I recently returned to this diner. It was 11:10 and there was only one other customer in the place. The three employees were all Hispanic with only one speaking broken English. I ordered two wraps and hummus. I requested that one of the wraps be made super spicy. The employee had no idea what I was saying and had to get the one with broken English to translate. They announced it was ready and when I was leaving, the employee said "Happy Memorial Day." Umm, when someone is going to a funeral, do you tell them to have a good time? What is happy about all of the citizens who died for this country? SMH The wraps, which were $11 each, were so small that I was shocked. What a joke! I will not return.

Local "shawarma" spot and I put the quotations because it doesn't satisfy that craving that think have when you think about a proper spot. Came in to try it out for lunch, it's a sit down or takeout spot. Looked for my go to options but, nothing was really speaking to me other than the tandoori chicken shawarma wrap so I tried it. My biggest pet peeve is when you give me something that I could have made easily and better at home and that's exactly what I got. A very anemic looking, overly spicy was that was severely overpriced. For the same amount I paid for this, I can get a lot more food elsewhere. Service was quick but, I was far from satisfied or excited. Provided all angles of my skinny wrap.

I tried the beef shawarma, fries, and shanina. The beef in the shawarma had good seasoning, but it was dry and had more of a liver-like taste than beef. The fries were okay, though there wasn't much of it in the bag. I didn't enjoy the shanina--it had a strong, pungent flavor that didn't appeal to me. The customer service was decent, and the restaurant was clean, though there was an unpleasant vinegar-like smell in the air.

Where do I start, The customer service or the food. Or the DMV SPEAKER that announces the customer orders. Starting off the female cashier service was horrible, no greetings, very dry, or care for the customers. It was very frustrating and I felt as if maybe I was the problem until the other customers said the same thing. As a middle eastern man myself I felt ashamed to bring my American friends here to represent my culture and food. Once the food arrived I would rate it a 5/10 edible. Chicken shawarma and beef shawarma meat was dry. The garlic sauce was like mayo with garlic powder. The French fries were crispy but hallow and had an old oil taste. Really don't drag bad experiences but I hope the business owner takes the right actions to keep this middle eastern business striving. I know my middle eastern community and how welcoming we are, this place didnt represent anything about the Middle East.

The food is amazing! Packed with flavors and quality. The customer service is excellent very friendly and helpful. Inside is big and spacious and seems to be pretty clean. They are quick with your order so no long waits. I will definitely keep coming here.

I got the tandoori chicken wrap combo and the wrap is really good! My only complaint is they don't have unsweetened tea. I got the lemonade and it is too sweet so I want to mix with unsweetened tea but unfortunately they only have sweet tea. Fries is just okay. Will order the wrap alone next time

If they allowed 1/2 stars I'd give 3.5. Just not quite enough to round up to 4.0. I had the rice bowl special with chicken / beef combo, Mediterranean / tzatziki salad, and tahini sauce. Overall the food was decent. Better than some of the one- and two-star reviews would lead one to believe. But there was an odd (to me) flavor throughout; I'm guessing I should have asked for something other than the tahini sauce. Service was fast and efficient. Ambiance was nice and clean with plenty of seating.

Great fresh made shawarma with great flavor. Order was taken immediately and food was ready within 10 mins. It's a casual atmosphere and was not too loud. It was a great overall experience and the owner was very welcoming.

i think i got the wrong menu item. i chose the loaded fries with chicken. yikes! toooo much going on for one plate of food. i think i should have split it with my friend. i threw over half of it away because it was really heavy. lots of food, which is a good thing. i forgot to snap a pic! in their defense, i should have gotten a salad. i'll give them another chance for sure! read more

Went there yesterday and decided to get a Beef Gyro which I wanted to try and see how they could be like the one I have been missing for yrs. The taste in Europe is so different that I have not found anything close to that taste in Dallas after trying if not all, most of the Gyro's or Shawarma joints. The type of red chilli spreed they use is like the chinese one and not a typical Middle Eastern or North American spreed. Anyway, including the bread they use, it is not really any close to what is a good Gyro. Disappointed. read more

Oh. My. Goodness. I've had shawarma and gyros before but this is by far the juiciest chicken I've ever had. The garlic mayo is to die for and their homemade pistachio ice cream is pretty darn good. I tried their Shanina, salted yogurt drink and actually liked it but couldn't bring myself to drink an entire glass. I opted for the delicious mint lemonade instead. I've been back to try three different chicken wraps and none have them have failed to amaze my taste buds. read more

Probably the most authentic Jordanian shawarma in town. Perfect to a tee. The Jordan guy I took with me was so happy to find this place and he had two for lunch. I've only been here once so far and I ordered the chicken shawarma which is chicken in garlic sauce wrapped in a flat, warm pita bread. I only got the shawarma, not the combo (includes fries and a drink). I have it 5 stars bc the shawarma tasted delicious!! I would definitely describe this place as Mediterranean fast food. Also, it prides itself in being authentic Mediterranean food, but you have to be careful in interpreting that phrase. It is authentic in the way they prepare the meats, and having Mediterranean classics like the shawarma, hummus, baklava, etc. BUT it does have an American flair, most likely to appeal and not confuse anyone not familiar with the Mediterranean diet. First, like I mentioned before, they serve their combo with fries. Second, they also have a "build your own bowl" very much like other fast casual restaurants out there (i.e. Chipotle). Third, the restaurant itself is very modern, does not at all look authentic Arab culture, but that doesn't matter bc it didn't affect the taste of the food! Is it the best Mediterranean? Maybe it's pretty up there for shawarmas but I like my veggies and variety so it won't be my go to. I think it's worth the try though! Maybe next time i'll order some dessert read more

Shawarma Press has faaar exceeded my expectations for a Mediterranean cafe and eatery! Not only do they make their own bread, salads, beef, chicken, etc. EVERYTHING is made fresh and in front of you. I have tried both their chicken and beef shawarma and I honestly can't pick which one I like more! Don't forget to try their Nespresso coffee and menu. I recently tasted their lazy cake and flan, and I will 100% come back for more. For a NEW restaurant their quality and environment is great! read more

I tried this place out last weekend and I was certainly impressed! I got the chicken shawarma wrap and asked them to add some spice. The wrap was actually an Indian style bread which was a pleasant surprise. Food was fresh, tasty, and healthy. I also got the shanina drink which is equivalent to the Indian/Pakistani lassi- delicious and very refreshing! read more

In my quest for the perfect Shawarma, I came across this place on a recent visit to Irving. As someone who has had TONS of authentic Shawarmas, I would say that this place is just above average. The chicken itself is delicious, but the tahini sauce (as opposed to the authentic garlic sauce) and the toasted/pressed wrap (unlike the authentic pita) are a slight disappointment. The layered fruit juice is decent. The tabouleh is good and at par with what you'd get in other Mediterranean restaurants. There's one thing I loved at the restaurant which is their homemade Pistachio ice cream - it's creamy and not loaded with sugar. It's a nice and clean restaurant and the prices are reasonable ($6 for the chicken shawarma). If you enjoy Mediterranean food, you will likely like this place, though I wouldn't call it authentic read more

I wish I lived and worked on this side of town so I could eat here once a week! You can tell everything is fresh. I had a delicious beef shawarma with fries. Both were full of flavor and I love that the fries are crispy and seasoned. I haven't had this good of fries in a long time. The shawarma was packed with flavorful beef, some veggies, and plenty of sauce. Great job guys!! read more

I had the chicken shwarma and it was excellent. So were the falafels - very crispy and done just right. They seemed to be a little dysfunctional behind the counter that night. Everyone's orders took a very long time which created a huge standing room crowd of people waiting for their to-go orders. read more

I've been here twice this week. Both times I got the chicken shawarma. First time without pickles second time with. Also brought my mother and it was her first time having a shawarma. She enjoyed it as did I. The pickles are shredded so they don't overpower the chicken or the sauce. Can't beat the price nor the quality. read more

The prices were good for the amount of food given. I had the falafel and my husband had the beef shawarma. The hummus was excellent. The place was clean enough, and the people running it were friendly enough. The pita that came with the hummus was awful (stale and stuck to my teeth), and that is the only reason I'd deduct one star. Other than the pita, the food was good, authentic, and well-spiced. read more

My guy and I stopped in for lunch after getting haircuts next door. What a great choice we made, because I found this place to be pretty awesome. I got a rice bowl with chicken, garlic sauce, and the cucumber/tomato salad, and he got a rice bowl with beef, tandoori sauce, and the yogurt-type salad. I thought my chicken bowl was great, however, I enjoyed the tandoori sauce better than the garlic. Next time I come I'll be getting the chicken rice bowl with the tandoori sauce, for sure! We also got an order of the falafel to share. I couldn't finish my bowl, because to me it was a lot of food, but I'll definitely be warming those leftovers up later! After we finished our lunch, I got an espresso and he got a ristretto. Both were great. We also got a pistachio baklava and a cream baklava to split. They are one serving portions, but we cut them in half to try each. We both preferred the pistachio, but the cream one was good too. The staff was also very friendly, and helpful. After just moving to Texas from Hawaii, I haven't really had the chance to eat much Mediterranean foods, but the gentlemen who helped us was very patient with my questions. Overall, I had a great experience, and we will definitely be coming back very soon! read more

We went for Lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Very fresh and delicious food and the meat was cooked perfectly. I had the beef shawarma wrap and my wife had a rice bowl with chicken. Probably about a 3.5 but Yelp does not offer that option. I had the chicken shawarma and grape leave. The grape leaves were ok but not great. They weren't bad, maybe it is because they were really cold from the refrigerator that I did not like but the flavor was not bad. The shawarma was pretty good but was a little odd with all the pickles. Don't get me wrong it was good as a sandwich just different from the shawarma I have had in the past and I do love me some shawarma. I will be back. read more

I went there at 9:35 and they close at 10:00 so one of the employees his name was imran said that their boss don't wanna see me in their store she told them to let me leave whenever I go in. That's how it is first when they started they used to be asking people to come in but now after their business working good they started kicking customers out. What's a nice business never going back again and I really don't recommend anyone to go there read more

They started us with warm, crispy bread and a yogurt-based dip that was quite flavorful. I ordered the lamb shish kebab platter (well done), and we also tried the chicken shish kebab platter. Both came with buttery rice, a fresh salad drizzled with olive oil, and yogurt sauce. The chicken was tender and properly seasoned, but the lamb was the highlight. Lamb can easily turn dry or overly gamey if not handled right, but this was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor even when cooked well done, exactly how a good shish kebab should be. I skipped dessert this time, though they offer a few options, and I noticed what appeared to be a buffet setup, which I'm curious to try next. Overall, a solid, well executed Mediterranean meal. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

I get that a lot of the servers are not professional servers. For the mezze platter, it would've been helpful to have an explanation of what was on it. Basically they brought the food. They took our order and that was it. Parents: they have one kids meal which included four chicken kebabs and a side of either rice or fries ($18). The price felt very steep for a kids meal. I probably would rather have had half the portion size for half the price.

I observed him enter the kitchen area and blow his nose over food. He then briefly ran his hands under water, in the kitchen, without using soap and immediately resumed handling food. He proceeded to work with hummus and place cookie dough onto a baking sheet, all without wearing a hair net or properly washing his hands. This level of carelessness with hygiene is unacceptable, and I would strongly caution others about eating at this location until these issues are addressed.

People don't seem to understand that this is a Mediterranean restaurant with the western style dine and go feel. The food is carefully prepared to cater to every taste not just middle eastern which is probably what people are complaining about. The sandwich is a normal size sandwich that will be enough for any normal sized stomach :) I also don't know why people are expecting to get 2 pounds of meat for $4.99. I liked the food and the fries specially the seasoning and you can tell them not to season your fries if you think it might be to salty. Even the ice cream was good and portion wise it was just about the right size. I am glad to see that shawarma press is moving away from the traditional Mediterranean were in some cases you might not feel comfortable eating there. Shawarma Press is hands down the best spot for Mediterranean food in Irving! From the moment you walk in, the aroma of fresh spices and grilled meats fills the air, making your mouth water instantly. I ordered the classic beef shawarma wrap, and it was absolutely delicious--juicy, flavorful, and wrapped in the softest pita bread. Wow! To start, when I walked into the restaurant the cashier greeted me with a big smile and welcomed me. She answered all my questions and was very kind. The service was very quick and efficient. The food was amazing! Everything I tried was amazing. The Shawarma Meal is a great option because you get 1 wrap, 2 sides, a side sauce, AND a drink!!! I've been looking for authentic shawarma in the DFW area, and this is the only place I have found that tastes like the shawarma overseas. The staff is friendly and helpful, and all the menu items I have tried have been delicious. I love the chicken and beef shawarma and the pastries are also very good. They also offer Nespresso coffee, which is great for an afternoon pick me up. All in all a fantastic place to visit and eat at. I would highly recommend. read more

This is probably one of the most authentic shawarma restaurants in the area. The store is very clean and organized, the staff is friendly, and the menu has a lot of different options for different tastes. I am a shawarma lover with very high expectations (grew up on shawarma ) and by far this is the best I had in the DFW area. They also have a full sized nespresso machine. Never seen one in a DFW restaurant. Must try. Will be back. read more
