Running a bar/restaurant isn't easy. One visit here will tell you that. Some nights the place is packed, other nights they close early due to lack of patrons. The fish and chips is really good. I have had both good and bad shrimp skewers there. The beer selection is very good. It is a full bar. The staff tries hard to accommodate but it doesn't always work out. There is a fair amount of interplay among the staff that adds nothing to the ambiance. I was there for trivia night last week. The bar was completely unprepared for the guy who was to present it. There was no PA. The music kept everyone from knowing there was going to be a trivia contest. It seemed like there was no plan. The pool table is in good shape and only three quarters and usually there is enough room to actually play a few games. The front patio has a good view of Rainbow Harbor Marina. I have only seen a couple of bands there, but they were great. In good weather they set up in the patio and if the band brings it, the sound is good. Since I find myself in the area many nights, I have been there quite a few times. It has a more relaxed vibe and better prices than the Y.H. around the corner and a lot of YH employees use it as their wind down spot after their shift. This may be the only non-chain fully licensed establishment in Shoreline Village. read more

Shenanigans was absolutely awesome. I ate there the last day of my spring break before heading back to Vegas and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. The wings came out piping hot and the sauce was great, we had a dozen, half BBQ and half classic buffalo. My girlfriend had the fish and chips. The fish was massive and crispy with delicious fries. I had the Irish stew and a separate side of garlic fries. The stew had big chunky parts of beef and delicious broth. The soda bread soaked it all up nicely. The garlic fries were seasoned well and crisp. As for the drinks, there was a massive selection of beer. I chose the Bailey's shake which was soooooo good. I am so happy going there and will definitely return when I go back to Long Beach. read more

I love this place! The atmosphere and the staff are awesome and the food is pretty tasty. I think the only downside is at peak hours you have to turn in to an animal to get a spot on the couch, haha! that thing is so comfortable. It can get very crowded in there though so you might have to rub a few elbows to get around in there. Onto the patio... It's great being able to sit outside and watch the band while having a drink, or dinner and feeling the nice cool breeze. I am definitely going back this weekend. read more

My wife and I decided to have lunch at Shenanigans. We had been their previously, however this time was not a great experience. Granted it was a busy weekend but my wife's cheeseburger came out very under cooked almost raw. The server didn't ask how she wanted it cooked and my wife chalked it up to it being her fault as not indicating how she wanted her burger prepared. Beers were priced well, service was pretty good. Billed as an Irish pub but the music is mostly pop or wrap and the decor is hardly Irish. That being said, it's a nice place to have a few beers that are priced appropriately and served quickly. read more

Sadley I ordered food trough LABite, they are good at delivery, no complaints, but once it and the delivery and the surcharge and the tip are paid, there is not much you can do to complain. I got sliders....on stale 49¢ a pack grocery store buns...I did not see the cheese or taste the horseradish. But then there are the potato pancakes. I am certain they are nothing more than a smooshed tater tot. Really bad, which is sad, if they were great, I would have gone in person many times...Lost my business before I ever set foot inside. read more

We have been here a few times in the past and decided to walk over during the TGPLB weekend for some better food and beer. The beers were cold and the food was decent but the service was weak. After five minutes of waiting for a greeting or service from anyone I had to leave my table and walk to the bar to order drinks because your servers were inattentive and not very friendly. We finished those beers before anyone greeted us and ultimately had to flag down someone to help us for more drinks and to place a food order. After all the horrible service I found out you charged an automatic tip to my bill without any notification or signage stating "we have bad service here, regardless how you think you were treated and served by your server you must still tip". I'm going to fight that auto tip with my CC company because you cannot make someone tip especially for service that was subpar. No need to respond to my post because with all the bad reviews you already have everyone will know I speak the truth and it will just make you look sad & pathetic trying to come up with an excuse. read more

I just got over-charged by the bartender. She said they go by denominations of .25 cents. Willing to pay my tab, but not more than I owe. To overcharge is theft, and she thought nothing of it. Yes! I am a True Patron and a Fan going on 5 years! The fish and chips are the bomb..very generous serving and I will die for those succulent Crab Cakes..yum. Monday is full happy hour and the laid back atmosphere really sets the pace. Although at times service is slow especially when outside but that I guess it goes with the theme of an Irish homely Pub. This place is not for snobs or wannabe socialites. Relax and just kick back and you will appreciate. Shenanigans remains my hang-out spot with my baby. I read some of your angry reviews. You need to be fair. Write objective reviews. Not because something about a place displeases you means that you have to use the internet as a means of bashing. You might not like the service but the food might be awesome! then say it! The decor might be cool, state that. I have gone to many places and if all I was looking for were faults then there would be countless! I will admit that service takes time at this restaurant especially when you are outside. Just finished eating here while waiting to board a cruise and had the worst service I've ever experienced. My friend and I sat outside on the patio and our waitress barely spoke to us. I was willing to chock it up to her having a bad day but then she was extra friendly and cheerful with the tables in front and behind us. We had luggage with us so maybe she doesn't like tourists or people in their mid-20's but for some reason, she refused to say a word to us. We got a brief "Drinks?" after waiting 15 minutes for her to even come see us after throwing menus at us silently, and then "Are you ready to order?" another 15 minutes after that. She picked up our plates without asking if we were finished, threw our check at us, and then picked it up: ALL IN SILENCE. While cheerfully greeting new customers who came out to sit and asking them what they'd like to eat and drink. I'm unsure what it was about us that she found so distasteful but I know I'm never coming here again. read more

OK ,I'll be the first to admit I fell into the yelp trap, after reading so many negative reviews, I opted to have dinner at the Yard House before going to listen to a band at Shenanigans. After dinner we walked over to Shenanigans to listen to a band called Total Recall. After reading all the negative reviews I braced myself for a service nightmare. This changed the minuet we walked in and were greeted by our waiter, Derrick. Derrick throughout the evening was fast, efficient and friendly. The patio was clean and neat and the band was outstanding. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is due to the fact that we didn't have anything to eat, I'll save the food review for our next visit. Oh yeah, on a side note we have been there in the past and were not impressed with the service, this time we were, so whatever is happening during your staff meetings is definitely working. read more
