented beautifully where the fish had great flavor with a tasty crust on top of roasted garlic rice. This is our neighborhood restaurant so we go here a lot. Had the Gulf Coast Seafood Duo last night. Oh my! Fried flounder with fresh crab on a bed of Louisiana dirty rice. Best dish ever!!!! First time visiting this restaurant and I had the soup and salad. The server made a recommendation and told me to get etoufee over the seafood gumbo. Luckily, I did. My partner had the gumbo and I didn't care for it. He said the shrimp po boy was excellent and he liked the gumbo. It was a bit too salty for me. 3.5 Stars Came here for a Friday night dinner - casual but stylish seafood and steak spot with some Cajun and Mexican inspired dishes. I had some bites of the fried calamari appetizer ($19) - nice and crispy but could have used more salt / seasoning. Oysters were great ($114 for 24 oysters). I also had a cup of the crawfish etouffee ($6) and Salmon Tartare ($22). The etoufee was rich and buttery and had a nice amount of crawfish. I found a super long hair in mine though, which was kind of gross, hence the 3 star. The Salmon Tartare was fresh, zingy, and had copious amounts of avocado. The wonton chips were super crispy and great. "Everything was great. Meal was outstanding". - friend Craig who ordered the Lobster Tail Elle, our server, was cheery and wonderful. I would not recommend this restaurant. I used to love this place, which is why today's experience was so disappointing. I ordered oysters and watched the person shucking them notice that one looked off. He smelled it, seemed unsure, and still placed it on my plate and served it to me. That oyster was a completely different shade of gray than the others and had an unpleasant, off smell. The server was very quiet to the point that we could barely hear her, and we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. Overall, this experience was concerning and disappointing. The Shore is chugging away with a plomb. Although we still laugh about my $50 Margarita experience with the barkeeps, they have become part of the reason why we go. If not, one of the biggest reasons. Not that eating there isn't a draw, its more that Suzie is allergic to Shellfish so there are limitations to the menu for her. When we do us, we pull up to the bar on the far right corner and either Carlos, Laura, Royce or new guy Brandon who has come in for the departed Jamey, who now calls Arizona home, welcome us with a smile. We enjoy a great deal of banter with these folks, which makes the visit most excellent. When the owner is in house, he always gives me a wink and comes over the check in with us. Royce is quite the mixologist (and artist btw). He enjoys creating unique mixes. Laura has a smile and laugh that will melt anyone's heart and is quick to make sure we are well lubricated with our drinks. Carlos rounds out the team and we can share recipes, like me, he likes to cook. Brandon has slotted himself well into the team. We don't have a favorite, they are all professional, capable and enjoy their job. Drinks aside, we most definitely order the Boudin, just about every time. Crispy casing, great dipping sauce and those pickled onions are the bomb. We like the Crudo and the Tartare as well. The later comes with an HEB Family Bag Size Tortilla chips. However, these are in house made, thick and crispy. This is a huge serving, we generally ask them to pair that down. I hate to see them being tossed out. At times, the aji amarillo oil, jalapeño, leche de tigre can be a tad bit heavy on the Crudo for me, it doesn't stop me from noshing my way through it. Since I am the Oyster eater, I always seem to get a half dozen or so and mix up the PEI's to get a sense of the difference of flavors. I also like them just the way they are so I opt out of any accoutrements that generally come with the oysters. Crackers come along for the ride. They have a room off to the side which is for special functions and I keep forgetting about using this room for a business meeting, I need to jump on that. The weather is making the outside seating area something to consider. Recently when we were there, they had a wedding receptions outside and the table settings were amazing! We would miss the "crew" at the bar tho. There is a corner dedicated to live music. A little place for some folks to play and serenade diners inside. I usually am not a fan of live music, but when a band was there the noise level was appropriate to the space. The space itself always has great art, currently an amazing collection of photographs. Due to this location being outside of the Austin neighborhood, we didn't have high expectations for this restaurant that his seated on the side of State Highway 71 (in what looks like a strip mall). All the things ordered were wonderfully enjoyed. The blackberry margarita, muddled with actual blackberries. The fried gulf shrimp, crunchy and tasty on their own but also delicious with the house made sauces. The shoelace/matchstick fries were fun too! Woodfire oysters? Yes. Get them. Unique and a perfect cross-taste of Gulf and Louisiana-Cajun flavors. A must to order. The Gulf Seafood Duo - a dish that is good enough to split by two. Parmesan crusted red snapper butterflied and prepared with lump blue crab, and dirty rice that has sausage. The simple white wine cream sauce? Yum! Finally, homemade vanilla ice cream. Yup. We haven't been back for a while so we decided to come for New Year's Eve dinner. It was the best! Excellent service from Sydney and great food! We got the New Year's Eve special. I got the Chilean Bass with rice and Asparagus; my husband got surf and turf Wagyu. We "loved" our meal!! Cooked perfectly. We are hoping they make this part of the menu because that's part of the reason why we do not frequent Shore restaurant anymore. We have tried most of the entrées in the past, wanted something new. I love oysters and I'm always in search of a new place to try them. This place was recommended by a friend so my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. We sat at the oyster bar, which was really cool to see all the different oysters and watch the chef prepare them. Manolo was our oyster chef and he did a great job at suggesting which ones to try and even prepared a couple with some caviar for us! Large open dining room with outdoor seating. I think the add for salmon to a salad was something like 24 on a 20 salad. There are just too many good salmon salads in town for 25 total to make sense of this place. Servers had better things to do, I guess. Wouldn't call it bad, just not worth mentioning. It was fine. Lobster roll was fine. Not good, not bad. Fries were good! I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was worth noting. The restaurant was nearly empty when I went maybe only 5 tables filled and probably less than 10 people in restaurant, yet the manager came over to ask me to lower my voice while I was having a conversation at the bar. I don't believe it was rowdy in the slightest, and the way he addressed it felt more pretentious than professional. If you're running a hospitality business, how you approach guests matters just as much as the food and atmosphere. Instead of creating an awkward and unnecessary moment, a better choice might have been to either ignore it (given the noise level in the place already was) or approach in a way that doesn't make your customers feel policed. The interaction left me with the impression that management doesn't realize how off-putting this kind of behavior is--and unfortunately, it reflects poorly on the entire team. read more

Shore is a little bit out of our neck of the woods, but we found ourselves in the area and craving seafood so stopped by for a late lunch. We weren't sure what to expect but definitely were not disappointed. The raw PEI oysters (I don't remember the variety we ordered) and Lobster Roll were delicious and reminiscent of what we've had in the Northeast. The Blue Crab Fingers, though, stole the show--do not miss out on these perfectly buttery, lemony, garlicky, melt-in-your mouth, bites of blue crab heaven. We'd never had crab prepared this way but will definitely be back for that dish alone. Service was fast, friendly, and professional. Wife and I stumbled on this way out on 71 past the Y. Wife loves Oysters and Octopus, so we figured why not. It was happy hour and great deals. Server was very attentive. Recommended a mix of dozen oysters which the wife appreciated. Gave you a taste of various regions including big Texas sized Gulf Oysters. Also tried some grilled oysters which were really good and had nice spice to them. Calamari was perfect. Not too soft or too rubbery. I've gone 2 times. Around 6 months apart from each visit. I actually had the same server both times (He wasn't friendly, very rushed and stressed the whole time) and had the same situation happen both times which is crazy to say. We got 2 burgers and one for my son. Both times all the burgers got messed up. Forgetting cheese on a Cheeseburger? I like Medium Rare but felt both times they were too rare for me. We spent $100 and didn't even have alcohol. Definitely not going back and if I could go back I would prob order sea food over a burger. read more

Shrimp PoBoy - can never go wrong. The fries that come with it are perfection too. Excellent choice. 4. Blackened Shrimp Tacos - not small size tacos and comes with a side of rice and black beans. This is our second visit so I decided it was time to write a review. You get what you pay for and def not cheap! But we will keep coming back. It's a little drive for us coming from Lakeway, but it's worth the effort! These guys deliver on fresh shrimp, oysters, cod, and redfish every time. However, my only disappointment is on the portion size of the redfish in the tacos. For $26ish I feel like I got maybe 2 oz of fish per taco. The cook was perfect. The flavors totally balanced. Just wish there was a bit more fish. Husbands blackened shrimp Tacos were loaded with 5-6 shrimp per taco but the blackened element was not as prominent as he'd hoped. Still he enjoyed them and may order again. The apps were the real winners today, and the Fried Calamari and Pick 6 Fried dinner were PERFECTO last visit. Def will stay on our list when we want good seafood, and you should stop in - even go out of your way. You won't be disappointed. read more

I'm surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating. We've been here a handful of times, and everything we've tried has been delicious. I love their shrimp poboys, but their Texan Steakhouse burger is by far the best burger in town! It's rich, salty, sweet, and spicy! The shrimp gumbo was also very delicious. They also have some of the best desserts in town. Don't miss out on the tres leches and the chocolate mousse. The service is great and pretty fast. So. A little mixed review here. As far as the food and service go, we have never had anything but a 5 star experience. Its priced that way and you get what you pay for. The chef and staff at this place are ridiculously good. Where it takes a left turn - there are big screen tvs all over the place. Its like eating 5 star seafood in a sports bar. Very bizarre to us. The advantage seriously is they are in our neighborhood but honestly Eddie V's and Trulucks both offer a much better fine dining atmosphere. When the weather permits, you can sit outside - and so for a couple of weeks a year this is great. We will continue to occasionally go, but the TV's will keep us from making it a favorite. read more

Great place and we will no doubt be back. We have driven past many times but never gave it a second thought until finally one day we looked up the menu and knew we just had to try. Right off the 71 and plenty of parking so very easy to access. There is a large raw bar you can sit at and a regular bar. And there is plenty of indoor and outdoor traditional seating. Shortly after being seated, we were greeted and told about the specials as well as our drink orders taken. This was my first time try 512 Brewery and have to say that it's now one of my favorites! We started off with salads; we ordered the Caesar and Blue Cheese Wedge and both were amazing. We are big fans of "peel & eat" shrimp, so whenever we find a place that's serving it... we have to try. They advertise their shrimp as "Gulf" shrimp and I have to say, since moving to Austin, we have had some fresh Gulf shrimp and it is some of the freshest shrimp ever! While this was good shrimp, it wasn't as good as some we have had from sellers who bring it fresh from the gulf waters. They also use very large shrimp; the size you would expect for a shrimp cocktail but not for peel & eat shrimp. Whenever I have had peel & eat shrimp at any other place, they usually serve a pound of 16/20 or maybe 11/15 size shrimp. I'm not sure this was a pound as it doesn't state on the menu and we didn't ask but again, these are shrimp you would traditional get in a jumbo shrimp cocktail. It came with an unusual cocktail sauce. The sauce did have a nice spiciness to it, but there was some other flavor that we didn't really like. We ate it, but it would have been nice if it was just traditional cocktail sauce with a side of horseradish. They cook the shrimp in Old Bay seasoning which is amazing! Very few places use Old Bay but happily they do. And the shrimp definitely could have been chilled more. The shrimp meat wasn't as firm as you would expect; sometimes when places boil the shrimp, they don't spend enough time letting it cool down to firm up the meat. We will have to come back someday to try some of their fish dishes. They have monitors on the wall and seem to show quite a bit of sports, so no doubt this would be a great place for football when the season starts back up soon. But if you are seafood lover, you will certainly enjoy this place. read more
