Came here on a Friday night, and as expected on a Friday night it was fairly busy. Went to inquire about the wait time, I was told 30-40 minutes. Not a problem, typical of a Friday dinner wait. But tell me why, the waiter then says, "if you order the premium AYCE we can seat you right away" I'm sorry, when did getting a table at a restaurant become a bidding war? I felt immediately offended, it was extremely off putting, and the nerve of this location to do that given the only reason we opted here was because we were in the area and not wanting to drive to our regular Garden Grove location. Their isn't much selection of meats to choose from and the quality isn't as good compared to most other places, but they get the job done. The best part is that if you come after 10pm any day of the week you can choose the lunch/late night 25.99 menu which is a great deal, there's also not too much of a crowd at this time. He ensured food came out fast, but more importantly, he took the time to notice and observe the table. When part of the grill was burning and starting to overcook, he swapped it out without us saying anything. Although sometimes it can be a bit tedious as I don't really want someone to cook brisket for me since it's simple to do so. The meat quality wasn't bad and was pretty average. I want to mention that one order of brisket contained a lot of meat which was good since I didn't have to keep asking. Their banchan is pretty good too. You need to order salad separately. Don't get the bulgogi, you're just asking to get disappointment. The kimchi stew and steamed egg were pretty good. The pork belly was nice and flavorful. I paid for the menu B which contained 30 kinds of meat and it costs 33.99. The cheaper version is around 26 bucks. Overall, I think this is probably one of the cheaper kbbq places in Irvine but wouldn't go here again. I'd go else where for kbbq. read more

Personally, the worst thing about getting KBBQ at any decent place is the wait, whether it's for getting in or for service. For that I have to commend Shik Do Rak for getting my boyfriend and I in and out of there in 30 minutes. I waitlisted ahead of time on Yelp so was seated promptly at 6pm on a Thursday. We usually last about 3-4 rounds of maxed out AYCE orders before tapping out, and our server was super on top of it! Came by at the perfect time each round to make sure our sides and drinks were stocked and meat orders fulfilled. My personal fav is the brisket, but the short rib is not bad too.
